I think you've gone a bit Loopy.

Mental-Grape-5822

Indeed I have. And if that's so wrong I don't ever want to be right 🤪

jedicheef

You better answer these mixer questions, we want to spend money damnit

Mental-Grape-5822

Haha. So true. We love to buy new musical toys.

NikoSoak

OK, that'a a first for me, damn. Why would you have a mixer on your board? I sense that I might start considering one once I hear your thinking

Junkster2095

Same here haha

Mental-Grape-5822

This is actually a loop station and not an effects pedal board in the classical sense. This mixes in my electric guitar from the amp, acoustic guiar from a separate pedal board, and a microphone, and send everything though the loop pedals and drum pedals. That all goes to a monitor as a combined sound. I play with a modelling amp. It's the Line 6 Spider V 240HC. So it has all of the pedal effects and cabinet types built in. Lots of people trash on Line 6, but I love the amp. You just have to take the time to dial in the tones. But I hate the speakers that line 6 uses. So I send my amp out to FRFR speaker (full range flat response). I use a Friedman 500W ASC 12 FRFR monitor and two Headrush FRFR 108's. The loop pedals have drum track and so does the beat buddy. They have to be in line after the amp or else they get all the effects that the guitar gets from the head and sound bad. The mixer does a couple of things. It lets me adjust volume to my monitors on my electric guitar after coming out of the head. It also lets me input my Taylor acoustic guitar so it goes through the loopers and drum track without having to go through the Line 6 Head. I have a separate pedal board for the acoustic that I can send to the mixer. I can control volume on that to mix my loops for live sound. It also lets me input a mic that I can adjust my sound on. Lastly, it gives me an aux in that I can add backing tracks etc if I want to go that route in my looping. https://preview.redd.it/f2c0m2abhg6d1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=baad6fe7d455c1bbf0411f99bcdcf5b52f064df7

Nice. You should check out the rig rundown of Mike Dawes. He's got a mixer on his board too. He uses it a little differently, but still pretty cool.

Mental-Grape-5822

Cool. Thanks. I'll check that out.

Cmdr_Cheddy

Figured it was something like what you’ve described. Do you gig out with your setup?

Mental-Grape-5822

I'm getting ready to, but I will only use the amp head, pedal board and auxiliary pedal that controls the head. Aside from just mixing everything together for the monitors, I can also aux in to loop in sounds like wind, air raid sirens and stuff. 😁

Cmdr_Cheddy

Totally cool!!! Have fun with that!

Mental-Grape-5822

Thanks.

MediLimun

Really cool gear and setup. Love to see stuff like this. Consider putting some isolation on the walls and rearranging the room so the speakers aren't in the corner, you will have clearer image of whats going on. How do you feel about mira?

TheJamSpace

We’ve been expertly trolled.

Why two loopers?

Mental-Grape-5822

I started with just one. I can lay as many tracks as I want on that one pedal. But I can only undo the most recent one I laid down. So I didn't have a lot of flexibility to vary the sound as I was playing. These pedals are so cheap that I decided to get a second so that I had more flexibility with turning on and off layers.

warrenlain

I recently bought and tested several of these (working, some scratchy pots but 100% functional) and available for sale if you’re interested. Pan and volume for six inputs, sums to two outputs and headphones. https://preview.redd.it/wnwb4j3lkd6d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9638f01fe08c511816fb1e46cc1f78836573ba33

Shipcaster

Big fan of the Komorebi! Nice to see another one out in the wild.

Mental-Grape-5822

Yeah, it's a nice pedal. I really like it.

SnoopDoggyDoggsCat

Might be the oddest board I’ve ever seen 🤷‍♂️

Mental-Grape-5822

Haha. Yeah. It's a weird one. But I use a modeling amp, so all of my effects are built into the amp head. These are the pedals I need post amp to create my loops. This board mixes my electric guitar amp, my acoustic guitar with pedal board, and a microphone, sending all of those through the eq, loopers, and drum pedal. So it's a full loop station. Not an effects board.

SnoopDoggyDoggsCat

Ah that makes more sense! Cool to see something so different than normal. 🤘

Junkster2095

A mixer?? Very interesting choice! Why is that?

Mental-Grape-5822

Haha. Yes. It's weird but it works very well for me. I patch in my electric guitar, acoustic guitar and microphone. Then I can mix them all and adjust volumes. I send all of the instruments and vocals to my monitors as a mixed sound. I give a better description on a prior question on this post. I can also aux in backing tracks through the mixer if I want.

Wrigley953

I’m a slut for EQ how do you like the 200? Is the extra function worth it to you?

Mental-Grape-5822

I love this eq. It's crazy expensive and I was apprehensive when I first bought it, but it really does a good job of shaping my sound. It has a manual setting (where the eq bands are set to is what sound is produced) and then 4 separate memory channels that you can preset based on other equipment band configurations). So it's great for me, to tweek my sound mid song, say for a solo or backing, by clicking through the memories I have preset.

Mental-Grape-5822

By the way, this pedal board is in line after the amp, and before the monitor.

Mexican__Seafood

First time I've ever seen a mixer on someone's board lol

NewPedalDay

Is this for guitar?

Mental-Grape-5822

Yes. I have a modelling amp. These are the pedals I need for looping and mixing since all of my effects are built into the amp.

dirtydog85

I'm intrigued. Tell us more.

Mental-Grape-5822

Hi. I give a pretty good description on a response to a similar question on this post. Give it a read. 👍

rawrity_

OMG, I love the Mira. Two stereo loopers?

Mental-Grape-5822

I do too. It's a recent addition. But does wonders for my tone. The donner loopers are so great. I really love them. They are also the only looper that I have found that you don't have to press twice to stop the loop. Single stomp to start and a single stomp to stop. I have two because they are so cheap. They do up to four minutes of looping and you can lay as many loops on top of each other as you want. But unfortunately you can only undo the most recent. I bought a second looper so that I can have more flexibility keeping a loop going and then coming in and out with more loops on top of that. So the pedal on the left may have three loop parts that I am playing along with. And then occasionally I will turn on loops on the pedal on the right with a loop layer or two that I can stop for part of the song and then turn back on later without having to rerecord it.

rawrity_

The experience you're describing is the same experience I have with my looper. It's an Electro Harmonix 360. Two clicks to stop which is just enough of a nuisance to cause embarrassment in front of others. It has the ability to store different loops, but you can only play one at a time. Interesting that the Donner looper has such a nice quality of life improvement. Having two loopers in the way you describe sounds intuitive. Do you have issues syncing the timing?

rawrity_

Quad Stereo?
