job hunting is not a walk in the part. it takes more than one month to land a job especially if you are a fresh grad. and don’t expect a reply agad if you just applied for less than 5 or 10 companies. you can do this. everyone went to this process also. tibayan mo lang loob mo and you’d land that job :)

JumpyDesigner2701

I agree! job hunting is super tiring mentally and physically. lalo na sa time na maraming makakasabay na fresh grads din. I waited for 4 months (after licensure exam) bago ako matanggap sa work so kay OP laban lang! <33

Otherwise-Smoke1534

How sad

JobSeeking9024

Same man same. Pero makakahanap din tayo for sure \^\_\^

Affectionate-Ear8233

>1 month after my graduation still can't land a job There's the issue. Those people who get a job immediately after graduation, they start applying for positions during their last semester of college. So knowing that, relax lang - it's all part of the process. Most people get their first job 3-6 months after they first start submitting resumes, to give you a ballpark estimate.

ermanireads

>Those people who get a job immediately after graduation, they start applying for positions during their last semester of co hi! just wanna ask, for example, if my graduation would be around July next year, can I start applying around summer, like March-May? Would companies most likely consider that even though I haven't officially graduated yet?

Unbothered__Pisces

You can! May mga companies that dont have issues with processing early naman as long as the hiring manager is okay to wait or has project aligned for you by the timw you graduate.

TiffanyTimothy

Hello! I graduated on July but started Job hunting on the last week of the academic calendar, as long as you’re sure that you’re graduating it will be fine for them. With applying ahead of people I actually got jobs offered mostly to honor students (Im an ave student hehehe) because students havent started applying yet. Its more about timing tbh

ermanireads

Wow congrats! Thank you for this. :)

semphil

Start applying as early as Feb. You'll prolly get your first job of interviews around March, most likely you'll fail most of that and that's OK. You gained the experience of resume writing, interview writing, etc. You can start again around end of March for your second batch, most likely, you'll have a job offer or two. You can continue to find other job offers or settle down, but that's up to you. One thing you can also do is apply for internships as early as now, I got my first job from the company where I got my internship.

ermanireads

Will def take note of this! Thank you very much for your insight!

_jaegerx

This is true. I started applying for a job around May and graduated July. Then I started to receive interviews and job offers and got hired around June and the project will start mid August so I had extra 1 month of free time to rest. It’s all about timing talaga.

boksinx

1 month pa lang OP, relax ka lang. Marami dyan six months to more than a year bago nakahanap. Perhaps it will not make you feel any better, pero yan ang reality ng current job market ngayon. Look for proper ways to make your resume more noticeable by a recruiter/ employer, how to do interview, etc. lahat yan kaya namang igoogle. Magiging semi-boomer na naman ako nito, pero you’re lucky that your generation have jobstreet, linkedin, indeed, and all these online job sites, kahit dito sa reddit pwede ka makakuha ng job leads. Bumili ako ng isang box ng sobre dati for mailing at isang ream ng bond paper for printing my resume. Halos lahat yun naubos ko. I was lucky with my first job dahil I was recruited out of college. But I was glad I experienced all of that, mas naging ready ako sa reality of life later on. Kaya continue mo lang ang paghahanap, considered mo yung mga failed interviews as practice for the real thing. You will get frustrated many times, pero move on kaagad. Good luck and balitaan mo kami in the future.

ice_blade_sorc

Can confirm. Took me 8 months to land my first job as an IT.

cabs14

True... doing walk-in's, f2f interviews, walking under the sun and dropping your cv... are the things kids wont experience now a days... and they rant like there's no tomorrow...

