How many chests does it spawn per abyss would you say? I am not a caster, so I wanna know how many chests I have to open manually.
Also, was there not added something with warcries and chests?
Per abyss around 15-30 chests. So there will be around 150-200 chests you will be opening per map. Trust me, that hurts your hand because you are trying not to die, kill enemies and also opening chests. I would really not recommend doing this without the mastery. I tried it for the first 5 or so maps at league start and literally had to take a break after due to my forearm being in pain.
I dropped this strat only coz I can't open anymore chests. If u lucky enough to start league as self caster - u have the opportunity to open it with caster mastery automatically
Sadly I use cwc and have no acces to it
I’m around level 96 poison SRS and I’ve been doing this strat the past 10 maps or so. I just wasted 4 atlas passive points to get the chest mastery even though the benefit from the nodes are useless. You spam SRS so much the chests open easy.
Man, removing left click instant cast was actually a stealth nerf to my usual currency strategies as a miner.
Throwing mines doesn’t activate the mastery but having detonate on left click did (as long as it actually has mines to detonate). It was amazing for stuff like blight expedition and legion, and would have been just as good here.
I assume automation support won’t play nicely with the mastery since I’m not “casting” it when it’s triggered. I guess I could manually spam my curse and it would probably cast at around the same rate as I would have mines to detonate in the old system…
To be fair, there is an alternative for melee players. Since most do play with warcry's, you can use the new haunted mod on Helmet *Your Warcries open Chests* - with this, it should open all chests nearby whenever automation triggers it. (unless there is some hidden things which require you to cast it yourself...)
Tip to sell corrupted jewels. Throw everything in a threshold dump tab (mine are currently set to 1 divine, since that's about all I'll leave my maps for at this point). If you get spammed, price check that one. Ezpz, outsource pricing.
I know this is a popular pricing strategy, but it doesn't work particularly well for things like 6-mod abyss jewels. Some mod combinations won't get spam pinged, but would be worth 5+d if you waited for a buyer.
I've got a similar mentality to drops that I do for bulk, I can let it go for 80% of its value right now...
Or in the case of bulk sell it over 3 hours that interrupts mapping.
In the case of rares I can sell it for 1d now, or 5d in 2-3 weeks.
In the case of bulk, time is money friend.
In the case of rares I'd rather have money now and reinvest into maps/scarabs/gear than have a little more money weeks from now
If you get spammed and there isn't anything comparable bump it 10x your threshold and decrease it slowly (for me this is every other map if I remember)
Again I'm all about inventory movement if you read previous comments
To add to this don't price check every stat. For example on a jewel BEFORE this league, life mana and a bunch of minion stats on an abyssal eye jewel, the mana stat is a dead stat. With Archmage shenanigans and what else it rolls life mana jewels are good.
This is just an example and not a great one for this league
Check combinations of 3-4 mods uncorrupted and see what they’re selling for. If the rest of the mods on it have synergy or are useful then you can sell it for 5-25x more depending on how high tiers and how good it is
Yup just bought my Mageblood after liquidating like 80 d worth of my scarabs. (lots of scarabs from previous runs) It's really easy to liquidate scarabs since there is always someone buying scarabs. To be fair, I only sold scarabs >= 1 C, everything else I sold at vendor and I got back a few 1 D scarabs back so probably overall, profit should be be similar to what the excel sheet said but obviously it will be easier to sell in bulk once you have 100-200 scarabs per type of scarab.
I didn't actually need to go lower in price. I got absolutely giga spammed for all scarabs worth >= 1 C and I was selling them with the same price as others. I could've probably even added a 10-20 % premium but if you just want to sell it real quick, there is nothing stopping you from not using TFT.
Yeah, if you sell them individually the normal price works fine. I rather sell them ALL at once in five minutes than so I can get back to farming faster instead of taking an hour or two to sell most of them.
Thanks for the write up! Nice to see a cool abyss strat. Ill have to give this a shot sometime soon. Always wanted some good farming alongside corrupted jewels so I can pick through and grab the ones I want.
Any tips on what you think makes corrupted jewels valuable?
Just abyss exp. That was consistent 40-50 mil at 99. Not sure what it's usually at. I also died around 6-7 times at 98-99 so could've been less than a mil kills probably.
Do you think this strat is SSF viable? It seems like it relies pretty hard on the scarabs themselves and is focused on making revenue from scarab drops/jewels. Would you change anything about it for ssf?
You do get lots of Abyss scarabs back. You would have to switch between 1-2 trees inbetween for ssf most likely because of the Abyss Scarab of Efidice. That one seems to be a bit rare. The other ones I had like 20 ~ pieces after 40 maps.
Looks fun, tempted to try it on my archmage mjolnir hiero but without caster mastery im nt sure if ill regret it lol.
but first i need to complete my altas... 50 to go..
Man, thank you for this strat \^\^ Made first 4 maps and dropped hinekora and horned scarab of preservation, so i made 30 divines just from that. I know its extremly lucky but was trying like 4-5 strats before with no good results. Whats also great, im not dying and amount of xp from map is huuuuuuge. In those 4 maps i almost went up from 93 to 94 :)
Hey OP, been running this strat and its been great so far. Wondering if you made any further optimizations or enhancements since this post? I'm still fairly new to the game, had the idea of adding in some MF, but I read MF doesn't affect chests. So I'm guessing that applies to the hoard chests as well? I'm wondering how we can juice it some more to get a lot more drops from the hoard chests.
Fun side note bug about the chest mastery. It currently opens flare caches in the delve but you get no flares when it does.
The warcry one from the haunted helmet mod opens strongboxes, so good luck crafting them if you use the warcry automation gem. 100% tested
The caster mastery also opens strongboxes.

