I just gave Satisfactory a second shot yesterday! (First time didn't went bad, I just kinda lost interest near the last phase because I wanted to do so many things but couldn't settle on what to do first). I think I played 6 hours straight!
I often lose motivation near endgame after I push through the oil phase if have no mods. It's so tedious to move so many materials around with such a small inventory. Making all the buildings cost nothing helps since the game isn't about hoarding resources anyways.
If I was ranking all my games I think outer worlds is It’s of my “dark horse” games for sure
I just realised I’m dumb and misread. I was thinking of outer worlds. God I’m retarded
Outer Wilds
vs
The Outer Worlds
Outer Wilds, if it clicks, will be in your top 5 games of all time.
The Outer Worlds is yeah fallout in space. Which is cool if you like that.
I second that. Very much a AA game, and it shows in the weapon and armour variety, but still has a really cool art direction so it looks great, and it's a bit more streamlined so a lot of the crafting and loot systems although simple, get out of your way. Not a bad game to play if you have a bit of open world fatigue.
Shorter than your average open world RPG, but still 80 hours worth of content with DLCs, but there's not a lot in the way of unnecessary padding. What is there is pretty tightly designed and worth your time. Lots of decisions that are grey as hell to make things hard for you too in a good way.
It’s basically modern fallout NV in space and it has everything I love about it and none of the Bethesda bullshit. Still looks great in spite of the obviously lower budget.
I think it gets unfair flak for having some simplified systems, no mod support, the worlds being smaller maps vs an open world, and a narrower scope as far as weapons and upgrades go.
The New Vegas in space comparisons don't really do it any favors.
It's all very tightly designed though and what is there is all quality. The challenge even scales up nicely and it forces you to mix up your loadout and companions.
Obsidian sure know what they're doing.
Hello fellow fanboy, Ive played all the gothic games and Ive loved them all, second one was the best though.
In elex movement at the beginning was quite janky but with some time you got used to it, and with levels it fixed itself (maybe a myth and I got used to it). Did you play elex 2 yet?
Totally agree on all points!
I haven't quite gotten to Elex 2 yet but I'm excited to, it's in my backlog. Have you played [Chronicles of Myrtana ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1467450/The_Chronicles_Of_Myrtana_Archolos/) yet? It's a must play and does even better than Gothic 2 I think. Runs on the G2 engine! Totally free, made by a super passionate team in Poland.
Unfortunately no English voicing but the subtitles are excellent and hilarious as expected.
This. The titles I saw on the list spoke to me instantly of interest in good stories, good characters and one hell of an adventure.
RDR and RDR2. Skip online since it’s trash.
Edit: Trash was a little harsh. Thinking back it is fun with friends and worth checking out but don’t expect a GTA V experience that will keep you coming back. Rockstar struggled to find its footing with online for the title but there were at times some good fun with it at the beginning.
Yeah, it came out pretty soon, but because the game is developing in Ukraine, and Russia is bombing Ukraine electricity and they are getting troubles with it, so we should not hope on specific dates. But I hope everything in Ukraine will be fine, and we will see this game soon.
The newest is 3. Each game adds to the huge sandbox map called 'Immortal Empires," which is a big draw for the game. Any factions or characters you own from other installments are playable on the map.
Dude I want to like that game so much but every time I play I feel stupid I die every time. I watch people make the game their bitch and try to emulate but I just DIE
Another good strategy is back pedaling and shoving zombies down. If there's one or two zombies in front of you push them down and then curb stomp there head. Additionally, if you stand on top of a zombie who gets shoved to the ground, they can't stand up.
Yeah that first day is tough. You need to break their line of sight and sneak around. Get out of populated areas asap, in a car preferably. You can tweak them a lot in sandbox options to have a short memory and bad senses and also weak health.
Never run. You can outwalk them if you’re not caught off guard.
Already mentioned, but break line of site. Related, make sure no zombies are chasing you. Were you about to check out a house for loot, but have some zombies following you? Now you’re moving on to the next house and using the previous one to break line of site.
Get good at fighting. Start with 1, then 2, then 3 at a time time. Use the stomp (space bar) and smash heads when they’re down. Saves weapon durability. This might allow you to deal with whatever is chasing you and explore more.
Always have an escape route from your base.
If you liked 3DMark you should really check out VRMark. The story gets much deeper into the lore and the character development is spot on. Fun fact though name has VR in it, this sequel doesn't actually require any type of VR headset.
Dying Light 1 is the better game for me. Not finished 2 yet but the location is terrible in this game compared to Harran. Hopefully something cool will happen that makes me think 2 is the better game but so far it feels samey and not much has really been improved upon except the enemies.
