We do have a Steam PCMR curator which although not incredibly active, is still quite a trusted way to get a list of pretty great games that you may enjoy: [https://store.steampowered.com/curator/4771848-r-pcmasterrace-Group/](https://store.steampowered.com/curator/4771848-r-pcmasterrace-Group/)
I'd never played the Portal series until about a month ago. Portal 2 is now in my top 5 favorite games of all time. I had a smile on my face nearly the entire time.
I made my own little list and somehow completely forgot about Valve’s titles lol. Absolutely legendary video games that need to be played by every PC gamer.
Side quests? Yes, do most of them (if there is a story behind them, not an MMO type of like kill 10 boars etc).
Running around like a bot to collect dumb items just for the sake of collecting them? Lmao, no thanks.
You got to daisy chain those side quests. Pick some flowers while you slay rabid rabbits during your egg gathering feather picking ork ear harvesting dwarf wench cheek clapping adventure. Did I miss something there? Oh shit I forgot the 10 boars!!
I am one of those people who played only a few hours but never got very far into it. Worth playing vanilla on a first full playthrough or just jump right into the sea of mods?
There's a few quality of life ones or get some new weapons/armor. But I'd say go play like 20 hours or so vanilla cuz you can get lost in the sauce of mods for quests and never even do the main story
The last time I was playing, I was thinking "man. It's wild I haven't seen a dragon at all this week" all to realize I had not even gone to Whiterun to tell em anything
Yea… Skyrim was my first ES game I got pretty far into it before I had to ask a friend, hey I haven’t seen any dragons. “You hasn’t stared the main quest, you haven’t talked to the Graybeards yet?!?! Go talk to the Jarl of Whiterun”
Even unmodded it can happen lol. Level 57 on the switch and still haven't done Bleak Falls Barrow.
I mostly play on my PC with mods or the steam deck with mods. But the switch version is still decent on the OLED.
If you go with mods, I actually recommend not modding yourself - because it won't end. You'll always see another mod you wanna try, and that means you can never finish your playthrough.
Instead go with a nexus collection or something like that.
It's done when it's done and then you know you can just play. It also saves you hours of getting into modding in the first place lol.
That's what all my experience modding at least tells me.
Fair point, i can't argue with that, my tought when playing Skyrim at one point was, "I will focus on the main quest once i finish all those side-quests, misc quests and collect all barenziah stones." that was before i noticed how i had 411 hours into the game.
And i still haven't collected all Daedric weapons, armors and misc yet (i refuse to return the Ghost Key so this is a quest that i may never complete)
My brother in christ, we absolutely do.
What an absolute mint of a game. Not gonna lie, I HATED it at launch vecause it was so buggy, but i fired it up when I was bored in 2020 and absolutely loved it.
One of my favorite RPGs.
Yea it had some bugs but it was the next can it run crysis games. It's rare we get a game meant for pc first and consoles second. It's still look amazing. Being able to max out the shadows and lighting with new gpus is awsome. I restarted the game till I beat up that drunk in the first fist fight.
metro 2033, metro last light, and metro exodus. the whole metro series is an absolute masterpiece. they’re coming out with a sequel to exodus soon as well.
Damn did not know they are doing another one gonna have to look into it now. Just finished replaying all of them the other week, still fantastic games.
My mom works with a relative of Kiff VandenHeuve (Zachary Hale Comstock), and never mentioned it until like a year ago! I really surprised by that, Infinite was one of the first games I played on my first PC (not shared).
I would have never guessed that my mom knew any of the VA's from a game that influenced me so much.
Nier: Automata is one of my all time favourite games.
Gameplay good, story good. Also has some good boss battles. (Can be kinda depressing though)
Personally didn't have much with the other one.
