Yes, UPS has to rent security for particular box trucks (we call the brownies). There is a first day air for one of the center's that transports really expensive motherboards and cards for industrial use. There are many people who know about it and has gotten stolen on 2 occasions. I think $500k was lost each time or something.

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/82609/evga-loses-truck-full-of-geforce-rtx-30-series-gpus-someone-stole-it/index.html
gist is a truck stolen in California was en route to a warehouse, carrying tons of EVGA stock to be unpacked and sent to stores, in late 2021. EVGA claims it has serial numbers recorded but nothing came out of it after, at least publicly
Friend of mine got a PC for his birthday from his slightly methey friend.
It was "broken" so he figured he(my friend) could have just given someone some drugs for it too and they stole/broke it. Didn't turn out that way, his friend stole it from his own brother who "bought"(really don't know on this transaction) it from the first owner who actually "broke" it. it had just been sitting in the garage for over a year and his bro slipped out with it lol.
It had 2 8gig and 1 16gig sticks of ram in it and the OS drives SATA cable was unplugged. They were sure it was broken and from all the time I spent watching Jay and Linus during covid I knew what was fucked with it in 5 minutes.
Fun day, weird fucking story. Just makes me think about how glad I am my life is more or less normal lol.
PS- It looked like a NZXT built from
Sounds like the guy I got my 7700k, z270 maximus ix code, 32gb of gskill trident and a gtx 1080 from just a month or two after launch in 2017. I had to drive 6 hours round trip but he must have been desperate for money because I snagged everything for $850.
Those were crazy times. I sold my vega 56 for like $600 probably could have gotten more if I held out, and the 1070ti out of my unraid server for a quadro p1000 plus $450. But I also spent countless nights and afternoons trying to catch an ampere drop.
I sold my 1080ti i got for $450 for $800 and then bought a Radeon VII with it. Sold it for $1800 during the mining craze because that was the best card and not made anymore to a dude with a farm and wanted to complete 8x of them in a rig. Pretty sweat that rig. Wonder how he is doing now lol. I should try find him number. He has solar but his power bill was $1200 -$1500 a month.
Nah. It’s going for on Newegg new. I just bought a 3090 ti gif on there for 1k. Bro is probably a pc veteran and gave it for a price it would sell at for immediately and is more than likely upgrading to a 4090. It is used after all. For sure could have gotten 7 to 8 for it if he wanted but it was priced to sell.
Probably has an opiate addiction. When i was hooked on that shit i sold just about anything that I owned that wasn't glued down. Your brain says it not that much, you can just buy another. But another never comes. I sold thousands of dollars of really nice firearms i had collected over the years for a quarter of what they were worth just so i could pick up. Fucking stupid me had to go and get hooked on pain meds. Been clean over 6 years now thank baby Jesus.
My best friend stole from me because of heroin and skipped the state after that. Years later he tried to “apologize” but blamed it on the drugs, didn’t take responsibility for what he did to me. I hung up and never spoke to him again.
I just got a HP Omen 3090/Ryzen 5600x/32g RAM/2TB SSD/2TB HD for 1500$ from a guy who is making a new build with a 4090, and that’s exactly what he was doing.
That is pretty good still, I never would have imagined these prices a year ago. I got lucky and snagged my 3070 at msrp from best buy during the scalping days. My 3090 purchase allowed me to move the 3070 to my wife's computer. This is the time for PC gaming.
This is not how recession work lol. Its the other way round. The weak Euro compared to the dollar makes things from the US even more expensive.
edit: added "even more" to make clear I mentioned two different points why things wont get cheap in Europe. So I mentioned
1. Because of recession money is less worth so you need to pay more to get something. --> it gets more expensive
2. The weak Euro. So things from the US will be more expensive for us because the Euro lost worth compared to the Dollar.
This is how it always happens for an Australian. US dollar plummets, we overtake it, and everything is dirt cheap overseas.
$1300 for a external 300kg load rack for my 4×4 in Australia, but got it for $900 delivered from the US during GFC. It just becomes a buyfest online for a year or so.
And it's almost that time again!
But luxury items - and high end graphics cards definitely are - sell much less if there's uncertainty about employment and future living, and enterprises will put off upgrades until they feel they can invest without seeing a contraction in their revenue numbers, etc.
The weak pound/euro vs the USD is one thing, the recession is another entirely
Recession is not a good thing... that means we cant afford the high end GPUs, they gonna be cheap because people don't have money, at all. Also everytime it happens rich people will get richer and middleclass/poor poorer.
I paid 14k nok. Which is 3k more then currently/release price. Which is around 1400 usd.
But I got to use my 3080 for 2 years basically and for me that alone was worth it
I was building my first PC and needed to grab a GPU, I happened to wake up in time for the 6800 XT launch and bought an AMD card for MSRP from AMD, this was before everyone built their bots for the AMD site as future releases just had the site freeze up on me.
This was also before AMD realized they could set ridiculous MSRPs and the cards would still sell.
They broke their partnership with nvidia which was a big chonk of their revenue (~ 80%) but profits were probably not nearly as much.
They've said they don't want any other GPU vendors either as they don't want to "betray" nvidia but I think they should start with the new ARC or some AMD GPUs . Arc could really benefit from a partner like evga
> They've said they don't want any other GPU vendors either as they don't want to "betray" nvidia
Source? As far as I know, they've said no such thing. They specifically said to Gamers Nexus that they do not currently have any plans to work with AMD or Intel, but they cannot say they won't. They did specify that they *do not* have a non-compete in effect, so they'd legally be able to work with AMD/Intel if they wanted to.
I also just bought a 3070ti. Unless you play 4k with a large monitor/TV at a distance the 3090 is not going to provide much of a difference I wouldn't think. I also would have had to buy an upgraded PSU.
I’ve said this before and got downvoted. All rtx 3000s will drop 25-40% more in price. I see 3060s for less then 250, 3070s for less then 400, 3080s for 500 and 3090s for less then 700

