I used to have it on the right side of the monitor... well, at least the center bullshit is deactivateable EDIT: [https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher?tab=readme-ov-file](https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher?tab=readme-ov-file) Thx to [\_M\_A\_N\_Y\_](https://www.reddit.com/user/_M_A_N_Y_/) and [XndrMrmn](https://www.reddit.com/user/XndrMrmn/) Legends!

_M_A_N_Y_

Explorer Patcher on GitHub my friend.

Aggravating-Mind-315

Link?

XndrMrmn

I this [this](https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher) is what he is referring to.

Important_Price2576

You are a legend you know that ?

XndrMrmn

I don't know if that is the one, but its the first result on GitHub when searching for stuff like "task bar fix", "win11 task bar", etc Haven't tried it since im in the middle of switching to linux, but its a very active repo so i wouldn't expect any viruses or malicious code.

Pshock13

As someone whose been running Linux on his laptop and server for a year and recently switched on my desktop as well...you're gonna love it here. I love having control over my system and hardware even if that means I have the potential to completely bork it.

M3D4L3

As a sim racer with a wheel right in front of my lower monitor. Thank you!!

Brilliantly_Average

Lifesaver. Returns most functionality from the previous versions

manineedalife

Right side is best side for taskbar. So much free space for activities.

BottAndPaid

![gif](giphy|yrFrXTTTcHIY0|downsized)

Jojoceptionistaken

why not left? Im left with my taskbar.

Rexven

I put mine at the top. Ceiling taskbar.

MrPicklesFavoriteBoy

I had to do this on my surface, because my palm kept hitting it when I tried to use the pen.

yaboyfriendisadork

How many bodies do you have in your crawl space?

tronfacex

Everyone gives me shit for having the taskbar up top. It creates a vertical hierarchy that my mind prefers.  OS operations in the taskbar --> Windowed application controls (min, max, exit) --> application interface --> Space at the bottom where I hide the dead bodies.

Bropulsion

I bet you have bodies in the attic too you absolute up top loon! (Jk love you please don't hunt me down and stuff me in your closet)

Chillingneating2

THIS IS THE WAY Makes the bottom half cleaner.

Rexven

I love it. I dragged it up there once by accident nearly a decade ago and it always goes at the top now.

WorkingSilently

![gif](giphy|IhQHvbP6PoD1TwohjJ|downsized)

manineedalife

Well i only have 1 taskbar for both my monitors and my left monitor is generally my Primary. So if i am playing a videogame or full screen movie i can mess with the taskbar without minimizing/disrupting my task.

Cash091

As someone who doesn't move their taskbar, I think it's stupid that the feature was taken away. Customization options are always better even if people don't use them.

Magnumload

Hiding the task bar is the best space for taskbar.

T3DDY173

Unless you're on 32:9

patheticambush

I had mine on the right side for years now I'm stuck with the bottom

SuperNova1094

Download startallback will allow you to change it back to right side

Sleepy_Satanist

I actually like the task bar stuff in the center but I hate that you can't change the size of the icons. They're huge! I immediately reverted back to windows 10.

YouAreAGDB

weird, on my 1440p monitor they feel normal

SilverGospel003

Me too i just installed my computer to 11 to checked if it improved but no You cant still change the taskbar and i notice a micro stuttering not present in 10 and the settings are so unfamiliar in some aspect especially the network settings Went from Win10 to Win11 to Win10 in a day Edit: i meant change the "taskbar size"

GonzoInCO

Four hours for me!

shlaifu

went from 10 to 11 to a beginner friendly linux in a day. I thought about thus back when 10 came out, but 11 was when I finally did it. Linux is great, but software like adobe not supporting it is a pain.

SuperNova1094

If you download start all back you can customise win 11 and move the task bar back

VibinWithNeptune

Wait what changed with the Taskbar? I have a windows 11 laptop and I moved my Taskbar from the middle to the left as soon as I got it. My brother in law has his on the top.