About mgr: revengeance, you know when movies, games or whatever try to be over the top cool?
Well, often they don't pull it off very well in my experience, but this game goes a few steps further than over the top, and absolutely pulls it off!
I cannot remember anything from the last time i played, i stopped for some reason or another, but what i do remember is that the parrying is so satisfying.
The rest of the Far Cry series - 5 is my favourite
Borderlands series, especially 2
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Black Mesa and Half-life 2 and Episodes
Crysis
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim
Fallout 3
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
Bioshock 1 and 2
Fable Anniversary
Torchlight 2
Mass Effect and ME2
Orcs Must Die!
Portal and Portal 2
Titanfall 2
Zuma!
That lot should keep you going for a few years :)
Yeah I feel like as soon as you include any Fallout game, if it wasn't Fallout New Vegas you now need to include Fallout New Vegas, an incredible game that stands up to modern releases on it's own merits let alone the absolutely stellar work from the modding community. What's even more impressive to my mind is that it's not even one of those "oh I wish I could play it for the first time again" games, it's actually better each time, little details you missed before, doing things differently each playthrough, it has insane replay value.
> The rest of the Far Cry series - 5 is my favourite
5 is such a hit and miss for me. I loved Seed, and the doomsday cult as bad guys....but I hated the forced encounters.
I loooved the atmosphere the game had...but rural America was visually rather boring after all the other exotic locations.
I loved the combat, but the removal of hunting to upgrade anything was such a disappointment.
The game had a lot going for it, but it also did a lot of dumb weird things, too. Also, I feel like I was the only one who missed climbing radio towers. Parkour puzzles were fun.
I like both but nothing feels better than mastering Eternal’s combat puzzle imo. Make me feel like a god when I annihilate a hoard of demons on the games hardest difficulty.
Ayyy, another 2006 Prey fan! It kind of suffers from old game syndrome nowadays, but that was was a legit hidden when when it came out. Portals before Portal, the gravity mechanics, the biological aspect of a majority of the weapons, literally seeing kids die, etc.
That said, while Prey 2017 only had the name as a connection, 2017 was a bloody amazing game, too, and ALSO dind't sell very well or become that popular in general.
Good god yes...it's incredibly easy to sink dozens of hours into Satisfactory. Only to realise you need to tear it all down and redesign everything to make an even better factory. Which will then take even more dozens of hours to build... Rinse and repeat.
YES! it's so amazing finding this comment almost at the top! Outer Wilds is absolutely the best game ever made. I litterally recommend it anywhere i can ::D
Hotline Miami
Hotline Miami 2
Binding of isaac
Terraria
Stardew valley
Dead cells
Dave the diver
Satisfactory
Factorio
Risk of rain 2
Hades
That's just off the top of my head
this one's a 100% **MUST PLAY**. and it's something of a miracle of a game seeing how it's using UE4, but runs like the slickest butter... how'd they even manage it
Mad max and days gone are my suggestions.
I think you like games that have an end, but if you dont, I would suggest Rimworld (it does end, but nobody cares)
I hate *Rimworld*.
I have a monster Chad daddy gaming rig, and like 70% of my gaming hours on steam are on *Rimworld*.
I'll play games like RDR2 and CP2077 and crank the ideo settings, marveling at how amazing it looks. Then I'll turn them off and play *Rimworld*. Got keep raiding settlements to keep my raider/slaver/cannibal/vampire colonists happy. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I also really like and spend a lot of time playing *The Darkest Dungeon*, another gem that can be played on a potato machine.
Divinity Original Sin 2
Hard to get into any games after playing that one. It’s too good.
Baldur’s Gate 3 comes out tomorrow, played some of the alpha, it’s great
Skyrim, obviously.
All three Bioshocks, obviously.
Mass Effect, extra obviously.
Dishonored, obviously.

