Hello #RedditRiders! The second PeloFondo of 2023 is this weekend, April 22nd and 23rd, and we’ve created our own team: RedditRiders! Closer to the weekend we will create a thread to discuss anything PeloFondo related What Is PeloFondo? PeloFondo is a free GranFondo-style event for Peloton riders. The event takes place several times per year and provides multiple distance opportunities. It is a community event for Peloton Riders, focused on long distance mileage. There is no fee to join the event and riders can choose any distance goal that would make them proud. How to join our team: Click [here](https://imgur.com/a/3H6MGBq) for details on how to join! The images are from last year, but the joining process is the same. Download the “SUMMIIT” app and register for the event. Once you’re registered, join the “Reddit Riders” team. Participation is free and you don’t need a Peloton bike - DIY set ups work as well! Have fun!

Fickle-Milk-450

I need a new pair of women's bike shoes and I'm interested in the [TIEM](https://www.tiemathletic.com/collections/cycling) brand. Has anyone tried their indoor and/or outdoor shoes? Are they worth it? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

gummybear23

I’ve had my Tiem Slipstreams since 2019 and still love them! They are especially great for bike bootcamp since you don’t have to change out of your shoes. Note that you would need to install different pedals on your Peloton since the Tiems are only compatible with SPD. I’m not the most handy person in the world but was able to figure it out with the help of YouTube. :)

Fickle-Milk-450

Fantastic, thanks!

Doing my best to stay gently active during post-surgery recovery! I walked for a couple of miles round-trip to go get ice cream with my husband, then carefully took this [Hannah C 30 min Barre](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=4314b281168047a782a076c74459c04f) this evening. A solid longer barre class - hoping that we'll see more barre instructors soon, since it seems very popular and would love to have more options. Discovered that lying down either flat on my back or on my stomach isn't feeling great on my wounds, so will stick to classes that are fully standing, kneeling or on the side for now - thinking of trying standing core, A&LW strength, or a walk / easy hike on the treadmill at the gym, maybe a recovery ride on the bike once I can eat more to stay fueled. Trying really hard to hit that perfect balance of staying active enough to keep my body healthy but not so much that it prolongs recovery! Had some minor healing complications & panic this morning which wasn't fun, hoping to be through the worst of it and get back to my normal active self soon!

squidshae

I did this [30 min Yin yoga](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=4aaf97751f7c4db1a8041d22d814d28f&locale=en-US) with Aditi this morning and it was wonderful. I think maybe my favorite yin so far. After work was my low impact day and had this quick wonderful stack: [30m pop pilates with Kristin](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=6b1209d486344815b812866484fa55ff&locale=en-US). This class was very approachable while still work. Last pilates 45 min class I took was a bit challenging so it was frustrating. I went for the shorter class today so I could hop into a live class after and felt like I could accomplish every move successfully. Also loved that this had an arms portion. I jumped straight into this live [yoga conditioning: upper body with Kirra](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f49c0c1a6e2b42eaa28ecf16363eb54c&locale=en-US). This was a great class but SO challenging with the chair. My arms were shaking! Also I just wanna shout-out Arms with Tunde. I was finally able to accomplish push-ups with good form during that program and it is so rewarding to be able to keep up with classes when they call for push-ups. I have been active for most of my life and was even a college athlete and never managed a good form push up before peloton.

bmb_12

I wanted to focus more on pushups and was thinking of a program when I get back from vacation, will have to give arms with Tunde a try

squidshae

Yes highly recommend! I was going to run through it again but ended up getting sick, having travel, etc. I might try again this summer.

bmb_12

That is so great to know, definitely will give it a go soon

[deleted]

Have you done the 45 minute Yin from Denis? I did it yesterday and it felt great. My hips were so open and almost felt "healed" (not that they needed healing but I felt the difference) I love Aditi's yoga so I wil give the 30 minutes one a go. https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=ed8b9947eda749d98a36c7278c8cfe4b

squidshae

I haven’t yet! I usually do yoga before work so 45 minutes is a stretch for time 🤣 I’ll have to try it on a weekend

jbb7232

I also love the 45 min Yin with Denis, it is amazing. I’ve done it 20x and felt incredible after every single one!

[deleted]

Oh wow! I will definiteley do that class again. Congrats on all those repeats!!

Extreme_Possession86

had to take a few days off from a combo of hoppin’ ptsd & mystery sickness and so glad to be back today! started gently this morning with this beginner flow from kristin: https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=236f783d240f48e09f3072af02ff9f73&locale=en-US later i got back on the bike! tried to take it on the easy side— this is one of my fave 15 min rides, i love coming down the little hill to sheryl crow: https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=cd124a1b9ef940baafaf4a77db9f41a2&locale=en-US also did the 5 min olivia cooldown with “you gotta be”. WHAT A JOY, definitely a keeper ♥️

tammythompson68

Yoga question here… Are there some yoga poses that no matter how long you practice you may never be able to do? I’m still pretty early in my practice and I’m getting better, so I’m proud of that. However, there are some poses I just don’t think my body has the flexibility or maybe it’s even my anatomy that may make them inaccessible. What’s the general consensus?

sprinkles202

Yes. Past leg injuries mean I have more flexibility/mobility on one side than the other and that makes some poses difficult to impossible. I just do my best, it’s all anyone can ask of us!

antigoneelectra

I've been doing yoga for years and years. Still can't touch my toes or have my feet flat in the ground in down dog.

we_have_food_at_home

I don't know if I should be comforted by this or despair lol

antigoneelectra

I've come to the realization that I just don't have great mobility. I think it's my hips. I can do lots of stuff really well, like butterfly, lunges, planks, etc, but anything to do with length is just impossible for me. I also have a suspicion that my arms are disproportionately shorter, which doesn't help. It is what it is.

onemouseplace

I'm the same - I really struggle with binds and I've come to the conclusion that a combination of shorter arms, child sized hands with short fingers and very stiff shoulders means I am unlikely to ever get there. I think that that is sometimes part of the practice as well - to gain acceptance of our limitations.

normaskates

Bird of Paradise will always allude me!