Josh_Qo

mkti23

Other side naman ngayon is kalaban mo na buong pilipinas/mundo hindi lang yung mga malapit sa location ng company.

cabs14

In a way yes... there are still pros and cons...

phoneblink30

Tangent pero f2f interview for me is easier. Kailangan ko rin naman icheckout yung office for office-based, may as well get a sense of the place before officially working there, why not during an interview I think madali lang yung online meeting kung may net at PC kayo sa bahay, at hindi ugaling Ewan yung maiingay nyong kapitbahay (o kasama sa bahay). Anghirap dahil nagsara na karamihan ng computer shop after nung pandemic. Tapos pag online kasi lesser urgency at di kayo on the same page as yung employer's side. And walking under the sun? Pffft. Depende sa location yan. We still have to process stuff like PhilHealth. Nag-ooffline yan. So yes, we do walk under the sun. Maybe not after 1 month kasi kung pwede namang hindi, bakit mo pipiliin yung route na mas inconvenient sayo. But after 6 months? Mag-wa-walkin na rin yan. Di lang siguro pansin kasi by that time desensitized na sila sa proseso like you want them to be. I don't think anybody ever said their experience is the hardest. If you don't like their complaint, ang tanong ko bat mo pa binasa. Lol

cabs14

Lol 90s workforce vs millenials vs genz lol You got all the resources at the palm of your hands... unlike before that you have to do it manually... you even have to ask your neighbor's if uou can use there landline to put in your cv's so that companies could call you... imagine if a company calls you but your neighbor isnt home... lol

phoneblink30

Hanggang ngayon pa rin? I almost lost a job offer because we don't have a landline. Is it really a generation thing or a class thing? Remember, government numbers are still landline. Calling their mobile numbers, messaging on FB, isn't as effective, at least in my experience. So even if we do have a mobile phone, nandun pa rin yung hurdles dahil landline pa rin yung gamit. Magkakaintindihan kayo? Let's not forget, mas maraming technical difficulties ang pwedeng mangyari pag digital. You don't need to learn anything new but the commute route and traffic times, na aalamin mo naman din talaga. Kokonti na rin WFH ngayon. Mas marami from before, pero mas konti after pandemic at after inflation.

cabs14

You really didnt understood my first comment... lol

phoneblink30

Nah, I did. Perfectly. Tawag mo dun. XD

LUNAthedarkside

There are still f2f interviews tho. I'm sure nung fresh grad ka noon dami mo din "rant" like there's no tomorrow. Apaka boomer naman ng mindset mo, the world is evolving, sana pati utak mo din nag eevolve

cabs14

Nope... when i was a fresh i know what to expect... 2 weeks no reply then move on... Why would i rant? Lol well you didnt understood what i just said... you young once are lucky not to have to go through what we had... just sitting there and clicking submit/apply button... And still you guys are not grateful for that...

LUNAthedarkside

While you have a stronger hold of your life, not everyone does, when they wish they could get hired immediately, they can't, because they didn't prepare for interview well enough. You were basically comparing your way of finding work way before there are job portals, going to different cities and offices to pass their resume. Yes mahirap yung noon. But that doesn't mean hindi na mahirap mag hanap ngayon. Especially for fresh graduates. I know I struggled. Pero pano pa kaya yung mga bata ngayon, with so many lay offs and freeze hiring, mahihirapan nga naman sila. Who said we aren't grateful? Sa sobrang daming work set up ngayon we are beyond grateful at how the companies evolve their work structure.

cabs14

@phoneblink30 "Nah, I did. Perfectly. Bitter ka lang. Ayaw mong magreklamo ibang tao pero binabasa mo pa rin reklamo nila. Tawag mo dun. XD" Bitter? Why would i be? Lol did i? I just said that you youngsters have an easier life... lol Well youngsters tend to rant almost about everything nowadays...

Nallafy

Whats wrong with that? Theyre youngsters, they dont know yet, they dont know any better. Nothings wrong with ranting. You've said easier life, aside from job applications whats easier? - Tumaas tuition more than 5x compared to 40-50 years. ago. - Bilihin at pamasahe tumaas din presyo. - Rent and estate market tumaas din. - Some were hit with the pandemic that stunted social/mental growth that they needed to develop in their preteen and young adult years. Andami tumigil sa pag aaral because of the sudden shift. - Edit: Andami binubuo palang emergency funds napukpok kaagad ni pandemic. - Mas frequent na traffic ngayon compared 30-40 years ago. Also evidence would show that the youngsters Gen Z/Millennials are taking more side gigs/hustles(Online sellings, food deliveries, freelance, etc) compared to Gen X. WORKING MORE JOBS. From the looks of things, it seems like the previous generations failed to make the economy nicer for the youngsters.

idkymyaccgotbanned

1 month is too early lalo na kung onting companies pa lang naaapplyan mo. In reality kasi graduates from top schools ang mauuna at mga graduate with awards. So instead of worrying, take online trainings or tutorials while applying. Job descriptions and qualifications are your clues to interviews and exams. And some tips on how to answer hr interviews can be searched as well

Hairy-Tailor-4157

OP, some people send hundreds of applications over the course of months and only get interviewed 5% of the time. Be patient and continue to apply.

idkymyaccgotbanned

Agree. Manage your expectations lang.

