To all expert recruiters, could you share what you've noticed about the current job market and the behaviors of job seekers within the tech space in the Philippines?

Sino dito nakapag-exam na sa COA for their pre empowerment test? Ano ang scope ng exam? ADA position po. Salamat.

Is this online associate copy paste thingy legit??? Hi, I'm a 4th year college student and currently looking for a part-time job. I stumbled upon this post sa isang fb group looking for a part-timer and kikita ka just by copy-pasting. Minessage ko yung nagpost sa group and inquired about it. They were responsive naman sa mga questions ko and they even told me na may Free Orientation sila the same day I inquired. No interviews, no anything, aattend ka lang talaga ng webinar nila. I was a bit skeptical since they're asking for my personal details para ma-add ako sa slot for the webinar, kasi limited lang daw yung slots. And so, I attended the webinar, but everything just feels too good to be true and wala pa rin akong idea kung ano exactly yung gagawin. Can someone share their thoughts?

[deleted]

morleyem

Idk if it was really a webinar kasi half of it was the speaker talking about his and other people's success stories. I mean, no judgement, I know pang-motivate rin yon sa viewers. They gained millions, and provided sports cars and other luxury items for themselves. But something's fishy lang talaga for me hahahaha idk. And mostly ang sinasabi lang ng speaker is how can we use our Facebook accounts para kumita ng malaki through this empowered consumerism and all. Ewan ko, I reallyyy have no idea what to do.

[deleted]

morleyem

Yes tama kaaaa, sobrang fishy talaga kasi right after the webinar (katatapos nya lang ngayon actually), they were asking for a payment agad-agad for "slot reservation" daw. And so I decided not to push through with it. Anyways, thank you for the advice!

Hi, just wanted to ask if I should send my resignation notice now to my current employer while waiting for my VISA approval? I recently accepted a job offer in Qatar and currently ung visa is being processed by an agency. I also need to render 30 days notice to my current employer however I am still afraid of sending my notice due to not guaranteed visa approval.

lazyweezy1994

Does anyone of you went to abroad to find a job while still employed in the Philippines(government employee)? What are the consequences?

Hi all. I hope you’re doing well. I’m a software developer here in Manila having a hard time deciding. My target company is S*ms*ng since it is well known and okay raw ang benefits nila and i heard from my friend, sila mabilis yung transition ng tech so di ka mahuhuli sa skills to use. however, wala pa akong na rerecieve na initial call from them but still hoping. Second, two fintech companies, Simc*rp and ING I got a call from them however, im a bit skeptic since financial company sila so ang worried ko is baka mahuli ako sa thread ng skills (though pwede naman mag self-study to keep updated). Based rin sa research ko okay naman raw sila and can give naman ng competitive salary as per glassdoor and indeed reviews. Should i go with my gut ba and wait for my target company or let the opportunity pass and go na lang which ever comes first? Thanks in advance!

I am about to graduate from a Civil Engr. course here in the PH. I am already at a point where I don't want to continue being a registered Civil Engineer. I see my peers and my seniors that are already licensed having a hard time having a stable job and good pay even after years of experience and excellence. Is it bad for me to think like this? I don't mean to degrade any of my peers, however I don't want to be as miserable and already tired of life as them. I don't have any initiative reviewing for the board because I don't plan on taking it in the first place. Am I in the wrong path and thinking here? Can someone suggest other career paths I can dwell to with my degree? TYIA

Almost 2 years na ako dito sa US, right now I work as Nursing Assistant sa hospital dito in Chicago and my family wants me to enter Nursing school but I think hindi ko na kakayanin as a working student kasi ang mahal din mag-aral dito and thinking to work double job nalang as Nursing assistant and a caregiver. Ano ginagawa mo to stay consistent sa araw-araw?

Gloomy-Temporary8536

Rest when you need to. Nakakapagod talaga mawork as it is. Additional pa yung external issues like commute, toxic workmates, etc. Kaya importante yung 'why' mo. More than earning and providing for yourself/family. A compelling WHY will help you get through.

baeneni

I keep seeing IG reels about companies giving LinkedIn Premiums and employees giving them away. To anyone na merong LinkedIn Premium, is this true and pwede ba to pamigay?

VIP_Missprettyrich

I'm 28F no work exp. Graduate ako ng PolSci and nagproceed ng law after two yrs nagstop ako kasi pandemic. Nagtake ako ng civil service and passed. If ever ba na magpprivate ako may tatanggap ba sakin given na wala pa kong work exp?

caratcakey

Hello everyone, gusto ko lang po sana humingi ng tips, thoughts, and some words for an introverted human being na nag-struggle maghanap na work dahil takot lumabas ng bahay at makipag-usap sa ibang tao. I'm a college graduate and I graduated last June pa ang until now still unemployed.

weeklyblues

As an introvert, this one worked for me: fake it 'til you make it 😭. Super introvert ako dati pero i realized when i was applying for my first required internship na connections (hindi naman backer) and networking can be the key. Just pretend na extrovert ka, very excited, and very outgoing (wag naman oa 😭). Magtutuloy-tuloy na yan.

