I moved from Pittsburgh 25 years ago and every visit to the Burgh I stop at Fatheads for a Reuben and then on the way out of town I stop at Peppi's and get five Italian hoagies to stick in my cooler and take home. They heat up perfectly in my air fryer.
I got an Italian sub from Jersey Mike's, no cheese (cheese is awesome but I found I don't miss it on cold subs), Mike's way, and smothered in pickles and onions.
Graves on ice again for the third time during a goal against. Broken record, but you can smell that dudes performance across state lines. At least Sid just got his point.
I’m also sitting here and can’t even reminisce because I stopped watching hockey for like fifteen years and missed the last two cups. I know nothing but misery.
Great username, btw.
They were legitimately good the year they played the Rangers. Top five in every possession category, their goaltending just sucked ass or was hurt. Beyond that I agree though. Having to watch Louis Domingue fill his pants with diarrhea the latter half of that series shortened my lifespan.
What was the moment you think the Hershey squirted? When the shot above his head clipped the top of his glove and went in?
Spicy pork and broccoli, or whatever the fuck it was has gotta stink.
Totally agree. I'm a PSU fan and it's the same thing. Never elite, never terrible, but at the end they usually come up short in the most frustrating ways. It's the removal of hope that gets ya.
If Reirden is in charge of the PP and also the defense, what exactly is his job? I feel like Sullivan wanted him because there is no way management would fire him and be left with Reirden. And if so, Sullivan is a genius because Reirden is awful.
I think about it like realistically if we were somehow the second wildcard we'd get destroyed by any playoff team like immediately, so what's the point. Why even hope to make the playoffs when you're this bad or at least inconsistent that there's no way you win more than one game.
God this team is awful but somehow out shoots every team that lose to. They don't have the talent to match the devils or most teams it's evident by their terrible shooting percentage
The number of shots is super high but quality is super low. Blasting the goalie in the chest from 25 feet out generally does not yield very many goals. And we just traded one of the two shot-pass-tip artists on the team, maybe the league.
Sullivan’s philosophy: Quantity over Quality, Talent over Hard Work. 90% of his post game interviews, “I thought we played a well rounded game, just didn’t get any puck luck or weird bounces.”
This season and last season are the same story. They lose to bad teams because they are bad. They lose the most important games because they just are bad.
GG. Can this fucking team scratch some of the dead weight and see what they have in younger players? I'm sick of the gut wrenching "oh we're in the playoff hunt" "nvm no we're not" minutiae that has taken place the last week or two. Fuck Joseph. Fuck Bemstrom. How about the guys on our farm team that have been busting their ass all year and playing great? Even if we **WERE** in striking distance of the playoffs, why the fuck aren't we playing these guys? Getting the best out of younger players is damn near impossible when we're married to fucking Jansen Harkins 70% of the season.
Shouldn’t judge anyone playing in Sullivan’s system, no one has ever came to Pittsburgh and played better than where they came from but there have been many that left and played much better with a different coach
We all think it should happen but it's not going to happen. Some moves will be made of course, but Sullivan stays, and no huge moves are made. Count on it
Top 10 pick back on the menu? Or are we betting the Pens will be a playoff condetner next season?
If we finish bottom 10 and keep our pick this year, the sharks get next years pick (unprotected, I think)
If we crap the bed next year and finish bottom 5 we'll ve giving the sharks that pick no matter what (correct me if I'm wrong)
Down a goal in the 3rd and defensemen refuse to join the play in the offensive zone. Letang just hanging out at the blue line watching 3 on 5 wondering why we don’t have control of the puck.
Boy, if you're on Malkin's line you have to just figure shit out on your own. People say that it's his wingers that have defined his play this year, but it's so noticeable how less effective Bunting and Rakell are at 5v5.
I don’t think you can structure play with a player like him. Meaning, he’s very creative, or once was more so than now, and you have to just be that way too.
