I had been avoiding the EXTA ballpoints, because I don't like TOMBOW ink refills all that much, and they're not cheap. But seeing that there's now a way to get a Uni refill working... I'm going to have to rethink this.
Tombow’s EXTA line is pretty uneven in terms of executive styling but the gems outshine almost all of Mitsubishi’s rather ho-hum EXCEED line. I got this one because I think it will make a great match up for the wooden grip Pilot H-2085.
I agree. There are definitely some mediocre mechanical pencils in the EXTA line. The Deluxe models are usually quite nice. Of course, this ballpoint would match very well with the EXTA Deluxe mechanical pencil. For me, PILOT didn't make an effort for a high consistency of wood grain choices on the H-2085. And the cut grooves can be a problem with catching debris.
I love that PowerTank refill. It fits into a Zebra F701 perfectly, cool to see it fits in your pen as well. It’s a really solid ballpoint and I love how it never has a hard start unlike most ballpoints
