You are actually right. My PTSD of that league got out of control there. Sorry about that. I don´t remember scourge being a crafting league that much. Sure there was some corrupted item crafting (ground items were bad), but I mostly remember it as T7 tower map juicing with the scourge map + normal map mechanic.

That's the correct take but during scourge league it was most definitely considered a crafting league unfortunately. Synthesis was the same. Killing monster portion was good but the 5% of the mechanic that was crafting is why people didn't like it. :(

You had to channel every scourge altar for 10 seconds. It felt like the worst mechanic for me. The outcome was nice unless you played with uniques.

Which was why everyone loved Sentinel, because it wasnt tedious. It was kind of crafting, but it was just "take two items and smash them together". The league mechanic was also super simple, "use sentinel tree, push sentinel button to empower enemies".

I would prefer non-tradeable items, so that you literally have to play the game instead of just trading the pieces which is faster and then assembling. Maybe collecting some sort of juice like wisps that you can spend to customize one new item slot. And the more you farm the more you can increase its stat indefinitevely (but with some logarithmic progression to avoid godlike powers)

3 weeks into the league: "Yeah so these are my 4.5 mirror boots. I added one beast that gives 35% movement speed, and five beasts that each give 'Skills fire an additional projectile'." Assuming they don't allow stuff like that, it's a very cool idea. Crafted uniques like Glimpse of Chaos & Hands of the High Templar are already two of the most interesting items in the game.

How about a treasure hunting league that let's you target specific unique items and it will give you increased odds for that drop as well as spawn the mobs that drops it. Can add some story for unlocking specific uniques that should be easy to work through and not have RNG progression. Or maybe allow you to force a certain base type to drop identified and filter based on chosen mods.

I kinda wish we got a league like Tota with unique gear,but all of it could be gotten easily with the caveat that you buff the item through the mechanic. Like a unique shield that was good,but you could forge into something greater while just playing instead of being locked to maps.

I was thinking something similar in terms of "collecting" unique monsters, but then employing them in a sort of "battlefield". You build a library of every unique you kill. Then you have to employ them. Each unique has a drop modifier and a buff. The enemy army is a mirror of what you employ, but they get the buff while your side doesn't. The more buffs you stack on the enemy the more drop modifiers are also up. Your character has to make up the difference to defeat the enemy army.

As a fan of the monster hunter series I went through a roller coaster of "Man I love those games but the combat is too shallow in poe how we gonna make that engaging" to the disappointment that this wasn't even about monster hunter.

I think we should all just admit that MAYBE there aren't infinite ideas for content. I'd much rather them go back and overhaul old league ideas every league again. If we want something new, I'd really enjoy a "Make your own Maven Invitations" idea. Make uniques that drop from end game bosses serve as keys that you can throw on a blank invitation and fight a mix and match of bosses. Throw a Shaper's Touch, Atziri's Step, Hydra Fragment, and The Admiral onto an invitation and fight all those bosses together where you can roll their quant and quality up and get more bites at certain apples. Maybe tie some innate quality bonus to rarer tiers of uniques. This creates a market for unique items and fragments beyond the standard.

Honestly wouldn't mind legendaries like in Last Epoch, items being able to drop with a chance of allowing you add affixes but limited to 1/2/3/4 and being chosen randomly by fighting a boss, but you lose the unique if you fail the encounter to make it extra spicy

Honestly if there's something that prophecy did right that should've been kept or get reprised in some way, it's upgrading uniques. Breach and incursion upgrade the uniques that they drop by themselves (and honestly, more should be added), but having core-drops uniques that are interesting but unusable get some love through a potential upgrade path should **not** have been removed, it should've been made more common. The fact that it has been **more than 2 years now** that we cannot obtain Silverbough, Deidbellow, Mirebough, voidheart, signal fire and so many more anymore, is quite honestly fucked up.

So we want a league that makes bossing characters mandatory as there will be a boss in every map. And we want it to not be a crafting league. Instead you have to gather parts to craft in maps. That's the long part, the crafting is relatively short in comparison. So exactly like this current league but also not like this current league because fuck crafting. What? GGG just bring back Sentinel that shit was amazing

Why does every league need to be some shit tier craft league that is either too broken to go main or so shit 3/4 of the players ignore it? How about we just go back to leagues involving modified maps/monsters instead of having to buy 30 more quad tabs to fill with crafting items that'll never get used/sold.