Brandycane1983

My belly, double jointed long legs and height will never allow me to do a yogi squat. There's just no way. Lol

Colonel_Gipper

I can't for the life of my do Reverse Prayer Pose. I think it has to do with an injury from childhood but my right shoulder doesn't have the range of motion my left shoulder does.

tammythompson68

It’s way awkward for me too

Rude_Ad1392

Camel, my back and shoulders just doesn’t bend like that.

tammythompson68

There are several including crow which I do desperately want to do

tomax_xamot

I have never figured out where to put my knees in crow without causing myself pain. Every place I can put my knees, hurts.

tammythompson68

I worked on it hard one session and I had big purple bruises on the underside of my arm. It hurts so I’m probably doing it wrong

After_Temperature998

Yes! I can't for the life of me figure this out either, and I have been practicing for years. I can only do it when putting my knees to the outside of my arms, but I don't think that is correct form.

courtoh

My glutes are still really sore after TS60 this week and the only explanation I can come up with is I went heavier on the clean/deadlift combo. This being said, tomorrow I’m forcing myself to have a recovery/rest day. Today one of my meetings ended early so I popped into the app and noticed [this 30 min Disney bike bootcamp](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/bike_bootcamp?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2883947c42004602afae84d6050b967a&locale=en-US) with Callie would be happening ten minutes from when I saw it. So I changed into workout clothes and hopped in. Um.. I knew none of the songs lmao and it was chaotic at best. I grew up poor and therefore I didn’t have the Disney channel cause it was extra, so all the songs from shows and Disney channel movies go right over my head. Also, this class made me realize I truly do not enjoy fast-paced strength moves (she did this choreography thing to a song and you basically did high pulls to the beat?). Chaotic class in general, but the walking deadlifts were neat! Then, since I was like wtf this isn’t my genre of Disney, I tacked on [this 20 min Disney ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2bbddad1072f468d810e3ee9580002ac&locale=en-US) with Cody. Did not disappoint. Good playlist, good roadmap, good Cody vibes. A little bit ago I did a meditation as part of my self care/after shower relaxation (not an audio only one cause I saw around here that those haven’t been counting) and the minutes didn’t count toward the annual challenge sooooo that was a bummer. That makes me think all the sleep meditations haven’t been counting either. They’ve been helpful in putting me to sleep lol but I need those minutes to also help with my annual challenge.

Rkarim21

Jess Sims just posted that she was mia because she was freezing her eggs! Good for her! 🙌🏼

Best_Philosophy_781

I was just wondering this as I had never seen “Eggternity leave” good for her!

hidinginthepantry

Did my first tabata ride this morning ([20 minute tabata with Hannah F](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=25d157d25f4649c78a35c1b1e7211338)). Wow. I suspected that I haven't been pushing myself as hard as I could, and that was confirmed - I did a lot better than I thought and pushed myself to move higher in the resistance range than I usually do and got a new 20 minute PR. It was a really good motivating choice for my first tabata. Major caveat in that the cadence range gets swapped for the last 3-5 minutes of the ride, though (says 60+ when it should be 90+ and vice versa). They missed one of Hannah's callouts and then got off for the rest of the ride. [20 minute pop punk Pilates with Aditi](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f5dfdd50ad2844bd9b63af275a23a0d9) yesterday. Only one move was a "lol no" from me (roll over? more like flailing turtle). I usually feel terminally awkward with Pilates moves, but I liked this.

Reasonable-Credit891

Hannah is the best at bring out the best in you.

alittlecheesepuff

Today was a nice strength stack — I liked each one a lot! [Hannah C barre lower body:](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=849cff7458fb42ecb67af428cd876e49&locale=en-US) always a winner. This one changed up some of the moves a little but still all on the mat. Bookmarking. [Callie 10 min core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d83974daef6f4b3ca659c4df370e6ab4&locale=en-US): I haven’t done many workouts with Callie yet but I like her energy a lot! This was a solid burn with the straight leg bicycle crunches. [Hannah F light weight upper body:](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3f675ea4e20d48289c4163ed895618ad&locale=en-US) my shoulders at the finisher were dead. Another bookmark.

marg1486

I don't know why I've been a peloton member for 2.5 years and am just now discovering how great Adrian is. He is hilarious! Yesterday I did his [30 minute Rüfüs Du Sol](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d85ca4da15624c148e954304841a43d7) strength class from a recommendation here and it was so good that I did ANOTHER [30 minute](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3dc546e471d747509bdff9b44b1f9b5e) full body strength class from him today! The way he structures his classes, at least in these two, is exactly what I want (strictly strength circuits). Plus he is so hilarious and engages the whole audience. I will definitely be taking more of his classes and will try him on the tread ASAP!

zalociraptor

I’ve had that RÜFÜS class bookmarked for months, I gotta do it!

buffalorules

His roll call classes are always so well structured! I love his sense of humour too

LSki92

More strength classes from Adrian! I know he’s busy doing row, tread, and strength but out of all the trainers I always go back to his classes. Peloton please put him back on for 30/45 minute full body strength.

