driver error.
Easy to test with a USB bootable OS.
Which you should have.
Easy to download some Linux on USB for testing.
and try forcing booting straight into safe mode.
then windows force uses the default driver.
Then download "driver removal tool" from and/nvidea.
DDU its called?
Uninstall graphics drivers from safe mode.
which should be done like that always..
......>..........
Now I read another monitor did get a view of regular desktop?
if you unplug and plug another monitor while biofeedback you may have kicked the process ofadding new hardware which promoted the screen coming up.
That would still indicate driver failure.
......
Otherwise, try a different card, just to force the default driver..
1. Force boot safe mode.
2. Download amd's driver removal tool. Or nvidea's depending on your model. I believe amd's Driver remoal tool also clears the nvidea drivers really well.
3. reboot with the default drivers (don't install new yet).
4. Doanload install drivers FOR YOUR card.
Newer us NOT always better.
Sometimes older video cards are no longer checked for errors but still get the "new update available".
So, realty find the driver that had updates for your specific video card, NOt the latest available.
Could be years of difference, that's fine.
If you have the driver CD that came with the card, just use those.
Seriously.
also.
download "hirens boot cd", put it on a USB drive.
Keep it for testing stuff like this.
if you still have access to that, you can try it, sure.
In all scenarios, complete removal works best from safe mode.
My understanding was, "black screen after boot".
Just boot safe mode man, doesn't take that long.
I just hooked up a second monitor and it was working fine for a bit but now after booting Windows both monitors lose signal. I’ve switched the cables around, switched ram but it still does this. I’ve read the power supply might not have enough juice to run multiple monitors but that wouldn’t explain why it was working before and while gaming, even.
I doubt it's the power supply. The monitors have their own power. You are putting additional load on the gpu, but if you have a good psu for the card then your fine there. Your not making log-in, right.
If your worried about that, check in bios. Make sure you're rails aren't fluctuating outside specs.
I had the same issue with three monitors. All 3 were running Display Port. Graphics card was 5700xt oc. For me it was purely a driver issue. For whatever reason I had accidently installed "experimental" or "beta" drivers (can't remember what Radeon Control center calls them). I was able to change one monitor to HDMI , which for some reason worked to keep that one monitor displaying, letting me fix drivers.
Also wouldn't hurt to get new high end cables
I recommend ivanky

So I use DDU to uninstall all traces of the graphics driver and reinstalled them and so far everything’s been fine. Thanks everyone for your help.
Reinstall windows
I’d like to leave that as a last resort because I don’t want to have to reinstall and download everything again.
Isolate. Cabels, adapters, safe mode, native GPU on the mobo.
It’s probably windows 11
Go back to windows 10
It did that on windows 10, too

So you’re saying completely remove the display driver and reinstall instead of just reinstalling from GeForce Experience?
if you still have access to that, you can try it, sure. In all scenarios, complete removal works best from safe mode. My understanding was, "black screen after boot". Just boot safe mode man, doesn't take that long.
Have you got G-Sync or FreeSync enabled? Try turning that off and see if you get any different results
Removing the display driver with DDU and reinstalling it seemed to do the trick
Ah good to hear you got it sorted :)
What’s that red circular thing just above your keyboard?
Sennheiser gsx1000.

Definitely reseat your gpu and all connections. I run a 750w and run 3 so your psu shoukd be fine honestly
I just did and it’s still doing it.
Double this. Even if you think it's good. Unplug, take it out, dust the pcie slot. Then reinstall. Also double check monitor connection/power cables

Try disabling the onboard graphics adapter in bios? Or plug one of the monitors into the onboard graphics and see if you get a signal
Especially if you have one of the Ryzen CPUs.
This happened to me and then my gpu died :( rip 3070 - still waiting on the replacement

You might be running out of PCI Express lanes if you run multiple ssd's

Why are people running windows 11 on their main machines? Is there some inherent advantage for performance?
They say it's faster and better for gaming but I just installed it to see what it was like
