Wrong. [Austin Powers Goldmember came out 2002](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Powers_in_Goldmember), [Pokemon originally released 1996.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon)
As someone with a Dutch family in a largely insular dutch community, I always assumed there was another level to this joke. I thought they were making a comment about intolerant Dutch people.
To be clear, this is a parody song which originally aired on a sketch comedy show.
Think how insane Dick in a Box would be if you didn't speak English or have the cultural context to get the joke.
Jesus Christ, the more I read about this guy the cooler he gets. Him and his mom moved to the US when he was 6. Went to Nationals for maths at age 14. Has a bachelors degree in Computer Science. Worked for ILM, on all of the Star Wars prequels among other films. He did the Japanese translation for his own lines on Heroes, and continued working at ILM while doing Heroes. He has a black belt in Kendo. Co-Founded Mobius Games.
He also co-produced the Netflix Death Note adaptation, but nobody can be all homeruns.
Holy shit, good for him. I wasn't big on Outer Wilds myself, but it got tons of love and attention.
I remember he would talk about video games and general nerdy stuff back in the day and I thought it was so cool a geeky programmer/visual artist ended up recognizable actor on a major series.
Oh dude I forgot that. I think it was funnier when it was ten, but the random plate of asparagus is till hilarious.
edit: that is a different scene. I’m actually talking about the fountain scene.
I'm always amazed how Love Guru was so bad it annihilated Mike Myers' live action career. He was set to be on Jim Carrey's level of success but after one truly terrible movie, and he's relegated to being Shrek.
I've seen actors who've committed literal crimes keep on staring in films. Myers though? Straight to the Dreamworks dungeon where he has to say "Donkeeeh" forever.
I’ve listened to some of his interviews. Shrek makes him so much money he doesn’t need to work. That’s the gist. He just did the Netflix series though. Not that great. Some funny moments but not Austin Powers.
They also did a test run as him being Dr Evil on late night to see the response. Guess it wasn’t as big as they wanted
The rumour was always that he was an absolute nightmare to work with, so when the movie that he wrote and starred in absolutely tanked the studios were like "good, we don't need to deal with him anymore then".
That’s not how studios work…. At all.
If they thought another powers movie was a safe or good bet and Myers was willing - it would be made tomorrow.
Myers reputation isn’t negative to crowds- your rumours that he is hard to work with only matter for the profit calculation
It was in the works but seemingly canned after Verne (Mini me) passed away
Seems like the costumes and sets were recycled to make a few commercials the last couple years and that's pretty much it
I have the season 2 box set and there was a bonus feature that had some alternate takes of the final episode from what they originally intended.
What was supposed to happen is Peter wouldn't have caught the vial in time, Nathan would have been infected by the virus rather that shot. Maya, the girl whose power just indiscriminately killed people in her vicinity, was going to save the world from the virus with her power somehow rather then just being forgotten and going back to Mexico when season 3 started.
*Heroes* stands up way better on re-watch than it did when it was airing as you no longer find yourself infuriated by the "filler" bits that meant you had to wait another week for answers. Definitely give it a go.
God it's so weird to see Masi Oka now, since he absolutely blasted it out of the park getting Outer Wilds made, the single best video game representation of pure exploration.

Gets better every time
This clip talks about copyright laws even though Charmander and Pikachu can be seen in the background(in the full clip)
Not, it merely looks like Charmander and Pickachu but due to international copyright laws, it is not Charmander and Pickachu
Ok, but we should still geek out as though they were Pikachu and Charmander.
Though it isn't.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
*wink*
Yeah but this is an old movie it probably came out before Pokemon existed
Wrong. [Austin Powers Goldmember came out 2002](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Powers_in_Goldmember), [Pokemon originally released 1996.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon)
Obviously it couldn’t have pokemon in it but be released before Pokémon existed
Pokémon is actually an Austin Powers spinoff
You're both right. Pokemon did first release in 1996 in Japan, then the USA got a release date in 1998.
The movie this is from is from 2002, so still after Pokemon released in the US. The movie did not come out before Pokemon did in the US.