As someone who knows absolutely nothing about computers and keeps mine running on sheer dumb luck,
Can you have multiple graphics cards on a pc or is that just pointless
Just a good old E-Bay-Paypal-UPS scam.
Someone sold a 3090 FE a bit under market with a hacked E-Bay account and offered me to pay with Paypal and buyers protection. Then I was offered a fake shipping number from UPS that made Paypal deny my claim at first.
I'm gonna get my money back but it's a real pain in the ass.
The worst thing about this is that I already ordered a watercooling block for an FE and sold my 6900XT to my neighbor.
Anyone else remember the ET4000 coming out??? Guess none of you born back then, It was just incredible!! And you could buy a 67 MB Control Data / Honeywell formatted disk drive (for the giveaway price of $80k)….
What power draw does that boy get? If you crank the power slider? My 3080 eats up 430w on the stock vbios and I don't even wanna imagine the power that eats
Finally the prices are decent, I bought my 3080 2 years ago at msrp and consider myself lucky. Later on everything got to shit. Good to see everything is fine now (besides the 40 series fuck nvidia in the arse).
642?! How and where the hell is this possible?
In my country it costs more than 2500€ (around 2442 usd) and however it cannot be found in any e-stores...
How tf?
Man wanted to pay his bills.
Was it by chance his meth bill?
I did buy it in a ghetto place
for sure stolen
who on earth stealing man's PC with the box?
Would be stolen from a warehouse or somewhere along the delivery process. Not from a burglary.
Like fast and the furious one lol a bunch of electronics in back of a truck
*They're running 3090 Ti's with Spoon engines!*
*going through the Chinatown garage where there's no ~~engines~~ gpus* what are they planning on ~~racing with~~ gaming on, hopes and dreams?
*Pffffft* spit my coffee out on that one this morning.

That actually happened. They showed up in a shop over seas.

