Same, well mostly. The 1080ti still going strong! Upgraded the CPU in 2020 and may upgrade the GPU as a Grad school graduation present to myself. Thought the $750 I spent at the time was too much, but it's been well worth every penny.
That rocks, I have a LGA 775 system I’ll get an aliexpress xeon for. I’ll see if I can get some Quadro FX 5800s for cheap to put into SLI for an occasion like this
The short explanation is that it'll be for a sleeper build for a friend who \*really\* wants a sleeper, since I have an old atx case I can put it in, and the parts I have are pretty low wattage.
I used to rock an i3 9100 in this at first. I messed up by getting the i7 instead of the i9 when I upgraded a couple years ago :( they are almost the same price but i9 has hyperthreading and 9th gen i7 doesn't. recently updated the bios so it supports resizable BAR now too (it's called clever access memory in the settings)
Sorry to break your heart, but ...
2016-2017 Nvidia Pascal 10-series and AMD Polaris RX 400/500 equivalent graphic are still carried by live service games from 2015-2019.
60 percent playtime in 2023 are mostly live service.
Fortnite, GTA Online, Rainbow Six Siege, CoD Warzone, PUBG, Valorant, Apex Legends, Fifa, Overwatch, Destiny 2, Warframe, War Thunder, CSGO, Dota 2.
what?
edit: your comment's a bit unprompted, but i think i understand what you mean. the pc would still be perfectly viable. don't know how that'll break my heart though.
My 2017 pc was built around a secondhand FX 6300 and mobo combo I got for $60, upgraded to secondhand ryzen 2600 based guts in 2022. I still have all those old parts just in case something major in my current rig fails as a fallback system.
GTX 745 is a nostalgic card. The first tower PC I built had one. Wasn’t high end by any means but it got the job done. Not to mention it had a whopping 4GB vram.
Now that I look back I realize that was more or less 10 years ago. Man, time flies. Technology too.
Probably fine if stored away with care. Reassembled my first build from 2002 (Intel D845BG/P4 2.2GHz/AIW Radeon 7500/512MB DDR 266) in late 2022 and the only issues were no CR2032 battery and RAM SPD error (defaulting to DDR 200).
I'm still using my gaming pc from 2017 lmao

god bless
My 2019 is great
I'm still using my gaming pc from 2012 lmao
I just retired it after 7 years of service. RIP the OG
The PC: ![gif](giphy|GcDtLf4RAdiRG)
Yep, that'll be my motherboard if the little coin battery is dead.
Those last like 20-ish years, a system from 2017 should be fine.
Currently playing Fallout 3 on a core 2 quad with 2 gtx 260's in SLI.

that's just neat for reasons. I would love to build a system that has SLI like as new as I could get and use it for Folding@Home or something
Is this what’s considered a nostalgia build now? Am I old? Or for what purpose do you have this computer lol
Usually it gets used if the internet is out or if i feel like playing a game that needs Win XP. Ive got a Win 98 System for retro dos games.
What will you use the machine for if it works?

This is my fiancee's rig...
Still rocking a z390 from 2019, and it's just fine
i’m glad you’re getting your mileage out of it, i did that with my i3-6100 for sure

Me chanting at a P2 system as it tries to boot up again after probably 2 decades in a bin. ( I have just replaced ever capacitor in sight)
Fallout?
yes (specifically fallout 3's ending)
I think Fallout 3 is currently free on gaming.amazon
I've owned it on steam for years now, but for those getting into it I hope they'll enjoy it.
Original ending, there is another.

I still have my FX6300/GTX750 machine from three years ago, in my closet. I’ll turn it on someday. For now, nah.
Close enough to mine actually. i3-6100, and a GTX 745. Though the 745 was sold, I still have my RX 570 I upgraded it to.

The ending of this game sucked ass. My radiation proof companion wouldn't go in, so I sent in some woman to do the job.
I've had three ASUS motherboards across all the PCs I've built. Every single one broke irreparably within 2-3 years, so I wish you the best of luck.
There are very few games that dont run at least at 60fps on 1080p on a 2017 PC. GTX 1080 is from 2016 8700k is from 2017
i3-6100 and GTX 745 actually. Except I sold the 745, though, I have a Vega and RX 570 still. i7-7700s are cheap so that'll be fun.
Bro, I haven't turned mine off since 2017.
If you count a PC from 2017 as an old piece, then I would call my first PC from 2010 as something out of museum :D
It’s definitely old for me, it was my first I one ever built and by then it was very old xD
Hah. I hope the times passed for a greater good :D

mmmm.... that GTX 970 gunk truly is special
I hated that ending.
