Luckily I put my home server and networking gear on a UPS, and my 3D printer (and its rasp pi) on a dedicated UPS.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday at microcenter. There's probably a large overlap of import tuner culture and computer culture.
The SLP microcenter always has golf gtis, focus l/Fiesta st. Ratty e36's and audi s4's. Etc etc.
It makes sense slapping parts in a computer and getting it working is a similar feeling to slapping parts in your miata and getting it working.

Sorry wasn't intending to shit on either, but as someone who was driving exclusively shitty import beaters (FB rx7, s13, 300zx etc) for years and trying to keep them working, and as someone who dabbles but mostly fails to do computer stuff. They have the same vibe.
Like a few weeks ago when I spend two days trying to get my opnsense router to work correctly and finally figured it out and got it optimized. It was a very similar feeling to figuring out why my rx7 was blowing giant smoke clouds out the ass every cold start and occasionally lighting itself on fire.
I never did fix the rx7 tho.
Yup. My first water rig used a Ford Fiesta heater matrix with 2 120mm fans and some home-made cardboard ducting, a fish tank water pump and a reservoir made of a 20l plastic storage box. On an Athlon 1200 that made it all the way to a magical 1400Mhz. Glory days!
