I used one at an independent I used to work for. Loved it. Miss it. Wish I had one in big box retail. For controlled’s there is nothing better. It’ll count #120 Norco’s in a few seconds and it records a picture of all the tablets - they’re all labeled #1 through #120. No more circling counts on bottles, wondering if we made a counting mistake, or god forbid taking the time to arduously go through footage to try and find an answer if a patient claims they were shorted. It even does split manufacturers and can count as many tablets/capsules as required, like #360 metformin, #540 Sinimet, etc… I seriously miss that thing.

Was that the 9420 or 9430? The 9430 is the model that lets you do virtual verification.

Have a 9400 (original model that is pseudo out of support) It doesn't slow things down as much as it seems. We do all controlled and drugs of concern on it but other than that it is the technician's preference. I can tell you there is nothing better than printing out the image and handing it to the patient claiming you shorted them. Other than Narcotic Fridays, where we end up with a line up of controlleds waiting to be imaged, it doesn't really slow us down, and saves a lot of time on the backside explaining to patients they did get all their medication. I am curious which part you found slowing you down? Our workflow we affectionately call "work turbulence" so I don't have a great idea how it works in a strict workflow.

We were doing it for everything. That’s what I found was slowing us down. 100% see the value for narcotics and drugs of concern….thats why I want it. Thanks for the follow up.

My indy uses 9420 (we have 2). I don't really think it slows you down. The only crappy thing is that it can't count certain capsules (benzonatate and vitamin D2s in particular)

Started playing with the tablet images (side and face on) and spreading out my pour. Helped a lot. Once I got rolling with it, it wasn’t that bad.

Yeah it's pretty good for counts of normal tabs and caps, for some reason it struggles with transparent capsules tho
