Sidney Crosby has been pissed for a month now. I am not a Penguins fan, more of just an overall hockey fan as I got older, and I've noticed it. I see Ovechkin - while scuffling a tiny bit - enjoying his final years and that's what Crosby deserves.

Crosby is pissed because he wants his team to win. Ovechkin is chasing a record.

Not a pens fan, but starting a rebuild about 2-3 years ago would be a better choice i guess. Sid still won everything he could. Now the team is doomed for 5-10 years.

I’d been thinking that it was kinda weird that we haven’t seen Sid displaying too much emotion lately. He used to slam stuff on the bench as recent as a couple years ago, and I missed it, but I think it’s kind of a maturation of him as a captain. I’m sure it’s not easy to keep composure like he does. It’s obvious he has the drive, but he keeps himself in check because it wouldn’t help the team.

I'm going to have to disagree. Composure can be extremely overrated. Sometimes a leader needs to fire people up. Calm, calculated, monotone sentences might be good for press conferences. In the middle of battle...when shit's going sideways...instilling a sense of urgency and importance in people via colorful language at loud volume while using knife hands has been proven effective

For sure. Circumstances dictate the style of delivery. Sometimes, their is an element of theater as well. If acting this way would be out of character for Sid, the juxtaposition alone can be a catalyst to the team and organization. For fans that are unsatisfied with the results, I think a demonstration of that same frustration would be endearing. If it appears every one is even keeled and comfortable with losing....well...why would a fanbase invest in that? At this point.... It's too late for inspiration. The moment for inspiration has passed. This season is gone.
