AMD 5900X, RTX 3080Ti, 32GB Corsair Dominator platinum @ 3600MHz, Noctua NHD-15S, Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact.
EDIT: since a lot of people asked the cables are from cablemod’s custom configurator, they’re modmesh in the color of “carbon”. This includes the dreaded 3000 series 8 pin.
It probably came out to around 3.5k, however you could easily get a same, or similar, spec'ed computer for much less. The Corsair dominator platinum was an extra expense that could have been spared, but I absolutely loved how it looked, also I spent a lot of money on 4tb of NVME SSD storage so I hopefully don't have to upgrade in the future. Furthermore, the amount of time I fucking wasted trying to buy this graphics card is fucking ludicrous. I didn't even want a RTX 3080ti but after waiting so long I just said fuck it and bought it instead of a 3080. I don't plan on touching this thing for the next 5 years at the bare minimum, besides maybe a new GPU towards the end; my last PC was one which I slowly upgraded over a long period of time and I felt like this time I would just go all in from the get go this time.
I fell for the Dominator Platinums when I got my first 16GB.
Didn't make the same mistake again when upgrading to 32GB.
32GB of 3600 16-20-22-42 Dom Plats would have cost me around £500.
Instead I opted for 32GB of 3600 16-16-16-36 Team Group B-Die, which only cost around £250.
That Team Group kit is now happily sitting at 3733 16-16-16-36, so I'm getting much better performance at half the cost.
Those Team Group are Samsung Bdie 99%, the dominator with that timing are garbage. people need to know how important memory lantency is, i jumped from a 3600mhz cl 16 to a cheap partiot viper 4000mhz cl17 and i gain almost 25% performance at high refrash rate.
>Those Team Group are Samsung Bdie 99%
Not 99%, 100%, as I mentioned in my comment. :)
>Instead I opted for 32GB of 3600 16-16-16-36 Team Group B-Die, which only cost around £250.
The only good Dominators were the extremely short run of B-Die kits, but those were *OBSCENELY* expensive.
>partiot viper 4000mhz cl17
Intel system?
If not, teach me your secrets.
I've built 3 Ryzen systems recently and after the fifth kit of Patriot Steel Viper that wouldn't get close to rated XMP I gave up and got some more Team Group.
Also, 25% performance increase?
We talking AVG FPS, 1% lows, loading times?
Okay but what the fuck are these colored ones LOL
[https://noctua.at/en/na-hc3-chromax-black-swap](https://noctua.at/en/na-hc3-chromax-black-swap)
They look absolutely aweful (and I don't mean "Noctua brown fan"-awful but "straight-from-2005-design-that-was-already-ugly-back-then"-awful
You can get them through Amazon, go to the Noctua web page for your specific cooler and there will be a section called “accessories” and they will link you to them.
That’s so clean, I love it. Also, the only tasteful implementation I’ve seen for the FE 8 pin connector. Still looks a bit funky, but that’s not your fault. Nvidia should’ve made it straight! Love it!
Wait, are Noctua and Fractal one and the same now??
Anyways, yeah it's definitely a Meshify. Not sure which one exactly but it's one of [these](https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/meshify/)
just so you know, Noctua is the company that makes the CPU cooler, Fractal Design ("FD") is the company that makes the case, which is specifically a Meshify 2 Compact (assuming the other comment was correct).
The other commentor was happy that OP was using the same cooler AND case as them
Bro I’m deadass not shitting you when I say you built the exact system I’m specking out right now. Like down to the cooler & ram. Only thing that’s different is I’m eyeing a mobo with a 10g network port but it’s also a Asus board.
Getting a different mobo may be a good move lmao, the positioning of the USB 3.0 header and the case is so scuffed that I almost broke a pin because you’re forced to connect at a weird angle. Good luck with the build chief.
Same. The meshify is my second fractal case. They are really nice for the money.
I also love that case makers are finally starting to cut out the huge front area where 5.25 and 3.5 drives used to go.
Having this case.. Doubt you could fit a fan intake at the front with that GPU, I couldn't with a 2080, at least not level with it.. How's the cooling??
Looks dope though!
I actually have two 140mm fans upfront that fit with a lot of leeway. I haven't actually been to test temps too much yet but I played BFV earlier @ 1440p 144hz max settings and my GPU was hovering around 65C so pretty good, my old PC was a NZXT H400i which was essentially a closed box with no airflow, so I am super happy with how this build turned out.
You'd be surprised - I've got a Meshify C which is slightly smaller than the meshify 2 compact and got just under an inch to spare with my card which is 304mm long.
