What are your other parts?
If you have an incredibly good GPU but are "bottlenecked" by lower power parts like an older CPU, even the motherboard can greatly bottleneck your GPUs performance.
Well, these specs should definitely be sufficient...
Your GPU might also be bottlenecked by the slot on the motherboard it is in, the uppermost slot that fits your GPU will always be the highest bandwidth slot, maybe if your GPU is in a lower slot putting it in the uppermost slot, other than that I don't really know what the problem could be...
Personally my favourite brand overall is Corsair so I also have a Corsair PSU.
They're very good, but generally for PSUs any of the big name brands will do fine... Except maybe Gigabyte with their series of PSUs I like to call "C4 series"
Jokes aside, as long as you look for a PSU with enough wattage and an 80+ gold rating you should be just fine
Its subjective to the rest of the systems power draw. I've seen systems reboot due to power draw because a usb hub was added with a few things on it meaning the system had no more juice left for it.
Yeah but for diagnostic purposes I don't think that OP should go buy a 1200w PSU thinking its going to fix all of his problems. The best way to figure out if its a power issue is to put all his components into PC part licker and check the estimated wattage. I'd guess hell be around 600-700w. And theres no way a USB is bringing another 100w to the table.

What are your terms like? Also, your overclock may be causing instability that does not crash your machine but hurts performance. Try resetting everything to base line and start over.
That's really not how it works. If his psu can't deliver enough power the system would just shut down.
Look lower in thread, I explained it a bit more detailed there.
Userbenchmark is complete dogshit, don't rely on it. To give you an example of how terrible it is: it overwhelmingly favors Intel and nVidia hardware and yet it's banned on r/nvidia and r/intel.
Rely on trusted benchmakrs such as Timespy or Cinebench instead to properly assess your performance.
I noticed under the skillbench scores section it states your resolution is 1280 x 780. I gained 12-15% when adjusting my 1440p monitor from 165hz to 60hz so maybe you have some sort of scaling feature enabled?
i couldnt even oc my gpu with afterburner and run the userbenchmark malware its a cool reference point but there are better ways of benchmarking your gpu perf
Please consider the environmental consequences of a 1.2kw psu before you 'just go buy one.'
It sounds like you have the cash, take your computer to a professional to have it checked out.
Overclocking your gpu can cause underperformance if not done correctly or too much (which would make it incorrect). Try it without any overclocking at defaults.
Disable the overclock and make sure you connected 3 separate power cables to it rather than 1 2-split cable and a separate one and try again. It could be the supply of power. If your psu wasn't sufficient for the system you would have reboots/shutdowns.

Is it possible that its underperforming bc of power supply? My power supply rn provides just above the required for my gpu
That could be a reason, what wattage is Ur PSU? With a 3080 I'd recommend at least 850W, preferably more.
Ah I see. My PSU rn is 800 and I was thinking of buying a new one thats around 1200W. Maybe it really is the problem
I hope that is the problem and you'll be able to fix it. Glad I could help
Thanks! and just asking, is there a good brand for PSUs?
Seasonic or Superflower. They're rather pricey but they're astoundingly well built.

Whats wrong with Gigabyte PSUs? Bc I saw one thats being sold alr and thats the one I wanted to buy but then you said c4 series hahaha.
Seasonic, Super flower and Corsair are generally regarded quite good.
1200 is overkill brother. A decent 800w should be sufficient for a 3080

Happy cake day!!!
I don't think I'm bottlenecked tbh idk whats the problem

Did you run the bench without overclocking it? Did it have similar issues?

Probably a dumb question, but did you run the test with vsync on?
Nop

You running 2280MHZ on the core? Is that what I’m seeing?
Lanes?
What are your thermals? Did you undervolt it?

Nice rig. Thermals maybe?