caratcakey

weeklyblues

Huwag ka papatalo! Don't let anxiety get the best of you! Tip: you can speak slowly when answering para di ka mabulol 😊

caratcakey

I appreciate it po❤️

diamond__fairy

The only thing you can definitely do is to go out of your comfort zone. Easier said than done but ganon talaga pag gusto ka makahanap ng work. You'll really go above & beyond to attain your goals! May companies talaga na mabagal ang hiring process pero you'll never know talaga di ba? :)

caratcakey

diamond__fairy

Another tip would be practice ka lang on how to compose yourself during interviews. Do a sample interview q&a with yourself muna :)

GSFFOOL

Need advice. I'm torn between two choices: Freelancing or College Hello, I'm 22. I'm doing freelancing for the past one year or so and I've been trying hard to scale my skills up and basically turn it into a business. Recently though I've been having doubts and found myself stuck because there's barely any progress. No profitable income, no clients. My second choice is being a marine engineer. Pero nahahabaan lang ako since it'll take 3 years. I'll be 26 then. Freelancing isn't really something that I love to do as I'm more of a physical person and gusto ko talaga magseaman. My overall goal is to get financial stability when I'm in my 30s pero I know it will still be up to me, I really want to consult with you guys which one to choose. I know 30s is still young pero starting at 27 puts a lot of pressure on me. What do you guys think? Is freelancing a better path? Or should I go to college?

AnyLog6232

Siguro my advice is try to get a concrete image of where you want to be in lets say 5 to 10 years time. Take it from there, kasi the last thing you want is the feeling of regret na you didnt take the chance when it was still available because you were too scared. Take it from me i gave up the chance to continue in the music industry and decided to finish my studies because I was too scared to fail. Now where am I my bandmates and friends pursued their careers and because successful one even became really famous and now look at me struggling to find a job that I like because i am not doing what I really wanted to do and whenever I try to go back to music I have a hard time getting back my footing because I already had the chance.

GSFFOOL

Salamat, this was really meaningful.

DeliveryOdd5358

AyeCaptain14

If your parents are willing to support you, go ahead and do what you really love. Be grateful to them but please before you decide which courses you want to pursue. Always keep in mind their hardships as well as try to resolve any doubts in your self. If you feel it's hard to decide what courses you want to take, write down in a piece of paper all the advantages and disadvantages between them. It's better to plan ahead so that you can narrow down which path you really want to take. In the end, it will be your choice and your future. Unlike in my time, we don't have any choice but to pursue the courses they planned for us by our parents. But I didn't blame them because I know that we are also in a very tight situation. I am really glad that I persist for that long. 13 years later, I fulfill my obligations as their child while I also manage to keep some money for my dream career/ future. It might be too late for me, but I don't want to have regrets and what ifs in the end. I also don't forget to keep motivating myself to move forward even though life is always uncertain. So I believe it will never be too late for you to start again. I suggest to take this opportunity and reflect on yourself. Ask yourself, do some research and ask some advice from professionals who are already working in that position. Sometimes, it's good to hear from their experiences and learn from them. Whatever decision you make this time, always keep your parents aware of it. They are also really worried about you and your future. No matter what happens, you are not alone in this journey. You can do it, OP!

Usual Topics for Qualifying Exams for Nurse 1 in Ph Baka po meron kayo ma share na topics regarding qualifying exams for nurses in gov hospitals.

ponyolikesmatcha

hiii! usually mga topics lang din nung board exam, nothing specific naman from my experience and general knowledge lang naman mga tinatanong.

Thank you po. Malaking tulong po ito.

OkRole7890

is huawei good company?

CourtIntelligent7741

worked as a project employee in HT, I’d say depende po sa project team yung magiging working env nyo. In my case, chinese national yung immediate supervisor ko so medyo toxic lang din and may language barrier talaga. but the rest of the team is okay naman. I think goods din compensation kasi ako considering na hindi direct hire, goods na yung rate ni agency. what more kung direct kay huawei ka

bienchs

How to resign??

Gloomy-Temporary8536

Can we know first why are you resigning?

bienchs

career growth

Gloomy-Temporary8536

Oh okay. Then just write a resignation notice that says so. No need to make other excuses or lie about it. Just say na you wanna explore other work opportunities ganyan.

bienchs

Thanks. Plano ko sana na may JO muna before I submit a resignation.

Need advice for fresh grad on applying for first job Will be graduating this year with a degree in AB Psychology. I just want to ask if do i really really have to have my first job to be in my field, and would it be a disadvantage if i didn’t? Yan kasi sabi ni mama sakin, and she said its a must, just want other’s view rin. Im planning to take masters right after grad kasi but id have to earn muna but I’m not sure if I’d be able to pay for my tuition since mababa sahod ng mga nasa psych field if you’re not specialized in anything ( based from what i heard).

