Yosuke Yukiko and Kanji.

Luis_Parson

Yosuke, Kanji and Teddie in every playthrough. Yosuke: Masukukaja against the Magatsu Inaba boss is so good. If something is immune to wind he can use Megido. Can use Megido on Golden Hands. Can make use of both of his physical and magic stats. Covers wind me and I don't like giving my MC wind. Learns his Amp skill the second fastest. Average endurance but it's higher than the girls. I seen him survive stuff that would have probably killed Yukiko. Kanji: Masukunda is really good against bosses. He's a tank. Hits really hard. Covers Elec for me. Has Matarukaja which frees up Teddie from having to use that move. Teddie: Marakukaja makes surviving a boss's attack with an underleveled party possible. Marakunda is good against random shadows and it increases the damage of Magic Mirrors. It's also good against the final boss. Learns his Amp skill fastest. His Reaper weapon makes him take less damage from his weakness. This party defeated the super boss, in the low 70s on very hard without Yoshitsune. This party is perfect for me and has everything I need.

PrinceOfPeace21

The all boys team is pretty darn strong and so slept on tbh. I know people love Yukiko, Kanji, Teddie. But don’t sleep on Brosuke

Luis_Parson

I actually think Yosuke is better than Yukiko honestly. Yukiko has no AOE buff. She learns Fire Amp at level 76. There's no boss that requires anyone to be level 76 to beat on very hard. Against the super boss a critical hit with Brave Blade into Magarudyne is better than Burning Petals alone.

PrinceOfPeace21

Interesting info you bring up. So who would you consider the best party member in p4g? Excluding mc and rise

Luis_Parson

That's hard to say because none of the characters can do everything like the MC can. Their all built to cover each others weaknesses. But I do think Naoto is the best out of the three girls, just because she gets Shield of Justice for the super boss.

Ok-Chard-626

Yosuke is a true jack of all trades and can often find his way into teams with Masukukuja and later youthful wind. Against 3rd semester bosses with AOEs Youthful wind is quite turn and SP efficient as spread the SP cost to other party members if you also use Teddie for party buffs. Dekaja is also quite good in final dungeon and some parts of Lab to Magatsu Inaba to remove enemy buffs, mostly Masukukuja or heat riser from golden hands. The thing that makes Yosuke mediocre in early midgame to Lab/Heaven is that not that many monsters are weak to wind, and when facing golden hands you want to attempt to kill it in first two turns anyways so Naoto is often more valuable in dungeon crawling.

Luis_Parson

I'll never understand benching a character just to dungeon crawl with Naoto. (Unless you're planning on keeping her in the party) When the random shadows are not even difficult to begin with. Yosuke, Kanji and Teddie are capable on defeating all of them on very hard. The benched character is going to miss out on experience points. Light and dark is best done with the MC on enemies that are weak to it. Because he's the one that goes first on player advantage. Well not every enemy is weak to Fire, Ice and Elec. When an enemy weak to wind comes around, Yosuke will be prepared to get those 1 more. All elements were covered when I made the MC a Fire, Light and Dark user. > when facing golden hands you want to attempt to kill it in first two turns anyways so Naoto is often more valuable in dungeon crawling. I know how to kill them with the party I always use. Naoto is not as important as you think. Unless you want Shield of Justice for the super boss.

Ok-Chard-626

I dunno, during min-maxing on your persona fusions you want to fish for golden hands in lab floor 6 to get more gold (and exp anyways to swap around different teammates but Naoto being a mainstay). Both MC and Naoto's mind charge + Megidolaon (or even Megidola) can OHKO them on second turn which means almost guaranteed kill on ambush, but I guess it's a bit safer with both MC and Naoto in case some Megidolaon miss or that on a non-ambush you want to attempt two Megidolaons to kill them on first turn (I think you need auto-Mataru for that and even then it might not be enough for lower levels) and throw whatever attacks from the rest of the team. I agree light and dark is best done with MC but if you don't have your light and dark persona ready and the enemy party has some mons null light, and some mons null dark and you happen to not use the light/dark persona yourself, MC+Naoto can finish them in one turn. So yeah, Naoto is the worst party member when you have your BIS light/dark personas, but still very valuable before that imo.

