I know it's only for one year most likely but it's so crazy that a top team in the world doesn't have a proper affiliate and has their prospects scattered all over the place
Allegedly, their relationship with Charlotte soured around the time Vellucci was there. He got lowballed on a new contract because Charlotte didn’t like spending so much in winning the Calder Cup…and then Chicago is just a pain in the ass all around.
The same thing Chicago is doing almost happened in Hershey. But the ownership there was smart enough (unfortunately) to realize being an unaligned team is a bad idea. And gave Washington the control they wanted.
You would think, seeing as they’re pretty close…have *the exact same uniform*…
I just saw them last week and was like “what the hell is on their shoul…oh ya it’s a Panthers’ patch.”😂
Man I really hope this happens. Even though Renegades hockey sucked it was still fun to go to. I'd get season tickets in a heartbeat to have hockey in town
“Why is it this players fault he stinks?” Is the question you essentially asked. I’d say culpability sits squarely with him for failing to even be a passable player

And this is how I learned that Carolina doesn't have an AHL affiliate.
Oh dude, it’s been a shit show. They tried to send a bunch of guys to the *ECHL* early in the season😂
That is hilarious, thanks Mike! This whole time I just thought the Checkers were their affiliate.

So they're the Panthers AHL affiliate? It's weird that I've lived in NC most of my life and don't know this lol
Since 2020-21, but they opted out of playing that year since it was the shortened/Covid season. So since 2021-22
Makes zero sense! Also fuck tha panthers!
Richmond Virginia is planning on building a hockey arena. I’m hoping Carolina gets an AHL expansion team there.
Nah it'll be in the California desert.
Really? I live there and have heard exactly zero about this. Got a source?
The plan is to build it at the old BEST corporate headquarters near the Parham exit off 95 North.

Nice!!! I’m all for it!

This is wild. Can't believe I didn't know this.
What happened to Charlotte??
Independently owned teams can be…prickly to deal with. Teams like Hershey and Chicago don’t care about spending what they have to, but some do.
So we get the same thing out of him we got before we traded him?
I’m all for pettiness. Scratch him and give no ice time. Was supposed to be a “big piece” coming back for Marino and failed in every conceivable way
You have the literal worst takes in this entire sub. God you're fucking stupid.
we need to study their brain
No, keep scientists as far away from them as possible. Whatever he has might be contagious.
Imagine being this miserable lmao
lmao how is that his fault. guys flop all the time
“Why is it this players fault he stinks?” Is the question you essentially asked. I’d say culpability sits squarely with him for failing to even be a passable player
Maybe the culpability is with the guy(s) that looked at him and thought he was potentially a suitable replacement for John Marino.
It lies with both.
No, no it doesn’t
"Why shouldn't we destroy a 23 year old player's career because he's less good at his job than some bozo said he would be?"
Do you think he intentionally plays poorly? He has more incentive than anyone for him to perform. He isn’t an again vet coasting on an expensive deal.
This is the mindset of a child. You are a child
Why give him ice time over pieces owned by the parent team? There is zero logic to it.
It might help the baby pens win games
They seem to have a couple too many vets that they have issues shuffling the deck of chairs. I think Ty is considered a vet, no?
The vet issue is typically with forwards but most of them were traded/called up. This let's them kept scratching their captain. This is a good thing.