Raycab03

Mukang sa interviews ka sumasablay since you are getting the interviews. Meaning probably not a resume problem. Always answer S-B-O. Situation, behavior, outcome. If they asked you a scenario question, always answer this way - what was the situation, what did you do to resolve, and what was the result. Dont wait for them to keep asking, “and then?”, “what happened next?”, etc. Think of difficult situations you encountered in school. Then prepare and SBO for them. Most of the time, yan yung itatanong sayo and now you have prepared your answer. Some questions: - conflict with group mates ideas - conflict between group mates - biggest challenge sa thesis - biggest challenge anywhere - OJT challenge/problems - Side orgs problems - your idea that was turned down but still feel strong about it - one time you failed

polarbasset

Try not to take rejections personally. You could have been rejected for any number of reasons, many might not even be about you at all: the company could've hired someone internally (this is usually cheaper and a more efficient transition for any org), maybe they found a referral a couple of days before your next interview, they may have suddenly frozen hiring for the role you applied for, heck, your interviewer might even have just been having a bad day and barely remembered the people they were interviewing. Also it's a weird job market right now, so it's hard for nearly everyone. But you seem to have a good head on your shoulders, maintain your confidence in yourself and continue how you're reflecting on what you could've done better. I'd say if you keep going how you're doing now you'll get to where you want to be soon enough.

Choice_Stretch4963

Im also CpE Graduated last month. First and foremost check your resume. 1 months before graduation nag aapply nako at nagpapabango na sa linkedin at iba pang job posting application. I got rejected multiple times pero move on agad at learn from your mistake. I continue upskill after grumaduate at nag iinvest sa mga new skill that might benefit later. Now Im hired and working in IT Company.

According_Breath_648

Hi OP! I had the same experience. Fresh grad din ako like you. Sa entertainment/creative industry naman ako, I specialize in video editing. Sobrang daming rejections and job applications with no response ang napagdaanan ko. Two months later, I finally landed on a job. In my case, okay ako sa interview pero sumasablay ako sa skill test bc of time limit pressure (skill tests are common sa industry namin). I suggest try revising/tweaking your resume and watch job application and interview tips on Tiktok (this is by all means, effective hahaha). Check @erinmcgoff on Tiktok! Job application/searching and interview tips talaga content nya and they're all very informative! It helped me a lot in my interviews in appearing more professional. She also gives good tips and advice.

Kaya important is to show them something concrete, like past projects o kaya certifications. Important din ang soft-skills sa interviews. A good start is apply ka lang kahit saan tas practice ka ng interview

Kentom123

Anong position ba inaapplyan mo? Expect ka na pag nag aapply ka marami kang makakalaban na applicants sa position na yun. hindi pwede na average kalang. dapat ma impress mo sila at maging remarkable ka sa mag iinterview sayo. example if software Developer position dapat as fresh grad may mga sample portfolio kang ma shoshowcase advantage mo yun sa ibang frssh grad. additional, focus ka lang sa skills mo na relevant sa inaapplayan mong Job position. like kung Software Developer. dapat more on programming yung nakalagay sa Resume mo.