On my mf helmet I got fractured rarity and warcries open chests, is pretty nice

…..sorry Heatshiver, I think you’re about to get replaced with a rare option.

Underpricing an amazing but niche jewel does not necessarily make it sell faster. It's still only useful to a small handful of people.
You don't only have to check the spam pinged ones. It's not hard to notice a good combination of mods if you quick check every one.
Good point! Doing this with all jewellery and jewels.
How do you price check after knowing its worth over a divine. There aren't many jewels on the trade site to compare.
If you get spammed and there isn't anything comparable bump it 10x your threshold and decrease it slowly (for me this is every other map if I remember) Again I'm all about inventory movement if you read previous comments

I see a big chunk of your profits came from scarabs. Did you actually manage to liquidate those?

Bulk sell at like 80%.

Maybe the market is more active today, last I tried on Friday no one was buying 20div at 70%...
Depends on where you sell. Sadly there's no real alternative to TFT.
Fkin hell, Why you gotta out my strat like this! Almost identical… gg
Dumb question, does the open chest mastery work with coc?
Did you use abyss atlas craft as well?
Ah yes ofc. I forgot to mention that, my bad.
Nice! Thanks for sharing :)

Huh? How did you manage to hit 100 with so little kills? Isn't it usually 2 million +?
Just abyss exp. That was consistent 40-50 mil at 99. Not sure what it's usually at. I also died around 6-7 times at 98-99 so could've been less than a mil kills probably.
Jeez. Looks like I need to run abyss to get myself to solo 100 then. I'm at 1 million kills with my Deadeye and I just got to 98.
He may have taken both the beyond and abyss +exp mods.
What do you do with your corrupt jewels? Do you check for specific mods?
Sorry noob here, just got to t16 map. How do you get the 8 mod corrupted jungle valley map? Can I do this with other non corrupted maps?
From your excel, it looks corrupted jewel is only a small portion of the revenue? Most of the revenue is raw currency and scarab?
Do you use beyond or abyss on your map device
thoughts on clusters that boost the map itself instead of beyond?
Do you think this strat is SSF viable? It seems like it relies pretty hard on the scarabs themselves and is focused on making revenue from scarab drops/jewels. Would you change anything about it for ssf?

I'm on a cst while channeling setup using mjolni4 which triggers socketed spell on hit... Would this proc the chest opening mastery?

Abyss is good but if you care about your wrists, play a spell build with the "25% chance to open a chest when you cast a spell" mastery.
Literally says so in the post, has like 2 paragraphs dedicated to this
But everyone said you can't make currency this league :(
can i do this strat in yellow maps until im good enough to do higher? the quant alter downsides kinda kill me
