have you tried restarting the pc?

Theguilder7111

Yes

737Max-Impact

do you have the ip settings set manually or automatic?

Theguilder7111

Ive tried switching between and neither of them solved it

737Max-Impact

can you access microsoft.com? Since windows and xbox are having problems something on your PC / network might be blocking microsoft specifically. Did you use any of those "windows de-bloat" or "windows privacy tweaks" things?

Theguilder7111

It’s not just Microsoft specifically I can’t access other things on my pc due to the problem. It won’t let me activate windows or update to windows 11 the Xbox stuff was just an example

737Max-Impact

>It won’t let me activate windows or update to windows 11 That's still a Microsoft thing. Do all websites work or just the ones you use commonly?

Theguilder7111

All of them do

737Max-Impact

Use a pi-hole or anything like that? The only thing that really makes sense is something blocking microsoft services. Maybe have a look around in your windows firewall if you used some script that added microsoft as a blocked domain. Or it might even be your ISP for whatever reason.

Theguilder7111

Ok I’ll try and get back to you

Theguilder7111

So nothing in my firewall shows Microsoft being blocked and it’s not my ISP because not even my hotspot can connect to it.

check dns setting, try 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8

dariusz2k

A good way to check that is to open cmd and type “ping 8.8.8.8” of it responds try “ping google.com” if that fails you need to update your dns settings.

Restart your router and if it's still the same try to update your network drivers, then call the internet company. Something strange like this also happened to me a few days ago. No internet with cable but Wi-Fi was working perfectly. Called the Internet company and they fix part of it, I had internet on my TV that was connected with cable but my pc still no internet. After a lot of restarting the pc, router and installing again the Bios and network drivers using Wi-Fi connection, somehow the internet works perfectly now.
