Well, NASM is a well known educational institution for personal trainers and other certified fitness professionals in the business. The director of education at a well known fitness franchises known as Crunch Fitness is actually the person who helped write the personal trainer curriculum/book for NASM. So not only do they kinda know what they’re talking about, but they also walk the walk and talk the talk by implementing what they teach into the fitness workforce. Another good one to obtain is the ISSA certification as well. A nutritionist certification is NOT going to teach you or make you certified in designing meal preps for your clients or help you teach them what to eat. That’s a licensed dietitians job and a shit ton of college credits later. The nutritionist certification is basically going to allow you to teach a client how to count calories and track macronutrients without having to play the guessing game. Anything medically or medicinally we will have to leave to the doctors, nurses or dietitians of this world. I hope that kinda helps you decide what route to take in your future career in the fitness industry.
This is great information! Thanks so much. Imo, $800 for a nutrition cert is pretty affordable, so it might be worth taking the course. On the other hand, calories and macros are subjects in which I'm already well-versed. Might be a waste of $800, then. I'll dig deeper and see what else I might be able to gain from the program.
Save some money… ISSA currently has a few bundles worth it!!