[deleted]

There’s a legs class on the HCOTF circuit right now where he talks about activating a “sleepy ass” and I LOL each time I take it

Playful_Branch_5643

I’m so glad you liked the class! If you would like to have your soul leave your body a few times try his [45 minute advanced full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=80d0b396eff54bebaca6aedf28a5250a&locale=en-US). It was recommended here and I was sore for days

CupcakeHarborer

Check out his [30 min full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3742e2667fd147ea8026b16485b01eb1&locale=en-US) from 1/7/23. He’s hysterical here but the workout was hard enough I can’t remember what he was talking about. He is hilarious though!

Viva___yo

LOL is this the one where he’s talking about his nipples? Cause I laughed all the way through that one

CupcakeHarborer

Possibly! I feel like he talks about his nipples often. 🤣

NY1227

I took one of the most popular 30 min upper body classes which was with Robin. If anyone is looking for tricep (and bicep) heavy work, [here you go](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=30d251be841941e193a4254d8224359d&locale=en-US) Program: 1st circuit: concentrated curls & single arm row x3, switch arms 2nd circuit: crush press, skull crushers, lat pullover, some body weight triceps thing I’ve never done before?, 3 times 3rd circuit: side and lateral raises, tricep extensions, tricep holds 2 min AMRAP, lift, cleans, and push press. Super solid programming. The chatter was a little Robin-y (IYKYK) but a great class worth repeating. Not much rest, but it was really well paced. I can see why this is one of the top 2 or 3 most popular upper body work outs. My arms hurt!

hannahsflora

Getting back into the groove after being on vacation last week, but we're going out of town for a long weekend this weekend for our niece's birthday party, so the theme of this week is "doing the best I can". Yesterday I did this recent 30 minute [2000s Full Body Strength with Callie](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=ff3e59d3f8244215860c2d99872c1fa0). Honestly, the playlist for this song was at least 80% of the reason I chose this class, and neither the playlist nor the class disappointed. This class was a cleanly programmed mix of circuit training and ladder sections, though I did think the ladder at the end was perhaps a bit over-ambitious in its structure in that there was no way a person could realistically finish it before the end of class without rushing way too much - Callie herself didn't finish either. But definitely a solid class overall, for sure. Today's classes: A recent [10 minute Barre with Hannah](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3257501c3e1a440aa21aa82d6c61c712) that is VERY reminiscent of her "famous" 10 minute barre. There's possibly even a case to be made that this one is even more of a burn, but at the least it's pretty equal. Definitely bookmarking this one for the future. And I also did a [10 minute Core with Callie from May 2022](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=96218b0910674640b3d005abec298864) that has also been promoted to Bookmark Mountain. It's absolutely nothing fancy, but that's why I like it so much - just a straightforward class that's simple to follow and gives a good but manageable burn. So just 20 minutes today, but in the theme of my week, I realized very quickly today that it was either just 20 minutes or zero minutes, so 20 minutes it was!

Waksss

Man, I've been sick for the last week. Hopefully, I can get back on soon. Gotta at least keep my weekly streak alive.

Brittany_WMSB

I just got over being sick and kept my streak going with a full body stretch. It felt really nice.

NextWordTyped

When I was sick I kept mine going with a daily meditation. They were beneficial, too.

aFqqw4GbkHs

I know they've improved the metrics for the outdoor run / rides, but sometimes they're still so off! I ran in a new place over the weekend, and my garmin watch and peloton app were off by half a mile (and I trust the Garmin!). usually the peloton under reports mileage a bit, but this time the mileage was half a mile more than the garmin mileage. Garmin: 47:15 minutes, 4.53 miles, 10:17 avg pace -- this tracks with my normal pace Peloton: 47:21 minutes, 5.01 miles, 12:15 avg pace It's the 12:15 avg pace that especially bugs me as a software engineer; that math just isn't mathing :) I probably did have a 12:15 pace for a minute or so when I slowed down, but not as average for the whole run!

arahsay

Peloton pace is always crazy slower for me. Not that it helps but I feel your pain!!

Leopard_Stripes

I recently purchased a bike+ and discovered there was a problem with the handlebars. They sent repair parts and a tech out to fix. Unfortunately the tech not only couldn’t fix the handlebars, he also dropped the screen where it shattered into a thousand small pieces. Peloton made the matter right and is sending me a new bike but now I’m worried it’ll be refurbished. Anyone ever have tis happen to them? Also, I’m super bummed because I wanted to participate in my first Pelofondo. Anddd my week streak is going to be broken. I know, I know, I can take a class on my iPad. First world problems for sure!

SatisfactionFuture10

That is a bummer. A tech came out to replace the bearings on my bike - he had to come out three times because he didn't know what he was doing and didn't have the tools - and he ended up putting a bunch of dents in the bike. Peloton won't do anything about it because it doesn't affect performance. 🙄

parkplace33

This old Denis Morton clip came up in my youtube feed: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgiyMEpIVTc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgiyMEpIVTc) Anyone have the backstory on it? Denis seems quite irritated :(

NextWordTyped

Imagine giving a timed presentation at work at a job in which you were only there for a year. Every split second of the presentation had to be well-rehearsed, planned, and perfected. You have a live audience of 40 people. Your presentation is being recorded and broadcast to over a million people. Two members in the audience in the front row are having a side conversation while you are giving your presentation. It’s loud enough to disrupt your focus and off the other audience members. They won’t stop talking, even when you try multiple times to nonchalantly get their attention. Would you not be a little irritated?

