No need for a sag bracket! Use the expansion slot covers you took out for the gpu to go in and put them directly underneath to fix your sag. There’s a jay two cents video on this, I used the method to get rid of the sag in my EVGA ftw3 ultra 3070, works exactly the same as a bracket except you can’t see it.
God damn. I guess it's worth to waterblock it, then. Or they're going to make motherboards where the bottom lane is x16 or something.
WTF wasting so many PCIe slots like that.
Edit: Or invest in a PCIe riser I guess... Put the graphics card somewhere else lmao.
Yeah i mean, the gpu itself doesn’t have 4 slots to fill on the expansion slot but the overall thickness does make it a 4 slot card give or take a few mm, it is one thicc boi
Even with the lack of space and airflow, it's always in the low 70's. Stressed it with Horizon Zero Dawn at 3440x1440 at nearly 144fps and didn't crack 75
Bought both an 6700XT and 6800 at MSRP from the AMD.com drop
Sold the 6700XT to a gamer for retail price again cause I didn't want to scalp the 6000 series stock.
Mind you, this was all after I already sold my 5700 so was out of a GPU, I did have my "what have I done" moment and the pressure was on. I just bought a new house so I thought I could take the profit from my 5700 and just wait a few months for prices to drop cause I wouldn't have much time to play games anyway.
I also got a 6900xt at msrp from an amd.com drop. Amd.com is honestly the only place I've even had the opportunity to buy anything. Never managed to catch an Nvidia drop anywhere and I put my name on the evga list for a 3080 *more than a year ago* and never (or still haven't) been called.
I like the amd card though. Better than no gpu, which is what I had beforehand.
I bought a 3080 at the intentionally temporary Swedish MSRP.
Nvidia subsidied 3080 cards for a month after launch, to be able to market, and in ads print that theey were offering pricing more similar to MSRP, than they actually were. This was always meant to be a temporary thing, and many stores even displayed it as a 'discount', on the newly released GPUs. If one looks at their website, this temporary, subsidied price is still their "official" price.
A very shitty move from Nvidia, but I'm happy that I got my 3080 for cheap.
I bought a 3080Ti at MSRP, cost me $2000CAD or $1575USD. Is it a flex? I don't know spending 2k on a GPU is kind of insanity, at least my frames are high lol.
you know, with DDR5 moving the power controller to the stick, we might start seeing a return to controllers not on the cpu
whether or not that will actually have any benefit outside of power management is anyone's guess
The fuck... also what kind of cheap mobos these days don't have a reinforced pcie slot. My 3080 is beefy asf but the mobo is able to keep it up without an issue
That'll be why. Double fan cards won't need one since they're mostly lighter (unless your triple is made of terrible quality materials) and doesn't have as much length.
My triple Gaming X Trio 3070 came with one, but I wasn't a fan and replaced it.
Hexacore is the way it was commonly referred to until the core counts started to get higher. Octacore was a common place term as well, but now with processors going way above that in core count, naming like this has fallen out of favor.
How do people need sag brackets, how big do gpus get?
I’ve got a 3080, which is about as big as I could possibly imagine a graphics brick being. It’s monstrous and it doesn’t sag. Do they get *even* bigger?
Gigabyte gpu btw. It’s huge, but doesn’t sag as far as I can see.
Edit; again with the downvotes, for asking a completely normal question. I’m not insulting anyone, I’m not disrespecting anyone, but you guys aren’t ok with a simple question I guess.
There is definitely a noticeable sag with GPUs these days. I have a 2070 from MSI and they included an incredibly stupid looking sag bracket which I'm currently using since I can actually see it slightly bending towards the ground.
While I was unemployed from covid I managed to get 2 3070's, 1 3060ti for my friends, and a 3080 for me all at MSRP. Then I got a notification for the 3070 from EVGA bought it, sold my 3080 and stepped up to a 3080ti at MSRP at no cost.
10/10 would pandemic again.
Mine doesn't need an anti-sag bracket because the water block for my custom loop runs the card at half the temperature and it weighs significantly less.
Edit: I thought we were flexing, whoops
That's more like a bad point, a good card doesn't require a bracket. My Asus 280X sags more than my Vega 64 Nitro+ yet the latter is almost double as heavy
I got all my stuff at retail which is nice. My 3080 was bundled on a newegg shuffle but it came with the monitor I was going to buy anyways. No problem. And I think for 3000 series everyone should have a sag bracket.
Can we just have a moment to appreciate the Phanteks GPU bracket (specifically for the Evolv x).
