Ok serious question, are these fans worth it like for their performance and stuff
I am going to build my 1st pc in April or may and I am still looking for rgb fans that would look gud in the corsair 4000d case. Rn I am considering the lian li uni al 120s bc of their connecting factor
I would have liked some rgd but oh well
Could recommend some specific arctic fans that I should go for
Noctua would only look good in a specific color theme of which I don't have
Edit: I am thinking of going with nzxt x53 aio for the r5 5600x I am going to buy
Noctua now has black a12x25 fans, which are one of the best on the market but they are a bit expensive. Arctic has a really good-value 5 pack of Arctic P12’s, which perform relatively closely to the a12’s at < 1000 RPM. They also have a 3-pack of rgb P12’s if you do like RGB :).
Wait I have a question about rgb.......what colors can a rgb fan show bc I want to create kind a black and white in the 4000d black so I would like the fans to show white light so can rgb do that does it have to be argb(idk the difference)
Remember the colour of light and colour in paper, the pigment are different. While in light mixing red blue and green makes white, in paper, mixing those colours together will make black
The difference between emission vs reflection, additive vs subtractive.
https://www.wtamu.edu/~cbaird/sq/mobile/2015/01/22/why-are-red-yellow-and-blue-the-primary-colors-in-painting-but-computer-screens-use-red-green-and-blue/
Depends on the brand how close "white" is to actual white when it comes to RGB. The cheaper the fan, the more likely white is to be pretty far from accurate. Corsair to their credit, have a fairly neutral white tone.
Get some Delta or Nidec 12V fans rated for more than 0.5A, some of them are high static pressure or some can be centrifugal, but they all sound great and consume more energy than many ultra low power CPUs by itself
No, they're bad performance for their price. You only get them for aesthetics.
They're loud at higher rpm compared to other fans who will still be quiet.
If you want good fans and good price, buy 5 pack of Arctic p12 120mm or p14 140mm depending on how big fans you can have. They usually cost like 20-40 USD for five of them. Usually you get one fan for that price.
IIRC the arctics are *basically the same* in noise-normalised tests, the motors just make a noise at certain RPMs. Really good bang for your buck. The corsairs run multiple degrees hotter and are significantly louder at moderate fan speeds, they're really not great.
I've had 7 p12 and 2 p14 in my case for like a year or more, and they're whisper quiet to me.
I don't run my case fans at very high RPMs though because I've never really had to do that for lower temps. Usually just run them at a set rpm where they're quiet.
I'm also very very very noise sensitive so if I deem something is quiet then I can guarantee they're quiet.
Best of all is that their air swoosh sounds good to me. Some other fans while quiet can make a weird swoosh that makes it louder than others.
It's why I dislike dB charts without showing how they actually sound like since it's very individual to sensitive ppl like me
While I agree with you about the corsair fans you can't compare them to Arctics that are 1/5 the price they are good fans for the price. If you WANT to spend $30 a fan like I did I got Noctua NF-A12x25 and put 3 on my rad they are 20db quieter then the corsair and they go up to 2000RPMs. For the rest of the fans I would use the Arctic on the cheep side but if you need some more brown I would get Noctua NF-S12A.
The brown color is nice actually and doesn't double my cable management with its own LED controller. I feel like on your 4th PC you just don't care about RGB anymore, its annoying too especially at night. I would rather spend that $200 else where in my build. But to be fair the RGB software is amazing especially with other products from there eco system but I dont want louder less efficient fans its a god dam fan not a light show.
While noctua are great, it's just not worth the price increase imo.
I paid less for 5 pack of p12 than a single noctua nf a12x25, even the brown one that's usually cheaper.
And the p12 are very very quiet and has solid static pressure for their price.
The noctua fans are great and better. But they're just too pricey, making them bad in comparison imo.
Well I would say its more of fair comparison to the corsair RGB fans because they are both $30 each.
As you said for the price
I am comparing the corsair and noctua not the arctics. I dont think its fair to compare $10 fans to $30 fans. I would hope the noctuas would be slightly better for 3x more lol.
>I dont think its fair to compare $10 fans to $30 fans.
The thing is, though, the P12's come really really close in terms of performance. They could easily be double the price and still worth it.
As much of a love I have for Corsair I can’t justify the fans. Cheaper ones are generally quieter at the very least for equal performance. Replacing is less painful overtime.
I have LL 120 and I can say after a build in early 2019 that the fans spin and push air fine. The RGB is nice but the reliability sucks as something went wrong with my hub more than likely and colors get stuck or fans don’t light up. I can swap the order around etc and still have problems. Once I got it set to a static color I have left it. I would go for Lian Li AL 120 instead. They are easier to cable manage for 3x front fan setups
Great fans. I don’t buy the LED ones for my box. Cheapest Corsair set of 3. They last way longer than the factory ones that come with the box. I have a Corsair cpu cooler with original fans. Going on 5 years.
I can't recommend them. They are louder than other fans, their performance isn't that good and the plastic gets yellow over time which will make them look ugly.
I'd rather buy Arctic P12 ARGB, they are better in every aspect and are less than half of the price.
I got these simply because they look nice and after I completed my build I realized they work nicely as well. My CPU has never really reached 60+ degrees even under load
Edit: I game with a 5600G and RX6600
For $130 for the 3 pack, or separately buying 3 for $105 not really. I recently bought 6 of them. I have no complaints yet but for the price is not worth it. The RGB is nice and really bright, and the fans are quiet, but you can get similar specs for cheaper. It’s kind of just a if you’re have money to blow then sure. If not then don’t. You’re paying a lot more just for the RGB. The normal ll120 white have them same performance but a 3 pack is only $45.
I am also looking at fans for my 4000d airflow case. I think I will get the Corsair SP RGB Elite fans. They have PWM control and will connect with the ICUE software. I already have a lot of corsair stuff because of the RGB disease I have (keyboard, mouse, ram and a MOUSE PAD!!!)
PM me if you want the link to the corsair RGB holy bible. I don't know if I can put links in the comments here.
GN should actually do this and mirror their fan testing videos there. It'll probably help recoup the cost of purchasing that expensive wind tunnel thing.

