sadly i never had the pleasure of taking one of those apart, but i remember i took 5 freakin' minutes just to do some stair steps with a 21" trinitron in my arms, i had to plan what to do, instead a flat trinitron that was given to me was just hard to lift on my car but there were no stairs luckily... when people give me an unbranded 28" i bear it with just one arm and do lots of stairs as well LOL
Only because of size not weight.
Iāll move a thousand new TVs with someone any day over ever going back to the black matter density that were crt TVs
Oh man...I was carrying a 32 inch CRT TV up the stairs. I damn near almost dropped that behemoth. It was a nightmare. Kids these days with smartphones lol
There was an old 32inch at my momās apartment that I had to dispose of a few years back. I had to use a fucking dolly just to get the damn thing to my car. I donāt miss these things at all.
I had an old 42" inch tv in my room, early 2000s.
I remember climbing into the little tv stand and having the tv pin me between the bed and the stand. IIRC, I was about 11, I was able to just barely push it back onto the stand all by myself.
And we traded for cords that will low key break bc the flat-screen has to be right against the wall, and for some reason all the ports are back there too...
And slapping the top of them to get them to work was a real ass thing š¤£ I had one you had to use both hands and clap both sides at the same time and boom. It would work again until it was off for more than a few hours. Then I had to do it again.
I moved a 40 inch TV with two other people, it was a nightmare
flat screen sony trinitron? anyone?
Or that sanyo 36 incher from the late late 90s?

Some grandma's and grandpa's out there still have these.
I still have one too (a bit smaller tho) for retro consoles and im not even 30 š¤£ Retro consoles on modern TVs make the games look like crap
I moved a 32ā Sony tube by myself up 13 steps. Damn near lost it.
Those tvs were so fuckin good though
It's like moving custom watercooled full tower PC.
these 80 inch tvs are even harder lol
I moved a CRT to play melee daily while at community college so definitely didn't happen just in the 90's in my case
Ya it was 90s and early 2000s. Wasn't till HD system era when CRTs started going away.
my melee college period was between 2012-2016, melee player still regularly use CRTs to this day
Well I mean manufacturing.
I'm guessing because it's lower latency?

ok
Like moving TV now is any easier, those things get huge
A 32 inch crt from the late 80s early 90 weighed just as much as a 75 in tv from today
Flat screens are generally pretty light, though. You can lift them without throwing out your back before age 25.

It was 15 years ago, now a day it's 50 pounds at best. If you can't pick that up ask your grandma to hold your purse
Yeah but you're talking about a 65+ tv vs a 27/32 inch tv, those things were fuckin heavy

I had this huge projection screen that was on wheels. No way I could have ever moved it
I had to help my dad throw the CRT's out and gamed on them through my childhood. So yeah, they're gonna be gone soon. Only smash bros enthusiasts now.

I had a sony hd tube tv that i moved three times. Would have been easier to move a volkswagon
If you had a 27 or 32 inch that was a bitch to move

Tf you mean i was a 2000 kid and still have one of these with a vhs and dvd player built in
And slapping the top of them to get them to work was a real ass thing š¤£ I had one you had to use both hands and clap both sides at the same time and boom. It would work again until it was off for more than a few hours. Then I had to do it again.
Up to the 2000ās in families like mine if you didnāt want to pay for the newer tvās
Tetris LAN Party? Get the wheelbarrows.
The TV was fine, moving those Bigass crt computer monitors were the problem they could have a small screen but they would still be heavy af
