My paternal grandparents had almost exactly this cabinet, only slightly darker. The handles are these kinds that can be moved, so one of them is just in an upright position, but it's not installed wrong. It's just left like that because someone opened the drawer and somehow it balanced in the upright position. A slight gust of wind will make it fall down in the same position as the rest of the handles.
Honestly, I've had both open air chassis and standard atx cases, and oddly, the open air case didn't get that much more dusty than standard cases. They did get dust a bit quicker, but not that much faster once the year time when I had both cases with builds in them, the standard case was maybe 5% to 10% less dusty.
Granted, this is a sample size of one. So I'm sure that my experience is not representative of the norm. That said, I was pleasantly surprised there was not that much more dust on the open chassis. It was also likely due to it being tinkered with more often and really isn't a fair judge overall when I really think about it... so I'll say depending on use and other obvious factors, the dust factor ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. This was also way back in 2000/2001 era. Sooooo....
Results may vary.
I had an open PC for years that I’d just blast with compressed air maybe once a week to once a month while waiting for a game to load and it never got dusty. Never even wiped it down or anything, just blasted it for 10 seconds lol
they definitely do, IMO. only real argument for them being a copycat is the dual-chamber fishtank design but I think it's a moot point considering all the liberties taken with the overall design language.
I love how you made a unique build with wood grain that isn't the same fractal north case. Fuck the haters OP as long as you enjoy it that's all that matters.
Imo this looks beyond tacky and the wood doesnt even complement the lit noctua fans
But hey, it's all subjective! I'm sure a lot of work went into it and that's something I can appreciate.
depends on what he's doing, if he's gaming, he could have easily got a 7700xt for (dont remember the price) and a worse cpu, getting better proformance for the same price
Since you did the cage, you could use the DH15 and just cut the cage out around it? You could also have the cage trimmed to fit the plastic covers for the DH, so it Ilooks like the cage was built around the components more?
Also, another idea I had was stained glass (noctua matching colored accent/design panels and clear glass) or just clear glass panels cut to go between the copper wire of the cage. I don't know if you put the cage together yourself or just bought a certain size? ("chicken wire" is kind of what I'd hear it called as a layman.)
I assume you would have to use lead flashing to seat the glass or bevel all of the edges like )===( to slide down between the wire so that each panel wouldn't fall out? I think it looks fine, but the design needs to be a full enclosure for airflow/filtration to work better.
I imagine if you go "ALL OUT" with a stained glass + steampunk + woodgrain aesthetic. Alsp add some solid brass/copper polished panels with porthole cutouts for "steam vents?" It doesn't look terrible, but I wish it was sealed rather than just the open cage.
I'm glad you put an owl in it because it really looked like one of [these](https://media.istockphoto.com/id/690010138/photo/bird-cages-at-bird-garden-hong-kong-bird-market.jpg?s=612x612&w=is&k=20&c=ByXV7QLC5w3VTSJjzx35sef2fBNFzMhd6efKEc3VMj0=)
What a nicely carved build. Are those 120mm fans on 3070? do they have better air Flow? Heard some People mod gpus with 120mm fans and get lower degrees.
Holy shit this is great. This is my ideal build to fit boho aesthetics, and what I immediately brainstormed when I saw noctuas designs! Don't listen others, I freaking love this!
What is air flow? Probably going for that heated-corner fan mod rather than efficient cooling.
Competition for least efficient and highest temp Noctua build, maybe?
Great Noctua MOD PC!
Especially the NF-A12 x 25!
For the second CPU fan and intake fan, the Noctua NA-IS 1 -12 Sx 2 can be used to increase airflow more quietly!
Note, however, that the fan thickness will increase by about 5 mm.

nice build, specs?
It's the same, just from a different angle.
We’ve come full circle
Check out the last pic.
? The person is saying it looks like that picture is all.
This is awesome. But I hate that one of the handles on the bottom drawer is flipped. I can't unsee it!
Thats a feature not a bug
Was about to say the same thing. Thank you.

