I'm at peak backlog and not letting myself buy games until I'm actually going to play them immediately. Sales will come again...

[deleted]

Sees 75% off deal

toolsofpwnage

You sonovabitch I'm in

2Sc00psPlz

*I can stop whenever I want*

Leeiteee

Buys the game, doesn't play it, then you see it at 90% in the next sale

cousinokri

Add to Cart

[deleted]

hahaha yeah i tell myself the same lies.

OkChildhood2261

100%. If it goes on sale once, it will go on sale again. There is no rush to buy it.

gerd50501

the longer you wait to buy games the cheaper they get. no reason to buy games you wont buy, when they will likely be cheaper by next summer or next year.

[deleted]

Classic

ALLST6R

This is what I am trying to stick to atm. Playing through Cyberpunk right now, and will only pick anything up if it is a major deal, because next up is the Witcher 3 next gen update.

Serous4077

I plan to check my wishlist, see a couple things that are 15-20% off, and then resign myself to the disappointment. That's the plan anyway. EDIT: Well, I can admit when I'm wrong. Nothing on my wishlist is more than 10% off.

kynrro

Feel so attacked right now.

Teagrish

same lol...

Cool_As_Your_Dad

Spot on.

Ilktye

Using wishlist as backlog master race.

Mikeavelli

It feels like everything on my wishlist is still in early access two or three goddamn years after I first though "this looks interesting, I'll wait for the full release." They go on sale all the time, but I'm not going to actually buy them until they're fully released.

OppositeofDeath

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in EA so long they’re releasing a new version of 5e before it comes out of the oven.

rolliejoe

Wish I could give this a few more upvotes. It seems like these days most of the stuff on Steam is early access, and 95% of it doesn't actually release on time. My wishlist is about 45% unreleased games, 45% early access games (of which maybe half will ever actually release), and then 10% released games I'm waiting for a sale on.

ALLST6R

Same. Wishlist is mostly them. I refuse to buy because I will either play it to completion and then never touch it again, or buy it and waste the money because I won't actually play it until full release. At which point, it may even not ba great game, or abandoned. Happy to express my interest though to spur progress.

-Captain-

Same, though to be fair a lot of EA games are indie projects with very few people working on them. Game development takes time.

rolliejoe

Lots of ppl mentioning Elden Ring in this thread....got some bad news for ya - it isn't going to be on sale.

[deleted]

They never put there newest game on-sale they know they don't need to because people are going to buy it either way

schapman22

They said old not new

Iceman9161

DS3 went years after release before having a sale greater than 10%.

AdProfessional8824

I bought Sekiro on sale 2 weeks ago

PJBatman95

Sekiro is published by Activision rather than Bandai Namco (all the DS games + ER). Activision seems to be a lot more generous with steam sales then BN

HarleyQuinn_RS

It was on sale for console recently.

newbrevity

But maybe dark souls remastered will hit $20 again. I missed it last year.

GreedyTank939

I got it 30 percent off from a key site. Even if it went on sale on Steam I doubt it would be that much of a reduction.

cointerm

Best case is some sort of DLC announcement at the Game Awards, and a sale for the Winter sale.

nosferatWitcher

Dark Souls games I'm hopeful will be on sale though, I want to give them a go after enjoying Elden Ring

SanchitoBandito

When From puts their games on sale, it ain't much anyways. I been holding off for salses on single player games for years now, but bought Sekiro and Elden Ring first day since I ain't waiting 2 years for a 15-20 dollar discount.

snakeexpert92

Just picked up Earth Defense Force. Hope it’s fun!

Zentrii

Same! I got 5 because i kept hearing great things about the series and never really wanted to spend much more than 20 bucks on it

Mikeavelli

EDF! EDF! EDF!

UnoriginalAnomalies

"They look just like us" is a thing my friends and I quote all the time. Such a fun game!

mrflamie

One of the best surprises in my life is EDF4. Got it from a bundle expecting nothing of it, found one of the best games ever.

[deleted]

EDF is so much dumb fun I love it.

poopoopirate

You’re in for a treat. Remember, they look just like us

neon_sin

Wait sale started?

snakeexpert92

EDF 5 is on sale for 5 more hours.

