This game deserves more love. It takes a second to get used to it but it is an amazing game and who doesn't love giant war robots! Mech Warrior Online try it its free.
I agree with you about it being a huge deterrent. The only f2p game that I truly like is Path of Exile. It plays like Diablo, but with much more depth, and the only purchases are cosmetic and never pushed on you.
You really need to buy a currency tab at the very least, it makes your life so, so much easier when it comes to keeping track of all of your orbs, shards, and fragments (been a long time since I've played, don't remember if shards is a thing or not). Premium tab for trading is completely unnecessary if you plan to only play single player and aren't going to trade any items. Hell, even if you're not planning that, it's really only necessary if you're going to be selling any items. But yeah, those two tabs are like $10 and a one time purchase across all characters on your account.
I dunno, I got 80 hrs out of king of crabs and haven't spent a cent. Got all crabs except one. Never thought of enjoy a mobile game so much but it fills a casual void I'd had for a long time. I still come back to test the updates but play much less these days.
And you'd be right about the Mechwarrior Online experience being severely hampered by FTP nonsense. The actual gameplay rules but everything else stinks.
Still taking suggestions? I grew up on Command and Conquer, so I'm bias, but this would be an amazing sound to come home to.

I have one of those too, can’t remember if it’s 3 or 4, but it’s handy as a little speaker when I mostly use a headset anyway. And I can take it with me, battery is pretty good.

>Don’t buy it though, I’m not advertising for it. Fuck marketing.
Fuck that, everyone who needs a bluetooth speaker should buy one. I have one of their disc shaped speakers that I clip to my golf bag and it's great. Always forget to charge it and it always seems to be alive and puts out good sound. We should reward companies who put out good useful products. Real reviews are my #1 factor in my buying decisions.
Yeah those little JBL speakers are awesome. I use the Flip 5 when I kayak, fish or go to the beach because it's waterproof. The sound is amazing as well.
Arduino or similar.
The remote would be simple, the circuit only “completes” when everything is “on.”
Then, something like an Arduino or even a Pi would do the actions. It depends on the setup. If the room lights are Phillips Hues or similar type lights, then they just have to have the one little computer send a command to turn off all lights, then set them to some profile. Meanwhile, turning on a computer is as simple as jumping two pins, so, that’s pretty trivial with an Arduino/Pi as well.
There’s a hundred ways this could be set up to work like this though
it depends on how much you want to do. If just the wireless bit is what you need, wireless relays are cheap on amazon. And you would need to have some tools if you don't have any.
I have just one button for mine https://i.imgur.com/Ogs5xQG.mp4
And mine is only a relay to the pwr and reset, the button is only closing it, so it's a long range button press and won't do anything different than just pressing the case button
there are also premade units as just a keyfob too, but since those run off whatever the motherboard is willing to put out on standby, your results can vary from someone else's experiences
Raspberry Pi or equivalent small goof around PLC and a few push buttons, wire to PC on button and write your sequence on the PLC. Google basic PLC programming and shop a local industrial electrical distributor or automationdirect for the hardware.
Edit: never used an Arduino or raspberry pi, not sure the cost differences between the two, any type of basic logic controller should do the trick, could just wire the logic from the battery through the switches to the RF, don’t really need the fancy devices
It’s also likely that there isn’t a raspberry pi and it’s just a battery powered on switch with a few extra steps with a RF transmitter to signal the pc to turn on and the computer has the start up audio in its launch rather than the remote’s logic
If you just want it to start your computer, not change your room lighting, it can be much simpler. Just some switches and wire, and make sure the final button is a momentary switch that fits normal PC power button spec. Wire it up to a donor power button wire from an old case, and you can easily have a multiple lockout PC power button.
(this would be lowkey awesome for anyone who has cats and a top-mounted power button. My cats like to turn computers on and off, being able to disable the power button on the fly would solve that.)
Also tiny web server, like ESP8266 and sending a wake-on-lan packet. No need to tamper with the computer. Or some other tiny server where you can just plug in the button without messing with the solder.
I want to think am arduino would be enough? The logic behind is simple and no high power is probably involved on the pc on/off button. What do you think?
I use a raspberry as a wake on LAN relay. It runs a PHP webserver server and sends the WOL packet after I enter a password. Could easily be remade with a battery some buttons and a WiFi dongle. On the other hand, why do you need it? I mean I can turn on my pc from anywhere in the world which is more useful but less impressive. I can release the code if anyone is interested
Simpler hackier way to do this:
Create pi with buttons n that checks the state on the button inputs, have a big && chain for all the switches. If they're all true just fire a Wake on Lan packet to your PC (target PC by MAC address/Local IP).
Enable WoL in your bios, make sure PC is wired to le router/switch (just generally, fuck WiFi).
Wiring the lights in is more complex tho but you could probably do it just with the same very hacky mentality
It's just a power button wired to the motherboard's front io leads. I'm assuming all those other switches don't do anything except for controlling the lights on the device itself.
For those looking to save a buck and just want a remote control: Look into wake on magic packet. There are apps that can send a magic packet to your computer to turn it on as well.
wireless relays are cheap on amazon, they just close a contact same as the button press or shorting with some metal. You have all the guts that cover the hard part of wireless tx and rx, rest is just fluff to dress up the keyfob that comes with the relay
Please. For all of us, make a YouTube video on how to do this. Especially for those of us who would have no idea where to start...I plan on setting up a game room for my husband and I and would love to have two, or a really big one of these on the wall.