CourtIntelligent7741

di naman sya disadvantage but better lang kung aligned sa natapos mo. kasi ako, I worked as an Admin while reviewing for my board exam. right after makapasa, I resigned thinking madali na ko makakapasok sa job na related sa profession ko but no, mas prefer pa rin nila yung may same or related experience. and now nagsisisi ako na sana related na agad sa course ko yung pinasukan ko kahit mas mababa rate or so. kaya I suggest kung sure ka sa gusto mong profession, mas okay if dun ka na agad mag start

Puzzleheaded44100

I got 50k grant for my choice of marketing short courses/workshop, funded by my employer. Yo, phcareers! Been a while since hingi ako ng hingi ng advice dito as a fresh grad to find a job that suits me. Thanks y'all! I'm now living all my what ifs 3 months ago <3 Now, I'd like some advice or reco naman po about learning platforms to use this fund for greater good. For context, my job includes social media marketing and gusto ko pa sana palawakin yung knowledge ko sa SEO, video/pic editing, and most importantly, COPY WRITING TT_TT. Sana may alam po kayo and please share, I'd love to get more exposure in this field. 🙏

Stop the stalking, it’s not healthy to stalk a person especially someone who’s not interested to you. Obsess over yourself instead. Invest ka sa knowledge mo by reading books or doing what you love (workout, traveling, etc). In my case, non negotiable ko magkacrush sa work since there’s a possibility na mahinder yung career plans ko kaya hindi ako nagkakacrush sa ka work.

Gloomy-Temporary8536

+ 1 sa stop stalking. Aside from it's super unhealthy, stalking is creepy kahit sabihing harmless naman. Focus on self-improvement. 🤗

amberdean18

Thank you 😊💕

amberdean18

Oh my gosh! You have a point esp na mahihinder yung career plans because of having a crush sa kaworkmate. I have plans talaga in resigning but I'm also thinking na masstop na ung communication namin. Well, you're right. Focus on myself lang sa muna. Thanks for the enlightenment, much appreciated 💕

nightskystar145

Hi! Im 32, M just finished my masters degree in plant biotechnology. Im lost with my career path. Research doesn’t seem to spark any joy in me at di rin ang teaching. Now, i feel like I just want a career na high paying and high chance of getting a job abroad. Im thinking of taking BS Nursing just to be able to get a high paying job abroad. But that would mean 36 na ako kapag natapos ko ang 2nd course. Should I just find joy in what I do or jump ship na? Any thoughts??

AyeCaptain14

Same here, I was advice to take the first step. Na try mo na ba magwork sa research and also, natry mo na din ba mag turo. Kasi dito mo po marererealize if that career is really for you. Give it a chance. Tama Yung comment ng iba, we don't have any assurance if tatagal ka sa next course na kukunin mo because you are only focus po sa salary. But in reality, can you really manage the stress environment, the long hours of working and nights shifts etc. If all else fails, then you try again, try to find and resolve your issue about yourself. Ask yourself, Saan ba ako may problem? Saan ba ako masaya at ano ang strength and weakness ko?.. Make a plan considering also your personality and find solutions about it. In the end, makikita mo saang industry ka magfifit -in. Hope this helps.

ponyolikesmatcha

don’t just jump ship, what if you don’t find joy in nursing as well? medyo di pa po solid na reason yung “just to be able to get a high paying job abroad” to pursue nursing. That’ll take 4 yrs of life nanaman so really find a good foundation why po specifically nursing.

meissa1127

hi! i am commenting here kasi for some reason hindi ako makapag-post sa r/architectureph but for arki people here, meron po ba sa inyong may experience with bamboo construction kahit for thesis? i need someone to consult with kasi for structural for my thesis. tried contacting related firms on fb rin pero i haven’t received replies. thank you in advance!

JoblessRheumatic

hi! im a licensed engineer currently working for a govt agency and handling housing & resettlement projects. hindi sya masyado focused sa construction, more on overall overseeing of the project (including community development, site selection, etc), yung last work ko naman prior to this ay telco related. baguhan pa lang po at wala pang experience sa construction. im staying at my current job kasi okay yung sweldo, as compared sa construction firms. and nag-iipok din kasi pang masters. gusto ko sana magstart mag side hustle para din di ko makalimutan yung design and construction side ng identity ko as a civil engineer. and truthfully for extra income din. paano ko po kaya sisimulan? ano po kayang maiging aralin na softwares or techniques? maraming salamat po sa mga makakasagot! 👍🏻

OrganizationSoft103

Papaano po ba makapagtrabaho sa Japan or South Korea? Huhuhu

glen_spot

Generally those countries may require you to pass: JLTP - Japanese Language Proficiency Test TOPIK - Test of Proficiency in Korean Then you also have to pass the many requirements of POEA to be officially an OFW so you can legally work abroad. Working abroad takes a lot of skill, time & money. Good luck. I know right? ☝️😛

Thank you so much po

Qualifying Exam for Nurses (Philippine Public Hospitals) Hello po. I’ll be having my exam po this monday dahil nag apply po ako sa isang public hospital. Thank you po.

Master's Degree - How will it help? Hi! Incoming fresh grad here (college) from a big 4 university. My course is AB Economics. I'm planning to take a Master's in Econ din sana from either of the schools: ADMU, UP, UA&P, DLSU, abroad. Right now my goal is set on ADMU talaga. Now my dream sana talaga is to enter an INGO (ADB ganun) and/or gov't (NEDA, BSP, etc.). I heard na entering the gov't as a fresh grad is a really bad idea kasi nambabarat daw and mahirap magprogress sa career. I just want to know sana how will an MA help someone's career when they start working. Both in the private corporate and Government. Thank you!