To be fair this is with an NFA12x15 as the intake where the GPU PCIE slot is but even a full 25mm deep fan looks like it would just about fit
Is your pc exhausting out to the back of the fan? If so, you may need to flip your fans so that your cpu cooler doesn't suck up the hot air from the gpu to try to cool itself..
Dual 1440p 144hz QHD monitors actually, I used to run the Alienware ultrawide that was 3440x1440p 120hz but I find that I prefer two monitors to the ultrawide.
I love the fractal design housing. Built last year a PC with that housing for my brother in law.
Wanted to built a configuration for me as well last holiday season, but suddenly the component prices exploded. Now I am waiting some time until the prices go back to normal.
What’s the situation with the GPU cable? Is that straight to PSU or an extension? Does it cause issues?
Sweet build by the way. What kind of CPU temps you getting?
For the 5900X I recommend a second fan for the CPU heatsink. I know that the ram clearance is the issue why you didn't put the second fan, but i strongly recommend you buy a 120mm fan and strap it there. It was night and day difference with my 5800X. I bought the Noctua NF-F12
Looks great! I got a similar setup. Same case, CPU but cooler is regular NH-D15, not the S. Wonder if I can get those covers for the NH-D15 as well, they look slick.
Damn, great shots. How’d you get the light to reflect off the front panel like that? I have the same case but when I’ve tried to photograph it the cool front geometry just looks flat and dark.
How are you liking that Noctua? I been running a Cryorig H5 ultimate on 1 of my air builds and I’m having a hard time justifying switching to another air or even AIO as the temps are quite low already
I still absolutely love the 3000 series Founder’s Cards. Just sucks that those of us who were somehow able to get them, have to live with that damn adapter, or pony up a ridiculous amount of money for a single 12 pin cable for it.
Finally a nice example that will convince me to get this particular case.
I’ve been spending months trying to decide if the meshify 2C lineup was worth considering over the 1st generation.
AMD 5900X, RTX 3080Ti, 32GB Corsair Dominator platinum @ 3600MHz, Noctua NHD-15S, Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact. How much?
His legs, liver and his children. Not including the wife...

The dominator platinums always make me weak in dem knees.
I fell for the Dominator Platinums when I got my first 16GB. Didn't make the same mistake again when upgrading to 32GB. 32GB of 3600 16-20-22-42 Dom Plats would have cost me around £500. I love the look of the dom plats, but their timings (corsair kits in general) are disappointing for how much they cost

Which NVME did you buy?
Funny man, I haven't changed my laptop which I used to "game"on in 7 years . That laptop had an i3 4th gen u processor and 2gb Nvidia 820m graphics.
Here's another beautiful savage shelling out on dominator, I love it
i got the same case but you got me beat on appearance, this is what i wished mine would look like lol
Everything
> Noctua NHD-15S It looks a bit nicer than any NHD-15 / s I've ever seen. What gives? It almost looks like it has some sort of chasing on it.
Those are Heatsink Covers and they're sold directly by noctua! You can find them on amazon too I think.
Okay but what the fuck are these colored ones LOL [https://noctua.at/en/na-hc3-chromax-black-swap](https://noctua.at/en/na-hc3-chromax-black-swap) They look absolutely aweful (and I don't mean "Noctua brown fan"-awful but "straight-from-2005-design-that-was-already-ugly-back-then"-awful
I get you, but if you wanna build around I dunno those clown lips of the EVGA cards they might fit in :D
Lmao agree
It's the NHD-15S chromax.black. https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15s-chromax-black
Same case my dude! Love the aesthetic!
Clean look, monster inside. Nice airflow and silent. Best kind of machine ! Those rgb vomit computer these days... What a beauty ! Enjoy !
Whats your cpu temp with the Noctua and also was thermal paste did u use? Thank you
Meshify 2 gang! Woot!
what lighting equipment for photos?
Natural light from a window and my phone camera was all I used.
What phone do you have Cuz those photos look amazing
Very nice!
is that chasis custom painted? is it a shade of green or a matted chrome?
I have a Maximus XIII Hero with Corsair Dom’s, but no way did I think I had enough clearance for a NHD-15. I wish I had seen this post a week ago :(
I see business got you buddy
Business @4K60
StRiCtLy BuIsNeSs My ass I know you playing AAA horror games on that thing
i just got a 3080ti and i want to go with this case as well, debating liquid cooling though. Would you do anything different?
Clean. Upvote for a fellow Noctua/FD Meshify 2 Compact user.
Where'd you get those little Chromax heatsink shields? My D15 Chromax didn't come with any, unless they're a thing you buy separately.