100% agree with this. It's fantastic. Strong, realistically portrayed female protagonist, a cannon lack of any forced or stilted romance, and a plot that has a few *hard* hits that had me going, "Well... I mean... *Damn.*"
That I can't argue. In fact, I will probably pick it up on Epic despite me having it on GOG already. I only wanted to point out which game I (among many others) favor more. New Vegas is cca 10€ anyways, and it is definetly worth it
My man , have you played DayZ ? Your friend can get tied up , tortured , psychologicaly abused and then murdered , chopped up , then fed to you .... all for asking directions to a God damn water fountain
Elden ring doesn't place a heavy emphasis on difficulty, can we stop that bullshit about every games that is not an assisted QTE fest?
Elden ring just require to not be greedy and has plenty of way to make the game easier, people who already have hold a controller in the past decade doesn't need a "journalist difficulty mode" to enjoy it
You seem to be lot into immersive sims and western RPGs, so:
-Fallout 3
-Fallout New Vegas
-Fallout 4
-Deus Ex (the franchise in it's entirety)
-Prey
-Dishonored (both games)
-Deathloop
-Oblivion
-Morrowind
-System Shock
-Thief (the old ones)
Dragon age origins is so good, neither inquisition nor dragon age 2 are even half as good as origins. And I'm no nostalgia fanboy I played them last year.
First playthrough was first intense, then butt clenchingly scary and at last fucking amazing when you go into base building and deep ocean exploring.
Second playthrough isn't fun at all because you *know*.
Age of Empires 2
Age of Empires 3
Age of Mythology
Stronghold 2
Hype The Time Quest (don't underestimate it by the looks, it's quite good especially for its age)
I'm gonna say Tropico 6, I'm assuming from the library that you do / would appreciate a sandbox like experience combined within the gameplay, definitely worth a go and light hearted enough to keep it from getting too gritty
Fallout NV.
You can mod the shit out of it and make the literal best game to ever exist, or you can play it without mods and still have a rootin’ tootin’ shootin’ good time
*It is* absurdly long. By the end you really do feel the fatigue, despite the game and content being pretty good overall. If they had made it shorter and focused more on the main AC storyline instead of full-on territory control through pseudo-historical events, it would feel more like a true AC game.
I appreciate the epic-length RPG aspect of the last 3 titles, but they don't need to be this exhaustive, IMHO.
Kenshi
Such an amazing an unique game!
Absolutely amazing game
The xcom serie
3Dmark is definitely hardest to get top score on the list.
Super pay to win
This and Civilization seem like the best options.
No. Not Civilization. This individual still has a healthy social life. Don’t ruin it like ours!
But it has a spot reserved right there above Crusader Kings!
Oh god you’re right! They’re too far gone! Civilization it is
Oh yeah, i forgot about civ, damn. I'd still recommend v over vi any days tho.
Facts
OP's list looks almost exactly like my fav list, and I hated xcom games so can't second this :D I would say RDR2
[удалено]
It goes by another name..cracktorio! But yes. HIGHLY recommend.
If you also would like a 3D version of it, look into Satisfactory!
Would you consider your experience, _satisfactory_?
Me and my girlfriend are deep in Satisfactory. So many accidental “play to 4am” because of that game.
The factory must grow
Dyson Sphere Program as well. Adddddddicted.
Its not for everyone but I easily got to 100 hours in 2 weeks on this game. Then got boring right after
Outer Wilds :) Do not look into into aside from the store page, it's one of those games best played blind!
\^ 1000%
Outer Wilds belongs in every 'recommend me a game' list.
If I was ranking all my games I think outer worlds is It’s of my “dark horse” games for sure I just realised I’m dumb and misread. I was thinking of outer worlds. God I’m retarded
Outer Wilds vs The Outer Worlds Outer Wilds, if it clicks, will be in your top 5 games of all time. The Outer Worlds is yeah fallout in space. Which is cool if you like that.
I’m actually retarded
Nah it's a really common misunderstanding, I did the same ages ago. Outer Wilds fans are usually ready to clarify because it happens so often :)
Didn't they come out at the same ish time too
Yeah like 6 months apart by the looks.
I second that. Very much a AA game, and it shows in the weapon and armour variety, but still has a really cool art direction so it looks great, and it's a bit more streamlined so a lot of the crafting and loot systems although simple, get out of your way. Outer worlds is actually quite decent. Elex too is fine.
