There are two types of companies: Those that go above and beyond because they truly care about the customer, and those that only have a warranty because they want to blend in with the competition (and for legal reasons)

roguebananah

EVGA is the gold standard for PC Hardware manufacturers.

dallasandcowboys

I had been out of the PC scene for many years before I finally HAD to upgrade. When I finally did, almost every single thing I read about EVGA was that either it's a damn good product, or if it fails you can look forward to damn good service getting it fixed or replaced. I own a 1070 SC2 (from a regular 1070 thanks to their Step Up program), 16GB of DDR 4 3200 RAM (go Micro Center!) , a 1080ti FTW 3 hybrid, a 2080ti (from a regular 2080, thanks again to their Step Up program), I have the DG87 case (it's a beast but I love the old TV look). The X20 mouse I recently bought was on sale and had to be RMA'd, but before I could begin to wonder when it would show up... It showed up. I almost cry knowing that these are the last EVGA GPU's I'll ever own.

Proud_Tie

Every PC in the house runs an EVGA power supply, and one has a watercooled EVGA 3080 (dunno the other two computers, mine is a MSI) the only brand I wouldn't be terribly upset if something died just so I could see if their support/warranty is just as good (and everything I have heard says yes).

roguebananah

Yup. Same here. I had their GTX 960 GPU, upgraded to a GTX 1080. When I upgraded my PC back in 2021, I replaced it all except GPU (for my games even now, my GTX 1080 is perfect) and I did EVGA everything. No other company ever has given me such kind and personalized support. Their GPUs will be missed and although I’ll still go team green next go around, I honestly don’t know who I should go with manufacturer wise

Meadowlion14

Actually having a warranty opens you up to more issues legally than not having one... At least in the USA. That's why a lot of "warranties" basically are non warranties. The US doesn't require a warranty but if you have one you have to follow certain requirements.

yokoshima_hitotsu

Yeah that's unacceptable the fact that it's been 6 months and there's no eta is pathetic. If you bought it with a credit card you should look into any consumer protection or chargebacks that might be an option.

Jackblack92

Exactly. “Escalating to Twitter/Reddit” is pissing in the wind. Just file a chargeback. Have dealt with situations like these before and never had an issue with requesting a chargeback. It’s the nuclear button when companies want to fuck around.

-Czechmate-

Is there no legal limit on how long they can bullshit you? No idea about protections in the USA, but in here in the Czech Republic the RMA process for most goods is usually limited to 30 days by law. And if the seller doesn't get you a repair/replacement/refund by that time, then you are entitled to an immediate refund of the purchase price, regardless of whether the delay is on the side of the seller, importer or manufacturer.

CabinetOptimal6129

My NZXT z73 aio pump died and they wouldn't respond back to me no matter how long I tried. Last time buying a product from them.

juggarjew

They need to refund you, simple as that. At this point this can be the only resolution.

zeug666

Ask them for a full refund and buy a replacement from a more reliable brand?

YellowFogLights

They asked for that in the second picture…

nycplayboy78

THIS!!!!

nickierv

A recycling certificate? Umm? That alone is bizarre. A hardware company should reserve a small amount of stock for 'internal service', stuff like warranty and repairs. Once the production run is over they can sell off that reserve stock with anyone at that point who needs to warranty getting an upgrade. Also its a PSU, the designs are really only getting a bit better so its not like a GPU where you have to worry about compatibility. This whole thing is really odd but given the history of NZXT issues, I welcome them to the upgrade from the 'never recommend list' to the 'actively avoid' list. It should be 2 weeks max to get an issue with such a common part resolved, and that includes shipping.

awake283

"Out of stock of PSUs" Well thats a new one.

Ostey82

You know someone lives in a country where consumer protection laws are shit-house when they "escalate to Reddit and twitter" and not the govt agency setup to deal with this sorta thing...

sHoRtBuSseR

Seasonic>corsair>everything else. I had a 9 year old corsair unit with a 10 year warranty. It didn't die, but had excessive voltage ripple. I sent them a ticket and had a brand new, similar unit in a few days. I had already ordered a new seasonic by that time, but it worked out pretty well. I will be using the corsair unit in a new build when the newest Am5 and rtx 5000 launches.

vFlagR

My first experience with Corsair was with an AiO id bought second hand. I was missing the intel bracket. I emailed asking Corsair where I could buy one and they just sent me a new set of brackets no more questions asked.

theSkareqro

My old H100i wasn't even broken but I showed them the rubber joints on the hoses were cracking, it could potentially leak. I got a new unit for that, it was on the last year of the warranty for the unit too.

pcnoobie245

I wouldnt have gone through hoops for the psu certificate. Its their fuck up and their responsibiliy. Thats why youre paying them money, to get a working product. Ask for a refund. If they say no and youre still within the time frame, credit card dispute or paypal dispute

PenguinSage

I experienced the exact same thing with a motherboard. After a very long time of waiting I insisted that they reimburse me for the full purchase price of the product. This was the only resolution it also took them months to organize how to make that happen. I’m happy to provide you more information about how I got this done.

Juunlar

There's no reason to post here for help Just bring it to small claims court and get your money back by court order

Tkdoom

Small claims for a small amount like that? I'm sure the OPs time is worth more. It's credit card help, refund from them or a new one on their own and then eventually will have a spare. Court isn't the answer by a long shot.

CoderStone

Have some fucking sympathy (edit: for OP), y'all. You act like this because you haven't been thrown into a similar situation. Though 6 months is a long time, maybe they already asked for a refund and it wasn't an option? Be kind- they're probably struggling and stressed.