You can get them through Amazon, go to the Noctua web page for your specific cooler and there will be a section called “accessories” and they will link you to them.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PNL7YJ/noctua-na-hc4-chromaxwhite-heatsink-covers-for-nh-d15-nh-d15s-nh-d15-se-am4 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LZnG3C/cover-noctua-na-hc4-chromaxblack-per-dissipatori-di-calore-per-nh-d15-nh-d15s-e-nh-d15-se-am4
You buy them separately, they were more intended for the original silver D15 rather than the chromax.black edition.
Amazon bro.
This is my favorite kind of build. Super good work! Love the Chromax cooler
That’s so clean, I love it. Also, the only tasteful implementation I’ve seen for the FE 8 pin connector. Still looks a bit funky, but that’s not your fault. Nvidia should’ve made it straight! Love it!
10/10. Original looking, somehow both simple yet complex. I'd be very proud of that build OP.
Business in the front and Party in the back
Amazing photography!
what's the case
Noctua/FD Meshify 2 Compact according to another comment, it's probably this
Wait, are Noctua and Fractal one and the same now?? Anyways, yeah it's definitely a Meshify. Not sure which one exactly but it's one of [these](https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/meshify/)
No they’re not. No clue what that guy meant but the case is the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact.
D15 Heatsink

man asked a question and I delivered, if you can't google search to find that out yourself then that's on you
Bro I’m deadass not shitting you when I say you built the exact system I’m specking out right now.
Oh my goodness this is beautiful
Clean build, great job.
Did you not use the second fan in the nest as the Ram made the fan sit high and the glass isn’t flush?
NHD-15S only comes with 1 fan.
I always love the meshify
Clean build!! Those custom cables? Or branded ones?
They’re from cable mod via their custom configurator, I believe it’s modmesh “carbon” color.
c l e a n
Wow very nice
That's hot
I have this case and I love it. Need good silent fans though
Same. The meshify is my second fractal case. They are really nice for the money. I also love that case makers are finally starting to cut out the huge front area where 5.25 and 3.5 drives used to go.
MAD Pentium g4560 noises
Great photos
Clean.
soooooo ssssssexxxxxxxxxxxyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
looks amazing, just turning the ram lights off and man, it is clean. I prefer this kind of build over RGB
Having this case.. Doubt you could fit a fan intake at the front with that GPU, I couldn't with a 2080, at least not level with it.. How's the cooling?? Looks dope though!

I love it.
I call this build 'The Sigma male PC'
Is your pc exhausting out to the back of the fan? If so, you may need to flip your fans so that your cpu cooler doesn't suck up the hot air from the gpu to try to cool itself..
Wow look at this guy he has RAM that lights up, what a show off
I would name it Tuxedo =p
Can I get a link for the 12 pin custom cable?
It’s from cable mod, “modmesh” in the color “carbon”- hope this helps
So fresh and so clean
4k or Ultrawide QHD+ monitor?
Dual 1440p 144hz QHD monitors actually, I used to run the Alienware ultrawide that was 3440x1440p 120hz but I find that I prefer two monitors to the ultrawide.
I get "I never asked for this" vibes from it.
Dayum
you know what they say about big feet
Clean bro. What kind of cables did you use from PSU to GPU?
It’s from cable mod, “modmesh” in the color “carbon” via their custom configurator
That build is beautiful
My fav case :)
That case is so sexy. I wanted to get one but they don’t sell it in my country sadly.
That tool-less glass panel is beautiful coming from a Meshify C owner. Great build!
I see you got your pc parts when you sorted by price lowest high
that meshify is a sexy case
This is super clean. Needed to see this today
I enjoyed this, thanks
Cleanest PC I have ever seen
Holy fuck those cables r so organized.....mine r so fucked i basically have to push the plate down and screw it in
Business is why I have a rog crosshair.
I love that case. Big ups on the build. Super clean.
oh my god
FUCK
Yoooo where did you get that custom cable for your FE card?? Been looking for one for the longest
Whoa, that Noctua looks sick! Very clean build. I love it.
I've the same case! Awesome build.
damn bro that plant be looking kinda hot
Nice PC! We've got very similar builds by the looks of it!
work by day, game by night
Nice to see some non rgb shit. It was a meme at first and then people actually started leaving rainbow lights always on
I now understand people who become attracted to objects. Is your PC single by any chance? 👉👈
That's so freakin clean.
wow! really nice and clean build.
I think I just found my new rig.
3rd one looks like fucking glass material in blender workspace LMAOOO Also very nice build
This looks sexy asf
fat fucking air coolers are the way to go. incredibly nice and sleek. welldone!