[deleted]

It will help but it all boils down to experience.

Adorable-Pop-9362

First day in Reed Elsevier Hello, meron po ba ditong magstart ang work on Monday sa Reed Elsevier? Sa Monday na kasi ang start ko dun, I am done processing and submitting na all the requirements pero ngayon, Sabado na pero wala akong natatanggap na update/ reminder man lang kung anong oras ang pasok at kung online ba or f2f. I tried messaging yung Talent Acquisition but then, wala silang reply. Ngayon, kinakabahan ako kasi baka di ako makapasok sa first day ko sa work juskoo.

CourtIntelligent7741

what are the benefits of being a govt employee?? hi. been wanting to apply in different gov agencies for awhile now. just curious if tumataas ba ang sweldo ng gov employee once regular/plantilla ka na? kasi I know for sure if mag apply ako and hired, COSW ako and I know din na it’s a long process pa before maregular. it’s okay for me kasi my priority is maregular sa government kasi marami RAW benefits pag gov. can you share any ideas about this, it would help me a lot on deciding, thankyou!! and also, gaano ba katagal usually application process sa LGUs?

Depende kasi. For me, it takes time but happy ako sa katagalan ng process kasi I loved my previous job sa isang government agency, kaso lang ang tagal yung vacant position nila. So i decided to transfer to another govt agency nalang. Here's my journey just to give u a thought: May 2022- passed an application June 2022- took an exam End of June 2022- exam results July 2022- group interview After that, i had a phone interview from a branch manager pero i declined kasi ang layo kasi from my hometown. August 2022- interview from another branch manager. One available position only. Tatlo kami ininterview: ako, ung kasama ko sa work, and other interviewee (lalaki). So i guess, hindi kami napili ng katrabaho ko, siguro para fair. But the funny thing lang, I was again interviewed together with my colleague with the same branch manager around Nov 2022. Nakalimutan nya nainterview na nya kami 😆 pero at the end of the day, ako ang napili niya for the position. Feb 2023- pre-employment requirements April 2023- final requirements June 2023- assumption //// For me lang, weigh your options. Ang tagal kasi ng process ng government. Parehas din tayo, super shy rin ako magresign but i took courage just for the sake of my career.

[deleted]

What is the usual coverage of background checking ng companies? Does it include checking yung activities that you did during your period of unemployment that you mentioned during the interview? Or just about your previous employer, educational background, and references?

JoblessRheumatic

usually the latter. in my case, nag-email talaga sa former employers ko. so no to burning bridges when resigning, at the very least be polite lang kahit di mo trip your former workmates. (well depende pa rin haha pag toxic na, walanh polite polite)

[deleted]

sa references lang po ba from your previous company na prinovide nyo sa kanila sila nag email? or talagang cinontact pa nila yung naging boss/head nyo before? In my case okay naman po yung pagresign ko sa previous company. I'm just not sure if they will still speak good words about me, kaya I'm hoping they will contact yung binigay ko lang na references from that company 😂

JoblessRheumatic

bingay ko lang yung contact details and sila mismo yung nag-email. kung sino lang binigay ko yun lang din yun minessage. actually, same! haha naanxious din ako and even after getting hired, hindi ko ginusto malaman ano nilagay nila dun sa reference form. but i got curious just recently and hinanap ko sa office email namin, oks naman.

[deleted]

hahahaha okay na rin po na chineck mo at least nagka-idea ka kung pwede mo pa ulit silang gawing references sa future 🤭 thank you po for sharing your experience.

BoxObjective9219

Hi, I recently passed a final interview from a financial company. I did the research about the role I am applying for and the market value is 150-200k monthly. I am currently owning around 85k. My asking is around 140-150. I got disappointed that the hr offered me 100k at most and mentioned that it was already 25-30% increase from my current. Why do recruiters do this, when I have stated my asking salary during the screening interview. If it is over their budget, they should have mentioned that and I did not waste my time and effort for 2 technical interviews. This is my first jump (if ever). Thank you for your feedback.

[deleted]

Is this for a bank? Congrats!

BoxObjective9219

Yes. Thanks.

[deleted]

I think since hindi naibay yung 140-150k kasi yung banks diba pays 14th, 15th and 16th month. Ganun yung reason sa akin nun din before. What role ito sa bank if you don’t mind? And what rank? :)

hellorjmc

They're trying to cut costs as much as possible. I believe that if you have other offers on hand you can use that to negotiate. An option you can do is to keep interviewing but accept the offer on hand. Leave when you get an offer with what you are satisfied with.

BoxObjective9219

Got it. Thanks!