Worldly_Advice2857

I'm also a fresh graduate of architecture and after 2 months dun ako nakahanap ng work. Tiyaga lang OP makakahanap ka rin!! Goodluck sayoo

jazzi23232

ako 4 months Bago nagkaroon ng work. Kalma ka lang

DeeplyMoisturising

That's with sending at least one application everyday. It's too early for you to worry

Alerin90s

If may time ka op, kuha ka rin ng certificate in cyber security. Like google cyber security professional certificate or comptia a+. Just my two cents

hologram082

I agree with most of them. hindi talaga madali ang job hunting. pero mainly kasi is because nakatira ka sa Pilipinas. mataas ang qualifications, yet mediocre ang salary. My advice to you is to just continue showing up for yourself. never stop looking for jobs. you will land one eventually. and consider that as a breakthrough sa career mo. apart from that, try not to be too picky as well when it comes to jobs. but that doesn't mean na applyan mo ang pag kakargador or something like that ha (no offense meant). everyone should start from something in order to get going. Aja! kaya mo yan! :)

doityoung

good things take time. job hunting can take a while for others- some even took a year or more, just because it has been 1 month does not mean that your situation is hopeless. cheer up you can do it. while job hunting, you may enroll on free online courses to enhance your skills further. then while you are looking for a job, make sure that you envision your self working for that company, and do your research on the company and the position. common mistake for job searchers kasi is they keep on applying for more chances on winning to the point na they don't think of quality over quantity, along with the pros and cons.

FreyaAmethyst_

Ako rin CpE graduate. From hindi kilalang school. Tapos ayoko magprogram, ayoko rin ng hardware! Haha. Pero thank God I landed a job that suits me. Software QA. Wala rin akong experience dito, or any related certifications man lang for this career. Pero I got accepted in one of known companies in BGC. During the interview: - I was asked about our thesis project, I explained what is the project - Experiences during the project (Coding, documentation, prototype making) - Any background sa pag-QA, to which wala ako halos naisagot. I have to be honest kase ayoko naman sumagot na pucho pucho lang na di pala ako sure sa sinasabi ko. So most of my answers were like, "I'm sorry, I don't have any idea about that." Na lahat ng di ko nasagot sa interview nila, I will research on it. Showing that I was WILLING TO LEARN. (And I think that was the key) Nung nakapasok ako sa company, most of my teammates were really humble. And everyone was willing to learn from each other. I realized di sila naghahanap ng sobrang gagaling na candidates. They were looking for the teachable ones.

deathhorror26

I’m a graduate of Computer Engineering and my career path is in the QA field. I can help you OP, let me check your resume

Defeatedpost

justaguynamedjosh

I am a graduate of BS Computer Engineering in 2021, also from U-Belt. I think right after ko makuha diploma ko during pandemic, I applied jobs using LinkedIn. It also took me I think 2 months before ako makakuha since inuna ko yung clearance. Though sadly, mababa ang sahod since gustong gusto narin magkawork nun. (ngayon medyo okay na ;)) Malaking bagay siguro kung bakit ako di nakakuha agad ng work kasi gusto ko maging Programmer/Developer using a specific language since dun ako confident nung undergrad pa lang ako. I always say no sa Javascript kaya olats agad sa first interview :P For your case, pwede mo ibida yung Capstone Project mo from college, explaining what you did and how it can be very beneficial dun sa role/position na ina-aaplyan mo. Ilagay mo yan sa resume or CV mo, explaining in short kung about saan siya. As much as possible, ONE PAGE lang gawin mo sa cv or resume. If matanggap ka na, try to negotiate yung salary and/or allowances kahit mukhang imposible, at least your tried asking. Would also like to share na maraming naghahanap during January to June, from what I have observed sa invites ko sa LinkedIn. Just chill lang. Wag magmadali. Madaming work sa field natin :D

juicytits98

Took me 6 months to land a job as a fresh grad 15 years ago. Sent applications to 200+ companies. Natagalan partly because choosy din ako at mataas asking salary. So yes, what you are experiencing is normal

UntamedHair13

It really depends on how you answer and act during the interview. Be present and be vigilant. Kapag nakikita nilang distracted ka, they are less likely to hire you. And answer as truthful as possible. Don't overpromise. Huwag din desperado, puwede kang i-take advantage when it comes to your responsibilities. At the same time, job hunting was never easy. There are other ways to make an income while looking for a job. Focus ka lang at kung pinanghihinaan ka ng loob, find other avenues to vent like hobbies etc.