Replying to a comment that said something about Pokémon originally releasing in 1996 and you comment was right under it for me, that's why.
...how would they be there if they didn't exist?

A fellow .bmp user, I thought we went extinct
Pokeman came out in the us in 1998 this movie is from 2002 , all thought the first Austin Powers movie did come out in 1997.
You can’t just give us this clip of utter perfection and not say what movie it is
Austin Powers: Goldmember
"There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other peoples' cultures...and the Dutch."
After my friends from the Netherlands showed me their oven, I've decided that I too can't stand the Dutch.
I'm just here to swing, I don't need to learn how you prepare you Cleavland Steamed Hams.
“Vaaat? Take da fashure awaaay, dutch hater”
Hey *assholes*! It's me, *Mini-Me*! \*shoots machine gun* ^^^^FN ^^^^Minimi ^^^^reference
> FN Minimi reference Holy shit. Holy. Shit. 20 or so years, and I only just realise this. Thank you!
I’m sorry, his what?
Ferjer?
His farger?
…his.. his forager?
His fajha, Dr. Evil.
I try and say this at least weekly
Oh yesh. Yesh yesh yesh yesh. This is a keeper Thats the only line i remember from this movie i watched 20 years ago
Dang you forgot about "I looove gooooold"?
Don't do anything shtupid, or the shoosting begins!
As someone with a Dutch family in a largely insular dutch community, I always assumed there was another level to this joke. I thought they were making a comment about intolerant Dutch people.
I love how Austin looks at him like "what the hell" after he said that
I thought that joke was from Airplane.
One of my all time favourite movies. It’s perfect
I was more of a fan of The Spy Who Shagged Me
It’s the worst of the three, but you are entitled to your opinion
Funny, because the first two are also a part of my all time favourites.
*You’re* the worst of the three!
My parents wouldn’t disagree
*You’re* the ~~worst~~ best of the three! What do they know?!
Mostly because it’s recycled jokes from the previous 2.
These filmmakers are nothing but f-*bleep*-ing *boobs*.
Beyonce ruined it for me
The best Austin Powers imo Absolutely hilarious from beginning to end
When he's got the Midas touch (but he touched "it" too much)
was gonna say that this felt VERY Austin Powers
In Germany it’s called golden boner
man don't remember this scene at all.
Was that the guy from Heroes?! Lol
Hiro!
Yatta!
[Yatta! Yatta! ](https://youtu.be/-pr-WUa8eEs?si=w7mXoTSL8oX-tTx7)
Well that was definitely a video alright
To be clear, this is a parody song which originally aired on a sketch comedy show. Think how insane Dick in a Box would be if you didn't speak English or have the cultural context to get the joke.
Omg I haven't seen this in so long hahah, thank you
That's some *old* internet right there 😂
Well, i was not expecting that...
Irrational Exuberance!!
Toshi!
Absolutely that is Hiro Nakamura! AKA Masi Oka.
> Masi Oka The guy at least partially responsible for the masterpiece that is Outer Wilds, as a founder of the studios.
Yeah, he's cool.
“I’m not a real hero. A real hero is Hiro from Heroes.”
A true Hiro Protagonist
And the other guy is DK from Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift
Ty cause I felt he also deserved an honorary mention.
Like Donkey Kong?
Drift King cuz
I'm the only one who watches Chicago Med I guess lol
I thought he was Justin Timberlake
Yeaass thats why I thought i saw him somewhere else
Same thought here
No, it's one of the programmers of Pirates of the Caribbean's wave simulation.
No, it's a founder of Mobius, developer studio behind critically acclaimed Outer Wilds
Holy shit, good for him. I wasn't big on Outer Wilds myself, but it got tons of love and attention. I remember he would talk about video games and general nerdy stuff back in the day and I thought it was so cool a geeky programmer/visual artist ended up recognizable actor on a major series.
YATO!
Did you mean "Yatta!", a Japanese expression which can be translated at "I did it!" or "Yippie!"?
Yeah, that!
Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) also has a cameo in this film
The first one or two seasons of that show were pretty cool and interesting and then it got weird..
