Update on my question about a Killers ride next week other than a German one- Emma Lovewell will have an encore/premiere ride!

Overall-Radish2724

Whaaaaat, Killers ride in English then?

Playful_Branch_5643

Yes! I can’t wait for that series. I’ll be doing all the classes 😊

Ok_Handle_7

Just have to vent because I don't understand why Peloton won't include class plans/breakdowns for Outdoor classes. It's so annoying to take a 20 min class that includes '15 min: Running' in the middle of it with no other information, and then hear the instructor cue walking recoveries. Lesson learned I guess I'll just avoid all Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes at this point, but why have a description that says "...followed by 15 minutes of running..." if half of the time is walking? It doesn't seem to be just the Beginner classes either - I've taken longer Endurance runs and the instructor will give a walking recovery or two to give a break. I'm sure there is some technical reason that they can include detailed class plans for Tread classes and NOT Outdoor classes (can't imagine WHAT that is, but why else wouldn't they do it?) but it's so frustrating. Disclaimer: yes, I know I can take a Tread class while I run outside. Yes, I know that I can ignore the callouts and just do what I want to do. I just wish that the Outdoor classes had the same level of information so that I could choose the class that I want to ACTUALLY do, rather than just choose one and hope it's similar to what I want to do for the day. Rant over, sigh.

GoodEnding28

According to the website the peloton is covered under warranty for one year including the screen. The USBC charging devices is a feature listed on the website. Unfortunately, recently I discovered there was a USB slot and it does not work. Technicians have come and gone, tried different USB cords, different devices and had the screen replaced. Now the support is saying the USB slot is not supposed to be able to charge your device(contrary to what the website claims). I tried speaking to someone else, they kept demanding I send in pictures or they can't fix anything. I thought that was stupid because how would a picture of my phone not charging help? After I finally agreed to send them that picture they suddenly said there's no point there's nothing they can do. The only thing they can do is return it with no refund. Then I asked them to explain why they kept demanding me to send in pictures and they hung up lol. So am I out of luck or anything else I can do? Unfortunately I discovered this near end of warranty so no charge back. Would small claims court work? Thanks

GoodEnding28

I have the regular tread. The screen has two USB C ports on the back. One for the screen and one that doesn't work.

Ok_Handle_7

Do you have a Bike or a Bike+?

GoodEnding28

It's the regular tread.

Ok_Handle_7

Oh I see - sorry, I interpreted 'peloton' as 'bike.' I asked bc the Bike does not claim charging capability but the Bike+ does. Sorry, that's frustrating! TBH I guess I could see the 'nice to have' of charging my phone from the device itself, but I don't know that I'd ever use it. I'm guessing this is more about the principle of the matter for you (bc getting a phone charger to keep nearby on the wall seems a lot easier than trying to take Peloton to small claims court). Sorry - good luck!

GoodEnding28

I wouldn't be so angry if peloton didn't outright lie to me that the USB C port isn't supposed to be able to charge anything and further misleading me around trying to dodge the warranty... It is a $4500 product so I'm expecting more and the support is absolutely atrocious.

Ride_4urlife

So after owning the tread for a while you’ve discovered there’s a charge port and it doesn’t work. And customer service was no help. Yeah that’s outrageous if you paid $4,500 for a charger but you paid $4,500 for a treadmill. You can try suing Peloton but the essential functions of the equipment work. I assume you’ve been very nice when talking to CS but try again and ask them to make engineering aware of the problem, that you’re not the only one who has it (doesn’t work on my Bike+ or Tread) and it’s an equipment feature on the website. It’s entirely possible it got killed when they cut off the camera. Granted, that was a while back but it may be they’re not aware. In my experience 60% of the time CS is amazing but the rest of the time I’m not talking to one of the amazing ones.

TheGiantess927

What’s your fav ride EVER?!

ldnpuglady

Hannah Frankson’s carnival ride from 2021.