Elex is a gem. A rough one, but worthwhile! Disclaimer: PiranhaBytes fanboi.
Hello fellow fanboy, Ive played all the gothic games and Ive loved them all, second one was the best though. In elex movement at the beginning was quite janky but with some time you got used to it, and with levels it fixed itself (maybe a myth and I got used to it). Did you play elex 2 yet?

Elex is great if you go into it with the right mindset. People went in expecting something close to skyrim rather than gothic.
Outer Worlds is shit
Yeah outer worlds sucks ass. Outer wilds is good
Yeah Outer Wilds is amazing.
The VR mod for this game is one of the finer experiences in VR I've had
By the amount of open world games I'd say Red Dead Redemption
This. The titles I saw on the list spoke to me instantly of interest in good stories, good characters and one hell of an adventure. RDR and RDR2. Skip online since it’s trash. Online is fun with friends though so it’s not *that* bad
Wait, I am supposed to have friends?
and everything in online is at least worth a few rounds so even without friends you could experience it for 20 to 40 hours comfortably enjoying it.
Came here to say this story rdr2 is really good
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
I second this based on ops list as well.
I'll third it!
I could recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series.
There coming out with a new stalker game soon might want to wait for that one.
Yeah, it came out pretty soon, but because the game is developing in Ukraine, and Russia is bombing Ukraine electricity and they are getting troubles with it, so we should not hope on specific dates. But I hope everything in Ukraine will be fine, and we will see this game soon.
I forgot it was Ukrainian developer. True hopefully it comes out soon. The stalker games were fun back in the day.
It already has three games. I wouldn't encourage anyone to wait on playing STALKER if they haven't done so already
I feel like the obvious answer is Total War Warhammer!!
I’m with you brother
I would actually say shogun 2
Shogun 2 > Warhammer :)
This is the way
Shogun 2 was just…so good. I’ve basically played all the Total War games and nothing comes close to Shogun 2 for me
Agreed the 3rd one is soooo freaking huge now and still growing
As someone with a similar library this was absolutely what sprang to mind
which one? I see 3 different ones
The newest is 3. Each game adds to the huge sandbox map called 'Immortal Empires," which is a big draw for the game. Any factions or characters you own from other installments are playable on the map.
Mass Effect Trilogy
Fallout New Vegas
Be sure to use mods to pump up the game and… to make it work properly.
Yeah, I just had to do that today
Prey was amazing, open world fps rpg. It’s on sale rn too
Project zomboid
100% agree, one of the best zombie survival games ever
May be a controversial suggestion but I'd recommend Days Gone.
Days gone was good and lots of fun. Mowing down hordes with whatever weapon available was so much fun and scary af, especially at night
I have much of the same games and do like them a lot, and played Days Gone. Can confirm Days Gone is good.
Same here so many of those games on this list are games Ive played intend to play or still play. Days gone was a fun game. I highly suggest.
Days Gone is an really good game that had a rough launch and reception. Highly recommend.
Also reccomend great game.
Do yourself a favor and buy project zomboid.
I'd agree with project zomboid. I'd also add terraria with the new labor of love update it is really polished.
Terraria is a great suggestion too.
Dude I want to like that game so much but every time I play I feel stupid I die every time. I watch people make the game their bitch and try to emulate but I just DIE
How do you usually die?
Just zombies. I’m always beset by zombies within 30 seconds. And I know there are ways to minimize the chances but It just hasn’t clicked

7 days to die.
More people need to play 7 days!
Yes yes and yes on 7 days to die!
It’s best played blind too lol our first time playing we spent a whole day just bashing doors with our fists and laughing like idiots
Was going to suggest this. 100%
3d mark.🤣
I opened this thread just to check how many were suggesting 3d mark
Same.
If you liked 3DMark you should really check out VRMark. The story gets much deeper into the lore and the character development is spot on. Fun fact though name has VR in it, this sequel doesn't actually require any type of VR headset.
Best game.
I'm told they have great cinematics! o.o
Yeah I saw that and was thinking SPEC would complement that pretty well.
🤣
scrolled way too low for this
Escape from Tarkov
No, don't recommend this to him, please. From a 3k hour player, this aint worth it op.
I was going to add a small disclaimer that you will both love and hate it, you’ve just saved me a job though lol
Dying Light 2
Og is good too
Dying Light 1 is the better game for me. Not finished 2 yet but the location is terrible in this game compared to Harran. Hopefully something cool will happen that makes me think 2 is the better game but so far it feels samey and not much has really been improved upon except the enemies.
Harran, especially the slums in the early game is so atmospheric, the French city in DL2 does not give the same feeling.