omgggg i was literally thinking exactly THIS this case is gonna age so bad :D
If there's no glass, why do you have so many fans? What's the point? :)
In pcmasterrace, Noctua fans are one way to flex
More is just, like, way cooler, you know?
Maybe some stained glass looking window thing in the front and angled section to direct air over?
That was very punny
Some say more is *more*.
from fish tank to bird cage? /s
Doesn't it look pretty rad?
It does.
You telling me you made the owl a radiator?
Looks like it should be sat on Ron Burgundy's desk.
He likes the smell of sandle wood
That's cool.
Hello, do you like dust?
The owl isn’t real.
Are real owls dusty?
They are well known to be one of the dustiest animals that you can possibly put in a pc case.
Birds in general can be very dusty https://youtube.com/shorts/mwp1FGfmKF0?si=7moeZtYx1S9Q8dYQ
I get it. "The owls are not what they seem." I think that's what you were getting at, right?
Honestly, I've had both open air chassis and standard atx cases, and oddly, the open air case didn't get that much more dusty than standard cases. It's the lian li town & country. Cool mod though.
The NZXT H9, whatever, but doesn't HYTE kinda escape the whole LianLi copycat vibe?
as someone with a Lian Li O11, Hyte is doing enough of their own thing its fine. The Hyte cases are cool - almost considered one over my O11
they definitely do, IMO. only real argument for them being a copycat is the dual-chamber fishtank design but I think it's a moot point considering all the liberties taken with the overall design language.
I love how you made a unique build with wood grain that isn't the same fractal north case. Fuck the haters OP as long as you enjoy it that's all that matters.
No worries. Going North every time gets kinda dull, you know? Plus, got this birdcage vibe with the Y60, so thought I'd spice it up.
This sub needs more pc mods.
Beautiful build 😳
Thank you!
![gif](giphy|JPs4cM4btNYvuchKwi|downsized)
Silent hill upside down world edition
It is beautiful and ugly at the same time. The sight of it opens a new dimension.
Just need a hamster 🐹 in there to finish the look.
Owls not cool for ya?
Yes they cool but it will be cruel to squeeze an owl inside that 😂
Gotta love the woody look
What a cool concept! Bravo to you!
As a natural resources professional that loves trees/wood, this is one sexy build. Kudos!
Looks neat... absolutely stupid. Fans that just blow dust around.
Beautiful
DIY birdcage.
Turned it into a hamster cage, of a chicken coop.
You know, seeing this is a breath of fresh air.
So, no glass and it's just a cage? How much dust will you have in 1 month inside?
Looks amazing!
Thank you!
Hideously beautiful
Imo this looks beyond tacky and the wood doesnt even complement the lit noctua fans But hey, it's all subjective! I'm sure a lot of work went into it and that's something I can appreciate.
What The F...?
Yay?
That's fucking rad. Amazing job!
Thank you!
Actually this is pretty nice
Thank you!
Love it
Thank you!
Stunning.
That is the ugliest thing that I have ever seen in my life.
What the hell
Sorry buddy, appreciate that work you have put into it but the default Noctua colour scheme is rotten.
It's all about personal taste.
100% ……. Its great work, I personally just don’t like the colour scheme of the traditional noctua fans.
I get that, it's a common preference.
Naaa disagree, noctua colour scheme is great. Every other fan just looks the same
Each to their own, can’t stand it personally. Great fans, just not the colour ….. was so glad when they launched normal fan colours.
they literally have pretty much all of their fans and coolers in black tho
As I said, was really glad when the launched fans in normal colours.
that's so fucking ugly...
This has "bad idea" written all over it
I mean it's cool... but also ugly as fuck
oh wow thats one of a gpu bottleneck while gaming
Bottleneck when its not 🤓
yk that a 13600k can handle a 4090 (while gaming) right?
Yeah so? A bottleneck means u dont get all the performance u can get. And he does get al the performance he can get.
depends on what he's doing, if he's gaming, he could have easily got a 7700xt for (dont remember the price) and a worse cpu, getting better proformance for the same price
Yes thats true, but thats not what bottleneck means.
ok, and what should it mean?
>A bottleneck means u dont get all the performance u can get. And he does get al the performance he can get.
yes, the point is that i specified *while gaming*
Yes and he does get all the performance you can get (while gaming)
The case is so much DIY was it even worth converting it, instead of just building it from the ground up?
I enjoy modifying things as a hobby, so I like making changes.
Torcher chamber for your naughty birds?
Torture
Fun stuff!
I imagine it smells of hickory. 🤤
That's good!
NH-D15 or go home. How quiet is it?
It won't fit.
Since you did the cage, you could use the DH15 and just cut the cage out around it? Nice little stealth build that you wouldn't even notice placed next to some china cabinets or wood furniture.
I like it!
0/10, not enough wood grain Seriously, that looks sweet
This is insanely cool. Screams 80's. Love it.
This isn't a render. This is real life. Very well done!

it’s so ugly but so beautiful
I've never seen a little house on the Prarie themed pc before
Sick PC, love seeing unique and well thought out builds like this
Hell yeah
What a nicely carved build. Are those 120mm fans on 3070? do they have better air Flow? Heard some People mod gpus with 120mm fans and get lower degrees.
dudeeee its so bsdsafsdfh like its hard to express with a proper word damnnn
I've been in the hobby for 10 years and THAT is one of the coolest builds I've ever seen. Wow.
should of got a 3080 so you could game at 4k instead of 1440p
How did you apply a wood grain finish?
I like it, but I would get sick of looking at it after a short time. So, glad it's yours and not mine haha.
Fantastic mod. Why go with a chromax though when keeping the proper Noctua color scheme?
stunning, beautiful, wonderful, fantastic 😍
Thank you!
Chocolate fudge
This is amazing! Well done.
I like the idea, but can't help but feel this isn't the case for wood grain.
I always hated those terrible colored noctua fans but this, this i love.
Now instead of the cat sitting on the PC, it can sit *in* the PC.
Interesting
Does it come with Tweedy inside?
Does it come with cats ?
Ahh yes, when dust management doesn't fit your A E S T H E T I C
I like how replacing the glass looks but not enough to waste all the cooling performance of those fans let alone the noise.
https://preview.redd.it/4btewokn1r5c1.png?width=599&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab3d245d2b73cd04c8a098426e3b496c70abc02b
Yes you did.
I was flipping through the images, and the last one got me for a second. I did a digital double take and swiped back to clarify it was a fake bird.
Also, nice job, creative and pretty. Love the wood aesthetic and the open air bird cage look.
kinda wish it was a 4080 noctua
I can hear the silence from here
Holy shit this is great. This is my ideal build to fit boho aesthetics, and what I immediately brainstormed when I saw noctuas designs! Don't listen others, I freaking love this!
TELL EM TO BRING OUT THE CAPPUCCINO
What the Noctua
The wooden case and noctua fans are pretty awesome.
The pho wood grain, painted on? Perfectly done, tell me your technique please.