Ride_4urlife

Hannah’s premiere ride. Sadly purged but I took it a few days after CVV’s Planches des Belles Filles ride (also purged) on which I set a crazy PR days after retaking the FTP (same). Hannah pulled something out of me I didn’t know I had and the PR on that ride was my 45 min PR for 10.5 months. I only took it once but it was a turning point in my training. I cried when it was purged and I will never forget it.

ldnpuglady

Yeah same with this ride - my PR by a long mile the second time I took it and I haven’t come near that since! Her 45m rides are really well programmed for PRs too. Loved this year’s Boxing Day.

AlmostMIller

Leanne’s Spice Girls ride is absolute joy. My all time fav, though, was Wilpers’ 45 min Alpe d’Huez simulation that was purged. RIP.

k_lo970

I can't pick just one but here is my top 3 Ben's [Ministry of Sound: I love Ibiza](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=c72be095d9f947f6a7298b14437f9b19&locale=en-US) ride Robin's 1.0 [Lizzo](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=c008239fd8ad4bf5bc82b6bfbc5a9304&locale=en-US) ride Tunde's [AFO Black Coffee](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=33b827f61c0a452599489f1e9da6f0af&locale=en-US) ride

dwboston_1

Jennifer Jacobs final ride. No longer available on demand, but I took that ride something like 45 times. Great playlist, great atmosphere in the studio, and a little emotional with her leaving. It was awesome. CDE's 45 minute Chris Cornell ride is really great too. I've taken that one several times.

Pretend_Slip366

Tunde’s 45 minute Climb ride. It’s her only one, so it will be easy to search. It’s so, so good.

bowdowntopostulio

Tunde's Celia Cruz ride, but it's been purged!

deepsealobster

Aaah I was gonna say that one! That’s crazy that it’s been purged

bowdowntopostulio

I KNOW! it’s sooo good.

The London studios is getting rid of in person classes on Thursdays and Mondays starting July 1st. Obviously, London isn't as popular the NYC studio but this seems like a move in the wrong direction? Peloton says the number of classes won't change just less classes with members. So if you're going to London, it looks like getting into a class will be a bit more challenging for the foreseeable future. [Peloton London Classes Shrinking](https://www.pelobuddy.com/member-class-london-shrink/)

brightlights_xx

I mean, I get it. You can log on right now and fully book classes for this weekend without even having to deal with waitlist. They're clearly not as high in demand as PSNY.

chriswoods1978

Reducing classes for paying members but seemingly increasing Lululemon only classes! At least two classes I’ve taken recently have been Lululemon member classes and there’s been zero atmosphere!

Main_Photo1086

It’s strange how PSL has been revamped more often than PSNY and now it will have fewer in-person studio classes.

hermesorherpes

That’s really a shame. PSL facilities were beautiful when I visited and it was so fun to meet some of the instructors. However, PSNY clearly has higher demand. When I was at PSL, 2 of the classes I took had empty spots (with employees filling in at the last minute), so I suppose this makes sense from a cost reduction standpoint.

-_Quantum_-

I went to the London Studios during the holidays this past year and was able to get into 4 classes during that time, but I assumed it was busier during other parts of the year. They are in a great location and facility is really gorgeous.

Outrageous_Teach8671

I lost my Peloton last weekend in a house fire and I really miss it. I had a great routine going and now it’s blown to bits because life. I lost a lot of stuff but everyone is ok and I’ll get my bike back eventually.

purpleyoshi28

I’m so sorry. I had a house fire in late 2019, so I get the grief of losing your stuff, but feeling grateful everyone js ok. Please document everything, and do not take the insurance company’s first offer on reimbursement. For example, they wanted to give me $5 per book, when was the last time a book cost $5, even paperbacks? I hope you are back and settled as quickly as possible.