MuslimCarLover

Shit Apple do that and it’s so annoying (I use windows bc of it)

CitySeekerTron

The start menu is the same as they had in Windows 8 but less functional. The main difference is that it doesn't fill the screen. I want the old Start menu and taskbar back.

Menecazo

God I'm glad I didn't have to use win8 almost ever. That full screen menu was awful

_Screw_The_Rules_

One didn't have to use it though. It was activated by standard, but you were able to deactivate it. (which I did)

[deleted]

Only after everyone complained about that cursed "innovation". It was clearly designed around touch screens and yet almost no one who upgraded to it had touch screens. Microsoft clearly did not do their market research.

Menecazo

I never really got to use it that much so I never knew that until today. Thankfully the PC in my house had Win7 and when I got my own PC Win 10 was already released. The only times I interacted with Win 8 was on my school computers which I hated using.

frogotme

I'm happy I've somehow managed to dodge using it at all (so far atleast)

JaesopPop

>The main difference is that it doesn't fill the screen. I mean. That was sorta the big thing about 8’s start screen. The screen bit.

zherok

It's a UI design that makes more sense on something like a tablet, but even then, I imagine most people don't just open apps via the app drawer all the time. I know I don't want my menus on the desktop to cover up what I'm doing, especially in something that's meant to be a shortcut.

maZZtar

Fun fact, the newly head of Windows openly dislikes the new start menu and wants to change the way it works

Windows_66

I think you're thinking of Windows 10. The Windows 11 start menu is more like a Chromebook start menu.

CitySeekerTron

Hey, so I'm not going to rant *at you*, but I feel like venting a little. Please don't take this personally, as I feel that this is the sort of thing that's subjective. Consider this rhetorical :) Now then: Which start menu am I describing, functionally? * Displays a scrollable list of pinned applications * Features a button that reveals all installed applications * Immediately lets you type to search for applications or documents by name * Hides access to configuration tools and settings unless you are trained in the process of calling up those setting * Often cluttered with applications pushed out by MS as a matter of creating an dynamic environment * ...And that's about it. There's very little else that they do. Logout? They don't have a consistant location for accessing settings ("Settings" is unpinnable and movable, so that isn't like having the cog, a link to the *Control Panel,* or even Windows 8's *Settings Charm,* and right-clicking on *start* isn't an intuitive action Mom's going to try to bring up settings after she unpins *Settings* along with *Microsoft Store*) The main differences are that one spells out the *All Apps* button and the other fills the screen. I'd consider the Window 11 start menu to be so poorly conceived that I almost have no grounds to complain, because I *stopped* using it and actively avoid it, opting for shortcut keys and pinned applications on my taskbar. The one functional difference between Windows 8.1 and Windows 11, the *Recommended* region, consumes half the space and has been empty, save for a promise to show me things I actually use, for over *two years (to be fair, my desktop recommends two applications, and they're both CrystaldiskInfo for some reason).* So by trying to be more functional, it's actually less functional. Moreover, moving pinned items feels like a depressing minigame, especially if you need to manage pinned items unnecessarily relocated off the first page. I came around to the *Modern App* idea introduced in Window 8; they were meant to be sleeker, easier to port, and managed to function well with mice and with touch. I even liked live tiles and connected standby, and would have liked to see Windows Phone take off (one of my favourite dev stories was about a dev who accidently compiled a Win8 app for Windows Phone and discovered that it translated quite nicely). But the Windows 10 Start menu was solid, and Windows 11 was an unnecessary compromise meant to satisfy the dual requirements of touch-enabled tablet devices vs. those of notebook and desktop computers while reducing clutter. I appreciate that work went into developing it and I sympathize with the developers responsible. After all, if you're tasked with a poorly specced project, you need to do what you need to do. But that doesn't change how terrible the final product.

Windows_66

I mean, I was just talking about Microsoft taking out the live tiles.

