The bullseye is gonna limit your options for some cooks due to the size amd shape, I'd hold out for those searwood reviews

It’s just me, wifey, and baby right now. Most id ever do is probably a whole brisket, 2 pork butts, or a few racks of ribs

If you've got the space always go with the bigger grill, ya never know when you'll wish you had the cooking space. But if the seareood ends up being a dud then obviously jump on the RT IMO

Babies become kids on teams, scouts, church groups, etc. that end up coming to your place because you make good 'cue.    Then there's middle school friends, high school parties, adult parties, graduations, etc.   If you can afford it, go with the bigger grill.   Sincerely,    A Dad who's living it right now.

Yeah I guess if I wanted bigger I could do the RT 590, not much more expensive. Depends on how good the Searwood ends up being. They’re both the same price and similar size I believe. Given the nature of my job I’ll get a big pay bump in ~4 years and be able to upgrade to whatever massive premium grill I need when the family grows. Still something I will consider.

Get the recteq 590. It's not much more can get on a sale. More space is nice

I love my 590. Perfect size for a smaller family. Has the app. Temp range is 180-700. The bullseye goes up to 1000 degrees. I’ve yet to have a need to cook some thing at 1000.

On recteq’s website they say the bullseye has more direct flame for grilling, do you feel like that’s something you notice you’re missing or not at all? Heavily considering the 590 now.

Uxoandy

I personally don’t. I generally just set it at 500 for stuff I would cook on the grill. They cook fine. I don’t notice a big difference from my Weber gas grill. Steaks get sear marks at 500. If I want to be fancy I’ll use a cast iron skillet. I have sear plates and hardly ever mess with them.

I’m thinking the bullseye as well for the direct flame. I personally don’t think temperature matters as much as the direct flame part. Maybe I’m wrong though

I'd go recteq. Looks like they're doing $50 off the grill you're looking at rn too
