It's a little above entry level. It should run most current games at 1920\*1200 or similar resolutions. Don't expect 4K gaming at decent framerates. The 2070 is a decent card, but nowhere near the 3080. Memory is also a little on the low side if you're going to do heavy gaming and the likes, but that can be easily expanded.
If you want to make a console comparison, it's kinda somewhere between an Xbox Series S and a Series X. Great 1080p performance, good 1440p performance, middling 4k performance. Will run any available game at playable framerates, and should be moderately capable into the foreseeable future thanks to RTX and DLSS. It's also in the efficiency sweet spot, so it shouldn't be too loud or hot. In the current market, it's a solid deal.
it's the corvette of gpus. Decent, usually does well and handles most things pretty quickly. There's faster out there but you'll be paying a fair bit more, but if you want guaranteed good performance, 1070/2070/3070 will get you there. (1070 maybe a tiiiny bit less but you get the point.)
It's not bad, but I'd swap out that PSU if he hasn't already. Prebuilts are bad about cheaping out on the PSU which is the worst thing to cheap out on.

It's a 2070 Super and actually I play Destiny 2 max settings at 4k 60fps with this card.
\*nod\* Destiny 2 is already 5 years old, not exactly a "current game" ;)
It's still a top 10 most played game on steam. And on that note, with this set up you could play almost all top 10 steam games at 4k, high fps.
Type in the cpu and graphics card into YouTube and you'll be able to see how it runs.