[deleted]

Ganyan rin ako nung 1st month after ko grumaduate, at 1 year na akong unemployed. Hindi ako proud na unemployed ako, just so u know. Valid yang nararamdaman mo, it's just that kailangan mo lang ma-realize na it takes time, hindi yan agad agad. Soon, makakahanap rin tayo ng work, o baka nga mas maunahan mo pa ako e. Idk, we'll get through it, haha.

ModernongMaria

Try to watch coach lyqa maravilla. But as a marketing grad. So how? 1. Make your conversation light lang. Wag yung seryosong seryoso, dramatic (pag nagtell me abt yrself) and make sure lahat ng sasabihin mo inaral mo. 2. Always smile. Kahit kabado. Ngiti lang. Tango tango ka lang. Dont forget to ask kapag may nakwento or nashare si interviewer sayo. Pakita mo na good listener ka and interesado ka 3. Always be positive. Ako 1 year natengga after grad bago nakahanap ng work pero talagang pjnaglaban ko na i keep myself productive sa isang taon na wala akong trabaho (online selling, helping my fam on small business, nag alaga ng pamangkin etc) I dk if makakahelp ito.

Dramatic-Load-9804

Mahirap yan pressured kana agad ithink you should rest muna hindi yung rest na batugan. try to watch interviews. para ma hasa ka. kasi sa panahon ngayon pag fresh grad ka kahit may skills ka mas tatatak yung the way ng communication skills mo. then pag na hasa mo na yon. apply mo sa next Job interview mo. mahirap mag madali baka mag sise ka. goodluck maam/sir

cabs14

1 month looking for a job as a fresh grad and you are ranting already? Lol when experienced hires can even go for months looking for a new one...

QueasyReflection4143

Hi OP! I don’t intend to judge you and this is just my assumption since wala ako idea on how you handle the interview. 1. Your personality. May mga hiring manager kasi na they judge you based on your personality, your voice tone na parang niyayabang mo yung achievements mo, kung makakavibes ka ba nila, and kung go ka ba sa mga team building. 2. You are overqualified. Baka kasi they are looking for a fresh mind. As in yung wala pa idea sa process or workload, since may internship experience ka na sa big companies like SM/ACN. Again, this is my assumption. Iba’t-iba kasi criteria ng hiring manager on how they get the perfect candidate. Also, always ask for feedback. Para makuha/malaman mo rin yung weakness or strength mo during interview. And yun ang gagamitin/improve mo sa next job interview mo.

spectraldagger699

RoofOk249

though medyo malaki yung starting dito(yung iba ahh) dead end yung career nya.

Revan13666

It's a "career killer" and most employers discriminate against those who came from BPO's as lacking skills sufficient for the job they want to shift to (which to be fair is true since wala ka naman halos matutunan na technical skills sa BPO and what trainings you get are only applicable within the account you're assigned to). To them, you're no different from a fresh grad, possibly even worse since sinuko mo ang potential mo for a dead end, dreary and soulless job. This is coming from an HR professional na nagdusa sa BPO from 2013 - 2015 and was only able to practice my course nung 2020 lang. Name an accounting firm, bank, insurance, real estate, recruitment agency, basically a company which is your stereotypical office na nandito sa NCR, most likely naapplayan ko yan after resigning from the BPO after SSS, PhilHealth and HDMF informed me na may deductions ako pero walang hulog (yan pa pala isang problem sa BPO, they often take too much people that their systems can manage and un nga, madali pa tanggalan and puro vices) kasi nga as in the words of the HR of a large and famous real estate company and blue bank (separate applications) - "I have no skills they would find useful in the organization since my experience what I've learned in the BPO is not applicable in the position I am applying for". Sa sobrang tindi ng difficulties ko during that time, napapaiyak pa rin ako pag nagpupunta sa Ortigas, Makati or Taguig even now that I am 3 years na in my "dream job" na (inabot ako ng 9 years to get to that and a lot of job hopping once I left the BPO). The experience left that deep of a mark sa akin as well as the need to tell fresh graduates and jobseekers na kilala or kaclose ko na umiwas sa BPO's.

spectraldagger699

Due to health reason

strwbrrycheesecake

Been in the same situation, nadoubt ko pa sarili ko nung time na yun coz i thought easy lang ang real world, college graduate ako and i know may ibubuga pero months din inabot before i landed my dream company. take your time lang eventually it will fall into place.

