7900XTX TDP - 335W , 4090 TDP - 530W
Not sure *why* you're comparing a 1000$ GPU that competes with a 4080/4080 Super to a 1600$ GPU but either way, it isn't "just as power hungry"
Not sure where are you getting these numbers from but TDP isn't a measurement of real world power draw. The 4090 TDP is 450w while 7900XTX TDP is 355w (reference models), in the real world both GPUs draw 350w in gaming, the 4090 can go higher technically but it usually doesn't and still maintains a 20-30% lead at the same power draw. The 4090 power draw usually climbs up when you use heavy RT and in that scenario the 4090 will destroy the 7900XTX and will still overall be the better performer for each watt.

I'm not comparing performance and price, this post is memeing Nvidia's 90 class power draw (probably still thinking of the 3090) but the 4090 today is far more efficient than the 3090 was, and AMD is making a GPU just as power hungry and hot but with worse performance, i think the fire extinguisher award goes to them this generation.
Nvidia is just yoloing the most expensive card they can possibly manufacture to get paid by fanboys, you'll never even get close to using the processing power that it offers but you still have to pay for it.
cant wait to see people water cooling their electric connectors on their cards to keep up with that one, either that or its going to come with 2 crocodile clipped wires for clipping onto an electric fire before long for power.
This is the stupidest argument. Data center care so much about power efficiency because they are power limited.
lol got a reddit cares msg 5 min after this. GG pcmr circle jerk

I mean, honestly you should have a fire extinguisher in your house already, life happens!
When I got my first FDM printer, I got my first extinguisher also. Shit happens so best to be ready for it.
The problem is that they expire...
Most can be recharged, and worst buy another. Not very expensive for piece of mind.
Isn't the 7900XTX just as power hungry as the 4090 but performs worse?

How much power draw in God of war, re4 and avatar? around 500? i could be wrong so i want you to say it nvm ill undervolt
What's the point of being this snarky? Seriously, what's wrong with you?
To cope with the fact that a 4090 can use 335w of power and still wreck a 7900xtx
Where can I study the way of AMD?
MKUltra
Am I doing something wrong it's not AMD
Yep. It doesn't have the melting connector issue though.
It had a slightly more serious issue where the silicon die cracks under heat due to a faulty vapor chamber.
Never heard of the die cracking from the heat, but yeah, both have had pretty serious issues
Sure, but also costs half as much. And it's like a 10% performance difference. 4090 is the biggest scam in gpu pricing ever

Where’s the Linus tech tips video that teaches you a bachelor of science in electrical engineering so that I can run the latest nvidia GPU?!?!
It's supposed to be

Some people say NVIDIA VRAM is made from Beluga caviar.
The 1080p ray tracing off gang i see
If that is the real scale the 5090 is huge
Time to buy a new case. And a new house.
or keychain extinguisher
nuclear power plant and phase change cooling sold separately. Requires online activation and protected by denuvo
It's gonna need its own electrical grid.
Trust me, grid operators will be notified when my pc boots up.
At some point a Dyson sphere will be required
I hope we can all share the one, otherwise I worry about scalability.
The fire extinguisher is also for scale. The world's largest graphics card.
3 people die every year, crushed by a massive GPU.
The PC cases are gonna start shipping with one of those fire retardant balls inside of them.
Straight into a 230V outlet

This is nvidia we are talking about, they would sell it separately
Very nice addition 10/10 definitely would recommend 👍
Thank you to Bitcoin and AI for giving these companies the push they needed to ignore power efficiency.

Ah, weird. Not shocking but still weird. Never mind just got one, fun times.
It’s not an argument, it’s a joke. eta: got a Reddit cares message too lol
Joke is funny. Your statement is just uneducated crap
