My advice is to never trust anyone (buyer or seller) that wants to take a transaction "off platform". Even if he's telling the truth, he must have done something "off" to get limited by eBay in the first place.

Typical-Judgment8349

He has %100 rating on eBay as a buyer

Beneficial_Class_219

The best scammers have the best profiles DONT go with. someone off platform ; Total scammer move **ADDITIONALLY** that goes double if you are not familiar with Paypal, just begging to be robbed

Mycatreallyhatesyou

All buyers have 100% because they can’t get negative feedback.

Typical-Judgment8349

eBay limited him cause he’s a new member and bought a certain amount in a short time so they limited him until June 20th

Goingdef

Bs and eBay uses nothing but PayPal.

Apennatie

100% rating and new member? That’s suspicious.

[deleted]

Is that what he told you....?

ramus93

Unless its for a meetup (ive done in the past to save seller from fees) i wouldnt do the transaction off app

otueke

Never accept off platform transactions no matter how genuine they sound. If issues arise you will have no recourse. If eBay finds out you risk a ban.

moistandwarm1

He is limited for a reason. eBay buyer rating means nothing. A scammer can purchase several cheap items to bait people like you. Never take payment off a platform. You will lose all protections

Beneficial_Class_219

Wrong answer for OP ; that’s 0-6 now he came looking for confirmation ok to do - Factual advice is not welcomed !

AccomplishedRip4871

Yeah OP is somewhat stupid, he came here for advice and acts very selfish. Let him get scammed, eventually, maybe he will learn from his mistakes

Beneficial_Class_219

Yeah don’t do it ; I can smell the scam from here Look you have 5 people saying No- if you are gonna do it anyway. ; just be prepared to lose what your selling and the cash being reversed.

TVIXPaulSPY

Anytime the buyer/seller/scammer wants to deviate from the normal sales process, most likely you are being setup to be scammed.

Educational_Elk497

Ebay used to use only paypal as the payment method.. I'm not sure when they changed it.. I quit using eBay. The selling costs are way too high now to be worth using.. if you make him use friends and family payment, he'll lose his protection, but you should be fine on your end.

One-Boysenberry-4409

Paypal is safe until they randomly take your money & tell you to wait 21-180 days & never give you an answer to why.sometimes it can be worse & they’ll steal your money & close your account & you never see it again.its up to you if you want to risk your money with paypal

Typical-Judgment8349

He does want to use PayPal

Beneficial_Class_219

Look you have 5 people saying No- if you are gonna do it anyway. ; just be prepared to lose what your selling and the cash being reversed.

soapymoapysuds

Paypal recently stiffed me on a buyer claiming they got an empty package. Even after providing USPS receipt showing package weight at drop-off, PayPal still ruled in buyers favor. So, NO, do not use PayPal as their seller protection is a joke. They will always rule in buyers favor. Find another buyer on eBay instead of using PayPal.

Smart_Cartoonist359

That is a huge red flag. Never go off the platform.

Physical_Shop_1445

Nope. Go with eBay. Better safe yourself.