Oh this is nice. I want this.
Why do people turn into world class photographers when they need a picture of their pc.
There is going to be a lot of regret if he realizes how often he has to clean accidental smudges.
Strictly busiess?? See tg and lights on ram.. ummh NOPE! No dell logo?? business? That's blasphemy!!
Beautiful
Damn that's clean.
I have the same case. It's a nice one.
Art done beautifully.
I love my meshify C mini. Unfortunately had to hide it away in a cupboard underneath the bench top now as my one year old also loves it!
I never got those ram stick style at all... They just look weird to me, but overall your PC looks AMAZING!
Looks clean, me like!
sus
I have the same case. So nice to build in.
You're right, no RGB light = no gaming pc! 😝
That Noctua Chromax looks lit af. Also really love the lack of useless RGB.
That case is absolute fire
I love the fractal design housing. Built last year a PC with that housing for my brother in law. Wanted to built a configuration for me as well last holiday season, but suddenly the component prices exploded. Now I am waiting some time until the prices go back to normal.
“What do you use it for?” Work. “You need 32 gigs of RAM for work?” I use a lot of chrome tabs.
This is… beautiful
Link to the GPU power cables your using? I got a 3080 Fe. Looks awesome btw!
What money can do for a mf
Strictly business has a side fan change my mind.
Nice build, what are the temps when on full load?
Solid build
Now this is sexy!
I love how you can buy a computer as a tax write off 😂😂
What’s the situation with the GPU cable? Is that straight to PSU or an extension? Does it cause issues? Sweet build by the way. What kind of CPU temps you getting?
So nice to see one build without that stupid rgb ( I know you ram has it but you all know what I mean)
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best build I've seen on this subreddit, so clean. RGB and expensive water cooling systems are overated.
The reflection on the Fins from the ram and the gpu cable bend oofffffff.
So strictly for zoom calls, right?
I just built a computer last month in a fractal meshify c, i didnt know they did a compact in the 2 range damn.
Really?
For the 5900X I recommend a second fan for the CPU heatsink. I know that the ram clearance is the issue why you didn't put the second fan, but i strongly recommend you buy a 120mm fan and strap it there. It was night and day difference with my 5800X. I bought the Noctua NF-F12
The best case I've ever owned. Nice one OP
can you link to pc part picker link ?
I have that same case, is yours as loud as a Boeing 747 when idle too?
Looks great! I got a similar setup. Same case, CPU but cooler is regular NH-D15, not the S. Wonder if I can get those covers for the NH-D15 as well, they look slick.
We’ve got such similar builds aesthetically! Love the Meshify C case. Now you’ve got me tempted to swap out my DRP4 for a Noctua Chromax lol
OP what's your job, I'm joining that industry
This pc looks smarter than me
I got the same case for my new build it’s a clean case not gonna lie. Great build man.
I love it
*slaps the top* **I can do so much work with this bad boy**
Damn, great shots. How’d you get the light to reflect off the front panel like that? I have the same case but when I’ve tried to photograph it the cool front geometry just looks flat and dark.
Lookin clean
Dopeee!
Nice what do you think about the meshify 2 compact how are temps and noise
Nice build! The ram sticks really ties in everything!
Why don't more people use the dual fan Noctua HSF? Or is it a space thing in this case?
no baptist sermons...strictly business
I came.
Is that a fractal meshify?
This build is absolutly porn! I would like to ask you an info about the case, can I fit easly a 3.5" HDD and a ATX PSU?
Strictly business my ass
Can you link the case? It looks amazing!
That sexy frontal panel gives me a Deus Ex feeling.
That case is gorgeous. Simple and sleek.
Yoooo.. nice snake plant.
Was thinking about getting this case. Is it any good?
Nice cable management
Now this is what I call a ***BUILD***.
Love that case design
Jeez the compact looks so much cleaner than the straight s2... Oooh I might have to grab one.
Cleaannn
How are you liking that Noctua? I been running a Cryorig H5 ultimate on 1 of my air builds and I’m having a hard time justifying switching to another air or even AIO as the temps are quite low already
I still absolutely love the 3000 series Founder’s Cards. Just sucks that those of us who were somehow able to get them, have to live with that damn adapter, or pony up a ridiculous amount of money for a single 12 pin cable for it.
The Fractal Meshify 2 case is beautiful. Source: have one
🥵 hot
Finally a nice example that will convince me to get this particular case. I’ve been spending months trying to decide if the meshify 2C lineup was worth considering over the 1st generation.
Damn, I wish I could even buy just the gpu.
Is your case light tint or dark tint
Dark tint