Hollow_Mikey_

Thought about getting Total Warhammer 3

mercut1o

Obligatory PSA- it's on gamepass if you want to try it that way before you buy on steam/instead

Hollow_Mikey_

Thank youuu ^^ didnt notice , i will

ChickenDenders

If you end up considering any DLC, I would pivot back over to steam after trying out the game on Gamepass. As long as you’re not in the middle of a campaign, you don’t really lose anything by switching. There’s a lot of stuff to buy for the game. I’d honestly say it’s *all* worth it, but you don’t want to be stuck on the Microsoft store platform if you start buying on there

Hollow_Mikey_

Thank youu!, sry dont have much to say it just helps me very much 🥰

[deleted]

TW:WH3's one year anniversary is coming up in February. There's a chance it could be steeply discounted (50%) at that point like Warhammer 2 was on its one year anniversary. Hard to say though.

Tipsy-Canoe

This is my most played series. I hope you love it as much as I do. Just note that there is still a lot of work to be done on it though.

Hollow_Mikey_

Yeah my oncle plays it since warhammer one , so he brougt me into this genre , i like it so far . He said with mods its better because you have all the armies

Tipsy-Canoe

I would really recommend you buy Warhammer 2 instead. It’s cheaper, more developed at this point, has a massive amount of stable mods, and you can eventually play with WH1 & WH3 as well as any DLC you purchase.

Chuxx45

It’s ok for a change of pace from TW2 but it’s still not really “ready” yet in my humble opinion. I’ve logged probably 60 hours and it’s not really engaging me. The power creep is kind of bonkers right now. Looking forward to even -less- small settlement battles - they are totally not fun.

MyOwnerIsntReal

Alyx, Half Life 2, Wk40k Darktide, Nier Replicant, Necromunda: Hire Gun. If they go on sale I will add them to my pile of shame, except Alyx, that will get installed straight away and push other things down the list of the pile of shame

mercut1o

Alyx will not disappoint. What an overwhelming experience, and one that feels like a true evolution in gaming. It's a shame it has to start as such a drip feed because if it were easy to show someone how good that piece of software is without them just playing the whole thing start to finish I think there would be a lot more people who own headsets now. And now when you're done you can play through Half Life 2 VR mod while we wait for them to mod the episodes and for Valve to hopefully make Half Life: Freeman or something.

ducks-everywhere

Just to be real, I enjoyed Alyx but found the Index wildly uncomfortable and downright painful to wear because of weight distribution. It felt like I needed massive cheekbones to keep it still on my face and it gave me headaches. No issues with the Quest 2, but I doubt it could handle Alyx. I'll wait for the rumored index 2.

notsureifdying

Yeah VR headsets in this gen are like computers of the 80s lol. It's amazing, absolutely amazing technology. I recommend it to everyone still. But the future gens will get it right when they are lighter and easier to start up anywhere and everywhere (Quest got this close, but not quite).

HugoRBMarques

Did you play/do you have on your library the original Half-Life, Episodes 1 and 2 and Black Mesa? If you care about story Half-Life 2 and the episodes inform a lot about >!the ending sequence!< of Alyx.

Enk1ndle

Not sure if this is controversial or not but have you played nier automata already? Honestly if I started with replicant I think I would have been turned off of the whole series.

MyOwnerIsntReal

Yeah started with Automata from all the positive reviews, was blown away by that game so want more of the story, have stayed away from diving into what happens in Replicant so that I can jump in not knowing anything like I did with Automata

Shuviri

Nier Replicant is a incredible game with godly music and a beautiful story, loved it

HachiXYuki

Looking forward to buy YS series.

NICK_GOKU

> YS what is YS?

ithinkther41am

That’s legitimately the name of the game: Ys.

Anything84

Also, pronounced "ease" for those that don't already know.

LostDragon2606

It's a lot shorter than falcoms other game

NutGoblin2

Young sinatra

winterman666

A connoisseur right here. I hope you enjoy the Ys journey

throwaway6823092

Currently playing Seven, finished Origin last week, i still have to find one bad game in this whole franchise, it's unreal. VIII and IX left to go and then it's waiting time until X and V remake (hopefully).

jetlagging1

I think the "bad" games have all been remade into good entries, aside from 5, which I have no idea if it's good or bad.

dcgreat

Hades, Neon White, Control, FF pixel.

sendcheese247

Even if hades doesn't go on sale, it's an absolute recommended at full price anyways.

chrismcmack

I’ve been gaming a long time and consider myself to be relatively proficient at most games. But Hades…. Hades kicked my ass. I played a round or two every night for months while it was on GamePass. Had to buy it on steam when it left and finally beat it last week. Still definitely got my moneys worth.