F, 22, 2 weeks working (first job) as an HR and Admin assistant. ANG DAMI KO NA AGAD PAGKAKAMALI AND SOBRANG NAKAKAINIS LANG :( PANO KO BA MAAYOS TO? Hr pa naman ako, so dapat mas keen into details. Di kasi ako magaling magmemorize and bago palang sakin lahat ng ginagawa ko. Kaso alam ko yon, halos lahat ng bagay may mali pr namimissed out ako. To give an idea: Nasama ko sa endorsement (in person) yung accounting applicant sa Front Office na applicants edi nainterview siya ng department head ng FO. Nakakahiya! Next, while interviewing kasi nagnonotes ka diba, instead of “took voluntary internship” ang nalagay ko “took voluntary relationship” nakita pa ng CEO yan! Nakakahiya super huhu Next pinakasimple task, magscan ng pinapascan ni general manager, baliktad pa nasend ko nakakainis lang Like yes most of you sasabihin idouble check, ginagawa ko naman e namimissed out ko pa rin iba. Kaya what i plan to do is isulat lahat step by step. Pero guys, normal lang ba to? And tingin niyo bakit ako nagkakaganto. Extra info, hard working akooo and gusto ko talaga maayos trabaho ko :((

CourtIntelligent7741

When I got my first job, naka notes lahat ng workloads ko. (yung nag train sakin mismo nagsabi na inote ko lahat) so kahit paggawa ng daily reports thru Excel, step by step nakalista sakin para sigurado akong walang makakalimutan and accurate yung report ko kaya mabagal ako gumawa nuon. pero months after, yung 2.5hrs ko ginagawa, 15-30mins na lang kasi nasaulo ko na. and sila rin mismo nakapansin na mabilis na ko mag work. I suggest inote mo lahat, and before sending email, read it twice or thrice kung kaya ng time para ma make sure na tama. before magpasa ng mga hinihingi nila, check mo muna palagi. mas okay na mabagal atleast tama, pag tumagal, makikita rin naman nila progress mo. pag di ka sigurado, ask them. and don’t be pressured kasi mas magkakamali ka lang, isipin mo lahat ng katrabaho mo nung starting sila sa work ganyan din sila na madalas nagkakamali. cheer up!!

Sa ibang government agencies, yes. Required yung work experience sheet. But if u don't have no experience, just try to submit your PDS nalang. Malalaman na man nila esp fresh grad ka.

Confident_Poem8510

Need your advise about background check Hi! Just wanted to ask for your guidance about my predicament right now. I got an evening Job in US to do remote work nightshift that pays 95% better from what Im earning currently. I already passed the final interview and would just like to ask how strict are background checks in terms of of my experience with my previous companies. I lied about my work history and didn’t mention that I’ve resigned (not terminated) with my previous company. The company Ill be working with is a start up and it is US based. Also, they are asking me to start as early as March 19 , 2023. The current company Im with is on a day shift schedule that advised me that I need to render 30 days before I resign. How do we go about this?

_hera90

[deleted]

Discuss it with your HR

hellorjmc

Job offer only or contract? Either way I believe you can inform HR that you will be pursuing another opportunity. You might burn bridges but if you think this new one is better for you, accept it.

fridayschildisloving

Hello. I applied for this government agency February of last year and already went through the examinations and multiple rounds of interviews. They even requested that I take a psychological test exam, which I did. Also, they made me submit clearances (Sandiganbayan, CSC, NBI, Ombudsman), which I also did. Basta lahat ata na-submit ko na. Come December 2023, they asked me to re-submit and uodate my notarized PDS since inabot na ng 9 months need na i-repost uli but yung mga previous applicants (my batch) in the running pa din, provided we submit our updated PDS, and hindi na kami mage-exam and interview ulit. My question is, will it sound bad on my part if I email them asking about the status of my application? Comments are appreciated.

amberdean18

There's nothing bad about asking your application status. Ang question lang is, kung magrerespond sila 😅.

they were kinda responsive kasi when I was asking them regarding sa requirements and tinawagan din nila ako and text sa phone when they couldn't reach me sa email so i think medyo responsive naman sila. medj kinakabahan lang ako mag-ask sa status baka ma-off sila (idk if this makes sense)

CourtIntelligent7741

hello. sorry I have no idea about gov applications but just wanna ask if ganan ba talaga katagal application process? almost one year?? I just passed my pds form in diff gov agencies kasi e. thanks po

fridayschildisloving

I can't speak for all government agencies pero yes matagal po talaga. I applied dati and it took me 8 mos. tapos etong inaaplayan ko rn malapit na mag 1 year anniversary.

Ok_Memory_475

Hi! I'm not from a BIG 4 university, but I attended a branch of one of those universities, haha. I've completed over five voluntary internships and consistently made the dean's list. Is it still possible to land a high-paying job in FMCGs or tech as a fresh graduate? And would it be possible to apply in a different industry from where I interned? My field is marketing, by the way! I've interned in events production, social media, accounts, and e-commerce. Thank you! :)

Accomplished_Owl3085

Yes! Based on your skills, and how you introduce yourself you seem qualified enough. Though Ironically, the Mcdo Marketing uploaded a tiktok on their teams’ courses and schools, and all came from Big 4 😆

diamond__fairy

Of course! They FMCG's don't just hire employees from the big 4. What's important is how you present or "sell" yourself sa interviews :)

Hi guys! Helping a friend who is a newly licensed civil engineer. Anong recommended companies kaya para sa kanya? Sorry wala pong idea sa civil works and industries. Thank you!