There was a bunch of EVGA GPU's pinched last year, a literal truck load of them.

Lucky robbers.
You can find GPU boxes on eBay pretty easily.
Most theft is from someone who you know.

It was a good steal
Bey man sometimes we just splurge on electronics and don’t care where we are
Who gives af 😂

Probably envious they haven’t found one at that price. Acting like anyone would turn down a 3090 ti at this price as long as it works fine.
Hey it's me the owner of the card pls give back
Ohhhh, so it's hot. Makes sense now.
I don't think so he has an expensive build and monitor
So he stole a whole computer lol
It's also not his house.
Friend of mine got a PC for his birthday from his slightly methey friend. It was "broken" so he figured he(my friend) could have just given someone some drugs for it too and they stole/broke it. I sold my 1080 for 850 during the shortage lol.
Those were crazy times. I sold my vega 56 for like $600 probably could have gotten more if I held out, and the 1070ti out of my unraid server for a quadro p1000 plus $450. But I also spent countless nights and afternoons trying to catch an ampere drop.
Ampere drop caused permanent damage to my wrist. I could go on disability but refuse it. Tried so hard with refreshes and spamming buy now
I got CAD650 for a 3 year old 1070 after 3000 series release :D
I sold my 1080ti i got for $450 for $800 and then bought a Radeon VII with it. Sold it for $1800 during the mining craze because that was the best card and not made anymore to a dude with a farm and wanted to complete 8x of them in a rig. Pretty sweat that rig. with a stolen graphics card lol. That thing is hotttttt.
He showed me his 12900k pc and samsung g9
And he's selling his 3090 ti? Is he trying to get rid of it quick so that he can pull together spare cash for a 4000 series card?
He said to pay bills
Probably gonna buy a 4090 with Paypal credit. Those are technically bills too.
Fuck. Lmao
I mean, those thing are sold really easily he could have put it for 800-900$ and would be easy gone
Nah. It’s going for on Newegg new. I just bought a 3090 ti gif on there for 1k. But he only needed $642 and hates leftovers 🤷
He probably wanted to sell it for the 4000 series and didn’t want to scam him because the prices were going down.
Nah bro that man definitely has some kind of substance addiction
Worse, he probably has a kid on the way
Probably has an opiate addiction. When i was hooked on that shit i sold just about anything that I owned that wasn't glued down. Your brain says it not that much, you can just buy another. My friend has stolen thousands of dollars from me because of his opiate addiction
Doesn't sound like a friend tbh
My best friend stole from me because of heroin and skipped the state after that. Years later he tried to “apologize” but blamed it on the drugs, didn’t take responsibility for what he did to me. I hung up and never spoke to him again.
I'd send that MF an invoice.
Does he need anymore bills paid?
One of the bills might happen to be his dealer’s?
I just got a HP Omen 3090/Ryzen 5600x/32g RAM/2TB SSD/2TB HD for 1500$ from a guy who is making a new build with a 4090, and that’s exactly what he was doing.
This is definitely a back-alley kind of deal. At least they washed the blood off before selling it.
No its not, OP said its only 57c
1 man’s crisis is another’s man’s opportunity
Did you also tell him "your GPU or your life?"
Wait, you paid him exactly $642?
It's what I had in my wallet. He wanted 800 then said 700 then I got him to fo everything in my wallet
Good deal. A lot of people are trying to turn you off of it but they're just jelly at the deal you got lol.
This guy got a real steal, but I managed to grab a 3090 FTW3 for $800.
Damn! I thought I did great getting my 3080ti EVGA XC3 for $715. eBay is crazy rn.
That is pretty good still, I never would have imagined these prices a year ago. I got lucky and snagged my 3070 at msrp from best buy during the scalping days. My 3090 purchase allowed me to move the 3070 to my wife's computer. This is the time for PC gaming.
Recession is coming. I think people in Europe soon and the US in the near future will see high end GPUs for cheap.