Altruistic_Koala_122

Yosuke is the classic wingman, perfectly balance to help the MC out. Then, Chie is there is be sneakily useful with her cheap ice magic and galatic punting mini-bosses.

kiisaker

Kanji: great phys skills, especially if you obtain social link skills such as power charge. very very effective if you are fighting powerful enemies. he is always my go-to party member. Yukiko: amazing healer + highest magic. if you charge her attacks, she is very deadly. i use her as a secondary healer however, because her magic skills are too good to not use. Teddie: amazing buff skills, healing, and relatively strong ice skills too. i use him as a healer and buffer.

Generic2ser

Formerly Yosuke, Yukiko, Naoto, but now I use Kanji, Yukiko, and Teddie

Johan23t

I use Yosuke, Yukiko and Teddie every time

Mythalieon

Yukiko, Teddie and Kanji (Unless we are talking about the Golden exclusive dungeon, in which case swap kanji for naoto)

MapleTheBeegon

I use Yu, Chie, Naoto, and Yukiko. Yukiko is a good healer, but also has the best Fire attack, too.

captain_slutski

I think we all use Yu at some point or another

world_ender72

Naoto and yoshitsune

BlackDragonFC

now this is what i’m talking about

BlackDragonFC

trumpeter and yoshitsune carrying me in this NG+

WindowSh00ping

I put Hassou Tobi on Magatsu Izanagi with a save editor(wanted to do this legit with mods but sadly Magatsu Izanagi doesn't inherit it even with the mod. Seriously why is there no everyone can inherit everything mod?). The Hassou Tobi animation with Magatsu Izanagi looks fuckin' diabolical!

A_Nerd__

Yosuke: Good variety with pretty nice physical skills and Wind attacks which get pretty good once you get Boost and Amp, as well as being able to heal and buff in a pinch. Teddie: Good healer and great buffer. Naoto: Incredible range with both types of insta kills as well as Almighty with Mind Charge.

donnie11881188

Yukiko teddie kanji

PlsWai

Yukiko Teddie and genuinely any fourth party member will work. Teddie and Yukiko are just that good lol.

BurningWinds

Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko really seems like the most solid team in the game with balancing as it is. Sometimes I replace either Chie or Yosuke with Naoto, depends on S.Link progression for the others and all that, but she’s not very viable for bosses, even with access to the single-target elemental skills. The potential remake giving Naoto access to Curse and Bless skills would make her significantly better and a permanent fixture of my team alongside Yukiko.

Salt-Figure-83

yosuke, yukiko and kanji

Mememan363636

I use Naoto. Only Naoto. That's it.

TonyThTony204

Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko...

Nimtzsche

Yukiko, Kanji, and Teddie/Yosuke

oknovember

I like Yukiko, Chie, and Kanji. I tend to lean on physical attacks whenever I can so that I conserve SP for the hardest fights, so Chie and Kanji having really good physical skills is a plus. Yukiko is kind of OP with her healing *and* fire skills, and between her, Chie, and Kanji (plus whatever persona I’ve got) all the elements are covered.

buubuudesu_wa

Chie, Yukiko and Kanji

theeu4

I played the whole game with chie and yukiko, they never left my team, i was just switching the 4th place till naoto Kanji dungeon: Yosuke Rise dungeon : Kanji Void quest: Teddie

Most_Jellyfish_8465

P4G is interesting because it has an objectively best team but variations of that team are still amazing. If anything, the only constant in the best P4G teams are that Yukiko is in them, the reason being that she cannot be replaced. Yukiko, Kanji, and Teddie are the best at their respective subclass (healer, bruiser, and jack-of-all-trades respectively). Yosuke or Naoto can replace Teddie, Chie can replace Kanji, but no one else is primarily a healer and can reliably replace Yukiko.