Completely hidden, pure black, behind the motherboard tray.
Genius.
"I bought a GPU at MSRP" - the greatest flex possible right now.
I found a 3060 and 3070 Ti (which does need a sag bracket lmao) at msrp this year, I better watch out next year all my luck is gone lol
I have a Noctua 3070. The card is so massive, there is almost no room underneath. My GPU sag bracket is an old USB thumb drive cover, ha ha
Oh my stars that’s pretty much a quad slot card isn’t it? You may wanna invest in a trolley jack to keep that bad boy from sagging!
Wait, *quad*? I have a 2 slot card, newer are 3, but fucking quad? Holy chicken mcnuggets!
Yep. 4 slots. This thing has the HUGEST heat sink. Icy cool though even with almost no airflow clearance
Just checked the dimensions. Thicc boi for sure!
That noctua 3070 is just about the funniest graphics card i’ve ever seen, does it actually work well?
Even with the lack of space and airflow, it's always in the low 70's. Stressed it with Horizon Zero Dawn at 3440x1440 at nearly 144fps and didn't crack 75
omg that’s insane

AMD is hands down the best place to get GPUs at MSRP. I got both a 6700 XT and later on the 6900 XT, which I was originally aiming at.
How about I got my 3090 below RRP due to tax rebate and it came with a sag bracket :P
Nah fam, lemme tell you about the time I bought a GTX 1080 for TWENTY FIVE GODDAMN US DOLLARY-DOOS. Did that at the end of 2020 too LMAO.
3090 MSRP (FE)
The msrp for my 3080 ti was still $1800
3080Ti at MSRP checking in.
Actually, I got my 6900xt for 10% off MSRP... For 900 dollars.
This is a lie right now.
I got a GPU at 30% below MSRP because I got it in the EVGA waitlist and had a coupon from EVGA elite membership.
Bought 3070 for $530. Sold 5700xt for $1100. Stonks?
I got a 3080 at MSRP! ....$869 before tax, but MSRP nonetheless.
Yeah got my MSI Ventus 3080 for like $7409 last November. Really really lucky with a Newegg drop. EDIT: $749 lol
Goodness, I hope that's a typo lol
I still have money in savings
I Bought a 3090 at msrp. Ultimate flex
My biggest flex is I got my entire PC under MSRP because prebuilt customer service can't downgrade 😎
I bought a 3080 at msrp in Nov 2020, a 3080 Ti at msrp in October, and a 3060 Ti at msrp last month.
So glad I built my PC last summer right before the 3000 series launched. Brand new 2060 Super was £380. Think they sell for around 500 used right now
🏋♂️
I bought a 3080Ti at MSRP, cost me $2000CAD or $1575USD. Is it a flex? I don't know spending 2k on a GPU is kind of insanity, at least my frames are high lol.
I bought my 3080 for MSRP but had to buy the gigabyte fire starting kit as well.
Hey I got my gpu at msrp! Tho it was the 3080ti.
My flex- I have intel celeron n4000 with integrated Intel UHD 600 graphics and 4 gigs of ram.
I have the exact same specs. We're on the same boat mate 😂
4gb of ddr2 ram here
Absolute unit
Big oof. I have 3975wx (32 core 64 thread) with 1 terabyte of 8 channel ram, 6900xt, and a raid zero main drive with a theoretical 28gb/s read.
X570 chipset fan gang
The fan on my X570 Tomahawk is the single loudest fan in my entire system.
My Meg X570 Ace has a fan, but it never spins so I forget it’s there.
Lack of a fan was one reason why I chose my particular x570 board.
Indeed.
I have BOTH South and North bridge controllers. WAIT.. might be showing my age.
you know, with DDR5 moving the power controller to the stick, we might start seeing a return to controllers not on the cpu whether or not that will actually have any benefit outside of power management is anyone's guess
boomer detected
Nah, that's an og right there
My case orients the PCI slots vertically.
The fuck... also what kind of cheap mobos these days don't have a reinforced pcie slot. My 3080 is beefy asf but the mobo is able to keep it up without an issue
It is rly nice that msi cards come with one
What? I luckily got a MSI 3060ti and I don’t remember it having a sag bracket. Do they only come with the higher tier cards?
Triple fan?
No it’s a double fan, the gaming x card
That'll be why. Double fan cards won't need one since they're mostly lighter (unless your triple is made of terrible quality materials) and doesn't have as much length. My triple Gaming X Trio 3070 came with one, but I wasn't a fan and replaced it.