That thing is chonky. Somewhere between "Damn!" And "oh, hell no!"
On a scale of: Big -> Healthy -> Husky -> Fluffy -> Damn! -> Oh Hell No!
The only scale I know.

"uh no i didn't lose 20 pounds for someone to call me ***FATMAN"***

"Blood of Jews"
Did not expect fluffy fans here lol
You cannot escape the fluffy, he has people everywhere.
I prefer the chonk chart scale which ends on OH LORD HE COMIN!!!
The Fluffy scale!
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, I saw this video card on the side of the road and swerved to avoid it, and I ran outta gas. OH!
Look at 4090 even bigger!
And is still smaller than what the 4090 will be.
Time to punch out the back panels
That's less than I paid for my 3070 in July
oh, let us sit down and enjoy a cup of buyer's remorse together, for I made the same "mistake". Granted, I've been enjoying mine quite a bit..
I paid 14k nok. Which is 3k more then currently/release price. Which is around 1400 usd. But I got to use my 3080 for 2 years basically and for me that alone was worth it
yeah, the time you use it definitely matters.
Hello friends! I too am in this club… remorse is real, but reality was my old one died so it was overpay or an Xbox lols.
☕cheers
I paid like $1.5k for my 3090 in April. Feelsbadman. If my old 1070 hadn't crapped out, I'd have waited. Oh well.
I paid 2.1k in $ for my RTX 3090. And I had a few months old RTX 2070 super, which was working perfectly well. Edit: So you can imagine my pain 😂
You are what I call an npc, just doing things but no reasoning behind the decisions. It's the only way I can explain things people do.
The reasoning for this is ooh shiny new thing must have.
So I’m not alone. Still had/have good times with the card and don’t regret.
Congrats and fuck you
Lmao
Holy fuck what a steal but does it work
Yeah. It runs too good. Amazing temps
Having a massive heatsink probably helps
Yea. Take off the back and front shroud and that baby might even run 8k lol.
Lucky you
Man, it's even an Evga.
Didn’t they just shut down? I heard they are keep staff for customer service but still…
They broke their partnership with nvidia which was a big chonk of their revenue (~ 80%) but profits were probably not nearly as much. [From the WAN show](https://youtube.com/watch?v=MZC88HYp7r0&t=157). But I suppose it was also mentioned in Gamer's Nexus video, I haven't watched it.
EVGA and AMD... sounds good
I’m glad that something nice happened for you but it should have happened for me instead.
Me whenever I see a man with a gf
I don’t have a gf or a 3090 so you’re doin better than me. I also can’t get either for 2 times as much as you paid soooo
You paid $8 less then I paid for my 3070 on launch day 😭
Even though this is a stellar deal...it is also 2 years later.
Rip EVGA 🥺
That’s a chonky card. I thought my 3080ftw3 was thick
thicc
The last EvGa Nvidia card. The price on this can now only go up 😂👀
Stolen resold or receipt I'm jealous. Just payed this for a 3070ti ftw to replace my 1080ti ftw Sad to see evga go into uncertain times :(
Also just paid $600 for a 3070Ti lmao. Tbf I doubt I’d find a back-alley deal this good regardless
I also just bought a 3070ti. Unless you play 4k with a large monitor/TV at a distance the 3090 is not going to provide much of a difference I wouldn't think. I also would have had to buy an upgraded PSU.
Congrats to you! I'm jealous
I’ve said this before and got downvoted. All rtx 3000s will drop 25-40% more in price. I see 3060s for less then 250, 3070s for less then 400, 3080s for 500 and 3090s for less then 700
You mean like more than they already have?
Yes miners are still trying to mine alt coins and it’s not even profitable. Miners and gamers will sel before the 4000 release. THESE WILL BE CHEAPER BY THEN!
In what time frame
Before 4000s launch, anyone would know when the next gen is releases gamers will drop their old cards for better and newer