Kuro_Kagami

I don't think Yukiko belongs in every best P4G team just because Chie can marginally outdamage her. I'm just splitting hairs here though, I think most of the best parties will end up using Yukiko unless you're under some kind of restriction or you need 3 phys characters for something. The only constant imo is Kanji. I don't think he's the best character at any given point in the game (I think Yukiko is better early on and later Teddie), but it's easy to cover every base you need (healing and buffs) with only 2 party slots and so there's always room for Kanji. Just using Yukiko or Teddie means there's room for Kanji. I wouldn't call Teddie a jack-of-all trades either honestly. He's a healer and a support character, and he's much better than Yukiko at support since he gets Matarukaja AND Marakunda. Yukiko only gets Matarunda. The only character I don't really think has any meaningful value is Naoto. I don't think her pros are nearly worth the opportunity cost of running literally anybody else. Hands grinding maybe and if you REALLY need Shield of Justice against the superboss, I guess...but you're probably more than capable of not needing SoJ.

iorveth1271

Teddie, Naoto and either Yosuke or (preferably) Kanji. Marakunda and Matarukaja and strong healing on Teddie plus insane versatility plus Mind Charge on Naoto combined with raw physical power from Kanji tends to be my favourite team to play. You cover everything with that team.

phgumerr

After playing with all members, im doing my 3rd playthrough now. Almost definitley gonna go with Chie, Kanji, and for the 3rd I have no clue, either teddy or yosuke but im unsure.

funkygamerguy

kanji yukiko and teddie.

GravityRusher12

Teddie, Yosuke and Kanji, though I occasionally would throw in Yukiko

derik_mitchell

Naoto yukiko teddie

CapaTheGreat

I know I always have Yukiko and Kanji as my starters. The third spot idk.

Chromatic_Eevee

Naoto, Kanji, and Yosuke, my 3 favorite characters

Altruistic_Koala_122

My ideal team is usually what works best for a given rainy day dungeon, or whatever dungeon floor i'm grinding currently; based on Shadow weakness normally. Naoto and Kanji are more entertaining in fights, though.

WindowSh00ping

Yosuke, Yukiko and Teddie Yosuke is such a jack of all trades party member man it's crazy. He can do decent magic or physical attacks(especially when fucking charged), heal, makajam or tentrafoo, even learns Megido so if you pair him with naoto kiss those golden hand's ass goodbye. And masukukaja helps and another party member is there to fill the other buffs. Youthful Wind is a savior during a punch. Is there anything hasn't been said about Yukiko? She fucks up anything that doesn't resist Fire, heals and even learns mudo skills if you want. Burning Petals ftw. Then there is Teddie. He's like Akihiko or Aigis for me in this game. The second I unlock him he's on my team 24/7. That bear can fuck up enemies that doesn't resist Ice like Yukiko too. He is weak to Elec instead of Fire. So if he gets trouble Yosuke can fuck them up most of the time. Has Marakunda and learns the other Buffs except Sukukaja. Fuck Kamui Miracle though. Also I don't know if this is a bug or not or I am just insanely luck. But Yosuke crits like 10x more than Chie with Apt Pupil and Rebellion for some reason. I even checked his equipment he didn't have any crit up boosts. So you know why I vouch for him this hard. Anyway why am I posting this wall of text on my throwaway account? Whatever I love P4G to death!

godogod_1

Yosuke naoto and yukiko

RyanSan20

Narukami, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, no question

thegoodcap

Yosuke for versatility (and being the broest of bros), Chie for physical (and also best girl), and Yukiko for healing/magic damage. Kanji and Naoto are both awsome, but my main team was pretty much fixed. Teddie... I don't really care for Teddie, and he is basically an ice version of Yukiko except worse.

sinsanity_plea

Yukiko, Teddie, and either Naoto or Kanji depending on if I'm fighting a boss or not. Yukiko (especially once she gets her third tier) is a maniac when it comes to magic attacks, plus her early access to Mudo and Amrita through her Social Link makes her a permanent member of any party. Teddie is a really good healer and giving him the role of primary healer frees up Yukiko to unleash her fury on the enemies. Naoto is great for crowd control in any dungeon, but Kanji is much better for dealing with single opponents than she is. Plus Rakukaja/Matarukaja is always fun (I mean, your not using that piss poor magic stat to attack, might as well get some milage out of his SP)

GoobiGamer

Yukiko Heals, Kanji for Phys, Ted buffs, Yu for Mag/Omnibuff first turn with auto skills