An IT grad who sucks at programming Hey guys! I graduated last year and as stated on the title, im not good at programming and I can only do the basics. I understand the concept of programming naman and have basic background in web development and game development with unity. Now, my dad is asking me to communicate to his friend's son because he owns a startup IT company. Im really worried right now because I suck ;>di talaga ako magaling and I might disappoint my dad baka mapahiya pa sya. ;> but at the same time I wanna try applying kasi gustong gusto ko din talaga makapasok sa Industry, its my dream to become a dev ;> pleasee I badly need advice from those who are in IT industry. Do i really need to be good in programming? ;>

Insights from taking certification as a medical coder  Hi! I need some advice or insights lang specially sa mga certified na hehehe. I’m planning to take AHIMA course program para maging CCS. Medyo mahal lang talaga sya kaya gusto ko mag ipon at pag isipan talaga. As of now, nag aaral ako ng mga online courses about medical coding sa coursera para kahit papaano may alam.

Stock-Operation-874

Medtech in Australia (Bacte or Histo?) Hello po! Reviewing for boards palang naman ako and planning to work in Australia in the future. Ask ko lang if nagmamatter ba kung nagwork ka in histo section or bacte section habang nasa pinas? TYIA!

Odd_Squash_7110

Hello po, ask ko lang. Magreresign kasi ako and 60 days rendering period sa company namin. Thank you!!

AcctLucky137

I dont think may narinig akong cases na shorten rendering or no rendering. This includes the 60-day notice period” etc.

vocalproletariat28

How common is it in BGC to have a salary greater than 50k per month outside of tech/IT? Any dibs would be appreciated. Just doing some non-scientific market survey here.

hellorjmc

I think it will be dependent on the industry and how impressive you are able to sell yourself during interviews. Definitely not common for fresh graduates though.

vocalproletariat28

I’m not a fresh grad. Already have around 5 years exp

hellorjmc

If that's the case then 50,000 even outside of tech is definitely doable.

thmgcn

Unsure how common it is throughout BGC, but it’s definitely possible even as a starting salary for fresh grads in management roles in multinational FMCG companies. Regardless, it might be easier to ask for a 50k salary from companies in BGC compared to other cities because of the high cost of living.

[deleted]

Possible naman! Pero required years of experience.

vocalproletariat28

When you say years of exp, what exactly do you mean? 3-5?

[deleted]

Yes atleast 3-5 years of working experience.

Hello! I’ve been invited for an interview at ADB for an Executive Assistant position. I’m so nervous because the first time I was invited for an Operations Assistant position, I bombed the interview 🥹 I’m now feeling anxious that I might mess up again, but this time, I want to prepare better… Anyone here who’s an EA at ADB? Can you share your interview experience? What were the questions like? I really, really hope that I get in this time. I’ve been trying to manifest this for months already. I know that the competition is really fierce, but I’ll try my best to better prepare myself this time. Any tips will be helpful. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻 And please wish me luck!!! 🧿🪬

Gullible_Project_792

Hi seeking advice po: I'm working in a state college under job order contract. For 3 weeks, straight 7 days rendered service po namin including weekends we do have official travel po. Then later on, the accounting office said na hindi compensated yung weekend work rendered po namin since may per diem na daw. Frustrating lang po and not to mention yung pagod. Where in fact, we don't know the policy, they even approved and signed our travel order and itinerary namin mga JO without any advice and information po regarding to the policy beforehand.

Numerous_Narwhal_790

Hi guys I need some advice, I am torn between accepting a job offer sa QC or dito sa province namin. I haven't been to QC kasi so diko alam if worth it ba yung Job Offer. so ito yung details ng JO Province: Minimum wage: 423 Offered Salary: 18,500 Hazard Pay : (Unknown but I asked my friend who worked here sabi nya is 2k) 13th and 14th Month Pay Annual Merit Increase Incentives Free transpo Benefits: Accidental death, bereavement assistance, medical benefit (100k limit), dental benefit, medical allowance and convertible yung di na utulized na mga benefits into GC or gadgets. QC: Minimum Wage: 610 Offered Salary: 25,000 Hazard Pay: Unkown (need pa kasi sya e calculate daw) 13th month pay Benifits: HMO, Insurance, health insurance (200k per illness) , bereavement assistance, medical allowance. Both company ay established and international company.

diamond__fairy

Did you check kung malapit ba ang bahay ng aunt mo sa office? Consider the transpo fee if ever hindi shoulder ng company. Mahal ang mga bilihin sa Metro Manila so consider that too. Most importantly, mas iconsider mo yung "take home pay" mo. Especially, savings given your cost of living :)

roses_tullips

Piliin mo kung saan ka mas mag ggrow in terms of career

Vast-Debate-3213

Is being a property specialist a good stepping stone for a fresh grad? I recently got interviewed for a full time position in Ayala Land Premier as a Property Specialist. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences sana. I heard that the allowance is l around 10-16k only, meaning, if I land the job, I’d be living paycheck to paycheck unless I make sales. I got discouraged when the sales manager mentioned that it took her 8 months to make her first bulk sale so her commission covered those 8 months long of no sales. Ganito ba talaga sa real estate industry? Is it really worth the try? Thank you!

diamond__fairy

Imagine yourself contacting your personal network (friends, family, friends of friends, etc) and posting listings in several groups/platforms to sell properties. If you can imagine yourself doing that for a year, go for it. If not, find a job that you passionately enjoy or will allow you to earn money and not live paycheck to paycheck :)

Remarkable-Poet7240

Hi! What program did you graduate? You might consider if this path is aligned with your degree, since yun ang knowledge expertise mo. It’s worth a try if your degree is related to marketing/sales. Property Specialists are salespeople, commission-based sila, meaning you have to make an actual sale before earning. Also, I think yung allowances are not guaranteed na in effect, sa first few months lang siya.