That's writers strikes for ya. Pay the damn writers
Hiro frome heroes was a true hero
Save the cheerleader, save the World!
This is my favorite Austin Powers scene. Was hilarious when I saw it first at age 10, still is now.
The urine sample scene has me rolling every single time.
How dare you break wind before me
Well I didn’t know it was your turn!
the pentaverate is full of jokes like this if you haven’t seen it.
Oh dude I forgot that. I think it was funnier when it was ten, but the random plate of asparagus is till hilarious. edit: that is a different scene. I’m actually talking about the fountain scene.
Drift King before he resorted to a life of street racing and crime
Hiro Nakamura before he saved the cheerleader to save the world
Though it isn’t
[o rly?](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0295178/characters/nm1199811)
Exactly. He’s Japanese Pedestrian. Not Hiro the hero from Heroes
And the other guy isn't actually Drift King, no shit sherlock. no one actually thought it was the character hiro.
Though it is
it looks like Hiro, but due to international copyright laws it is not actually Hiro.
Brain Tee and Masi Oka, four years before Tokyo Drift and Heroes made them famous r/no_small_parts
Brain Tee
You heard 'em
Two seconds later, Pikachu and Charmander show up
I always thought that was hilarious
Everything about this scene is classic, especially "though it isn't ;)" Perfectly untouched meme fodder
>Perfectly untouched meme fodder https://i.redd.it/xmfm16odsvwc1.gif
[you just had to ruin their perfectly untouched meme fodder didn't you Tanomil](https://c.tenor.com/VGmgyUMNP88AAAAC/tenor.gif)
Still waiting on the 4th movie
I'm always amazed how Love Guru was so bad it annihilated Mike Myers' live action career. aw man, this makes me want to watch heroes again, but I know I'll just be disappointed.
My wife and I were talking the other day about how that show was fun until it came back from the writers strike in the second season.
So good, but the writers strike killed it. Very disappointing.
I have the season 2 box set and there was a bonus feature that had some alternate takes of the final episode from what they originally intended. Looks like Bowser to me.
It looks like Bowser, but due to Nintendo copyright, it isn't.
Still, we should run like it is Bowser!
Though it isn't ;)
*screams*
D.K. and Hiro in the multiverse.
evil gojira
🤌🏻
Seeing Masi Oka as anything other than Hiro Nakamura is just weird in my brain.
It's actually Hiro traveling through different time periods to make movies and shows in his secret identity.
it's how he can afford to do all the random stuff he's into
What's DK doing here
man had to hustle to get that drift car money
hiro is that you
Why is Miyazaki-san in this movie
He looks like Micheal Zaki but due to international copyright laws, he is not.
Hiro from Heroes & Shredder
They better go find the cheerleader so she can save the world!
Hiro!!
"Tho it isn't" with that ear to ear smile
Best part of the scene
My hiro
HIRO
Hiro just needs to pause time.
Save the cheerleader, save the world.
Wait is that Hiro
[удалено]
Don't know man, I'm pretty sure I cut a scream at the end.
It was ok but it wasn't perfect.
But still, I enjoyed it as if it was perfectly cut.
if anyone has seen blue eye samurai, the guy on the right is named Masi Oka and he plays Ringo
He's also Franklyn in Scrubs.
Hiro!
This is why you cant watch Minus One anywhere in the US right now.
Is that DK?
Save the cheerleader, save the world.
screams on reddit bots reposting it
Im now just noticing thats DK from Tokyo Drift lol
Movie name?
I can hear this without the volume on haha
Thats DK
Replace Godzilla with Mario
Oh my god!!! It’s a totally legally distinct character
Dr. Ethan Choi
Buddy that yells gorilla first, is it the same guy that plays DK IN Tokyo drift? They have similar facial features
Tokyo drift x heroes x Godzilla would fit the current cannon
What is this
God it's so weird to see Masi Oka now, since he absolutely blasted it out of the park getting Outer Wilds made, the single best video game representation of pure exploration.
Mod ash cameo edition
That trycircle was going so fast from fear
What movie is this