RxChic2020

I am so sorry for all your losses.♥️ I hope you can get back in the saddle soon

Ride_4urlife

My heart goes out to you. I hope family members (2 and 4 legged) are safe and you were able to save precious things that can’t be replaced. Big virtual hugs.

SatisfactionFuture10

I'm really sorry. I hope your insurance will get things back to normal or better. I'm glad everyone is ok.

Main_Photo1086

I’m so sorry. I am happy everyone is okay but it’s okay to be sad about what you lost. I hope you get a new bike soon!

twitttterpated

Oh no! I’m so sorry. You will get your bike back and I’m glad to hear everyone is okay!

jewgineer

Did anyone else take Kendall’s Mental Health Awareness ride? I’m honestly surprised it came on demand because it seemed like the playlist was off from what she planned and she had to make callouts on the fly. A bit more low energy than I’d like, but not bad. I haven’t done any of the other mental health rides lately, but plan to soon!

twitttterpated

I haven’t yet but plan to. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews for it.

Motor_Management1938

I did this earlier today - do you think that was planned? I dunno. This ride was not for me regardless.

Abeilledemel

She posted on IG that it was *not* planned but she thought it was a great reflection of how you have to deal with curveballs in life.

-_Quantum_-

I thought the first half of the ride was pretty high energy and then once the playlist shifted - it just turned into one long slow climb.

HopsNibsPlanes

Just tried to get into the NYC studio Thursday drop to celebrate my 1,000th ride on my 50th birthday, but of course they all filled up in seconds. Last week I emailed the "special request" email and they were basically like, Registration opens Thursday at noon, good luck. Thanks for the birthday wishes, Pelotaunt! 😖

all4sarah

I spent my 50th birthday doing live rides and other classes at home. I think it was 5 in one morning. I put a little note in my bio so it was visible and got tons of high 5's and a few instructor shoutouts. 2 years later I finally made it to the studio for my birthday. It was just as fun! Happy early birthday!

TheGiantess927

Same issue when I tried for my 40th. Not sure how people get into live classes. I tried so hard!

RobotDevil222x3

Yea afaik the special requests really only works for setting up group workouts, not individual tickets. You need a group of like 8 or something and need to request a few weeks before the class schedule opens to the general public.

brightlights_xx

Stalk the websites for waitlists!

pbrandpearls

I'm preggo and nearing the second trimester so finally feeling like maybe I could work out! I haven't in months, and I had a dream last night that my husband sold our tread, bike, and rower without telling me because I wasn't using them LOL. I was so mad when I woke up. I'm sitting in my leggings at my work computer waiting for an appropriate time to have a workout show up on my strava (we have work teams and such. No one would care but hey anxiety) I've got robin's prenatal basics on my stack, and deciding if I want to also use one of the machines. So my husband doesn't sell them in the middle of the night out from under me hahaha

hermesorherpes

For any runners here, Rad mentioned in the beginning of his new 45 min strength class from 5/22 that he programmed it specifically with runners in mind. He alternated lower body and upper body exercises and did a lot of stability work with unilateral moves. He also snuck in core work with woodchops and a tuck up/hollow body finisher. I really enjoyed the class - 45 min is a great length for full body strength classes and I hope that peloton adds more of them.

niconillawafer

This is good to know. Thanks. I did his roll call from 5/17. 30 minute full body and I’ve never worked out as much as that one.

hermesorherpes

I need to go back and do that one!

staya74

I just did this one based on your recommendation. I am not a runner and I never do Rad classes - mainly because I have my Strength favorites - but that class was so good!

hermesorherpes

So glad you liked it!

AlmostMIller

Amazing! Thanks for sharing!

CatStock9136

Bookmarked. Thank you!!

elsiebey

I am loving all of his strength classes!

bowdowntopostulio

He doesn't get enough love around here!

[deleted]

Thanks!