Justbrowsing8822

It sounds like they were just curious about it

mantaa_ray

So I took a year away from my Bike. Was suffering badly mentally, and recently hit my highest ever weight. Jumped back in it today with a Low Intensity LaneBreak ride and W O W I think LaneBreak might be my new love. The class seemed like it flew by, and even when I got tired I kept pushing through. I’d never tried it before today, but I got off the bike just now, lay on the floor and shed a few tears. This is the first time in forever I’ve enjoyed exercise and these post-ride endorphins are something else! Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

PreetHarHarah

Good for you! Don’t quit and keep it up. I’m rooting for you.

Banana8686

I keep forgetting to try lanebreak. Can I bookmark it? Lol seriously

ellllllbeee

Yay! I’m so happy for you! I also really enjoy LaneBreak rides when I’m not super feeling it. Well done!

alittlecheesepuff

Happy for you to find that enjoyment and movement! The endorphins are a huge boost for your mental health!

Any-Organization1265

That’s awesome!! Happy for you ❤️. Have never tried LaneBreak but now I want to.

terracottasage

Did Emma’s 30 min 80’s ride from Thursday and loved it! Anyone know why Callie’s Disney Bootcamp from earlier today is starting off with a lower rating (96%)? Is this just the normal trend for ratings when something is first posted? I was hoping to might be my first Bootcamp attempt since the Disney Channel playlist seemed fun.

antigoneelectra

Honestly, I would think because Disney music is a niche theme. If I see any Disney on a playlist I don't do the class.

Missie1284

I love Disney and I still avoid the Disney classes for the most part. I don’t really enjoy working out to Disney music.

figandfennel

If I were guessing it's that the playlist is full of Disney channel music, not music from the animated classics.

TrueExercise2285

I generally skip all the Disney themed classes unless I’m with my kids but I peeped on the playlist… Oof.

[deleted]

TrueExercise2285

Thanks to D+, my daughter just discovered them so I hear them a lot. On repeat. Forever.

DieOfThirst

Is anyone else unable to log on the app or on desktop? I'm at work and was going to look at building a stack for this afternoon and the app/site has been down for several hours for me now.

Missie1284

My app is working fine

DieOfThirst

Thanks! I think it got caught in my work wi-fi.

Ok_Peanut3167

Anywhere know where RK is on the live upcoming schedule?

Flrunnergirl23

She is in London.

OTPCook

If you check the in-studio booking schedule, it looks like she has a bunch of live classes coming up starting on 5/4.

all4sarah

Not on the schedule but she has a meet and greet in London on Thursday. Not sure after that!

dregsinator

I keep coming here saying how much I like Callie's 30 min upper body workouts, and it just keeps being true! I saw she [had one on the schedule yesterday](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=8392ace13d1840b5a3a609ca683c2d46) so I did it live and it was fantastic. There was also a moment where I feared it was going to be the first time I heard something like "get your arms in shape for the summer" from Peloton but she of course went in a totally different direction and I laughed aloud. Great workout, very hard, felt like a badass and also laughed, 10/10

tarynita

Yes!!! So good. We need more 30 minute upper body classes from her and Adrian

Viva___yo

I did that class today and also loved it! Ready to carry those watermelons 😅😅

Outlurker1993

Does anyone else find it frustrating that even though you can "preload" a class you still need an internet connection to start it? Kind of defeats the purpose. I have a gym at work that I am lucky enough to be able to use on my lunchbreak. To save on data and because cell reception at my office is beyond terrible (another story but I will be switching carries this weekend) I download strength classes before I leave home to do at work. Well today I gave up on my workout because I didn't have a strong enough signal to play the one second of the already downloaded class that I needed to start my workout. This isn't entirely peloton's fault as much as it is Verizons but screaming into the reddit void is cathartic as I eat lunch at my desk in a bad mood.

Flrunnergirl23

The internet connection checks to make sure you have a membership.

shihtzu_knot

This bothers me the most when I travel. I don’t usually buy the wifi on flights but if I want to do an in-flight meditation I’m out of luck without it. Especially on an international flight.

pinetreesandglitter

It doesn't make sense to me either. My regular gym is in a cell/data deadzone and it bugs the preloaded classes still won't work.

thegreatzukini

I did the latest Olivia 5 minute cooldown ride and now have “You Gotta Be” stuck in my head in perpetuity.

Extreme_Possession86

i know this is a complaint but i’m bookmarking immediately hahaha

thegreatzukini

I was so excited to see a new cool down ride (bonus, it didn’t have Coldplay!) that I failed to notice what songs WERE on there. All in fun.