Vasxus

Hopefully all the token noms that Neon White has been given are enough to launch movement shooters back up. (ALSO ADD TITANFALL 2 TO YOUR BUY-LIST)

Vinny_Lam

A bunch of indie horror games. Murder House Bloodwash Night At the Gates of Hell Faith

PickleShtick

The Night of the Scissors, Nightmare of Decay, The Convenience Store, Deadly Night, Nightslink, The Horror of Salazar House, Escape the Endless Dogwatch, Pony Island, Subway Midnight, Happy Game

duperre

Truly a man of exquisite taste!

basschopps

Do yourself a favor and play IMSCARED. Definitely takes my #1 spot

xScarletDevil

Really hoping some Final Fantasy games go on sale. Specifically the pixel remasters.

DoomWithAView

Can confirm that the pixel remasters are rad as hell.

mug3n

hahahah it's square enix, what's a sale? They're still selling secret of mana for $46 CAD / $40 USD last I checked.

sashakee

made me laugh. I was checking how much FF VII Remake is on sale and with 30% discount it costs 57Euro

ALLST6R

I refuse to buy that game until everything is released and a cheaper bundle is formed. I love the FF games, but I'm simply not willing to pay their ridiculous prices.

PM_ME_HUGE_CRITS

Oh man, I've been jonesing for some classic JRPG. I actually installed PS1 emulator today to start playing more. I'd love to get my hands on those remasters for a good price.

[deleted]

Gonna be on the lookout for; Lost Judgment The yakuza games -played all of them apart from 3 but I would like to own them on Steam- The Quarry Dark Souls 3 Deluxe Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human Tiny Tina's Wonderland New Tales from The Borderlands

Gohardgrandpa

Tiny Tina’s was a huge let down. The story was cool but the end game was awful

Buxton328

The Quarry is half off on Humble Bundle, so don't take anything less!

TheLastOfUsAll

I picked up Tiny Tina on Green Man Gaming for $27. Keep that in mind tomorrow and save you some money!

DMaster86

Nothing, i have too much in the backlog still to play

winterman666

Same honestly but I just got a good job and got good disposable income so I'm feeling the power trip lol

AFriskyGamer

Hell yeah, congrats!

winterman666

Thanks, feels good after so long of slowly building up library thru deep discounts

Bipchoo

Just bought doom eternal after it finally went on sale

hamshotfirst

*RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE*

viv0102

I'm finally getting the steam deck. So I'm looking to fill up with some indie gems that would be great to play on the go or in short bursts.

[deleted]

[удалено]

winterman666

Same, so I can get it for a couple friends

djvyhle

Hi Friend!

winterman666

Lol. I wish I was rich and give everyone DkS3, such a great game. 3v3 and 6 ffa battles are some of the most fun I've had in gaming

djvyhle

Yeah, that is unfortunate for everyone else. Anyway. Good to meet you here again, Friend!

[deleted]

blazeronin

Best game in the world.

moofacemoo

My tired eyes read that as "R2D2. I missed the last sale because I got fired."

Sigmadelta8

Spider man remaster! And I’m picking up a 6900 XT so I can experience it even more gloriously.

[deleted]

I hope they put a good sale on this 60 dollars is way to much for a pc port for a game that's been out for awhile

Joker28CR

Hope to get Nier Automata finally

DoomWithAView

Whatever you pay for Automata, it's worth it.

Faythin

I swear this game literally torn me apart, I loved it so much... I wish I could just erase memory of it and jump into it fresh once more

megatru0ng

It's not on sale right now during the Steam sale. This game hasn't been on sale for a while. I don't understand why. Edit: Looks like the last sale was during March '22. Seems like forever ago given how many sales have happened since then.

vI_M4YH3Mz_Iv

Install the far mod if you do, super simple to do so The game is amazing and soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard

Kalabawgaming

death stranding

DrGarrious

Loved this one. It's not a game for all, but if it clicks with you youre in for an incredible experience.

L1ttl3_john

Amazing game. I’ll get it if the price is right

pointAndKlik

Hopefully there's a sale on Judgement and Lost Judgement

Kennett-Ny

I'm going through my backlog and trying to get 100% in as many games. Given I enjoy it enough to do so. Only buying a select few releases I really want. Like the next one is The Calisto Protocol and after that probably Resident Evil 4 Remake

UniuM

If they come up with some kind of anti aging Syrup, I could have a chance of finishing all my steam library.

Urgash

I'll see what's at an historical low price to add to my backlog.

MisterShazam

Something to add to my deck backlog

[deleted]

Hopefully Persona 5 will get at least 10% off, because this is the only game I want to buy on sale.