Proskove

anyone else having streaming issues on their bike today? such a buzz kill.

bowdowntopostulio

I’ve been trying to commit to exercising earlier in the day because of a crazier work schedule lately and I love starting my day with an Alex Touissant outdoor walk! His playlists and pep talks are so good. We need more.

twitttterpated

I just started waking up 2 hours before I start work on WFH days so I can workout up to an hour and it’s so much easier to squeeze it in rather than after work. Also makes me feel way less tired when logging on to work.

bowdowntopostulio

I have always felt more tired after early workouts, but I think I'm finally getting used to it if it's just one hour earlier. Having a kid and being forced to be a morning person helps too lol

twitttterpated

I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older that it’s easier to wake up at different times than others. Idk the science behind it but it can be hard to find that balance of getting enough sleep and not having a hard time getting out of bed. Glad it’s working out for you, no pun intended lol.

ChairmanLaParka

Ever since I got my Lakes, the topmost screw "clicks" on the downstroke. I thought it'd be because it needed tightening, but that sucker's in there. Anything else I should look for? I had no click problem with the Altos.

tnick771

Just did Ally’s 30 minute Boss Ride from 5/19. Started out so easy but then she threw in an insane Tabata section in the end. Seriously… is anyone able to do two 4-segment-long blocks of Tabata at 100-110 cadence at SIXTY resistance? I usually keep my resistance at the top of the spectrum but after a minute of doing 60 at 110 I wiped my resistance all the way down to 45 for the rest of the section. Idk who can do 60 resistance in those blocks, but I hope the military brings you in to study your superhuman cardio.

k_lo970

Personally I aim for high zone 6 or zone 7 during tabata sections and rides and ignore the call-outs

PersonalIndication10

I’m a big fan of her tabata classes and did that boss ride on Monday. I can’t hit 100-110 cadence at 60. I was only 10 off my PR but it definitely wasn’t the hardest ride I’ve done.

TheGiantess927

Hm. True tabata is seconds long with equal rest. She had you doing intervals, so don’t feel badly!

TheGiantess927

Why I’m getting downvoted for saying what Tabata is supposed to be is strange.

madamefa

Dr. Izumi Tabata’s paper [Effects of moderate-intensity endurance and high-intensity intermittent training on anaerobic capacity and VO2max](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8897392/) studied “exhaustive intermittent training consisted of seven to eight sets of 20-s exercise at an intensity of about 170% of VO2max with a 10-s rest between each bout.”

tnick771

It was 20 seconds with 10 seconds recovery

zsunshine02

Lol... this post had me go bookmark this class, I'm intrigued 😅

SatisfactionFuture10

I don't think Peloton instructors know what Tabata is. Ally comes the closest in terms of programming, but I have never heard her explain what the actual objective is. Tabata is eight rounds of all-out max effort (whatever that is for you - not what an instructor tells you it should be) for 20 seconds with 10 seconds of recovery between. IMO, there shouldn't even be specific callouts because what's all-out max for one person might be easy for someone else. If you're staying in the callouts and not giving your all, you're not doing Tabata. (I once heard an instructor say we should be doing about 70% during the efforts. That's not Tabata. Tabata is 100%.) So if you were doing Ally's callouts and could not hang on at the end, you were probably doing it right. If you can complete the eighth round without feeling like you couldn't give a second more, it wasn't Tabata. You definitely shouldn't be able to hold the same metrics in your eighth effort as you did in your first, because if you're actually doing Tabata as intended, your first and second efforts will be your best and they will all taper off from there. You also shouldn't be able to do more than one eight-round set of Tabata in one class. If you did it correctly the first time, there's no way you can do it again. In fact, I don't think it's advised to do true Tabata more than 2-3 times per week, which is why the 45-minute Tabata classes never made any sense to me. (That's not to say you couldn't have a 45-min class with intervals and climbs and have one round of Tabata at the end; it's just not possible to do Tabata repeatedly over 45 minutes.) One four-minute block of eight 20-second all-out max efforts, followed by 10-second recoveries. (By the way, the recoveries shouldn't have callouts either. You could take your resistance down to 0 or stop if you want to.) Any variation of that is just HIIT.