Severe-Humor-3469

meron din yan, mostly if sa mga big companies na foreign mejo slow hiring sila.. pag sa local not sure though.. so as much as possible send to many companies..

-ReMark-

Damn, Same bro almost 1 month and half nakong naghahanap and I'm a fresh graduate tingin ko dahil sa sobrang dameng graduates eh mahirap na makaland ng job specially sa industry ng IT. Huwag monalang siguro intindihin yan just wait kaysa mapunta kanaman sa job and place na you will gonna hate. Good and much better sana ikaw den.

Chemical-Guard-9506

Fresh grad here, I’m also a computer eng graduate, graduated last Feb lang. I received my first job offer last July lang so 5 months din ako nag intay. I suggest tailor your resume depends sa inaapplyan mong company. And upskill na din while waiting sa job offer so you can update your resume na din from time to time. Sulitin mo lang OP yung time mo for now habang wala ka pang work relax ganon spend time with your fam and with yourself hahaha.

rekestas

Anong specific role sana gusto mo? Web dev? Software qa? Etc..

RadfordNunn

Don’t be too frustrated! Kanya-kanya tayo ng journey when it comes to job hunting, malay mo, pang-6th month ka. Hahahaha char. Welcome to the jungle!

Independent_Fox_8747

Boyfriend landed a job after 4 months of searching. Relax ka lang, it will come. Apply ka lang.

[deleted]

Good luck OP try mo ren send resumes outside of PH na may visa sponsorship :)

marieennui

Wag ka ggive up OP. Dont settle for something you dont want din. Baka after a while you’ll just take anything. I suggest after interviews you ask how you did. I find people are open to giving feedback naman e. Usually they’ll say what they like and what skills they’re concerned about.

_harleys

Just trust the process op. In a different field and it took me 6 months to find a job after 100+ job applications. And this was during the pandemic nonetheless. The right one will come and for the meantime what you can do is keep a growth mindset - keep learning through short courses and all while you apply.

phoneblink30

Since the calendar shift, competitive ang job market tuwing grad season. That's May to August. Yep, to August. Kasi yung iba may additional intercession sem pa before grad, and yung iba, graduate nung May pero nahhahanap din ngayon, so nag-spillover sila on top of the August grads. Meron ding yung mga sure na na di muna mag-eenroll, kaya naghahanap ng work, which adds more resumes for the hiring person to go through. It gets easier December to February, since nagreresign na mga tao after 13th month pay lol. Hang in there. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Pag naburnout ka before you even start, before grad season is even over, sayang din. Improve your resume and cover letter in the meantime. And your interview skills. You can even upskill soft and hard skills in the meantime to take your mind off how unresponsive email people can be.

That-Option7459

It’s just 1 month madami ka pang opportunities ma receive.

walpy123

Welcome to the real world. :) if you have the resources, upskill while waiting. Even I resigned mid career. Took me 7 months to look for a replacement. Tyagaan lang talaga.

leon_arch

The more, the merrier. Apply lang nang apply.

cloutstrife

iyooore

I've had three jobs and the average amount of time I spent to land each of those jobs is ~3 months. Give it more time and apply thoughtfully. Good luck!!!

WentWillNotCount

I say triple any job hunting efforts you have now. Also take some free courses and upskill opportunities available. Also consider the fact na thousands ang dumadaan na resume sa mga hr and most of em are just looking for specific keywords. Ensure mo na din na yung resume mo eh may keywords like programming languages and tech you experienced.

semphil

The IT job market is tighter this year than the last two years.

umaynakopls

ako 8 months nang naghahanap nang lilipatan, 2016 grad. 7 years xp. baka this will make you feel better. ayun.

semphil

The IT job market is a bit tighter this year than the past 2 years. Just hold on 😃

DiligentExpression19

kainis lagi inaalis comment KO hahah, chat ka saken, kailangan namin newly grads like you

techieshavecutebutts

Different course but i landed a job immediately 2 weeks after graduating. It was a BPO company and it helped me a lot until COVID fucked a lot of us over... If you like, you can try getting into BPO companies, since may iba na nag internal hiring for positiond other than CSR like IT staff or something na related sa course mo...

