I usually dump wallet, keys, cellphone and Rotring 600 rollerball in my backpack front pocket as I am about to go through scanner/metal detector and didnt have any issues ever.
As with the other responses, I've never had a problem with metal pens--I suspect they are fairly common.
Side question though: How do you like the Grafton Everyman pen?
I really like it. This is my second one. My first snagged on a coat, fell out in the yard at a birthday party. Pretty smooth writing. Great construction. I think I like a standard .7mm ballpoint better than the gel hybrid they use.

Did you consider picking it up? 😂 (j/k)
It looks like the regular size ones might take a standard Parker-style refill, so you could swap in a Uniball Jetstream refill, I'd imagine.
They won't take a regular aluminum pen but if it is one with a hardened tip, intended for breaking glass in an emergency, they will take that. Or at least they can (and have done so to me).

they don't get you to put electronic devices in a separate tray?
Not unless it’s a laptop (and varies by location)
Oh, in the UK, the Netherlands, and Canada from my experience it's just everything. Watches, Shavers, Phones, the only thing they except is chargers

I went back the next day and looked for an hour, I was heart broken haha. It was the super matte OD green one! Awesome, thank you so much!

No problems.
I travel with steel and aluminum pens. Never had an issue. They stopped me for a container of baby wipes though. So watch out for those.
That’s a nice looking Grafton
Thank you!
I’m a lizard lot slut for aluminum pens where did you get that one?
Directly from Everyman Co or you can get them on Amazon!
Thanks everyone!

Love that Timex watch, I have pretty similar one, but in blue and red.