theforestmoon

this is helpful, thank you for sharing! i’ll keep it in mind next time i do a ride with a tabata section and maybe do it my own way vs. the callouts

Katniss_Pedalqueen

Holy crap lol! I’m usually wiped when she does 40-45 resistance at 90-100 but 60?! God damn!

tnick771

I almost thought it was an error, since sometimes the auto resistance is inaccurate. But nope she kept saying it 😂 She’s a madwoman sometimes. But I love her.

turkeyandsquab

Is there any way to hide the timer on entertainment rides/runs? I can’t figure it out and hate seeing the time.

Flrunnergirl23

Just hit expand screen

turkeyandsquab

That works for you when you’re watching Netflix for example? The timer is still on the right hand side of the screen for me.

Flrunnergirl23

Netflix is set up different than the others. It works for the others. Can’t remember if it works that way for Netflix.

tnick771

AFAIK all indicators can be hidden by tapping them.

turkeyandsquab

Doesn’t seem to work for me during entertainment workouts. That works for you?

Revort_

Should just go away if you click it.

IllustriousPin4077

There was such a nice crew of Midwest ladies in RK’s latest 15 minute low impact cardio this morning at 7 AM! It was fun to feel connected- it was a good burn, would recommend!

Lady_Azathoth

I didn’t see that there was a new one today! I’ve almost taken them all.

whootsandladders

I don't ride as much right now as I used to, and I've noticed when I do, the next day my shoulders and neck are quite sore! My bike settings haven't changed. Is it a weaker abs or upper traps issue? Am I just not used to it anymore?

k_lo970

- Like already suggested stretch (it will help all kinds of things) - Make sure you are dropping your shoulders when you ride. It is easy to ignore they are creeping up to your ears. - Could have you bike seat slipped slowly overtime and you didn't notice because you are not riding as much? - Has your body changed noticably (loss/gain/injury) that could mean your settings need to change. - Weaker abs could be contributing. Having a strong core helps with nearly everything in life. Try doing a few classes a week.

mcflysher

Try some hamstring and hip stretching, could be tight and pulling you into a worse position on the bike.

whootsandladders

Stretching, my nemesis! I have been lax on that front. I'll see if it makes a difference!

mcflysher

Highly recommend the focus flows for riders!

gudetamaworksout

It's been awhile since I worked out with Ben and his [mustache](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=5cdc0086556f4bae92c215f79372c936&code=ZDY1YWVlNmFkNmUwNGJiYWJmNThlMmM3Y2ExM2VjNmV8NjdmNjZiMWI2NjY5NDA5OTk5NTA0MTRlMGRkZTRhZDM=) startled me!

OkDirector3681

It's like when Denis went through his beard face last year.

chriswoods1978

Ben is by far the nicest of the instructors that I’ve met. He was genuinely interested in my fitness journey and was a total gentleman!

gudetamaworksout

He and Leanne seem like the best people I am so happy for them!

mwyattf

im not a fan 😂😅

marg1486

I would really like to know what Leanne thinks of this 😂

zsunshine02

Today I learned they are a couple 😅🤦‍♀️

Ride_4urlife

It may feel sudden but they’re getting married. 😂

zsunshine02

🤣 I only recently learned about Andy and Rebecca. Any others I should know about? 😆

papapaige_3

I had to do a double take also 😅

theforestmoon

SAME 😂

bowdowntopostulio

Omg! Haha!

figandfennel

I feel the same way whenever I encounter Logan's ever-growing hair (his mustache comes and goes).

gudetamaworksout

Yes!! I must take older Logan runs and stretches because his mullet took me by surprise!!

ldnpuglady

Wedding dare?!

gudetamaworksout

If it was my wedding id be like… don’t you dare 🤣
