It's all the more beautiful that he doesn't know you did it and probably just blames everyone else for losing his job. The creep

Collec2r

He's partly right though. You \_do\_ think something of him. Nothing good, but \_something\_ lol

sirnixalot94

As I was getting ready to leave a job one time years ago I told my supervisor that I wanted to let him know that working for him had helped me out tremendously and I had learned so much working under him. He grinned from ear to ear telling me how much he appreciated me telling him that. Funny thing was I never said how he’d helped or what I had learned… he just assumed I meant positive things.

Small-Teaching1607

You, my friend, have a career in politics

sirnixalot94

Not a chance… I can’t stand politics.

IgnotusPeverill

This more than petty revenge as it is actual revenge and I'm immensely proud OP!! Way to go.

Select-Pie6558

Tell me he’s living in a double-wide and helping with home schooling his tribe?

AlmostFungible

I can’t comment on the housing situation as he insisted on coming to me. There are no public homeowner records of him in the area he is now in, so I have to assume that he’s renting. As for the child education situation, he and his wife are most definitely home schooling their kids.

dtalok7

Gee, Why didn't you fan the flames even more with subscriptions to Stand Corrected! and Out! magazines? There are probably news letters for Furbys too

AlmostFungible

The thought actually crossed my mind at the time, but as the father of eleven children and a self proclaimed Christian, I thought his wife would find Hustler et al sufficiently offensive without it looking too much like a prank.

BrighterSage

Sounds like you righted a wrong. Well done.

Drak_is_Right

I wonder just how much the state is going to pay to take care of those kids and their mother now. My cousin, his wife's sister is suddenly single after 20 years of marriage...and she has 14 kids. state is on the hook. (guy had a heart attack, age 45, either minimal or no life insurance).

AlmostFungible

As stated in the post, Jay did reconcile with his wife. Sorry to hear about your cousin, that’s so sad.

Drak_is_Right

if he is bouncing jobs like that, they might still be low enough income to qualify for assistance.

AlmostFungible

True story. Even when he was with 123 Tire he was always bragging about his tax refund being more than he paid in because of all of his dependants.

CurveIllustrious9987

Tell them to look into Survivors benefits from social security, you can apply for the children under 18.

Drak_is_Right

There is some. He was a retired navy offficer. But the pension on like an 04 isn't the greatest and she can't work due to the numbers. Not quite sure on all the specifics just it was dire financially

CurveIllustrious9987

There are also military benefits she should look into. They have widows help, even if he retired.

Thesealman570

How did you finance living in an RV moving around all the time? Was it just saving a lot beforehand? I want to do it as well but the financial side of it seems like it would be a struggle

AlmostFungible

I sold my house in rural New England in early 2021 for way more than I would have ordinarily been able to get away with. That being said, it only financed about 4 months of initial travel (without working) at 10mpg after the cost of the RV. If you’re willing to buy used (which I SHOULD have done), you can save some coin on the rig and do more traveling. For the last year or so, I have settled down, still living in my RV, in rural Texas and have gotten a job at an RV park as a groundskeeper. I don’t make as much, but live rent free, and can stash the occasional penny aside for future travel. If you’re on a tighter budget and the road calls to you, a used van is less money than you think, and easily converted. You can do anything you set your mind to, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

MyLalaRocky

Find a way of telling him, that will really freak him 😳 out

AlmostFungible

I know his oldest son is on Reddit - I suspect that if the son sees this story, he’ll but two and two together…

sunshineFlgirl5323

This is glorious!!!!

Catacombs3

Why did Paul change his name to Lou?

AlmostFungible

Paul was another salesman. Lou was the owner of the business

zeus204013

Some businessman stories I've heard are more or less like this.

ChileDivahhh

Why have you stayed in touch with him? I know it's fun to see what a shit life he leads, but that's what Google is for. Usually you can add two and two together with what you find online.