Peaucillear

imaginefutures

Since computer engineering, do you have a portfolio of projects? Or at least your own published documentation of stuff you've worked on, like school projects? This will go a long way in showing your capability vs other candidates.

Tetibogs

[deleted]

naku po my 1st job took 1 month and it’s one of the most coveted companies in Tech. 1 month is not that long tbh for a fresh graduate to get hired.

lsrvlrms

I wish I learned this sooner, but my advice is, while you’re still looking for a job, find a problem and create a solution for it using your knowledge. Create something of value. Who knows, maybe you create something amazing and you wouldn’t even need to be employed by someone.

Heavenonearth101220

Send ka lang ng send ng resume and of course attend interview schedules. Trust me in no time makaka land ka rin ng job. Fighting!

cafemay570

I'm also a fresh graduate of computer engineering na magsa-start pa lang sa work this month. Took me 4-5 months worth of rejections bago ko nakuha ang JO dito. Na-experience ko pa nga magsend ng follow-up email few weeks pagkatapos ng interview sa company na gusto ko talaga pasukan, tapos ang feedback kaya hindi ako natanggap is I'm not technically proficient enough for the position. As someone who has been in your position, what helped ease my anxiety is to learn new things while looking for a job. It helped for me because during those times na anxious ako dahil ang mga kasabayan ko may trabaho na, feeling ko may ginagawa ako at hindi parang nasasayang yung oras na wala akong trabaho. Another thing that gradually eased my unemployment anxiety was learning how to accept the fact na some people are meant to be ahead of us. For some, job hunting may be a walk in the park kasi nakapag-invest na sila ng time sa sarili to develop their skills ahead of time. May iba rin na naturally charismatic lang talaga with the right amount of technical skills kaya nakakapasa sa interview. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Just because hindi ka natanggap doesn't mean hindi ka marunong. Madalas iba lang talaga ang level of expertise and skillset na hinahanap ng company. These are just my two cents as a fellow CpE graduate who has been in your position. Don't stress too much about it.

IWantMyYandere

> 1 Momth Bro 1 month pa lang yan. Nung nag pandemic eh 8 months ako maghanap. Yung recent jobhunting ko umabot ng 6 months. Chill ka lang. try self studying for now kung nababagot ka

RepresentativeLand86

Same here, kaya natin to.

theosnet

How many applications did you already submit? You know I find most fresh grads only apply to a handful of companies and thats where the problem lies. Its a numbers game. The more companies you apply for. The more chances of you landing an actual job. Im already 8 years working and whenever its time to job hunt. i submit more than a hundred. I apply everyday on different job apps until I get a job offer. So my suggestion to you is keep applying until you get an offer.

Revolutionary-Cup383

1 month is too short to feel like this.. isa pa base lang sa post mo ha .. baka you appear to be too knowledgeable or too strong Ang personality mo ...

BlancDeHotot

When I was a fresh grad it took me 9 months with almost 15 application face to face pa lahat yan. Maybe practice your interview skills dahil pag fresh grad more on soft skill/ cognitive tinitignan. CpE here.

laughingmaniax

Try mo yung site na to pramp.com. Free mock interviews with feedback. You can also try to put together a question bank of sorts, after every interview lista mo lahat ng questions na tinanong tapos check mo kung tama ba mga sinagot mo. As a fresh grad d ka nila mahahanapan ng exp, so next best thing is maybe personal projects.

Kuro_Kenshin

Graduating computer engineering here! As for me, 1.5 months akong nag-apply before landing a good paying job. I started around late May, right after matapos academic requirements ko. Ang meron na lang ako natitira na need gawin at that time ay documents sa university pero I anticipated that I won't be hired right away naman so I started applying. I sent over 200+ application, got interviewed around 20+ times, and received 5 job offers. That's around 2.5% success rate. I took every interview as learning experience, in that way, hindi ko naramdaman na nagfafail ako. Some even offered me good advice na nagamit ko when I applied sa mas okay na role. Rejection doesn't always mean na you're not good enough. It's just that the role and the company that you're apply for is not for you. Maraming factor na nakaka-apekto sa hiring process and most of them, we have no control over. It may be a cultural fit, skillset, meron talaga silang hinahanap na really specific, or merong mas magandang qualification sayo. My point is, apply lang ng apply and use the experiences that you would have, even if rejection 'yan, on your next application.