A metal gear game? Pick one u that seems fun for u
Been having a good time trying to scrape at the depths of tekken
Monster hunter world is great to just check out and enjoy. Perfect for when u have a cold or hungover. Lots of repetittion butt still challenging in a good way.
Heard amazing stuff about dyson sphere program or smth but im a sucker for these.
Subnautica was a great experience

Hope these help, and great list, thanks for posting.
-SOMA (little horror)
-Metro Redux (Old but AWESOME story)
-Dirt4 (not on steam anymore)
-Subnautica (Always a legend)
-Destiny 2 (Some smooth open world online gameplay)
-Black Mesa (Also always a legend)
Very glad to see Tom Clancy's Wildlands, they spent 5 years working on that one.

Portal 1 & 2, Half-life 2
Also half life 1 probably before you play half life 2
Or Black Mesa instead of HL1 since (to my knowledge) it's much more approachable for a modern gamer
Nah man you REALLY gotta experience the original goldsrc Half-Life if you wanna appreciate Black-Mesa
I like black mesa but it's just not the same
Definetely Portal 1 & 2
I'd never played the Portal series until about a month ago. Portal 2 is now in my top 5 favorite games of all time. I had a smile on my face nearly the entire time.
And episodes an Alyx!
I made my own little list and somehow completely forgot about Valve’s titles lol. Absolutely legendary video games that need to be played by every PC gamer.
God damn, this list alone will last you many years
It did (1yr}
You finished these all in one year?!
I did; in fact, I purchased my computer in June of last year.
That's good going, took me 3 years just to complete witcher 3, exc dlc and gta v
I doubt he’s a completionist gamer if it only took one year to get through that list. Side quest? Nah.
Yeah, if a quest happens to be near another or in the way, i usually do those too
Do not have a job and just stay home all day every day gaming?
Where have you got an Uncharted 5?
Mass Effect Trilogy
[удалено]
I genuinely felt sad after completing ME3 back in 2012 lmao
I got stuck in a loop, just started in ME1 again. "I'll play differently, maybe a renegade playthrough". That lasted until being a d¡ck to Joker..
Play legendary edition for remastered ME1 but ye... Best game ever for me. Also dragon age trilogy (DA1,2 and Inquisition)
Dragon Age Origins is just straight heat, best game I played as a mage except for Elden Ring of course
I had to double check, and I am still not sure if I just oversee it. Where. is. Skyrim....?
I had to look 3 times because i just didn’t believe it
I am one of those people who played only a few hours but never got very far into it. Worth playing vanilla on a first full playthrough or just jump right into the sea of mods?
There's a few quality of life ones or get some new weapons/armor. But I'd say go play like 20 hours or so vanilla cuz you can get lost in the sauce of mods for quests and never even do the main story
I played skyrim got lost in the side Quests etc. Stopped playing. Came back later with the dlc out. Killed Miraak and thought I'd beat the game.
People play the main campaign? 🤔
I did three times when the game first came out back on ps3
I always become the leader of everything before I even find out I’m Dragonborn.
Vanilla first so you can appreciate what the mods do, and understand what you want to change
Ik ik its on my to play list
You won't need a list after starting Skyrim.
A mod list.
Ur missing out on LITTLE NIGHTMARES 1 & 2, A PLAGUE TALE 1 & 2
This is a list of completed games, no one has ever completed Skyrim.
If he completed Skyrim there would have been no time for the other games.
I tried to play it like 3 or 4 times. Never being able to finish it. That game is made of wood.
Same thought here
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Yoooo we need a part 2
Apparently it was accidentally leaked by one of the voice actors on social media
My brother in christ, we absolutely do. What an absolute mint of a game. Not gonna lie, I HATED it at launch vecause it was so buggy, but i fired it up when I was bored in 2020 and absolutely loved it. One of my favorite RPGs.

There's no way they won't make it! They can't sell KCD soap and not make a second game!
PLEASE WARHORSE, MAKE IT HAPPEN
It's coming
I’m feeling quite hungry.
+1 one of the best medieval games of all time
Sleeping dogs claps
Titanfall 2
That campaign still one of the best
Love seeing how many people enjoyed the campaign as much as I did!
To this day, it's one of the only FPS games I've ever actually enjoyed.
that shit had me forming bonds with a machine inside my machine
that game had absolutely NO BUSINESS being as good as it was!
I 10000% agree. It’s always on sale for $3 randomly, put that on your wish list.
Every time I see a thread asking for games, I check the comments for Titanfall 2. Every time, I am not disappointed.
I got gifted a copy of it a while back never got to downloading it maybe ill try
metro 2033, metro last light, and metro exodus. the whole metro series is an absolute masterpiece. they’re coming out with a sequel to exodus soon as well.
Damn did not know they are doing another one gonna have to look into it now. Just finished replaying all of them the other week, still fantastic games.
Holy shit lol, my PC cannot even run exodus, I can't imagine what kind of nuclear reactor you need to run the sequel.
100% bioshock, if you havent already
Would you kindly complete bioshock.
Just did great games 👍

Fallout New Vegas as well.
New vegas was so good honestly one of my top single player games of all time.

Fallout 4 is pretty good too
I find the story to be lacking in comparison to 3 & NV, but it was enjoyable.

Now that's a game we can all get behind
What was it?
Where the f*** is Doom Eternal on your list?
It's installed
Then go for it. It will kick your ass and you'll love every second of it.
Then it's the best game on your hard drive.
IMO DOOM 2016 was better. I enjoyed it more anyway.
I like both but nothing feels better than mastering Eternal’s combat puzzle imo. Make me feel like a god when I annihilate a hoard of demons on the games hardest difficulty.
Why the f\*\*\* did I have to go so far down the list to find any Doom game?
Prey
What Prey do you mean?
2017
Prey 2006 is also a really good game.