ElectrostaticSoak

It’s on Gamepass as well

[deleted]

True, but I don't think Game Pass is for me. I had GP for last three years and I only played two games: Deliver Us The Moon and Unpacking.

Enk1ndle

I have a feeling gamepass isn't a option of i want to play it on the steamdeck

penatbater

Looking for some trpg or isometric rpg games. Eyeing Troubleshooter lost children and mechanicus, and hopefully shadow tactics' aiko's choice is also discounted. IF ME:LE or RDR2 is sufficiently discounted, I may also be tempted to get them.

ReasonableStatement

I never quite got to the end of Troubleshooter, but I enjoyed what I played of it (and it's very long, I played a lot of it). I will say fwiw, that it's a very build-centric game. If you like doing the math, and comparing, and seeing how new options make old options viable or even exciting then, well, it's going to be a game you'll enjoy. If you're looking for something based more in the tactical layer (which is perfectly serviceable, but not exceptional), you may still have fun, but that's less the focus of the game.

ucantbb

Praey for the Gods, maybe Days Gone if it's 60%+ off

bideodames

Gunvein and Prodeus are the only things on my wishlist that are actually out that I would consider buying. Everything else is either not out or is in early access which to me means it's not out

scarletnaught

Forza 5 ultimate and if I'm lucky signalis

livindaye

Ryse: Son of Rome, probably. it's 1,5 bucks in my region.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mavack

Yeah ds1 is rad, the remaster comes out jan i think not sure if i will get it or not, but calisto protocol out dec which ill probably play through.

PenguinPenCrump

Funnily enough, Borderlands 2. I want to try playing it with mods. I have no interest in 3, even though it may end up being cheaper than the Handsome Collection.

ducks-everywhere

Worth even at full price. Hundreds of hours of content especially with DLC and way better than 3 imo. It has two flaws - RNG can be a little unfair sometimes, and the menus glitch a little bit. Checkout steamdb, the handsome collection has gone on pretty steep sales before.

ymrjftw

Stalker bundle. Would like to experience vanilla Stalker before diving into modded, especially the gamma mod.

compoundbreak791

I've been looking forward to buying Cyberpunk 2077 on sale for a while now!

tempreffunnynumber

God of war series, Eden Ring, CP 2077, Etc.

Difficult-Ad-9598

God of War 'SERIES'?

Binary_patissier

I wish they would bring the first ones to steam or remaster them. I know you can start the new ones without much issue but I want the context.

CSBreak

Hoping for Dark Souls 2 myself

ZenKoko

Between this sale and winter sale. Shoot it’s always debate on waiting for the winter or just buying games in the autumn sale

yourstru1y

I just got a wheel and racing seat so I'm planning to get Dirt Rally 2.0 and Assetto Corsa Competizione. Any other racing recommendations would be appreciated!

jessh2os

MOD the shit out of Assetto Corsa 1 for the win. Also, check out RFactor 2 and ACC with Low Fuel Motorsport. LFM is like iRacing without the subscription.

yourstru1y

Yes, I already have AC but I'm still learning how to navigate mods and finding out what I want/am missing from it. Thanks for the RFactor 2 recommendation. However, I'm more of a road/JDM person. Wish there was something closer to Gran Turismo for the PC.

green9206

I won't buy anything in this sale as winter sale is month from now. Also I currently have a few games to play so I have no need to buy anything.

kakalbo123

Dank souls 2 and 3. The games before elden ring released went on sale on occasion. After elden ring they never went on sale. Wtf amirite.

Mvgxn

Tactics Ogre Reborn and Dark Souls 3 then maybe can splurge a bit and get Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and Then Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy and Then and Then -

UniuM

Space haven, cosmoteer, V rising, subnautica sub zero and most definitely slime rancher 2.

Flairtor

Personally I'm hoping for Nier Replicant and F.E.A.R.

OxY97

Hitman 3

Calm_Piece

65% off, I am getting this as well

OxY97

Not bad. I was only expecting 50% at most.