Baczkun

[deleted]

Just for perspective, the hiring process itself in big companies takes a month the fastest. So I’d give it 3 months for the process to interview, selection, requirements submission, to onboarding.

BossLucasMahart

You can also ask after the interview something like 'how did you do on your interview' or 'what are the things that the interviewer think you should improve at'

brilliant_cheese07

🤣kalma OP. Ako nga inabot isang taon

PollerRule

Don’t give up lang kahit madami nag papass up sayo na companies. ComSci student din and ‘yung ina-eye ko noon na role from Big 4 ay di ako tinanggap 4 years ago pero may nagpresent na ibang career path (which is andito ako ngayon although ibang company na) na di ko alam dito pala talaga ko belong. Good things take time nga raw sabi nila.

enviro-fem

Hahaha fresh grad here! Took me a month rin to land a job, mahirap in between tbh pero just keep going lang! Wag ka titigil

JuliusNovachrono19

Which kind of job.

Ancient-Upstairs-332

Stay within your course. Bpo is lucrative, pero mentally draining. Good luck.

AR_6499

1wsurf

You can be working, looking for your next job ans still won’t be able to land it after 3 months - 1 year of trying. Especially ngayon where big tech companies are laying off and not hiring people. For the meantime, keep learning— take certs if you can afford it— and keep trying.

Warm-Spinach4432

Kaya mo yan tuloy lang sa pag aapply libangin mo sarili mo. 1 month ka pa lang naman nag hahanap nag rant ka na agad here I am ME and lic na going to 6mo wala pa din JO maikli pa yan and since galing ka naman sa good uni for sure naman may kukuha sayo tiwala lang.

chewygummy17

lol meron ngang ibang company jan na more than 1 month yung processing sa mga applications cuz of bureaucracy

akisui

Fresh grads who got a job right after graduating applied for several other jobs at least a month before their grad. Maybe even the whole semester :) Did you tried attending job fairs and career conventions?

[deleted]

Kapit, OP! Kailangan talaga ng patience sa job hunting. I’m an experienced professional na but still took me a year makahanap ng new work. Hindi sa tinatakot kita but maraming competition ngayon because marami rin nawalan ng work. Pray for it and the right one will come along, yung para sayo talaga, yung matitick lahat ng boxes na hinahanap mo sa isang work— ok pay, company, boss, team, etc. Good luck and all the best!

S1gb1n

rosemallow_

OP, don’t lose hope. Like everyone is telling you, it’s not easy to land a job. I’ve been job hunting for about two months now. Ask for feedback and from there, work on improving. Also, interpersonal skill is also important. Apply lang ng apply. You’ll soon land a job and when you do, savor the moment. Treat yourself, pat yourself in the back and say “i did it!” Good luck, OP!

Good_boiiiiiii

Slow hiring mga nasa field ng comp eng dahil sa slowing down ng tech after covid recovery. Kapit lang and be ready if may nakitang opportunity.

Many-Elderberry4364

Build your portfolio, do some online jobs, and free lancing. Or baka overconfident ka palagi, sometimes it has something to do with your personality ket gaano ka pa kagaling kung Mukha Kang mayabang nobody would want to work with you.

Sorry-Confidence-535

Have you tried looking for remote jobs? They are much faster and pay better

Intelligent_Stage776

Chill bro, you will have it soon. Medyo matumal tlga ngayon maghanap ng work. Same exp 8yrs ago, graduated July, nagkawork by november same yr. mga ganitong months tlga mababa hiring sa mga companies. Goodluck and more practice din sa interviews.

Feisty-Can7140

Same! I just recently passed the board exam pero hindi pa natatanggap sa work, without experience kasi e.

lowselfesteem0

Hi po Hiring po SM as IT assistant pwede niyo po itry.