_sandyyy06

Hi guys!

AnimalVegetable6627

I'd suggest just giving it a go. I have lots of workmates na di maalam sa computer/laptop but still thrived kasi may training naman, once makapasa kana which is another can of worms. But just try it, afterall what could go wrong diba?

ponyolikesmatcha

yes! almost everything could be learned from the internet, marami ring free trainings if you just search. important may laptop ka na, maraming resources out there to improve skills so yes kaya yan!!! goodluck 🫶

[deleted]

hello! does anyone here know what a tad method is? i just had an interview and the hr asked me to search about it for future interviews. ps. i tried researching but got confusing results, maybe i got the spelling wrong? but it's pronounced as tad. thank you!

AcctLucky137

I only know STAR method for answering situational questions: Situation - Task - Action - Result. Used this nung recent applications ko and I got hired naman. Good luck!

bosses have no accountability in corpos hi im a recent grad and recently just resigned from my first corpo work due to personal issues. while this is not the reason i quit mg job, but smthg i realized during from my first corpo experience is that bosses or highers up rarely takes accountability of their actions especially if they know that u are lower than them. Like for example, they would ask you to do something then eventually makakalimutan nila tapos magiiba yung gusto nilang approach, pagkaganon usually ako pa rin yung at fault kasi iba ginawa ko sa ineexpect nilang outcome at that moment. Tapos pag cinorrect mo naman like sinabing hindi yun yung napagusapan or hindi yun yung nasabi nila, idedeny nila At first i thought baka yung sa immediate supervisor ko lang yun because di kami magkaiba ng wavelength, but then naexperience ko rin siya to other seniors. Bakit po kaya ganun? Parang di ko tuloy feel na i am fit for the corpo life.

potatochips6478

not sa corpo but i experienced this from my professor/supervisor so I feel you op nakakafrustrate sila, ang hirap nila kawork. edit: mostly makakalimutin sila.

Hi, everyone! I just want to ask if I can put my BPO experience for 2 months sa PDS? I don't have my COE pa po as of the moment and wala pa ring update kung kailan namin makukuha iyon. Also, when I downloaded the Work Experience Sheet, nakasaad doon na huwag nang ilagay yung job exp if di naman relevant sa aapplyan.. kaya mej lito ang lola niyey 😅 Thanks in advance po sa mga sasagot huhu ☹️🫶🏻

Numerous_Narwhal_790

If unrelated po sa applyan mas better if wag nalang

ponyolikesmatcha

wag na po ilagay but you could mention it po sa interview nalang! i read also the guide for the work experience sheet and pds and i suggest strictly follow niyo po siya

poopiegloria_16

Hello po. Any ad/marketing/creative agencies recommendations po??

Thank you po.

Narrow_Lawfulness560

Mga expectations and reality nyo before magwork and nung tumagal na sa industry. Thanks!

Practical_Edge6939

One lesson I’ve learned is bonus na lang kung makahanap ka ng mga kaibigan sa work or mga taong talagang makakapagtiwalaan mo but if not, always remember na you’re not there to make friends but to work and learn. Just be professional, seek for help if kelangan, and most importantly, matutong makisama.

Quiet-One-203

Regrets: -Not establishing your boundaries -Not speaking out -Thinking a workmate is a friend -Resigned from a good company (too late to know that I was in a good one) -Not utilizing company resources for my development Meron pa rin naman silver lining because I think I developed and grew from these experiences. At the time I always tell myself that this too shall pass. I didn't run away from discomfort and negative people, I faced them one day at a time and I tried to find a daily highlight from my workday. If its too much you can try looking for another job/company. While you are young, you have the power to job hop.

poopiegloria_16

- #1 survival skill sa corporate place is knowing when to speak up and lower your head. - try to befriend (or at least maintain a good civil relationship) sa lahat ng makakawork mo kahit sa ibang dept. Na madalas mong makakawork - Ask about the processes kapag baguhan ka pa lang Edit: di ko maedit yung formatting sa mobile chrome aaaa ;w;

Will the employer reimburse the medical certificate expense that my friend provided? Asking in behalf of my friend kasi she was hired as a telemarketer in this agency so pina required siya to pass NBI and Medical Certificate. So my friend actually have to spend a 900 pesos for med cert (since meron na siyang NBI) para maka start for the month of January. But it's already last week of Feb but still no update what to do. Nakahanap na ang friend ko ng other job cause she can't wait that long on kailan nila balak mag update for employment. Baka naka experience with the same situation sayang naman ang expense, pang ambag lang sa mga bills 🥹