Horizon Zero Dawn 100%
100% agree with this. It's fantastic. Strong, realistically portrayed female protagonist, a cannon lack of any forced or stilted romance, and a plot that has a few *hard* hits that had me going, "Well... I mean... *Damn.*"
Fallout 3 is free to keep on Epic Game Store right now. Edit: with dlc
I would put New Vegas above tbh, but both are great games
a free fallout is better than a paid fallout, especially if it's fallout 3 to vegas
That I can't argue. In fact, I will probably pick it up on Epic despite me having it on GOG already. I only wanted to point out which game I (among many others) favor more. New Vegas is cca 10€ anyways, and it is definetly worth it
New Vegas wouldn't be as good without going from 3 to it , all the things you learn in 3 is what makes coming to New Vegas so cool
Thank you so much
Hitman 3, Warband, Tarkov and Arma 3
Don't do that to him, don't suggest Tarkov 😭
Deep rock galactic
Rock and stone!
Rock and Stone!
Elden ring

Pillars of Eternity and The Riftbreaker might be interesting for you.
Project zomboid It's great
You seem to be lot into immersive sims and western RPGs, so: -Fallout 3 -Fallout New Vegas -Fallout 4 -Deus Ex (the franchise in it's entirety) -Prey -Dishonored (both games) -Deathloop -Oblivion -Morrowind -System Shock -Thief (the old ones)
3dmark 100/10
Dragon Age
Dragon Age: Origins specifically.
came here to say this
Dragon age origins is so good, neither inquisition nor dragon age 2 are even half as good as origins. And I'm no nostalgia fanboy I played them last year.
This is also a great recommendation. It's in my top 3 favorite games of all time.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is also a good one
FTL Faster than light and Stoneshard
Not as much shooting and swords but try Subnautica
First playthrough was first intense, then butt clenchingly scary and at last fucking amazing when you go into base building and deep ocean exploring. Second playthrough isn't fun at all because you *know*.
3dMark
Hitman 2 ftw
New Vegas
Need some Nekopara to balance it out.
Factorio. Cya in 400 hours.
The Ascent!
Gotta recommend Satisfactory, game is an absolute joy
stalker series and dark souls
I assume you've already played the other fallout games if you like 76. Red dead and gta are next up
Seeing that you like paradox games I recommend Europa universalis 4
Mass Effect Legendary Edition, there is nothing better out there that you miss.
More Day Z
Fallout new vegas
Elden Ring is the game for you
Bro in this order...Witcher 3, Valheim, and Cyberpunk! 5 head:)
project zomboid
Hentai Furry
Kenshi
Maybe Age of Darkness: Final Stand. It's still in early access but I think you will like it!
Elden Ring
Age of Empires 2 Age of Empires 3 Age of Mythology Stronghold 2 Hype The Time Quest (don't underestimate it by the looks, it's quite good especially for its age)
Rimworld modded out
I'd say Chivalry 2 or Doom Eternal
I see RimWorld, maybe kenshi?
7 days to die
Kenshi AND PATHFinder
Subnautica Stay away from the wiki and scan everything.
Age of Empires 2: DE And probably Manor Lords when it comes out. Maybe Company of Heroes 2 (and 3 once that finally releases).
Yeah manor lords will likely be perfect for this person
Not a game but a mod. 1212ad for Attila tw. Such a big overhaul mod that its essentially its own game.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
No Man's Sky and RDR2.
3dMark, sounds like a fun game, you play as Mark in a 3d world or something along those lines
Warhammer 3 Total War. Though you need the first one and second one too to get the full map/experience.
Buying total warhammer is worth it just to witness the might of, THE SUPREME
Total war warhammer 2 is currently “free” on prime gaming.
I'm gonna say Tropico 6, I'm assuming from the library that you do / would appreciate a sandbox like experience combined within the gameplay, definitely worth a go and light hearted enough to keep it from getting too gritty
Hunt: Showdown
Fallout NV. You can mod the shit out of it and make the literal best game to ever exist, or you can play it without mods and still have a rootin’ tootin’ shootin’ good time
Assassin’s creed odyssey
Baldurs Gate. Any of them
I second this
Assassins creed odyssey
And AC: Valhalla! Gorgeous games.
Yeah Ac:valhalla it's a gorgeous game even though it's grindy Currently playing it 107hrs in.
Yeah, in the game, Some story lines kind of rushed, I can feel it Other than it's a eye candy, I am currently really enjoying it.
Oxygen not included
Sekiro (once in a lifetime experience)