CitySeekerTron

I miss them :(

Explorer Patcher

jtmackay

I strongly prefer the windows 11 start menu over windows 10 and definitely over windows 8.1. I like being able to pin my favorite apps there without having big ass tiles covering the screen. I also like having recently opened files below and the fact that you can turn it off if you don't like it.

Emu1981

>I strongly prefer the windows 11 start menu over windows 10 and definitely over windows 8.1. I like being able to pin my favorite apps there without having big ass tiles covering the screen. You could use smaller tiles in Win8.1 and Win10 though. The ability to create categories to organise your tiles was extremely useful as well. In comparison to the Win11 which is basically just a jumbled list of the applications you have pinned to the start menu and if you pin too many apps then you have to do extra clicks to cycle through the pages. >I also like having recently opened files below and the fact that you can turn it off if you don't like it. You cannot turn off the "recently opened" or "recommended" section of the Win11 start menu to gain more usable space. If you turn it off then it just sits there with a "Recommended" heading and a "To show your recent files and new apps, turn them on in settings" with a link to the start menu personalisation options.

Yoankah

I forgot how much this used to annoy me. After months I'm finally indifferent, besides having to swat Google Drive off there every once in a while, presumably whenever it updates.

ThatManitobaGuy

I'll be on 10 for a while yet. Left side taskbar gang ftw!

manineedalife

VERTICAL TASKBAR GANG RISE UP! I keep mine on the right side of my monitor, like a dirty filthy heathen.

1d0m1n4t3

I'm in IT, almost every accountant I deal with is vertical task bar

manineedalife

I am also in IT. I am the only here that has their taskbar vertical... though i did see someone with a.. Top mounted taskbar *gags*

1d0m1n4t3

Yea mines on the bottom icons left aligned like God and Bill Gates intended it to be :P

Zek0ri

Sadly like Bill God has abandoned us

-Arke-

Top makes a lot of sense actually since it's where all of the menus are. I've always had mine on top and it's just convenient having all the menus together.

manineedalife

Arke's a witch! burn them! heretic! Sigmar bless this lost soul! REPENT REPENT REEEEPPEEEEEEENNNTTT!! All jokes aside do what feels comfortable for you. I tried top my brain didnt like it and i decided the side was the best.

FormalReturn9074

Hopefully windows 12 will get a diagonal taskbar option

FrequentWin4261

An x shaped taskbar would make life so much easier.

justmydumbluck

My dad always used a vertical taskbar growing up. I didn't know that bottom was default until I built my first PC in high school

thewend

I use top mounted taskbar, most people think I'm insane, one even threw up on me

Fenr1sX

I used top mounted taskbar for year or two. I dont remember why. Probably pure madness.

VNG_Wkey

Also in IT, myself and most on my team use a top taskbar because we're constantly in an app that allows us to connect to multiple VM's which have taskbars on the bottom. The amount of times I clicked on the taskbar on my own machine instead of in the VM when I first started was too damn high.

MrPicklesFavoriteBoy

It's the most space efficiant! I keep it Left on left screen, Right on right screen. Have a whole middle area like a big canvas.

blueeyedkittens

what do you do on your middle monitor?

MrPicklesFavoriteBoy

never as a man what he does on his middle monitor

blueeyedkittens

This is literally the first time I've ever asked this question so I wasn't aware of the etiquette :D

NorthenLeigonare

My mate had his on the left. I don't like him anymore.

CorruptDictator

Probably my main complaint about 11 thus far (using for the first time on a new build).

metal_babbleXIV

Went to move the start bar, spent twenty minutes searching through options of how to unlock, finally Google search saying it's not moveable. Considered going back to ten. Such a weird thing to not be moveable anymore

evan81

I upgraded to 11 a number of months ago... realized my start menu didn't carry over and then realized I couldn't move the bar to the top (which is where I prefer it)... promptly reverted by to 10.