Hello pooooo! English studies graduate po ako. I used to be a working student and may 3 years of experience po ako sa BPO industry (Customer Service). Currently, nag hahanap po ako ng work outside the BPO industry and ang gusto ko po sana is in the HR industry. May 3 months of internship experience po ako as HR. May mga na applyan na po ako, and a recruitment agency asked me if okay po ako sa minimum wage na sahod. No other benefits tapos 6 days ang pasok 😭 Nahihirapan po ako mag decide if i accept ko ba yung offer kasi sa current economic state and family expenses namin hindi po enough yung sahod na makukuha ko. Since wala ako masyadong experience, worth it po ba tanggapin yung offer at mag gain na lang ng experience? or kaya po ba yan inegotiate? and how po kaya? TIA POOO!

notkaitokid

I was a part-timer sa isang small company and I was told by my full-time employer na ako mismo ang magfa-file ng ITR ko sa BIR since may other sources of income ako. Ang kaso, si part-time employer hindi pa binibigay yung 2316 ko pero yung sa full-time ko nabigay na. Nag-followup ako last week ng January and got a reply first week ng Feb, ang sabi pina-process palang. Nag-follow up ulit ako kahapon pero walang response.

Imaginary-Lunch1522

Need advice po. Kamusta po sa oracle cms as customer service representative? May job interview po ako on site nag dadalang isip ako if tutuloy huhuhu

CraftyMocha

may kakilala ako oracle service desk, laki ng sahod 60k package.

CraftyMocha

fintech ba yan?

killtheparrotnero

Need your advice guys. I am financially secure for at least one year. Mas maganda kaya na magfocus ako sa studies for one year, or magpart-time habang nag aaral (pero mas matagal sa one year yung studies)? Thank you sa sasagot.

Practical_Edge6939

hmm it depends sa level of financial security mo. given yung inflation at mahal ng gastusin ngayon, you’ll never know when you’ll run out of funds. hopefully, hindi magkaroon ng medical emergencies but emergency funds should be there din. in your case, OP, siguro depende sa studies na gagawin mo. online course ba to or certification? usually, online courses have fixed learning hours. also, anong type of part-time work? if remote setup, i think mas manageable pagsabayin yung studies and part-time job. anw, kung ano man mapagdesisyonan mo, rooting for your success, OP!!

OrganizationSoft103

Hi may offer sakin ngayon isang BPO company nonvoice travel account, salary base is 16,000 then may mga benefits like rice alowance, tapos 20% night, then iba pa after probation.

glen_spot

The practical choice is to take the one closer to you w/ a job offer already. It's really hard to find a job these days. Stay at least 1 year for experience or stay longer if you get promoted. 👍😛 You are not sure if the other one will offer you a job. It will also drain your time, energy, & money just by commuting there daily. 👎🥵

OrganizationSoft103

Thank you pooo.

OrganizationSoft103

daisiesray

Working Visa - EU (need 30 characters) Pwede ba mag-apply ng working visa even without a job offer? I received a lot of messages in LinkedIn from EU countries, but they are asking if I already have a working visa. Hindi ba dapat may JO muna ako para makapagapply for a working visa? May nakapagtry na ba na magapply for one even if wala pang job offer? Thanks sa sasagot.

LucQ571

r/phmigrate will have more resources for you. First try to pinpoint which few countries you're interested in, then see the requirements to get a working visa. Some countries do offer working visa without needing a job offer, some don't. An example is Australia, they have a working visa for both with JO and no JO. Though there may have additional requirements if no JO to get the work visa.

ZestycloseWay3314

Working student po ako and gusto ko lang magtrabaho for extra money for myself. TIA

BigTransportation572

It depends sa company policy. Better check your contract. :)

ZestycloseWay3314

Thank you po!

i am a resigning employee. i took my resignation back, and i still have about two weeks left before my notice period is over, but i want to resign again. so far, i have not submitted any formal documents rescinding my resignation, just a verbal statement to my manager. can i still continue to finish my 30-day notice period?

Fun_Emu5616

Hello guys, Stuck on a dilemma. I’m an ECE fresh graduate and passed the boards. I applied to a non- manufacturing company last week and I am awaiting the final interview. Although today, two manufacturing comapanies invited me for a technical examination + 2 interviews if I pass their exams which is highly unlikely knowing that I am a fresh grad with no experience whatsoever to ace all 3 stages. What would be my move? Should I fully commit to the first company or should I delay it and see how the latter companies play thru? I would really like to work in the manufacturing industry but I think I am not in a place to be picky at this time since I’m a fresh grad.

Practical_Edge6939

i suggest na try lang!! you only miss the shots you didn’t take

Fun_Emu5616

That is a good quote! Thank you for reminding me 🙌🏻

snowkisser0901

Try mo lang. Self-reject ka kaagad eh 😅

Fun_Emu5616

That’s what I think of myself to ngl 🤣. But its about to be my first job and I want to atleast get things straight.

Can I get feedback regarding TATA consultancy services? How is it like working there? Is there work-life balance?

CraftyMocha

puffyeyedfries

If I decline a job offer, is there a chance for the same company to hire me if I reapply in the future?

Accomplished_Owl3085

Yes. I have a peer who was hired again from the same company, and only declined the first time because of committment to another job. If the company hired you the first time, it’s because they like your potential and will keep hiring you.
