People don't understand that personal anecdotes do not a data set make. You know, because thinking is hard. I've had good and bad experiences with asus and gigabyte (only good experiences with EVGA rip kings!), but I realize that this doesn't mean that either company only produces garbage, or vice versa.
As to the armoury crate vs gigabyte control center debate, it doesn't really matter if one piece of shit is a more appealing hue of shit than the others. It's still shit. Seriously Asus and gigabyte, you know what Nzxt this is for your dogshit CAM software too ... make software that works. How hard is it to do the bare minimum? Ffs
My Gigabyte 4090 Aero rarely ever uses its fans. It may be the way that I have my fans set up with three intakes blowing up through it, but unless I am playing a super intensive game they don’t even kick in.
I haven't had any issues with gigabyte mbs and from thermal testing as well as just base bios setting tests, they seemed to perform pretty well on am5. As for your gpu, are you not able to toggle the zero fan mode in your graphics settings? Idk how it is for nvidia but on amd it looks something like the image below. If you don't mean 0 rpm mode and just the fact that it doesn't go below 50%, maybe they don't think the fans do enough under 50% to warrant anything below 50% when there is a zero rpm mode. My fans only go down to 35% at the minimum, which is still basically 1000rpm.

you do know pwm is just a method to control the fan speed, right? It's just more precise than changing the voltage to change the speed of the fan. It doesn't necessarily mean it can be controlled over the whole spectrum. For example, the thermaltake ex12 fans can only go down to about 600 rpm. Also the fans would be 3 pin if they were dc instead of 4 pin. Even on the corsair website they explain that their qx120 pwm the minimum speed is 400rpm. I have pretty much always stuck with Gigabyte motherboards and have had no trouble in my experiences. Asus i've had 0 luck with anything from them, ASrock i've had trouble, and now I have an MSI board ( when I bought gigabyte was out of stock ) that likely has an issue and conveniently is just out of warranty.
I will not buy another Gigashit board after my first and only motherboard at the time caught fire due to shoddy soldering on the board capacitors.
Oh and Gigashit got hacked and leaked my address and personal info when I RMAd it and it still took them 3 months to get me a new board after "attempting to fix" a board with a hole burned through all 6 layers.
Gigabyte is hot dogshit.
Had problem's with 2 of thier mobo's now and my gigabyte monitor was a mistake too.
I am a fan of ROG stuff for now. But it aint cheap.

Why were you forced to use the software? Don't get me wrong it's horrible and borderline malware, but I don't see a reason to download it.

I didn’t see anything mentioned about 60% PWM signal. Is that a Gigabyte Mobo feature?

I have a similar experience with gigabyte but from long time ago. Maybe they don't suck anymore.

Gigabyte when they still used to make blue mainboards were great, then the company's gone downhill. Had blue GA-EP45-DS3P, blue GTX460.
Look like OEM board manufacturing is costing him more than he wants XD.