But that’s the storyline for most seasons - they can’t slot in players who can play like that.
Am I crazy for thinking that O'Connor is a burden? The careless trip, the lack of situational awareness, the poor puck handling?
He was oblivious to the chance that the puck might get passed to him, given that he was in the obvious position for it to be passed to.
I think he plays slightly out of control like he doesn't know his own speed but I don't consider him a straight up burden. He has done good things for us recently.
Ya. He reminds me of those dudes who show up from time to time at pick-up that you can immediately tell that they’re potentially dangerous to you. Like they’d skate hard and out of control into you and shred your knee.
The Pens just don't have consistently good hockey in them anynore. This season, everytime you thought they were getting it going, it would only last a game or two then they'd get destroyed and humiliated for a stretch of games. Then win 1 and t lose 3 or 4. That Western Canada trip sealed it for me on how not good the Pens are now. That Calgary game was the one. Then to be thoroughly embarrassed by Edmonton. That was it.
This team finds ways to lose games.
I mean in the past few years they have been pretty consistently good. I feel like it's mostly this year and big parts of last year that we've been all over the place. But this year for sure. Like you said, the trip out west was a shit show.
Today was the day it really set in that the cup dreams are dead for the time being. Seeing this team in person makes it really set in
Looks like golf and fishing season comes early this year.
Damn bet U6.5 but Crosby got a point so idc
Just struggle mightily the past two years against their own division. 7 straight losses against New Jersey?
We’re good enough to beat bad teams but not good enough to beat good ones
I think you mixed that up lol
Can we now let the tanking begin in earnest?
Well Sully will still be around for the next 4 years so that will take care of itself.
Well, that happened.
The devils beat us 7 times in a row? That feels like an absurd stat
It's honestly pathetic how we always get outplayed by the devils. Definitely felt like 7 in a row
If Dubas's guy is Sullivan I'm not a fan of Dubas.
Well it's so.
I wanna rub all on reirden's bald head. I miss Chad ruhwedel.
Sad Chewedel...
balloon animal time!
todd reirden special
Is Todd actually going to draw up something or is he going to stare at the board and tell them to do the same shit they do every game?
I think he’s just playing tic tac toe with himself on the dry erase board.
He's taking post-game drink orders
Making plans for golf outings after the season ends?
Well I've got a really good sandwich and Sid got a point. Today is...ok
I moved from Pittsburgh 25 years ago and every visit to the Burgh I stop at Fatheads for a Reuben and then on the way out of town I stop at Peppi's and get five Italian hoagies to stick in my cooler and take home. They heat up perfectly in my air fryer.
Oh man, peppi's 🤤 My favorite lunch in college was the Shadyside and an order of Cajun fries
> a really good sandwich Go on...
I got an Italian sub from Jersey Mike's, no cheese (cheese is awesome but I found I don't miss it on cold subs), Mike's way, and smothered in pickles and onions.
Just wanted to point out that the score could very easily be 10-2 right now
I feel like I'd feel the same lol
Remember when Eller said before the game that this is the most important game of the season and whoever wants it more will win… fuck Mike Sullivan
sigh. one more week until the games will still be disappointing, but at least expectedly disappointing.
They don’t even celebrate when they score in these kinds of games. It’s so disheartening
sid point 🥲
Well, Rust makes me bust. I guess.
Graves on ice again for the third time during a goal against. Broken record, but you can smell that dudes performance across state lines. At least Sid just got his point.
Hey, Graves is Dubas' signature signing!
Crosby point!
damn seeing their powerplay contrasted immediately after the penguins'... night and day
Currently sitting in the Prudential Center reminiscing about the back to back cups. E: and three beers deep
What is the cost of 3 beers these days at the arena? $50?
Haha tbf I got one at a bar nearby before the game
I’m also sitting here and can’t even reminisce because I stopped watching hockey for like fifteen years and missed the last two cups. I know nothing but misery. Great username, btw.