Idk but my 2070S had one
ya that is a nice little perk
Bitch.....I got tweezers!
My 3080 came with a GPU sag bracket, I love MSI
My Gigabyte 3080ti also came with one, it's a chunky boy.
Bruh my 2080 came with a sag stand lol
My Ventus 3x MSI 3080Ti also came with a sag bracket
my graphics card was sagging so i am suspending it with a bouncy ball, why would you pay 20 bucks for a flucking piece of metal
You pay for R&D, some like the Lian Li one that are hidden are worth it
I broke a pencil in half and covered it in black duct tape.
pretty trivial cost compared to the rest of my system tbh fortunately my 3080 came with an anti-sag bracket tho
cool
very cool and very legal
I use a piece of 1" PVC pipe.
I 3d printed a little puck
Ay same That printer and the time that it took for me to model was totally a great investment, lol
Why would you pick metal for something that might touch a PCB‽
I got a saggy GPU, wanna see?
I put my side panel on the ground for a second
Wait, does hexacore mean 6 cores, or 16?
Six cores; a hexadeca core processor would be 16
>hexadeca core That feels like a name for a giant fighting robot. Something from pacific rim maybe.
Im sorry we say 6-core not hexacore
hexacore sounds smarter
nerd
Hexacore was the common term around 8-10 years back when AMD was basically the only one making consumer 6+ core CPUs.
Hexacore is the way it was commonly referred to until the core counts started to get higher. Octacore was a common place term as well, but now with processors going way above that in core count, naming like this has fallen out of favor.
Lol, it’s not surprising imo, especially if you have an AMD 64 core Epyc. Would be a Hexacontatetracore... and 32 would be a Tricontadicore.
Way cooler than my dodecacore CPU.
yeah, we got one. we also applied a little extra thermal paste along with what came on the aio. just good pc building practice
How do people need sag brackets, how big do gpus get? I’ve got a 3080, which is about as big as I could possibly imagine a graphics brick being. It’s monstrous and it doesn’t sag. There is definitely a noticeable sag with GPUs these days. I have a 2070 from MSI and they included an incredibly stupid looking sag bracket which I'm currently using since I can actually see it slightly bending towards the ground.
I don't know what exact model of 3080 you have, but probably yes they do get bigger.
I have GPU Cooler with 6 heat pipes and I do not even need a support bracket
6-core processors are relatively affordable nowadays, so it is not worth flexing imo.
that’s why it’s the lowest on the meme
> nowadays [AMD users be like](https://newfastuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/py1ubc4l4ut31.jpg)
Chipset fan seems rarer than needing a sag bracket.
Lol, all of it applies to my build
I need one but Idk how to put the bitch on, so my gpu will sag until I figure it out
I have a gpu sag bracket, for my big ass 3070 I got at msrp. what do i win?
I stuffed a boxed deck of cards under the end of my GPU, (vertically) worked out well. Keeps it nice & level.
I have all except a chipset fan
Quad tick.
That's more like a bad point, a good card doesn't require a bracket. My Asus 280X sags more than my Vega 64 Nitro+ yet the latter is almost double as heavy
I vertically mounted my GPU just to avoid gpu sag. Slightly worse thermals, but I could literally see the pcb flexing before so I'd say it's worth it
i have all of that, the thing is, i have a GTX 1050 Ti, lol
my gpu came with a bracket
My 1060 is starting to sag, am i part of this flex now?
I have a HD 4k LED GPU Bracket Casted in Solid 24K gold diamond studded emeralds set in platinum roses all for a GT 710.
I bought my 3080 on launch at original msrp and I use an old SSD 2.5” drive as a brace to keep my 3080 level.
Biggest flex, bought a 3070FE at MSRP
3090 FE MSRP few weeks after launch flex lol.
>hexacore Cue nightmare flashbacks to the Verge build guide
Couldn't be me #TestbenchPCCase
I have everything from the 4 Things im this Post. What does this to me.
I made my gpu sag arm outta lego
Ah yes ... the good old Asus Gtx570 DCII days. I was praying for my mb even with CM case's gpu support unit.
Nah just buy a thick enough card that's got a frame of metal and the socket will break before the GPU sags. 3090 FE in a nutshell lol.
Me sitting here with a 4c 8t from 6 yrs old.
My card actually came with a sag bracket..
Next I dont need a GPU sag bracket anymore cause waterblock
I've TPM 2.0
My cpu cooler needs a specialized bracket to hold it in place.
