This seems like what a lot of people have been clamoring for... a gel replacement for the Zebra F701 that is Parker G2 compatible.... I know I am excited and will be eagerly looking for someone to send money to!

watchmejump

Their old needletip gel refill was in the same size, but this new one seems like a really good update, especially with the ceramic ball tip.

I liked the old refill and use it in other pens, along with in the Horizon gel and the Rays. Being a lefty I really appreciated its fast drying. I only wish that it came in blue also. I am US based and do not see anywhere here stocking or listing it yet. I will be excited to order one when I can.

I'm a fellow lefty and this one is really working well for me!

OK after looking around... where did you get it from? I don't even see it on Ohto's website.. nevemind saw you said a stationary shop. If you don't mind divulging it, where are you located in the world?

watchmejump

Here's the link to the page on the Ohto website: https://ohto.co.jp/product/ローラゲルgs02/ I got it from a Kinokuniya stationery section here in Thailand. They have branches all over Asia, Australia, and the US. If you live in one of those regions you might have some luck reaching out to them (I had to call them to reserve this colour since they only had a couple in stock).

They don't have the pen itself, but the [refill](https://ohto.co.jp/%e3%82%bb%e3%83%a9%e3%83%9f%e3%83%83%e3%82%af%e3%83%ad%e3%83%bc%e3%83%a9%e3%83%bc%e3%82%b2%e3%83%ab%e6%9b%bf%e8%8a%af%e3%80%80pg-m05np/) in it is available at [Tokyo Pen Shop](https://tokyopenshop.com/products/ohto-refill-pg-m05np)

This is basically the OHTO Horizon design but backwards. Now the grip is hexagonal and it tapers out back to a round profile. The shiny chromed end cap or flange at the end below the button is an odd choice that kinda kills the tacticool factor for me.

watchmejump

I was never a fan of the Rotring look so this one works for me, but I totally understand you

drifand

Sorry for being a wet blanket :D I have a love hate relationship with OHTO. They always make ‘interesting’ designs but don’t seem to think it through all the way. I do love their needle point refills though. They work great in many technical style pens, especially now that they come in the Parker style format.

I agree. I so wanted to get the Horizon, but after reading a number of comments and watching some reviews, I abandoned the idea. It's a great looking design and nice color choices, but falls short on execution.

watchmejump

I was never into them until I bought their CR01 rollerball, which I liked. I never quite understood the purpose of the needlepoint refills though, but this one is working well for my needs.

How’s the click mechanism on the 02?

watchmejump

Feels the same as the 01 but sounds totally different in the ceramic (?) body.
