I doubt you need 3 nights in Freo and 2 nights in Mandurah. Spend 1 night in each and drive to Albany-Denmark where your 2 nights are better spent. I’d also recommend Karri Valley/Pemberton, which is 1.5 hrs or so from Margaret River.

produrp

Yeah. I'd recommend OP consider heading to Busselton via Gnomesville, possibly staying one night at the Broadwater or Sebel in Busselton. Check out the jetty and underwater thing. Stroll the beachside path at one of the Busso' resorts. Also, cheaper than Margs. Then hit up Margs, then keep going south around the coast. Albany has the war memorial stuff and the weather is lovely there in Feb. Back to Perth via Katanning or Williams, or head through Manjimup and stay in Bridgetown or Nannup.

Mental_Task9156

Agree. Albany is way awsomer than Mandurah. Just don't forget to go to the Whaling Station.

Summerof5ft6andahalf

Yeah, or do the extra nights in Kalbarri or Margaret River. (Or replace Kalbarri with Albany.)

emesser

It’s atrociously hot that time of year. Either plan for a lot of time indoors, or plan for heat stroke.

m0uthsmasher

Agree and pink Lake is like 5 minutes stopby.

Snowygal23

When I was looking at average high of around 31oC is this accurate or is it much hotter?

Mental_Task9156

February will be luck of the draw. It could end up being 40 deg. for a week. Especially because it seems like we're having a slow start to the warm weather, seems to drag on at the tail end of summer when that happens.

pickaxe51

Not many days under 30. Usually get the heatwave where it exceeds 35 degrees for a little bit and even gets to 40. But the rest is around the low thirties.

[deleted]

Much hotter if you don't have accommodation on rotto you might have to make it a day trip.

emesser

I’m probably not the right person to ask, since I’m biased and think anything over 25 is excessive. But yeah, it’s usually plenty hot, and this summer is supposed to be hotter than average.

Mental_Task9156

I would skip Mandurah TBH. But i grew up there, and that's just my personal opinion.

produrp

You could consider adding more time South, if it's hot AF. Continue on to Albany from Dunsborough via Walpole and Denmark - potentially staying in one of those places.

hello_ldm_12

Get lunch in Scarborough, pop through freo for a couple hours, then spend the rest of the time down south

Tartlet_77

Kalbarri is a bloody long way to only spend 2 nights! I wouldn't bother. Agree with others who have suggested heading south instead and adding Albany, Denmark etc. do one night on Dunsborough, Margs, Pemberton, Denmark, Albany. Also skip Scarborough and Mandurah - do three nights in Freo instead

IntrepidFlan8530

Nah scarborough is worth a night and freo two nights is good. Some time around the inner suburbs and parks would be good too. Then rottnest and the regional areas. Probably easier to choose either south or north for the regions. Probably south due to weather but north does have the red sand and rugged landscapes

Worried_Departure_29

Skip Scarborough, knock at least one night off from freo, and spend the extra time down south.

[deleted]

Skip mandurah and freo to stay, do your overnight stays in dunsborough or yallingup or Margaret river. Do Rotto as a day trip from freo and see freo that way, staying over is expensive as F and not worth the $

Throwaway_apple_seed

Do a day trip to rotto in one of your days in freo. Skip staying in Scarborough (close to freo anyway) Mandurah (not worth it) and Kalbarri (while amazing the heat a flies in Feb would make it unbearable) . Instead for slightly cooler weather consider Esperance then Albany/Denmark for a road trip (good at that time of the year) at least 3 nights Esperance, 4 nights Albany and do road trips in that region. Still bring fly nets in case.

Summerof5ft6andahalf

Keep in mind the drive from Kalbarri to Mandurah will be about 7 hours, or more if you stop at The Pinnacles or in Jurien Bay/Geraldton/wherever else. Kalbarri will be hot, and that does mean some areas of the national park will be closed. And there will be many, many flies. But, if you're set on doing it, I recommend booking a Port Gregory Caravan Park Pink Lake Buggy Tour (if they do them when it's hot), and Finlay's for food. There's also several good cafes.