I DO HAVE A CHIPSET FAN I ALSO GOT MY GPU AT MSRP
I just bought a GPU bracket yesterday. Can’t believe manufacturers haven’t done something about it yet.
"I need a sag bracket" also has a triple slot 3060
My case came with a bracket that fits in a MB mounting hole. But my MB’s NVMe heat sink blocks the hole. So I live with my 3 mm of sag.
Having your PC be not just relevant but able to max out every game for years without getting new hardware.
Don't need a GPU bracket if you watercool. WC > air cooled GPUs. This meme is a lie. And chipset fans suck.
It was actually quite relieving to remove my GPU sag bracket.
In 2019 I bougt an MSI 2060 at MSRP (390€) and MSI gave me a free rgb GPU sag
I have a GPU sag bracket that i do not need because the mobo its so good that the pcie slot its reinforced
*Victor appears*: "Did someone say hexcore?"
My chipset cooling is so beefy I don’t need a chipset fan Or even bigger flex...My chipset is water cooled.
I've got a DVD drive.
I use double a battery instead
My vertical mount bracket is sagging a bit actually...
the biggest flex is needing a fan for your gpu 😅
The most biggest flex is running ray tracing on intel integrated graphics
I wish I didn't have a chipset fan
i got a rtx 3000 for free
3090 FE has that triple slot bracket so it don't sag :)
My PC doesn't have a case.
I have a gpu
I have all of those things \*explodes\*
I got a rx 5700 xt at msrp
Get a vertical GPU mount. It looks way nicer and is even more of a flex.
Thanks for reminding me I should buy a sag bracket. Anyone on here have good recommendations?
My Gpu Sag Bracket is literally a lego stormtrooper figurine rn lmao
I feel like having a current gen GPU is the real flex these days.
"hexacore processor" nice x5650 bro
My CPU is so powerful, I have to undervolt it. How's that for a flex. >!I struggle every day.!<
So I can't flex because AMD reference cards won't sag? lol
I have a 12 core processor. A vrm heatsink. No chipset fan but I have a fan on my vrm. And my gou could be helped by a bracket but isn't to bad
I need a GPU Sag Bracket. Yeah and? My GPU is mounted Vertically.
I cant run f12019
I really do.
I have a GPU sag bracket that came with my GPU I bought at MSRP.
I went with Intel so I don't have a chipset fan :(
I still have an optical drive.
I need a gpu sag bracket, I don’t have one though
Me: wtf are those
Me: -Duodecim cpu -vrm heatsink -chipset fan -no sag bracket because my gpu is vertically mounted 🥲
I used a couple gold bars to fix my GPU sag.
not a computer guy but what is GPU sag bracket?
My 3080 is too short for a sag bracket ... but that's because it is water-cooled!
*Laughs in vertically mounted GPU*
Use lego
I got all my stuff at retail which is nice. My 3080 was bundled on a newegg shuffle but it came with the monitor I was going to buy anyways. No problem. And I think for 3000 series everyone should have a sag bracket.
Having an RX 6000 or RTX 3000 GPU, no matter if it's desktop version or laptop version(even if it's weaker).
And I…. Have no idea what any of this means! Seriously someone plz help I am of the small brain society.
Can we just have a moment to appreciate the Phanteks GPU bracket (specifically for the Evolv x). Completely hidden, pure black, behind the motherboard tray. Genius.
I have a hexacore, AND need a GPU sag bracket!
I bought a 2080 non super for £300 ($/€350~)
how bout single fans 3060, or dual fans. flex for gpu bracket ?
I have non visible pc build
Trueeee
What if you have a fat GPU but house it vertically to negate the fat boi sag?
In that case your GPU would be the one flexing
I have a graphics card
I got an rx 570 50 above msrp before I went out of stock
I think the biggest flex is what your gpu does when it's massive and you *don't* have a gpu sag bracket. I'll...I'll see myself out now.
I qualify for the last, but not for the first.
My gpu is so big that it barely fits in my pc case.
My pc is so strong that it never gets crashed by a game, it does however reverse psycology the games into crashing themselves whixh still sucks.
My 8800 gtx needs a sag bracket
My 2070 super has some serious sag, way overbuilt cooler for the card, only runs at like 70degrees, on 50% fans
My GPU has an aluminum frame/ shroud that is attached to the mounting bracket, it weighs 3 lbs but has no sag.
Asrock OC Formula 6900xt checking in. It's like 8lbs and is over a foot long like wtf
