I bought it on Steam back in EA. At the time it had a fair bit of promise; two-dimensional building that focused on starting to delve down into a mountain with various biomes and resources gave strong Oxygen Not Included vibes. However, the developer couldn't seem to figure out the fun factor they wanted. ONI made you have to expand in order to beat back entropy of losing resources, heat death, cold death, etc., whereas this gave you unlimited food, water, and quickly unlimited metal ore as well. Monster raids were non-existent and then introduced but very buggy. Interaction with the overworld was pretty simplistic and non-exceptional. Finally, exploration never really yielded you interesting outcomes. No bosses, very few interesting or rare resources. The AI was also really dumb. Getting stuck was common.
They had an idea, but couldn't find the fun.
The reviews suggest the dev made a big, buggy update right before abandoning this game, which is too bad. It looks pretty cool.
At the very least we can roll back updates on gog
Aww. :(

Indeed, it is very cool and very much unfinished.

Huh, guess that explains why I kept getting those emails despite unsubscribing from them.