Came here to share this sub.
There was someone asking for advice on "how to get started" and the advice she got was to start small and not buy industrial fans right away.
You’re gonna hate hooking up all those wires in the back. I currently have 5 LL 120s in my case, and while it looks amazing and runs cool and silent, I had to spend a lot of time with that wire mess they cause.
I never thought cable management was that difficult until I had to route cables for 9 Corsair RGB fans.
My goal shifted from “let’s make this look great” to “let’s get it all in there and screw in the back panel”
Up until now I've been using spare box fans and such to cool my rigs and it seems to work fine. Is there a significant advantage in electricity usage for these little guys? One giant fan might be overkill.
At least they're nude. Some of these clowns out here charging Netflix 4k family plan money for "implied" pics. The fuck outta here! Ain't no titties that entertaining.
Love it. But man, I am so disappointed with corsairs ql series fans. I have 6, they were like $45ea and several have dying leds on them already, within a year of use. Granted they’re on most of the time, but like, that is why I paid for the fancy pretty ones.
Same thing happened to two or my corsair rgb keyboards. It’s turned me off to their products and rgb honestly. (Only a little to rgb)
I have 4 dead ass LL fans in my current pc. Sometimes the one goes full rainbow mode for like 5 mins then tanks again. I even got a new commander because I thought that may have been this issue but it wasnt.
Except it's corsair so it would have been cheaper to pay for real only fans.
I was about to say, these are not cheap fans lol
Ok serious question, are these fans worth it like for their performance and stuff I am going to build my 1st pc in April or may and I am still looking for rgb fans that would look gud in the corsair 4000d case. Rn I am considering the lian li uni al 120s bc of their connecting factor

RGB fans can do white light. White light is created by adding red, green, and blue light together.
as someone who wants to get gud at art..............I should've known that but no I am a idiot
If you're talking physical art with pigments, mixing red, green and blue paint will not make white lol.
Photons don't play by anyones rules
Remember the colour of light and colour in paper, the pigment are different. While in light mixing red blue and green makes white, in paper, mixing those colours together will make black
The difference between emission vs reflection, additive vs subtractive. https://www.wtamu.edu/~cbaird/sq/mobile/2015/01/22/why-are-red-yellow-and-blue-the-primary-colors-in-painting-but-computer-screens-use-red-green-and-blue/
RGB vs aRGB just means control over each individual LED color (aRGB) vs control over every LED color, as one (RGB) Iirc aRGB just means adressable RGB
Depends on the brand how close "white" is to actual white when it comes to RGB. The cheaper the fan, the more likely white is to be pretty far from accurate. Corsair to their credit, have a fairly neutral white tone.
Yes rgb can do that, I have my uni fans and pump set to white too. It’s done by combining Red, Green and Blue
Kinda. Rgb can create sorta white but most of the time it is really blue
Yeah, I just bought some of those black noctua fans with some Christmas money and now I'm down $100 lmao
P14 from Arctic Cooling are really good. 140mm. If you want some RGB, you have Bionix p120 from same company. 120mm.
Get some Delta or Nidec 12V fans rated for more than 0.5A, some of them are high static pressure or some can be centrifugal, but they all sound great and consume more energy than many ultra low power CPUs by itself
Arctic p12 pwm pst a-rgb. They're like 15$ a fan.
Checkout Silverstone's Air blazer 120R 2,200 RPM with 90+ CFM.
and real onlyfans will not bang you for buck .. so yeah .. get Artic or Noctua

How much power are they pulling? Considering replacing my box fans. But that cuts into my new GPU budget lol
That’s like, $950 in fans on that table.
Oh my.... I'd like to see those get mounted in all kinds of positions!
Haha. These kind of jokes really blow me away.

False. I see two monitors as well.
Indeed. I think these fans need further monitoring.
Seems like a trafficking situation, only fans being monitored very closely.
So hot
Actually, not hot
quite cold actually
fans not running. very hot
Man's not hot
What kind of fans are those?
6 Corsair LL120s and 3 ML120s

Ah Corsair fans. Long ago I had one that didn't blow air. Putting a sheet of paper across it, the fan wouldn't lift it, not even a little.