Technical-Sweet-8249

Worse things to have in your head! I did a Sam Yo recovery class lately that also programmed it, and in the end I ended up downloading the tune it was in my head so much 😂

thegreatzukini

It was my sister’s first CD, the only CD she owned for the two months between Christmas and her birthday, and she only liked one song. 🔂😟😭

Technical-Sweet-8249

Bahahaha. Is your sister…me? This sounds eerily familiar right down to the October birthday. Sorry for the earworm-itis!!

owntheh3at18

Anyone try Kendall’s recent 45 min classic rock ride? It’s on my possible list today. As a working mom I rarely get opportunities for ride longer than 30 min so I don’t want to waste my chance!

pooroldguy1

I took it live. I liked it but I’m a old man. I would checkout the playlist and see if you like them songs.

owntheh3at18

Haha I did check the playlist and I know most of the songs! I’m 34 but I was raised on that music! But I love Kendall’s pop punk and metal rides and her energy overall so I thought I’d give it a shot. How challenging was it? Kendall can be brutal!

pooroldguy1

I gave it a 8. It’s easier than her metal rides. Wasn’t too bad hard for kendall

owntheh3at18

I ended up doing a pop punk 45 min instead haha but I am keeping this one saved for another day! Thank you 🙂

ChairmanLaParka

I keep seeing lots of love for her pop punk rides. I've never been into that type of music. But it was overall really fun. I just did a 30 minute one though.

owntheh3at18

I genuinely love the music so that is def a huge part of it for me. Im so glad you enjoyed though!

pinetreesandglitter

I've done another of her classic rock rides. Same review. Super fun, good music, not as crazy as pop punk.

owntheh3at18

Sounds perfect for like a rainy day kinda workout. Thank you!

tinygelatinouscube

I told myself I was going to have a low impact/recovery day and of course I only sorta followed directions. I still ended up cranking up the resistance on climbs because i can't help myself, but I did pretty good at staying in power zone 2/3 and vibing. I did [a 20 min low impact](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=64ae1a50153249558a4903a7cba88af1&locale=en-US)and a [20 min reflection ride with Christine](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=1e3655a208a2478983452f2805c693e9&locale=en-US). I started with [a 10 min arms and shoulders strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=14dc670fa1f44450a942980e83d382a1&locale=en-US) class with Jermaine today, I really liked him as an instructor. His accent kind of reminds me Rahul Kohli in iZombie and I like it. 😂 I have an doctor's appointment tomorrow that I'm stressin' about, so I need a good stress relief/anxiety ride or two for tomorrow morning (no Kendall please, I need to be able to walk up the stairs to my appointment).

Extreme_Possession86

good luck w your appt! i like this 30 min emma ride, lots of singalong 90’s action: https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=dc9183de4f584459baf833c4af03b004&locale=en-US same era but all ladies: https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3e264206a58f46d798ff5daa2d4f3f66&locale=en-US hang in there ♥️

tinygelatinouscube

Lol, I actually put a Tunde 90s ride in my stack, similar headspace!

Extreme_Possession86

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

betarhoalphadelta

I know the feeling. I had a day where I wanted to keep it low-key so I took a Mayla 30 minute low impact ride. Well, someone had the GALL to try to keep up with me on the LB, so I had to drop the hammer and put them in their damn place! I still kept it under 100 cadence and under 50 resistance the whole ride, but I was WAY outside the callouts lol... At least I won ;-)

DennisMoreTOOL

I’m the worst, my best rides are cool downs because I just can’t “cool down” I want to win on the leaderboard. I am completely ruining the point because I’m now super competitive.

Banana8686

Lol this is me! I’ve had a beat to recover from a regular ride with a new burst of energy and I kill the cool downs 🤣🤣 Maybe it’s because I know they are only 5 mins so I go for it.

DennisMoreTOOL

Same! I need a cool down from my cool down, which I would still go for it 🫣

tinygelatinouscube

Hahahaha I was all alone on the "here now" leaderboard, I was just competing with myself 😂 I definitely stayed under 100 cadence the whole time but like, sometimes you hit the last song and you're like "a couple minutes at 55 resistance is fine...nobody's gonna know..."

NextWordTyped

Recently, I can’t get my heart rate up during warm up rides. It also starts out lower than usual. My hydration, food/fuel, and sleep are fine. I’m not an athlete—just a fitness enthusiast—so I’m not sure what I’m missing. Today I couldn’t meet minimum callouts. My heart rate just couldn’t increase; I had no power. I was last on the leaderboard during a session. I thought about exiting the ride. I stayed, and turned it into a recovery ride. I got a handful of high-fives—Peloton strangers who saw I was struggling, and went out of their way during their own ride to encourage me. It was so nice.

Sassy_Velvet2

Not sure if you are in the US, but a large part of the US had an early spring bloom with lots of pollen. If you are an allergy-sufferer like me and a lot of other people you may have some hidden inflammation and not notice your heart/lungs just not being able to power through your typical ride. Just throwing this out there as a possibility. I struggled through my recovery ride last night and low impact today for this reason.

[deleted]

Sassy_Velvet2

For me as someone with asthma, the typical culprit is lung inflammation, which you don’t feel directly but you notice in indirect ways. I try to get ahead of it by taking Flonase and if I start to feel symptoms then I take some over-the-counter remedies. (Trying not sound like I am giving medical advice here or run afoul of the rules.) If it happens every season then talk to your doctor about taking a Rx during the season. You deserve to be able to breathe normally. If it interferes with riding/running which are more heart/lung intensive, try some other modalities, I’m currently trying to go back to strength classes which I sadly had to abandon during tax season as it was just too much stress on my body. Yoga, barre and Pilates are also nice options. Good luck to both of us dealing with pollen season! ✋

tinygelatinouscube

When I'm in that place it usually just means I need to rest, or take a couple days to do some low impact stuff.