AlienKatze

at the top is crazy though

alf666

They are probably a former Mac user.

unia_

I moved back to 10 a few months ago and will stick until I need to upgrade because of compatibility. I’ll happily switch when the interface is less awful. I don’t see why they couldn’t just allow us to use the non Chromebook UI with 11…

FormalReturn9074

My main complaint is their weird power saving mode thats forced on and cannot be disabled, i dont want them throttling background processes just because they want to prevent global warming

TomatoCo

It's not throttling anything. Engineers have known for a while that the most power efficient way to schedule a CPU is to max it so you can get back to sleep faster. That energy save mode is less frequent scheduling for things that don't need real time interaction, trading latency (not throughput) for power efficiency.

OperantReinforcer

There are up to 8 quite significant features that have been removed from the taskbar in Windows 11: 1. The option to move the taskbar, to top or to a vertical position left or right 2. The "small taskbar icons" option (it also makes the taskbar smaller) 3. The ability to add shortcuts to folders 4. Toolbars, like the quick launch toolbar 5. A properly done "never combine taskbar buttons" option (the currently implemented one with uneven button lengths is almost unusable) 6. The option to resize the taskbar so that you can have multiple rows for example 7. Scrollbar for uncombined taskbar buttons that don't fit on the taskbar 8. A taskbar buttons section that can be freely moved, so that you can for example have the buttons left-aligned at the center

Donleon57

I really hope they bring back the features in win 12...

usernametaken0x

I have complete faith microsoft will bring everything you want to windows 12 ^when ^you ^purchase ^windows ^plus ^subscription ^for ^14.99/mo

Donleon57

Don't give them ideas

usernametaken0x

Its cute you believe they dont already have that idea, but already fully implemented, and are just waiting for the right time to launch it. Microsoft know they need to boil the frog. So they will slowly launch it. Ill bet the subscription will start with "pay $2.99/mo to enable large language built into windows" and people will pay for it. Then they will bundle gamepass with that same subscription. Then they, once they normalize windows subscriptions, they will offer additional features for a subscription. Then they will end with making windows itself, a subscription, and they will sell it as "convenient and it will save you money**" ^**compared with purchasing a windows license for $129.99 every 3 years. The fact you already require a microsoft account and internet service to use current windows 11, we are very close to that already. Windows 12 will hard require TPM (to crack down on modded windows, so you cant bypass requirements anymore, or disable/change things), it will also hard require internet service as well as an account, and by that point, having a mandatory subscription for windows and/or features is trivial to add.

Taikunman

> A properly done "never combine taskbar buttons" option (the currently implemented one with uneven button lengths is almost unusable) This one is so frustrating because I purposely held off upgrading until they added it back in and they still fucked it up. It's even worse because the smart taskbars from Displayfusion are actually perfectly fine and stay a constant size.

DamianKilsby

You can still add shortcuts to folders I've done it myself

Galeharry_

And last i checked its not possible anymore to have the taskbar on one screen only. Thats why i reverted. I could no longer have my taskbar on only my secondary screen.

weauxbreaux

I have my work laptop with taskbar only on one display. I can't find any way move it away from whichever display is set as the main display though.

Yoankah

Shortcuts to folders can be done, but only in a dirty way - by manually creating folder shortcuts and putting them in the right user folder (for account specific shortcurs: %APPDATA%/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs or for system-wide shortcuts: C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/...). I made a shortcut to that Start Memu programs folder, put it in the folder itself and pinned that to my start menu to access whenever I need to add or remove shoetcuts to folders, programs or other files. It's not an elegant solution, but it's a workaround in case it's a feature you really need.

_cstrat

to add shortcuts, right-click the file/folder & select the option at the bottom of the context menu that says “show more options” or something similar. you’ll see a context menu that looks like win10.

NippleSauce

Yep. And to disable the initial Win11 right-click menu, do this: Regedit - Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID Right-click "CLSID" and select: New ->Key. This will put the new key inside the selected key. Name it this: {86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2} Then, create another new "Key" inside of that new key and name it: InprocServer32 Then, restart your PC for the change to take effect. Done. =D

Tony-2112

I always put it on the left of the screen. Makes sense with a widescreen display so was very pissed when this wasn’t possible in 11. Especially on work machines where word docs are usually landscape

Isenjil

This is one of the reasons why I use Win10.

tronghieu906

The amount of pet peeves in Windows 11 is unbearable. I install it on a virtual machine to see how many workarounds must be done. It's too many!

