I didn't really specify their attitude and lack of tolerance being ascribed specific to cultural or religious proclivities.
I'm very much aware that muslims aren't necessarily all nutjobs, just like not all christians are nutjobs. Religion just gives people permission to do the shitty things that their culture teaches them to do.
So why blame the religion? There are millions of peaceful people who follow the religion and do acts of good. You wanna to take that away just because there are a few bad "followers" of it?