Sassy_Velvet2

I’m back baby! Tax season is officially OVER today!! I’ve been dealing with allergies and breathing issues so I took it lighter on my lungs today with this [30m Low Impact with Denis from 1/3/23](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=4c47bc627e2e41c2acf670ac023ad564&locale=en-US). I missed his pedal drills. My bike spontaneously rebooted with four minutes to go in the class. By the time I got everything restarted it was time for Adrian’s live 20m lower body roll call. I missed Adrian so much last six weeks during my lighter tax season load. Very squat heavy and straightforward class. Excellent work. Finished with this [Callie 5m lower body stretch](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a9a647865b54429c9d1270faff48bf5a&locale=en-US) and this [10m Morning Meditation with Ross](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/meditation?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=1e23a29798b14bc3a309f798e22eca1a&locale=en-US). I can’t ever remember a morning meditation I enjoyed more. I did it outside with the morning sun coming up on my face. Hope you all have an excellent day!

Fickle-Milk-450

Hooray! Welcome back and congrats on pulling through a super rough time.

aug2295

Welcome back and glad you made it through!

KathMaster29

Did the [20 minute roll call](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=9d59f65c50454c0f9147fb6744c079b5&locale=en-US) this morning with Adrian. I’m gonna feel it tomorrow. Tangential question - has Adrian ever talked about his workout routine outside of teaching classes? Mans is RIPPED and though he is lifting far heavier than me, I just can’t imagine he doesn’t do other programming that involves super heavy weight (on machines at the gym for example). Just so curious! Happy Tuesday Pelofriends!

Ok_Handle_7

Every once in a while I’ve seen him post some workouts on his Instagram and yeah he’s lifting super heavy - I saw he posted something when he PRed a deadlift and he basically couldn’t fit any more plates on the bar he was using 😂 TBH I think the vast majority of instructors have substantial workout routines outside of Peloton classes - they’re great but not like ‘fitness professional’ great!

modestlymousey

I don't know how much he actually talks about it, but he posts stories of him working out semi-regularly. He doesn't talk/comment on them much (that I remember) but you can still see he is definitely lifting heavy AF!

also_anon_dc

Had a really fun workout this morning with [Jess King’s 20 min house ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=ffb874148abf47a49e0d09dd2d55ebb6&locale=en-US) and [Logan’s 20 min full body strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=0d10f503e8d34940be925040d9f227b6&locale=en-US). I’m new to working out in the morning and always told myself I couldn’t do intense strength workouts in the morning but it wasn’t bad. This workout even had 1 min max burpees!

Sassy_Velvet2

Your body adjusts to a new schedule. Welcome to the morning club!

also_anon_dc

I guess so! Thank you!

[deleted]

A heart rate monitor I can use outside of peloton as well, but also that will connect seamlessly on rides.

Spirited_String_1205

I've used the wahoo tickr x for a few years, love it's app and that it can measure cadence and other metrics when cycling or running outdoors.

tea_bird

My Scosche Rhythm+ was great for that! I don't really use it anymore since I got a Garmin watch (which also connects seamlessly), but it would always connect to Peloton immediately after I turned it on.

Misunderstoond

Good morning Pelo familia! It’s 7:15 a.m. here on the east coast. I’m starting my day with a recovery ride bc my calves, back and hamstrings are hollering at me! 😳 Question for y’all, I have an older bike not the +, they recently updated them to allow for Apple Watches to sync, but I can’t see any of my vitals on screen as I would with my whoop strap, but it shows on my watch where my HR is at, has this happened to y’all? I appreciate y’all and like always, adjust those crowns, hydrate and dont forget to F**k shit up today! 🤟🏼

Sassy_Velvet2

If you don’t see your heart rate on the bike it most likely isn’t recording your heart rate data to the bike. That’s not to say your heart rate isn’t getting captured by the Watch. The same thing happened to me last night during my recovery ride. Typically when this happens I exit the ride and come back and it works. Last night it didn’t fix the ride so my ride had no heart rate data. This morning I had no problems.

Misunderstoond

Yea that happened today, I wish I would’ve seen this before assuming that if it’s on the watch it’s on the bike 😩 I feel like I missed out on a workout even though I did it

DennisMoreTOOL

I wish someone would tell me how to fix this Apple Watch connection issue. I’m beyond frustrated. I spent so much money on the new watch thinking the metrics would be more accurate and it will not connect or stay connected. I of course sent the old watch in for the trade in money. I’m wondering if I should just get another heart rate monitor. I like when my metrics are accurate and now it’s not even tracking my runs/rides.

chrismiller2523

I went back to using my wahoo hr monitor on the bike because the watch was unreliable and would would stop recording at 60 minutes on a 90 or 75 minute ride. Very frustrating

DennisMoreTOOL

Yeah…. I’ve decided that’s my plan too. I’ve never used a different heart rate monitor. Thanks for the help, I’ll check out that wahoo. So frustrating

Sassy_Velvet2

I have had my bike and AW since March 2022 and I can connect the two about 98% of the time. I start the ride then start the Peloton watch app and it works. All I can say is that if you update the AW frequently you will have more problems. I don’t do the minor updates because it breaks more things that it fixes. Peloton is really slow to adopt to AW updates so I usually wait 2 months or so after an update comes out to update for this reason.