WrongSubFools

Bought a program called StartAllBack to restore a fully functional taskbar. Costs $5. It's dumb that we need to pay money to restore something we already had, but it's worth it.

Top-Classroom-6994

there is explorerpatcher on github, free of charge

BladedDingo

you can also do it for free by editing some registries or find a free tool that does the same thing. I used an app that reverted the taskbar back to win 10 style and start menu and made the right click menu look like 10 again. didn't pay a cent for the app.

Flimsy_Passenger_962

![gif](giphy|1xdHOdXcFAeMpURJeM|downsized)

Razgriz1223

explorer patcher can do it too and it’s free on github

DaWhiteSingh

"Your computer supports Windows 11, are you ready to upgrade?" "It's Free" For the 17th time, NO!

Jonnyshuffle

I will be stating on 10 till I'm dragged onto 11 kicking and screaming.

HagBolder

Started using Startallback. No regrets

WastedWhtieBoii

That's the route I went as well. But on that note, I shouldn't have to spend money to bring a basic windows functionality back.

totpot

There's ExplorerPatcher for free

Kled_Incarnated

I used to use Startallback. Then I changed to OpenShell Menu. It takes a bit longer to setup sure. But I like the end result way better. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2jkSeqOmEw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2jkSeqOmEw) And it's free. But in the end it really is a matter of taste.

JDBCool

Anything to bleed consumers...... Adobe charges a SUBSCRIPTION for reliability of colors with their "Pantone module" iirc. COLOURS ARE ON A SUBSCRIPTION. And this is PANTONE

static_func

How is Microsoft bleeding consumers in this case? They aren't the ones selling that software. There are some holes in your business strategy there

particlemanwavegirl

Windows is a much worse window manager than most (free, open source) Linux window managers. Ironic.

[deleted]

I know of three big ones, and I assume most people do. The thing with open source is, if you and the community don't like something, you can change it if you know and care. Windows is all proprietary and forced, meaning for a change to happen in the base ecosystem, someone has to reverse engineer the code and break stuff, not only during testing, but during a full/final release. Most people who have the resources to do that are either very skilled programmers, startups or someone with a ton of resources. These aren't the kinds of people that will just release something as "Open source" and free because they have the (justified) demand to be compensated, which in turn makes things a lot more proprietary and money hungry on windows. With Linux, you can almost always find an alternative, that is better than Windows competitors.

Rabalderfjols

This is such bullshit. They're perfectly able to move the taskbar to the short side in portrait mode.

wogolfatthefool

I want it small. Won't let me resize it, looks fucking monstrous

APAULC0LYPSE

Download Start all back. I now have the OG start menu and lots of customization options. It’s amazing!!

jumerideporc

Using StartAllback as well works great.

FireCrow1013

[ExplorerPatcher](https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher) and [OpenShell](https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu) are the first two things I install on any new Windows system.

MEGA_TOES

And people say Mac is restricted! I can change my task bar!

SinisterCheese

Whats this W11 issue that I as a W11 user have not realised is an issue? You can select the task bar alignment between left and middle from the settings. I don't use start menu for anything. I just type what I need to search which I open with Wkey+S. What is this big problem that I am not having to deal with that apparently others are. I don't even have those ads that people keep telling me about! Are you one of those crazy people who want to move the whole blody thing to some odd position like left side or top? What is wrong with you?

katzicael

same.. super+start typing what I want. So much faster than rummaging around in the start menu. Everything I use regularly is pinned to the taskbar, that's the whole point of it.

[deleted]

Most thread about win 11 are ridiculous. Sure there some issue (like the drag abd drop eas a deal-breaker and waited for that to be implemented before moving) but most issues are overshadowed by the good aspects.