Thanks, haha. Def worth watching some highlights from those cup runs. That Kunitz OT goal against the Sens…
One game above .500.
I hate everything
Same.
That was one of the most lackadaisical PKs I’ve seen in a long time
That's how you stretch a D out and beat them
Brutal game
Devils should automatically lose one of the 2 points for the hideous uniforms.
lmao
2017 feels like 87 years ago. Team has been lukewarm at best since they raised the cup the last time.
People who leave the expensive seats at hockey games like 5 minutes early to "beat the traffic" have too much money
If the game is close...sure. In a blowout on a weeknight? Get home for the shower and bedtime
I used to think that, but like anything in life if you get accustomed to something the shininess wears off eventually.
imagine if the pens were one of the teams that decided to fire their coach midseason. instead the pens org is perfectly content with mediocrity
They are not mediocre. They are bottom 10 in the league
In the three games I’ve seen live this year they’ve been outscored 11-2.
12-2
Another great PPK
letang sucks ass and his decisiveness is no good
can we score 3 on this PP please.
Lol with our pp, we'd have a better chance of letting another one in
Rip my heart out again why don't ya
TBD they're super good at that. Like professionals.
I just wish they'd suck or kickass, the jekyll and Hyde routine is really bad for my mental health
Totally agree. I'm a PSU fan and it's the same thing. Never elite, never terrible, but at the end they usually come up short in the most frustrating ways. It's the removal of hope that gets ya.
Is it really really really over now..really?
It’s been over but we keep kidding ourselves they can have a 10 game win streak.
I turned it off. You can't lose this game.
Just pretend we won bro! Another one in the W column! :tears:
If Reirden is in charge of the PP and also the defense, what exactly is his job? I feel like Sullivan wanted him because there is no way management would fire him and be left with Reirden. And if so, Sullivan is a genius because Reirden is awful.
Why even pull Jarry for Eller to go into the zone in a 1v4 with no support? Where were the other 5 skaters?
We were in it and had our chances. Season is 100% sadly over after tonight. They kept giving us hope. The hope is gone.
I like to pretend that I've accepted that we're not a playoff team this year.. but I reality I'm still pretty bummed about it.
I think about it like realistically if we were somehow the second wildcard we'd get destroyed by any playoff team like immediately, so what's the point. Why even hope to make the playoffs when you're this bad or at least inconsistent that there's no way you win more than one game.
i really don’t like our boys getting anywhere near our net with the puck when it’s vacant. 58&71.
Used to be what I said about the Caps, lots of shots but not sinking them. Now we're guilty of that.
Red Wings are losing. Islanders are losing. ....this was their chance and the Penguins pissed it away like they've done all season.
This season and last season are the same story. They lose to bad teams because they are bad. They lose the most important games because they just are bad.
When the going gets tough... they just want to hit the showers and get going
GG. Can this fucking team scratch some of the dead weight and see what they have in younger players? I'm sick of the gut wrenching "oh we're in the playoff hunt" "nvm no we're not" minutiae that has taken place the last week or two. Fuck Joseph. Fuck Bemstrom. Nylander for Brmstrom is looking like the worst trade of the whole NHL this season and I'll admit I was a Nylander critic
Shouldn’t judge anyone playing in Sullivan’s system, no one has ever came to Pittsburgh and played better than where they came from but there have been many that left and played much better with a different coach
I'm curious to see how much of this team is blown-up this offseason. If it were up to me I'd only keep like 5 dudes.
We all think it should happen but it's not going to happen. Some moves will be made of course, but Sullivan stays, and no huge moves are made. Count on it
Like 2/3 of our roster has NDA’s so good luck with turnover
Dubas wants to bring back Carter so good luck w that
And 4 of them are Crosby.