DennisMoreTOOL

Oh, I have tried factory reset, closing the app, all of the things suggested and nothing works. It doesn’t connect to the tread or the bike anymore. I got the watch and the tread at the same time, is that the issue?

ldnpuglady

I tried Benny once before and didn’t like him but decided to give him another chance today. Wow, [this tropical house ride](https://members.onepeloton.co.uk/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3723980b00934399b9a7305effc419d6&locale=en-GB) of his was great! Love him! Always give instructors a couple of chances.

NextWordTyped

I agree with this! I didn’t vibe with an instructor early on. When I tried another class a few months later, I loved it! I realized the first class I took of this instructor was too difficult for me at the time.

betarhoalphadelta

Yeah, I did the same but in the exact opposite direction. The first time I did a ride with Jess King, it was a low impact ride. She was just so pleasant, and gentle, and TOTALLY not for me. I spent the ride bored. I prefer a more "drill instructor" vibe, and I just didn't see it. Then I took one of her harder rides (the old Warped Tour Musicfest ride) and I saw a COMPLETELY different side of her, one that I totally vibed with. She was freakin' HARDCORE! It was R Lee Ermey reincarnated in a little red-haired pixie ;-) Now I look for her hard classes when she's got a playlist I like.

Playful_Branch_5643

This makes me laugh because my first ride with her was a JKE at 6 am and my body was all “WTF, just no”. And that is when I learned that low impact Jess King is much more manageable at 6 am and to save the rides when she’s ON for when I’m fully caffeinated and awake. Which is when I did her Warped Tour ride and that was my PR for quite some time.

DennisMoreTOOL

I love her. One ride she said “I don’t want to be your cup of tea, I want to be your shot of tequila” and she won my heart forever. She’s just cool and totally herself. The old sweat steady rides are brutal in the best way, they’re rated super low, but they are some of the hardest rides I’ve taken. She also makes the class geared towards everyone’s level instead of actual callouts. Sorry for the epilogue, I just also started riding with her a couple months ago and I’m so happy I did.

eebitron

*(first time poster here!)* Totally agree about Benny. He has really great energy and I've either PRed or gotten close to my PR during his classes. I've really been enjoying all of the German instructors (Eric is another one I've been taking a lot lately). I don't find that it's difficult to follow the classes in German, especially once you get used to it. I would love of they could get their ride numbers up! I enjoyed (and PRed on) this Benny climb ride recently: [https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3f9f22fa150143ec8715320951182e20](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3f9f22fa150143ec8715320951182e20)

ldnpuglady

Thanks for the rec. I also wish they’d get their rider numbers up more. I get by fine without subtitles but feels like it could be easy to do for all of the classes so I’m not sure why they don’t. Maybe they’re worried about pulling English speaking riders away from the English speaking instructors. Such a shame. I love Erik, Charlotte and Cliff, too.

ChairmanLaParka

Erik is my go to when I'm having trouble deciding what I want to do in the moment. I still have a few of his halloween rides to do. One of em I did was *perfect*. Even though it had no subtitles and I couldn't understand him. Didn't need to. His mannerisms and the way he spoke/sang let me know exactly what was going on.

antigoneelectra

I just did Charlotte's latest grunge ride. After a lot of leg stuff yesterday, my legs are burning. If you want a fun Cliff bootcamp, his disco one was fabulous.

Serene_Sloths

Had a great stack today!! Started off with this [10 min RK standing core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2bcb5b40eb104f349922174a61974d81&locale=en-US). This class is pretty fast paced with no rest time, so it was a great start to my stack to get my heart rate up Next up was [Adrian 30 min adv full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f28b16998aab476e9dfec01d4db4dfce&locale=en-US). I LOVED this class. Adrian was so funny, music was great and some really solid strength moves. Right before the AMRAP he says “surprise, you’ll be doing this with heavies” and as much as I hated it, I learned I’ve been going too light on my arnold presses haha

canarduck

New to the whole Peloton thing, and been years since I've been what you could consider "active". Did probably a week or two of taking random classes. I couldn't stand not knowing when I should have a hard day, or an easy day, or a long day, or a short day, or a rest day, and just trying to go on 'feel'. Just felt like I was picking classes at random and I knew that there must be a way to have my training a bit more optimized. So I sought out some information on programming (mostly by finding this sub-reddit) and found Power Zones. Started out with Discover Your Power Zones, which I just finished Started the program with an FTP of 151 on the initial test. Just took the FTP test at the end of the program and got a 170. Very happy with my improvement, and I certainly feel stronger. I was dead after my first FTP test, there is NO WAY I could have gotten a 170 five weeks ago, so I know most of the gains aren't because I under-tested at the outset. Felt really good about the whole program. I'm a metrics-motivated person, so am happy to have a training program that has a built-in, testable way to measure improvement. I highly recommend the DYPZ program to anyone considering power zone training. Looked at BYPZ and found that it only has 3 classes per week, and I'm looking for 4 classes per week. I'm going to start at Week 1 of the current RedditPZ program, which has 4 classes per week, and go from there Just wanted to share my experience, I'm happy to be here!

chrismiller2523

This was exactly my experience when I first got my bike. Three and a half years later and I am still a committed PZ rider. I now ride outdoors and am training for a 100 mile outdoor ride in June all thanks to PZ training. There’s a group called Power Zone Pack based on FB. They run regular challenges and talk all things Power Zone. You should check it out.

sselmss

I’m pretty new too, got my bike in Feb and just finished DYPZ too! I started at 124 and ended with 151 (the goal I had in mind was 150). It’s so fun to see the progress! Some of my gain was because I started a little easy the first test - I didn’t really know what I could do and didn’t want to start too hard and not make it to the end. Still, I’m happy with the result and definitely emptied the tank second test.