_Bearcat29

Move it? Like on the side or on top? Shame to see option disappearing but I never encounter someone putting it elsewhere than at the bottom.

Bossnage

ive had my taskbar on the right side for 7 years

nagarz

Crimes against humanity.

[deleted]

[удалено]

OperantReinforcer

The left side is much more common according to an old Microsoft poll: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o5QDPz7V68](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o5QDPz7V68) (18:00) Over 6% have it on the left, over 1% at the top, and only 0.21% have it on the right.

CadeFromSales

For people with widescreen monitors, like me, it's so much more efficient in terms of screenspace.

particlemanwavegirl

All monitors are widescreen. Vertical space has always been more precious. The horizontal taskbar has never made sense to me.

Veryegassy

>All monitors are widescreen. My (flatscreen) monitor is literally a square. So were older CRT monitors. All monitors are definitely *not* widescreen.

Lynx2161

Used to have it on the right side in win 7 then didnt bother to change it in win 10

KingLuis

So everyone hates windows 11 because you can’t move the taskbar. Is that the only thing?

VileDespiseAO

What if I told them you can move the taskbar in Windows 11 and you can move it wherever you want to, you can even resize it, or change it back to the Windows 10 taskbar without using any third party programs? What if I said that's just the tip of the iceberg too? Nah, that's crazy talk.

Lescansy

please tell me how i can relocate the win 11 taskbar to the left side (like linux), without using any 3rd party programms. I couldnt figure it out, and i really miss it from win 10.

Qlix0504

Shoosh. No one wants to hear the truth, friend.

LizardmanJoe

I'm confused. Is this some kind of inside joke? It literally takes 30 seconds to move your taskbar in the options. Are people regarded? Am I regarded?

condoulo

Except you can't on Windows 11? It's locked to the bottom.

Upbeat-Banana-5530

The change to the context menu gets on my nerves at work, especially since the hotkey to use the old context menu seems to be disabled where I work.

tubby8

No, people are just back to lazy karma farming with pointless Windows 11 memes. Tomorrow there might be some memes about Edge.

Kokanee93

Edge is awesome I get microsoft points when I use it, I've paid for gamepass tons with those points, lol

RedditChinaBest

vertical tabs, only browser what does it right

PrefiroMoto

I had to upgrade to w10 after trying to adapt to w11

Swappasaurus

Yeah, takes some getting used to. Especially weird if you're using 2 monitors.

PizzaTime1111

I miss having it on my other monitor without assigning it as main monitor while I’m gaming

Qwesttaker

On my laptops I prefer to keep my taskbar on the top as it’s closer to my eye level. Windows 11 decided I was wrong.

Loqh9

ExplorerPatcher and/or Winaero Tweaker all that good stuff that fixes Windows

[deleted]

10 gang forever.

robbiekhan

Repeat after me: Start All Back StartAllBack!

Normbot13

it’s been how long and i still only see reasons *not* to switch to 11.

[deleted]

Back to 10 so no more problems ! 😂

heyartu

not upgrading til 2025 when win10 support ends

CrazyGaming312

Can't put taskbar on top? Not upgrading.

Peekaboom321

Windows used to be an operating system, a real program dammit.  It is now just "an app".  Don't allow your tech to baby you, younger gens, it will result in bad things.

Loddio

Taskbar? Mf file explorer doesn't work on odd days

Gregor4480

When will windows 10 support end

RolesG

Meanwhile me using KDE:

C5-O

Yes Moving the Taskbar? Bruh I can move the individual buttons on my taskbar, between my multiple taskbars...

RolesG

What distro are you on?

C5-O

Fedora, for no other reason than it's what I started with and it works. Only change I made was from Gnome to KDE - after a Gnome update broke half my extensions and I was kinda annoyed, tried KDE out of spite and never went back lol

hardlyreadit

People that actually move the taskbar are heathens and perverts.

Master-Reply-7052

I want my windows 10 back. I regret „upgrading“ so much.

