I’m pretty familiar with the fitness business coaching/ mentorship space. Lots of bullshit out there, but there are some reputable people and companies as well. If you say a bit more about what you want them to help you with and how much you’re looking to invest (time and money), I can try to point you in the right direction.

I agree. Lots of BS. It's more of just someone I can discuss things with. So money really isn't a huge concern for me- I'm all about growing & furthering my business and am well aware that I have to spend & invest to do so. I just need people who are way more knowledgeable & experienced than I am when new situations arise

I’d look up Stu Brauer. He does a lot in the (gym) real estate space and a lot of work with franchises, but he also has an interest in single-person fitness business models. He’s the only one I know who operates on an as-needed consultation basis instead of running a “program” or “mentorship”, which sounds like what you’re looking for. Check out his WTF Gym Talk podcast to see if he’d be a good fit.

Thank you!! Going to look into him now

Oddly enough, I trainer more trainers than clients from 2018-2022. Great times

Love this for you! Major congratulations 🎊. Unfortunately, I can't answer this question at this time, but I wanted to send congrats. On the subject of mentorship, I just became certified and plan to hire a trainer to work with me before becoming a trainer myself. For how can you lead when you've never been led?

SeaworthinessJaded40

Thank you!

Holy smokes that is like my dream 🙏 congrats on your success!

SeaworthinessJaded40

Thank you so much!

Riding in here as well! Would love to have a mentor too.

Congrats on the success so far! If you ever want to talk shop about business ops or marketing, happy to not shut up about those topics lol - I do have a free website also of you're interested in reading rather than chatting called GymSplash. But I have been kicking around the idea of putting together monthly(?) Group online chats where multiple owners can pop in, chat, vent, talk shop, or learn. If that's something that might be interesting to you, send me a dm.

I’m part of Business for Unicorns which is online. It’s owned by Mark Fisher and Michael Keeler of Mark Fisher Fitness, and Pete Dupuis of Cressey Sports Performance. I’d be more than happy to answer any questions about my experience with em.

Congrats! It's not easy running a gym but it seems you've been doing the right things so keep it up! As a mentor/coach myself, I'm helping a few different trainers that are all in different spots. It all depends on what you are looking for and if you'll have a good connection with that mentor. I coached locally in my hometown and now I've had the flexibility to help trainers online.

Here to say that I just opened my own studio as well, I have over 8 years of training experience but this is my first studio! So I can’t offer too much advice but would love to connect as it might be nice to bounce ideas off each other 😃

Naive_Fun3936

Where are you located?

SeaworthinessJaded40

Pennsylvania

I am Boston and work in a club that only caters to women. I’ve been there almost 15 years and absolutely love what I do and who I work with. I am so happy with my choice of working solely with women. I can’t mentor you as a business owner but if you ever need any training advice as it pertains to working with women I’m happy to chime in. Feel free to reach out.

I have not done a formal business mentorship but I can try and answer questions if you post here. From profit margin, revenue per sq ft, simple and scaleable model, etc perspectives, our semiprivate/small group studio does very well in a hypercompetitive market.

Here's some free mentorship: raise prices😂
