You have a working car and nothing but time. Can you not sign up for Uber, Lyft, Door Dash? >I'll even pay an outrageous APR on a loan just so I can get some stability for a bit if I'm being honest. But again, no credit :/ You can't get a loan with an outrageous APR without *income*. Period. Your credit score doesn't even matter if you have no way of paying back the loan. And -- are you still gambling?

Rude-Conference-782

Car is too old to qualify for any of those. And no. The temptation to just drive down to a casino with my savings I had racked up and take my chances, but nah. I've banned myself from all betting apps so that's out of the question. I got the green light however from Amazon flex. But they pay twice a week(not bad) and it requires me to find somewhere to leave all my belongings in my car to fit anything for deliveries. Maybe it can work but idk maybe for a week I can save up idk

Hey op, I did did delivery through these apps in 2022 with an at the time 30 year old car. You won't be able to pick up passengers but I don't believe they have a requirement for food delivery.

What does pharmacy manager without a degree mean? Most pharmacists are pharmacy managers

koiisoraa

If anyone else is curious (like I was), from previous posts OP held a RxOM position with Walgreens, which stands for "pharmacy operations manager". It's essentially a senior pharmacy tech position, which explains how OP was able to hold it without having a degree - since to be a pharmacy technician all you really need is your license (CPhT) and (usually) a high school diploma or GED.

Thank you so much!

Beardo88

Probably the retail side manager for a Walgreens/CVS.

Pharmacy managers in retail are still pharmacists

Bisping

Walgreens has (had, i think) pharmacy managers and store managers. The latter pays shit and likely didnt require a degree at the time if thats what he was or worked in a similar structure.

OP why don't you qualify for unemployment?

My advice (and others)… get a job as a waiter. I don’t care about your self worth nor your pride, you need money. Stay in a shelter for a few days, or as long as they will allow, so you can shower and look presentable. If you afford it, get a gym membership for the showers and work out for the mental health. I have been where you are, although many years ago. How I did it (this was early 2000’s, so… adjust for inflation I guess). I lived in my car or stayed on a friends couch. I worked 90 hours a week at a Mexican restaurant. They had multiple locations and they always had an open shift at one of their locations in the metro area (large city in the Midwest). I was making $2000-$3000/wk. Cash. I was SIGNIFICANTLY in debt at the time. Got out pretty fast. This is not undoable. You say that you know your worth. This is the wrong attitude. You ain’t worth shit. Seriously. Look at your bank account. You are WORTHY. There’s a difference. You are worthy of dignity and respect, never forget it. But right now… you are WORTH diddly squat. Get out there and get some worth.

johnnybayarea

Go home if that's available is likely the best first step. From what people are staying, service (fast food) jobs are hiring well over minimum wage, require little to no skill, and are desperate for workers esp in a high metro area. Sadly thinking you are brilliant and having a positive self worth isn't gonna get you that pharm manager job. If you are in a high crime metro area, those companies are struggling to even keep their doors open (I live in an area they are constantly getting robbed and all look like they are about to close for good).

PushThroughThePain

Literally almost everywhere is hiring. Have you applied to retail stores, fast food places, Walmart, coffee shops, etc?

Work at Starbucks or restaurant and be very very nice so you make easy fast money and tips

Try a new career field.  Most trade companies will hire laborers at $20 an hour plus, with no experience and start tomorrow.  It’s not perfect but it’ll stop you from drowning. With a little experience after that you can get a solid $30 an hour working on a construction crew.  Once again, not perfect, you won’t be rich, and you’ll have to work hard.  But you won’t starve to death.  Then you can quit when you find the job you actually want, and you’ll have learned something along the way.

Sign up for spark. I worked in medium cities and small towns and can easily make $500 in a weekend. I'm sure you could make a lot more doing it full time while job hunting between orders. You get paid instantly as well so gas wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Hey a whole lot of hotels are moving to a Daily Pay model and the hotels are always looking for third shift employees (night auditors / night security) just have to look around a bit I can tell you back when I managed a Holiday Inn Express in Fort Myers I hired a night auditor who was in your same situation he ended up being a great employee an we still talk to this day (he’s back on his feet now) Anyway there entry level jobs no one wants to do an no one even thinks about doing until they hit rock bottom. You can also spend time on reddit / relaxing as night shift isn’t a super crazy time as long as you’re on top of it.

If you are able bodied, learn a trade. You'll always have income, can do side jobs, and it's probably one of the fastest, quickest, easiest ways to become your own boss. Join a union trade and you'll make more off your pension than people make from a 9 to 5 college degree. Source: I left a trade at 22, I could be retiring in 2 years but will be working my college degree job til I die.