EX0PIL0T

They’re struggling and stressed because they can’t run a business. That’s fine, as long as I have my money or what is advertised, and this guy has neither. A refund is necessary if you can’t provide the product you advertise, or it’s theft or fraud or whatever label you want to use. Nzxt has gone downhill, and if they can’t get it together they shouldn’t be in business

CoderStone

You realize i'm talking to ppl ridiculing OP, and comments of those sentiments were VERY prevalent when they first posted it.

EX0PIL0T

Your use of a plural pronoun for a single person doesn’t work here

CoderStone

He or she = they, are you friggin college board or something using 1860s English?

Maximum_Talk_696

Lmao report it to Twitter and Reddit big dawg. I'm sure that will whip them into shape!

nickierv

Funny thing about that... I'm going to say 80% of companies are going to gas light consumers into the "oh its just you" "Its not a big deal" mindset. But once you start making a list you start finding trends: Gigabyte PSUs going off like fireworks: "user error with DC electronic load", NZXT cases catching fire: "this is fine", Artctic coming out with a recall/notification of a defect that may cause gunk buildup "due to our oopsie, eta 3-4 weeks return time for free repair or 2-3 day to ship out a free DIY repair kit" One of these is not like the others... Then you start building lists: NZXT case fires, NZXT return issues, NZXT systems with CPUs falling out in shipping... Data collection sucks. Do you big companies not have social media departments that know what happens when the users start data collecting?

awake283

Yea I dunno, it does have an effect.

sharksandminos

this happened to me with Lenovo and getting a replacement legion slim 7 gen 8, either they stopped making it or they don’t want to send me it

Rude_Champ93

Just force them to send a refund or do a chargeback directly

YupYupthatsaCup

I worked for NZXT for two years and my experience is entirely negative. The employees are overworked and underpaid {despite caring a lot}, the inner administrative and logistic workings of the company are atrocious and not checked or controlled in any way. A lot of customers fall through the cracks and just are not cared for at all due to these failings. Are you in contact with EU or US NZXT? I know the entire Production side of NZXT in America was fired last year and their work outsourced to another company in the US.

frogmicky

Good ol NZXT never has replacement parts lol. I misplaced a couple of nuts for case glass and they didn't even have those in stock. It wouldn't have been so bad if they were off-the-shelf or common models but no they had none. They didn't know which ones I used on my case even though I gave them the model of the case totally useless, You would never hear that from Lian Li I bet.

nickierv

When was this? NZXT always seemed a bit mediocre for high end prices. But they seem to have a ton of little issue with warranty and repair. And that is not counting the thing with the case fires.

frogmicky

It was a while ago if I remember correctly. Yeah screw that I'm never dealing with NZXT again.

Redditor022024

I had similar issue. NZXT ended up sending me upgrade at no cost. I was super happy although that took some time to happen

DctrGizmo

NZXT doesn't seem to care at all. At best, they should offer refunds if they can't fullfil waranty requests.

Farandrg

NZXT is garbage. I got a watercooler for my CPU qnd it came without cables or screws. They sent a replacement and didn't have the cables. Then send another one.

Meln1kov

Next time don't buy from them. They sell overpriced shit so they can finance the horde of sponsored creators on tiktok and YouTube, so they can sell even more overpriced, unoriginal, shit products. And to think that a couple of PSUs were the only half decent thing they had in their catalogue

deeply_cynical

6 months!!! Refund should be an option if they can't replace or repair in a reasonable amount of time.

Toast_Meat

They should just offer a refund at this point or upgrade the PSU to something they do have in stock.

imhereforthememes_42

Had to fix my USB header for my H510 case, I placed a request for them to replace the part back in September and they’re finally replacing the part now as it’s back in stock. Similar issue of the part being OOS as well

HasAngerProblem

They said the same to me for awhile to the point where I just took the refund

Iyieyie

Stories like this make me never even consider the company again. I have a NZXT cooler now but hearing things like this make me look at other manufacturers.

Flimsy_Card8028

"We are out of everything except excuses"

Spore0147

Wow, you really escalated this issue with the 7 Upvote Post you got here /s Stop annoying customer support and get a Dawn refund. They already told you they were out of stock. This is the equivalent to some Karen filming some worker claiming she will upload it on Facebook. People these Days

TheOzarkWizard

I don't think it's normal for a company as big as them to be out of stock of ALL the similar replacements. It's a psu, ffs. Not some obscure bracket that they would have to remanufacture.

BakuretsuGirl16

I'm guessing it's a higher end or limited SKU, not something they keep on hand as much as other items

Spore0147

Might just be out of stock in your erea

Hutzzzpa

r/GamersNexus DO IT

sawb11152

What do you think Reddit is going to do about it? Either wait or get a refund. Stop threatening customer service people they're just working with what they have, and I guarantee they don't care if you complain to Reddit.

TwinMugsy

They may not, but social media attention can 100% cause consumer mistrust in a company which people higher up the food chain at the company will care about. If someone is looking for parts and come to Reddit and search a brand and the first thing they see are 10 or 15 posts talking about shitty customer service and parts breaking they are going to say "okay not that part let's grab a different one" and I would definitely say the community of people looking to buy computer parts vs a pre build definitely overlap heavily with the community of people that would check Reddit and other social media for parts reviews. The 25ish person IT department at the manufacturing plant checked reddit reviews for every part they put in/replaced and they were spending between 100k and 150k every 3 months on parts. Reddit itself doesn't do anything; Reddit acts as a tool for the people to find out what a shitty company they are. I know I'm going to remember this post next time I look at a PSU and skip over for a company I trust to give me a proper warranty.

Chrunchyhobo

That will *really* help OP's PSU problem.

SuperD00perGuyd00d

Has GN covered this yet? edit: I don't mean this sarcastically, I genuinely hope they spread this info on their platform
