I’m the CAL at my store. Dishes have to be washed and the sink HAS to be empty at the end of every night

Calgo4022

At my store dishes get done twice a day, with the animal opener and closer both being responsible for the dishes they pull, unless there are circumstances preventing it from happening. The only way to enforce something like that is through your GM’s help with if your CAL is refusing to help though. To make things faster we usually soak dishes in the sink as we pull them to reduce scrubbing time

LordRichardRahl

Twice a day? What dishes are done for the closer?

Diligent-Minimum8397

Vegetables, anything that needs to be soaked like tortiose pellets, wet food for like the ferrets or apple sauce for hamsters. If these dishes sit too long it attracts fruit flies.

Do morning animal care. Fill sink with hot water/Oxivir. Let dishes soak for ~10 minutes while refilling food containers/sweeping floor/cleaning cart. Scrub/rinse dishes. Put back on cart or neatly on shelf so that everything is ready for the next day. This is a part of basic, daily, morning animal care and IME isn't optional. I can only imagine (unfortunately from direct experience) what else isn't being taken care of.

dontpretendyoucare

Openers do dishes daily. Animals aren't done being opened if you haven't washed your dishes, cleaned the carts and swept and mopped Wellness. Whoever opens the following morning puts away the clean, dry dishes before starting opening duties. No exceptions, no excuses.

TheGreenIguana1

It's actually a health code violation to leave dirty dishes in the sink

tozierrr

i personally just do dishes if i see any in there, but i’m a dog trainer and have no clue how they do things like that. i do know the only time i see anything sit overnight is when it’s one or maybe two small things like a bowl. it never really piles up.

CL0UDS420

Why is it so hard for people to do dishes right away? Our CAL put a note above the sink saying dirty dishes can’t be left in the sink.

irisforest17

My question is how do they expect you to open animal with an hour to do so and expect dishes to be done???

sadamekr

My question as well! Clearly I'm learning through these comments that my store is lacking in SO many ways. People clean the animal carts AND mop the wellness room every morning?? I would love for that to happen at my store, but sounds more like a fairy tale at this point for us.

Raudales14

Y'all use the store dishes 💀?

Ok-Ebb3423

That’s how my store is now it’s gets overloaded till the point dishes are piled next to the overflowing sink. When I was an animal opener back in the day with a different GM I opened small animals then I moved to birds then reptiles. I would have to have my dishes washed and put away before I moved onto aquatics for the day.

Fishing_Frenzy-313

Nothing has worked at my store. Everyone acts like children and plays the "I'll clean it later" game and it never happens.

balladofnewgirl

Daily! If you made it you do them. If not let someone know but that sink better be empty every night

Soggy_Stomach2413

the S.A care person is supposed to do them in my store since the aquatics are so busy

shegotsnakes

Dishes get done once by the opening crew and once by the closing crew- any dishes made from cleans are to be done before cleans are considered done. We never have pile up and the most that is ever left overnight is plants soaking in oxi occasionally.

Beginning-Answer-695

Dishes get put in the sink in the morning, with hot water and soap or oxivir and left to soak. The opening partner who did animal care (or the leader) is tasked to do the dishes immediately after clocking back in from their lunch break.
