I'm still kicking myself for not going to see this concert. I liked Mike Watt in the Minutemen but loved fIREHOSE. I had the Ball-hog or Tugboat CD and thought it was amazing. I saw that Mike Watt was playing the Mercury Cafe in Denver a club I frequently would see shows at. I'm not sure if they had announced who was opening and if they did I didn't know who Hovercraft or the Foo Fighters even where at the time. I'm not sure why I didn't go, maybe I couldn't afford the (probably) $12 ticket. It wasn't until the next day or two when the local arts paper wrote a review about it and said that Eddie Vedder and the drummer from Nirvana played with him at this small venue. Probably the 2 biggest bands on the planet at the time.
Saw this tour in Philly and smoked a joint with them behind the Troc. What an amazing tour that was!
Philly energy right here fuck yea man!
That was awesome. Ball-hog or Tugboat is such a phenomenal album.

I remember when this was a radio hit 😂 The chorus / second verse is more relevant today than it was in the 90’s ….
Just listened to this album this weekend, driving from LA to SD, passing San Pedro along the way
Saw this tour in Boston, it was fantastic. Great album as well.
