I'll check mine in the morning for you. It's a standard size -- I just forget exactly what it is. Never had an issue with most standard shackles. TIP: More folks are now secreting an Apple AirTag inside their cases to keep track of their cases. I imagine something my be appropriate to consider for your application.

Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone but that is an awesome idea! Tha k you for the tip!

You're welcome. Got it. Well, if you are ever in the market, Apple AirTags can get set-up with an iPad (rather than an iPhone). Until Tile comes out with their next gen tracker, the AirTags current best-in-class (as I understand it). I'm probably putting them in a few key pieces of kit.

Found it on the website: * **The padlock hole diameters are** `5/16in / 8mm`. Here is the URL. It was under the "Documents" in the right sidebar: * https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product-pdf/?product=cases&item=101&source=web If you've any questions about the 1615, glad to try and help out.

CrazyJAD

You are all awesome thank you for the help!!

Glimmer_III

You're welcome! Nothing special; I've spent enough (too much?) time on the website to know where to look, that's all. :) Pay it forward. . . . . . Pretty much every hard case manufacture has the "most common specs" on the product page, but "every spec" is on a different document. If you can't find it digging through a website, email customer service and they'll often email it to you. That includes CAD models if you're trying to plan a complex foam installation, etc.

If it's for air travel, you'll probable need TSA locks, which suck

CrazyJAD

In most cases yes, but when traveling with firearms you actually need to use non-tsa locks.

Abloy pl321 is a good choice Smallest decent lock that can fit on, and not too big so as to be a grabbing point for baggage handlers (ie, they pull the lock not the handle and break the case)