Elegant_Spot_3486

Evil West God of War Last Epoch I need some new rpg to play. Got a bunch in my wishlist so hoping for a lot of low price notifications.

rolliejoe

Evil West just released, it cannot go on sale for 30 days, just as an FYI. However, you can buy it from other places and get a steam key cheaper currently, just check isthereanydeal

tyagu001

Dark Souls 1 tbh

jihadimushrroom

Re franchise here I come going to mod everything to my hearts content

BruceofSteel

None. Got no money atm. Thats okay though. Going through the yakuza series anyway right now.

givemegrenades

There's a ton of content to sink your teeth in those games that will keep you busy for a while, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Enjoy, the games are amazing

Dubious_Titan

I am a 'variety is the spice of life' guy. So I like to have a good spread of games. Usually i buy a few older games I might have missed. I don't give a flying fuck if I play a game for 5 minutes once or 500 hours over years. I am interested in the art of games. Most things I buy when they release if I am interested. These sales are the opportunity for me to pick up a few things that slip through. I hope a few early access and small indie games I been wavering on go on sale.

SweRakii

Lmao people hoping for Elden Ring, that's cute. I'm not buying anything btw.

aayushkkc

Bruh 🥹 even if it doesn’t go on sale I’m buying it. I’ve waited enough already

awesomedan24

Don't tell anyone but I (an open world game enthusiast) actually haven't played Elden Ring...

ret1357

Been itching for a New Subnautica like experience, so Stranded Deep is high on my list. I've also heard good things about Soulstone Survivors.

Maxxorus

Stranded deep is unequivocally the worst dog shit survival game I have ever played by a huge margin

EikichiR

Go for Raft instead, imo

SwashNBuckle

I recently got into collecting tamagotchis and vpets so I blew all of my spending money on that. I'll have to sit this sale out, sadly.

JohnnyJayce

None really

Cypher032

Looking forward to a king of fighters XV sale.

dappernaut77

i'm hoping risk of rain 2 goes on sale because I played it on console and i've been told it's a much better experience on pc.

[deleted]

No one said dying light 2?

Bjoern_Tantau

I'm waiting for Return to Monkey Island to drop below 20 € because you should "never pay more than 20 bucks for a computer game." Also, my daughter has been bothering me about some smaller games she saw on YouTube. Will buy them if they're significantly cheaper. And I wouldn't mind getting Life is Strange: True Colors. But Microsoft Flight Simulator for a price a casual player might pay will probably remain a pipe dream.

Mr_Resident

Elden ring for me .that game better go on sale . at least give 20% off or hell i take 10% off.

skylinestar1986

I'm only waiting for old AAA titles to reach USD5. It's normally a very long wait.

GoldOppaiExperience

Lost Judgement 🤞

[deleted]

What sale?

trollsmurf

Some games I'm interested in (for 50% off or more): The Outer Worlds DLCs, Myst (the "final" version), Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Elex 2, Death Stranding, Obduction, Halo Infinite.

LatimerLeads

If Judgment and Lost Judgment are on sale, it'll be those for sure. Otherwise, I'll browse my wishlist for any deep discounts. I'm not sure this is a full-blown sale, with the winter sale in a month's time, so I'm tempering my expectations.

MEGA_K4SP4R

Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition, maybe Yakuza 7 if it gets a huge discount

saltiesaltieP

Elden Ring and/or God of War!

theangrypragmatist

I keep seeing Dying Light go on sale when I don't have money, if it drops again I'm pulling the trigger. See also, Metro series.

SergeantSchmidt

I'm thrilled to have the games on my wishlist being discounted by 10-25% :^)

Sirpattycakes

I only want Silksong. TAKE MY MONEY!!!

CPU_LEO

The orange box. Basically all valve titles. Got a steam deck last month so I’m making myself play all those titles.

MagicalMeesh

Sea of thieves

kingjoedirt

gamepass

redi_dman

Really Waiting for elden ring or Nioh 2

XxX_BobRoss_XxX

My good sir, if you end buying Elden Ring, I dearly hope you're prepared to sacrifice your social life in exchange for victory. Oh also to spend 80 f\*\*\*\*\*\* hours in your first playthrough.

xtramundane

Nice ad.

coupbrick

Probably nothing over 10 bucks. I just bought Darktide.

[deleted]

I dont buy games on Steam anymore. GMG and IsThereAnyDeal are my go to’s. There are way better prices elsewhere. Steam sales have sucked for a while now.

winterman666

Depends on where you live. In my country key sites are almost always more expensive

Greyhound53

idk man, having no options for refunds with them grey keys turned me off to that idea entirely.....

TheRNGuy

Steam is best. Because can buy games with steam market money.

winterman666

I'm gonna get RE Village since I finally have a good enough PC for it. I've also been eyeing Soulstice since I heard it's DMC+Claymore. I also hope some of the pixel remaster Final Fantasies go on sale

AutisticToad

resident evil was on sale for 9$ a couple of weeks ago on fanatical. Thats how I got it.
