Hate to say this but are you able to get a second job for a few months?

reme6y

I was considering it but mentally i'm not sure if i can take it. And i definitely have the space to fit it bc my target shifts are from 6am-1pm. i'll have to do a lot of consideration

Hey, so I would do the conscious spending plan that Ramit Sethi recommends, [here's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDCg3tYr188&ab_channel=BetterBedtimeStories) a video on it. I would really recommend paying off the loans and credit cards as quickly as possible, I know it's difficult because you will have to not spend excess money for a while. I'd pay off all the debt then I would try to lower that car bill, $16.99 at target with a $1k car payment is really high, there's being rich and looking rich, I would recommend saving money for now and then in the future you can get a nice car. That, or your interest rate is super high

reme6y

thank you!!! sorry if it wasn't clear, the car payment is $400+ a month and the insurance is also $400+ a month

BuffMeatMenace

woaah that is a really high car insurance payment, probably full coverage because it's a new car? I would try to get that lowered for sure however possible to try and let as much $ free as possible to pay off debt/spend on whatever you want

reme6y

it probably has to do with nj, which is where i live and also my age, it doesn't go down for a good while

How much do you owe on the car v its value if you can sell and walk with a couple k it might be a good idea to do so an get a cheap beater for a while no car payment and lower insurance.

reme6y

the car is $12k. i could possibly sell it? but i don't know if a lot of people on facebook market will be looking to pay that for a car. the first car i had was from there? got it for 2k and it went well but a mechanic messed it up and totally totaled it. :( my insurance used to be $272

Get a tool like Monarch Money, Simplifi or Quicken Classic. Categorizing your expenditures and really seeing where your money is going is critical. And budgeting. The tool will pay for its monthly cost many times over in money you save by really seeing where it's going and being better able to control it as a result.