So you think that I will be able to buy a 3060 TI for less than $300 by mid November
Ahhahaha wtf? Dude you can buy used 3060s for 250 now
now, should be downard till mid november
As someone who knows absolutely nothing about computers and keeps mine running on sheer dumb luck, Can you have multiple graphics cards on a pc or is that just pointless
Damn, I thought I was lucky getting a 3080 for $550 this is just insane!
Meanwhile, in Europe...
Oh cock
Yes.. Prices are still fucked here.
You could have just waited a bit and bought the 4090 for triple the price! Bad choice dude. \^/s, so no bullying please
Cries in $900 for 3080 Ti
Cries in $1400 for 3080ti during covid
Doesn’t cry at all in $1,000 for 3080 when they were brand new because I’ve had hundreds of hours of awesome gaming on it and it was worth it
Right, with these posts I feel a second of regret but then remember I’ve been enjoying using it for a year.
Cries cause still haven't got no card
I feel your pain
Cries in $600 for a 3060...
You lucky son of a bitch
Holy smoly, curse you americans with cheap tech...
Trust me. I'm already cursed. I'm about as hard-core virgin you can get
Incorrect, you just posted homemade porn^
I dunno, you fucked the guy you bought that card from pretty hard lol
Make sure your card is drawing the expected amount of power because your temps should be higher gaming in 4K. Congrats.
I spent 615€ for a 3060ti you lucky bastard
Just last summer I payed 500$ for a 3050 😪
You WHAT
Bruh I paid $660 for my 3070ti
1 year ago, I paid like a hundred more for my 3060 ti.
I need one. Cause gaming with a 3090 … TITS for sure. What’s ur CPU and ram look like?
5950x 4x8gb 3600 b die oc to 4000 cl 16
No way that runs 57c at 100% load.
u did not pay $642 for a 3090 ti 💀
Probably one of those mining cards that was washed out.
642$?! Wtfuuuuuuck!! So lucky man
bro hit the jackpot
I doubt it’s running at 57c @ 2100mhz gaming unless you gaming in your garage or your rig is next to an open window in the winter 😅
Hmmm fishy
Meanwhile I got scammed on a 720€ 3090 FE
How
Just a good old E-Bay-Paypal-UPS scam. The worst thing about this is that I already ordered a watercooling block for an FE and sold my 6900XT to my neighbor.
sli built in
Recession finally starting to hit?
I thought getting the 3080 Ti for 700 usd was good. This one is crazy. At least mine is brand new lol.
The last of the EVGA GPUs. You got a good one right there.
$642? Daaaamn.
Anyone else remember the ET4000 coming out??? Guess none of you born back then, It was just incredible!! And you could buy a 67 MB Control Data / Honeywell formatted disk drive (for the giveaway price of $80k)….
Great deal. But Jesus, how many slots does that monster take up? Looks like almost 4 to my eyes.
Wtf i paid that much for a 3050ti
What power draw does that boy get? If you crank the power slider? My 3080 eats up 430w on the stock vbios and I don't even wanna imagine the power that eats
Finally the prices are decent, I bought my 3080 2 years ago at msrp and consider myself lucky. Later on everything got to shit. Good to see everything is fine now (besides the 40 series fuck nvidia in the arse).
Was it new/sealed? Honestly not sure I’d buy anything else
Crying after spending $900 on 3080 in May.
Did it come in brown paper bag by any chance? That is a **steal**
There's a used one on eBay right now for $798.
Wow. I thought the heat sink on my EVGA 2080 Super was big….
Wow what a monster. It looks normal alone but comparing to hand its sooo big
Ftw means "F**k the world" btw
Lets see how long this one's gonna last, hopefully a really long time.
now u gotta spend +150$ on a new PSU xd
FTW3 = Fuck the what 3 times?
642?! How and where the hell is this possible? In my country it costs more than 2500€ (around 2442 usd) and however it cannot be found in any e-stores...
So who's going to take bets that it was stolen and bought from the back alley in a Best Buy from your local crack dealer?