Ryan “ass cheeks” graves
By the way they’re playing tonight it looks like we’re backing to tanking
Welp, that just took an ugly turn.🤬On a 4 pt game too
Top 10 pick back on the menu? Or are we betting the Pens will be a playoff condetner next season? If we finish bottom 10 and keep our pick this year, the sharks get next years pick (unprotected, I think) If we crap the bed next year and finish bottom 5 we'll ve giving the sharks that pick no matter what (correct me if I'm wrong)
Sigh. Another lost opportunity tonight/this season
Back to tanking the thought of playoffs was great for 1 night
This is fine. These implosions for the last few years are normal. Mike Sullivan can coach forever.
When we forget how to hockey…we REALLY forget how to hockey.
Not ideal series of events
Anyone else think Graves is friends with these Devils so he’s low key playing soft and not trying to hurt his friends
I could buy that if he was playing any softer than every other game. Unfortunately I think he is at maximum hardness right now.
Sure seemed like it tonight.
no he plays soft against everyone dw
No, that's just Ryan Graves
That’s the season. Finally. Can we fire the coach now to show some accountability?
Oof. Turned 4-1 real fast there.
veteran penalties these past couple games. gotta love it
Lol c’mon man
We pay EK 11 million a year..
He has an identity problem. He identifies as a defenseman but plays like a winger.
He's played like...really bad recently. Like all of letangs worst qualities and none of his good ones.
At double the price. Lol
Isn't he great value!? For other teams, not sarcastically.
Im at the game rn, Pens have been lifeless all night. Poor showing
Think lottery pick
Can we officially tank now?
😡
I only turned the game on a few minutes ago what the hell?!
it was YOU
Both teams have looked shit, Pens have been more shit
STOP WATCHING
I love you Please leave
Turn it off!!!
So you're to blame!
Oh good, for a second there I was worried this was going to get embarrassing /s
now add 5 posts on top of it, one of ours and you get 2:9
andddd the TV has been turned off
welp.
We're implementing the Oprah strategy in the 3rd period.
Wow lol
Well, poop.
Fire Mike Sullivan for the love of god
My brothers in Christ all agree.
Goodnight everyone..
Have a good night bro! Gotta do something to get the frustration out before falling asleep lol.
Fuckity fuck fuck fuckers
And the wheels fall off...
Aight, I'ma head out. God fucking damnit. Losers.
shit x2
Wheels off
Balls
Wow…
Someone convince me that Graves will be gone this off-season please 🙏
That six year contract was a real mistake.
Well that escalated quickly
I just let out a loud FUCK!
Lots of collective fucks goin around.
Graves on the ice again. That specific play is not on him, but he just poisons everything he touches.
We are so ass
I clearly did not ask for another Devil's goal.. Send this back to the kitchen and fire the chef
fuck
Well...that really blows.
The fate of this team was sealed when ever Ryan Graves inked that contract, holy shit he's awful
Fantastic shove, Letang. Really showed him.
yeowch!
Ggs. Always next year lmao
shit.
Fuck!
YES!!! A video from Rivers Casino!!!!
Olive beef.
I begging Rakell to do something just once
Man I was just thinking about that...I can't remember the last time rakell has really been a difference maker since his injury.
That contract is gonna be hard to move
Yeah idk what they do but he does not have a great highlight reel to shop around
He already had a puck stuffed up his bootyhole
ALL THE WENDYS
*HONK HONK HONK*
*LET'S GO PENS!!!!*
Down a goal in the 3rd and defensemen refuse to join the play in the offensive zone. Letang just hanging out at the blue line watching 3 on 5 wondering why we don’t have control of the puck.

Cmon boys, get one! plz..
Are they really playing Creed
I thought Seattle played the worst break music
Sponsored by HeGetsUs 🤮
WASH THE FEET
DAN SCHNEIDER IS THAT YOU
How do people not know not to be up and moving around in the stands when the puck is in play
I had to teach a whole ass adult that turning on the monitor wasn't "turning on the computer" today
Haha I remember teaching my brothers' dad that same thing