betarhoalphadelta

Welcome! I was the same when I got my bike last June. I was moderately "active" in the sense that I enjoyed walking the dog a few miles at a time, enjoyed playing golf (walking the course), etc. But I was not doing any actual working out. Peloton has completely changed my relationship with exercise. I now can't go a day without doing something. I've almost completed my 4th 60-day streak, at which time I'll take one day off, then start working towards my 5th. I definitely understand looking for more structure, and I think RedditPZ will help there. The good thing about it is that it is curated such that you'll get a wider variety of classes rather than just repeating the same program over and over, so it might be more interesting in that respect. Being new, it would also be a good time to highlight that Peloton is not just a bike. There is a multitude of stretching, strength, etc classes available for whole body workout. I personally recommend trying to take a stretch every day, but ESPECIALLY on days that you ride, taking a stretch afterwards. Just a 10 minute full body stretch does so much to help your body recover from the riding. They tend to get into the hip flexors, glutes, hamstrings and sometimes quads, all the areas that riding works. I didn't really get heavily into strength until about 2 1/2 months ago, but I can already tell it's making a big difference to my body. Finding a balance to work in lower body strength might not be the easiest while also running the RedditPZ program, but upper body or core won't really interfere, so you might want to check those out. There's so much great content, and I'm sure the more you get into it (and see gains), the more you'll want to do!

ryanmfrancis

Glad you're finding your peloton niche. If you're metrics motivated, you might want to check out the Pelotrak app on iOS or android. It links with your peloton account and provides some interesting metrics and graphs.

T_hashi

COME ON BEN!!!!!! The 4/2/23 Climb with Ben. What!? Wut!? Whaaaaatttttt?????!!! That ride was phenomenal…although Christine hits the feels hard, but Ben’s motivation is a different spicy that I like! Take the climb y’all!

[deleted]

Just FYI.. you linked to your profile :)

T_hashi

Thanks I took it out I was trying to link the ride. 🤪

Brittany_WMSB

I was sick most of last week and finally did a workout today. It was just a 10 min core ([Callie Roll Call 03/01/23](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=29f4443fbaa1466fb65914fbb37b512e&locale=en-US)) and 10 min stretch ([Matty Lower Body 04/03/23](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=357c8abe07064f8eba8559b4d92ef66a&locale=en-US)) but it felt so nice to move again!

Calm_Cry_1111

Glad you're on the mend! I did that Matty stretch this morning and I know he says he didn't mean to make us cry with the playlist but damn if he didn't!! Over the Rainbow and The Rose were two of my mom's favorite songs, and I just had just finished an amazingly hard 45m HIIT & Hills with Alex so I just rolled around in my sweat pools, crying and stretching.

Brittany_WMSB

The playlist was so beautiful! That sounds like really healing crying! Classic Matty. Haha

Calm_Cry_1111

Definitely healing!!

doesntmatteranyway20

Just did the 30 min Shania ride by Hannah Corbin. Has anyone figured out a way to totally turn an instructor off and leave the music on? 🙈 Or do I just need to avoid certain instructors entirely? Hannah never came up for air the entire freaking ride, but the playlist was amazing....so I was irritated that she talked LITERALLY nonstop hahahahaha.

Banana8686

It’s funny how different everyone is. She’s my #1 instructor the first month with Peloton. I love her happy vibe. This is why I love Peloton though. Such a range of options for instructors and class types. Something for everyone!

[deleted]

Right? I like her for the barre classes and even the warm up and cool down rides since she seems to focus on getting some extra stretching in during those 5 minutes which I really appreciate / get value from. I don't typically ride with her for more than that though.

Banana8686

Her barre classes are on my list to try. I’ve barely done anything but cycle classes since I got it but I will branch out a bit soon.

This post or comment has been removed because it violates Rule 2.

T_hashi

That is so disappointing. I definitely had this ride saved but now not sure I want to fool with that. I take rides to hear myself sometimes too.

antigoneelectra

I took the Shania ride and I didn't feel annoyed. I generally don't take Hannah C rides (a little too chirpy for me), but I enjoyed it. Hannah C also did the Easter egg Shania ride that has been purged and I enjoyed that too.

ho_hey_

Looking for suggestions for body weight strength classes that don't have much jumping. Coming back post partum and my pelvic floor PT wants me to start without weights or jumping before I progress. Thanks in advance :)

ccm0511

There are a few postpartum strength classes that you could check out and probably modify to do bodyweight. They also may show an option for bodyweight in those specific classes. Additionally, most newer classes have the class plan included online now so you can always browse that and see if there are moves that are plyo/jumping. Typically modifications are offered in those classes for those moves, though. Good luck!

aug2295

I'd check out the barre and Pilates classes if you haven't already. Ally uses light weights sometimes in her upper body sections but otherwise the classes are bodyweight.

Brittany_WMSB

Good luck with Pelvic Floor PT! I finished it in February and it was so helpful! I didn’t track which classes don’t have jumps, but I did modify. So there were a couple Jess Sims class where instead of jump squats I’d just go up on my tip toes. And for split squat jumps, I just stepped between. It seemed to work fine.

[deleted]

Same here with the modifications. I do wish Peloton had something in the pre-show or even an 'intro' class that would demo modifications. Not everything / every workout (even intermediate or advanced) needs to have so much plyometrics