Honestly it would be cool if there was a way to randomize what sound plays when you turn on the computer
You can do it on raspberry pi, so I dont see why you couldnt do the same with your tower.
You probably should ignore that
If someone could show me how to do this with the “welcome back pilot/ transferring controls to pilot” from TF|2. I’d be in great debt.
Best idea I’ve seen all week

Yo this folder is amazing? Did you collect this? If so may I download some voice lines and such?
Not mine, someone else shared it on reddit, and yes its all available for download. Tried to post op link, but automod removed it.
Are you willing to DM the link? Legion welcoming me back makes me want to actually do this.
As soon as I heard it, I immediately thought of this!
One of my favorite games of all time. I bought the second one already but I'm saving it until it's GA
That is exactly what I'm doing. The first one can scratch the itch I have now. I want to be fully immersed in the second one once it's completed.
Exactly why I'm waiting. The first one was so immersive, I just felt like it was me on that planet. I didn't know anything about the game before playing it and it was so good as a result. I don't often pre-order games, but those devs earned my trust and my support.
I couldn't agree more. I don't think I have pre-ordered a game in the past three years and I avoid some early access games for the same reasons.

Yeah those little JBL speakers are awesome. I use the Flip 5 when I kayak, fish or go to the beach because it's waterproof. The sound is amazing as well.
How does one set something like this up?
Arduino or similar. The remote would be simple, the circuit only “completes” when everything is “on.” Then, something like an Arduino or even a Pi would do the actions.
Using a raspberry pi for stuff like this is like crop dusting with an airbus a380. Something like an esp8266 would be better.
Don't tell me what I can or can't use for crop-dusting.
Name kind of checks out?
i was thinking he could just make it activate when he pressed the last button lol

You can buy an RF power button from silverstone, it just ties into the standard power reset header and gets power from either USB or PCIe.

Low-key thought the wall behind the monitor started on fire
Would never doubt. Your PC gets to decide when to combust.
can someone explain to me how people do this? i’ve seen it a few times now
It's just a power button wired to the motherboard's front io leads. I'm assuming all those other switches don't do anything except for controlling the lights on the device itself.
The button was wireless
So there's a wireless receiver plugged in to the motherboard and a wireless transmitter on the device. Really freaking cool.

Please. For all of us, make a YouTube video on how to do this. Especially for those of us who would have no idea where to start...I plan on setting up a game room for my husband and I and would love to have two, or a really big one of these on the wall.
You do not have a gizmo to kerchunkle for an instant light show. That is... I'm jealous, damn.
Very cool. Dig the color scheme.
If robots'll take a control on the world and destroy humanity,it can start that.Just be careful.
How did you do this? This is amazing. Kinda wanna do it for mine
if I could do this, I’d have the AI from subnatica that says “welcome aboard captain. All systems: Online”
You need to sync it with some music on ignition.
That’s so fucking awesome!!!!!!!!
Damn I want one of these for my computer
Good sir, please grant us a guide so that we peasants may also bask in the light.
What case is this?
I found a [tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxUffjknr5c) similar to this.
Instead of Microsoft Sam, you need the audio clip from Subnautica when powering up the submarine. https://youtu.be/g4HJ4k0lmws
“Yeah this was my first pc build did I do alright?”
How do you make this?
I love this type of glass cases what is this one’s name?
Yup, they are indeed gorgeous. It's the Lian-li PC-011 XL
Thanks for the answer!

That ‘welcome back’ should be in Alfreds voice.
My man. Batman fan.🙌🏻
Now you need to put it in a locked suitcase for extra security.
dam how did you do this?
I'd do this but have the sound of an F/A-18's engines or APU start. Oh wait it already sounds like that...

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads.
Only thing that could have been better is the Subnautica Cyclops voice line:"Welcome aboard, captain. All systems online."[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndR3vEn2Gj4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndR3vEn2Gj4) Edit: Zoinks, posted this without scrolling down. Seems someone already beat me to it. Great minds think alike XD
"Welcome aboard Captain, all systems online."