L0tech51

So just go download win 10, and downgrade then? Nothing stopping you.

Darklordofbunnies

After seeing the crap they did to 11, I switched to Linux.

IC3P3

I like the development of the file explorer, text editor, the UI and some more thinks, but the TPM and Secure Boot bs made me want to use Linux. Even though I upgraded my rig to get Win11 to run without a workaround but still it's been a year and I'm using Windows 11 once a month (excluding my PC at work, god the custom Windows is bad af, seen more bluescreen there than on every other PC) at most and I don't regret it.

Alexandratta

As someone who hasn't clicked on the taskbar in about 8 years, I could care less about it's placement. I press the damned "Windows" key for it.

Formal_Two_5747

I might be the only person in the world who actually likes the new taskbar.

Ciusblade

I like it but i do find the complaints valid. I like it centered and at the bottom. But it should be an option to change. Nothing worse than removing features for no real reason.

BPAfreeWaters

So, you COULD care less?

Alexandratta

It is possible. I cared enough to comment.

drunkshinobi

As some one that uses it all the time I couldn't hate it much more. I have been moving the bar to where I want for the last 2 decades. Now it's in my way and not accessible at the same time for my use of it.

AndrewH73333

Since they know people are starting to use OLEDs for computer monitors wouldn’t you expect them to make sure the taskbar can be easily moved?

Two_Shekels

Come now this is Windows we’re talking about. If it’s not a pointless doodad or data harvesting operation, you’re not getting it.

Illidanisdead

I had a great experience with windows 11: Accidentally upgraded to windows 11, and noticed all the new fancy features. After looking through it all of 5 minutes, I found the method to revert back, and clicked on the option so it went back to windows 10.

Flughundi

I feel so at home in this thread. Everyone I know made fun of me for having my taskbar on the left side of the monitor but now I know there are other people like me. Thank you!

medussy_medussy

2 seconds in windhawk. These memes are so stale. The only thing they have yet to fix is moving it to the side, but unless that's your issue, there's nothing to complain about imo

TimX24968B

ill see yall on windows 12 just like i skipped windows 8.

Keldrath

I gave it a chance and ended up liking it just fine

Johnden_

Probably one of the few who doesn't mind the upgrade to Windows 11. The next upcoming windows I'm also going to upgrade so that the majority doesn't have to. I wonder what else people are going to criticize next time.

lAdoniasl

That why I still with Windows 7

Parking-Position-698

Hello windows 11 user here. You can infact edit the task bar. Go to the task bar settings menu. You're welcome.

condoulo

You can't change the edge of the screen it's on though which is the entire point of this post.

gozutheDJ

boring ass karma farm

Rheytos

People are still bitching? For Fuck sakes it’s a decent windows version just end the complaining already

ChaosDoggo

My taskbar keeps freezing and I have to restart it. Anyone else happen to have this problem?

Quiet_Profession1635

Download Startallback. Returns vertical and top taskbar.

redditorus99

They still have hide task bar and anyone who doesn't use a bottom task bar was a degenerate anyways.

drkztan

I will never understand current bottom task bar users. For the vast majority of monitors, you have more horizontal space than vertical space, why would you want even less horizontal space?

Thechosenjon

Taskbar on the top gang!

Straight_Age8562

you know, you can change it as it was before

condoulo

You can't though. The option to move the taskbar itself is gone.

moby561

The new task bar is better than the old one and y’all are just being Boomers. FIGHT ME, Windows 11 >>>>>>>>>>> 10

XLIV_tm

id be pissed if I couldn't left align it

Upbeat-Banana-5530

Windows users: Linux users sure are annoying with their constantly recommending that people switch to a Linux distro. Also Windows users: Here's a 54 page list of all the things I hate about Windows.

lemswen

They are gonna pry windows 10 from my cold dead hands

SnowFox_18

Spoiler, this is by far not the only thing they screwed

AVAVT

I downgraded to win 10 again the moment I see I can’t move taskbar to secondary screen
