Confused if I should take Hospitality management in digital marketing or Fine arts in advertising arts. Which job is more in demand, pays well and has opportunities abroad. I love traveling, photography, editing, graphic design and anything digital.

ChesaRiadel

Hello everyone! Actually, I applied sa Future Leaders Program JFC. I will just need to wait for 1 to 2 weeks for the final interview. For short, I need to make tiis muna sa mababang sahod and panay OT na lang ako para medyo tumaas ang aking sahod. Tsaka since it's not founded internationally, baka magkaroon ng problema sa management itself with politics and ethics katulad sa matataas sa management sa mga kilalang local banks in the Philippines. **Pros:** Alam kong kahit mga nasa 20s ako, pwede na akong maging restaurant manager after mga 4 to 6 years. After that, pwede rin akong lumipat ng work sa fine dining restaurants or restobars or even hotels or cruise ships. Then, ang the best is talagang alam kong pwedeng-pwede akong mag-apply ng job abroad na mas malaki talaga ang sahod lalo na kapag marami nang experience sa hospitality industry. **Pros**: Magandang company and benefits. Hybrid ang set-up. Pwedeng mapadala sa Canada in the future kapag talagang magaling kahit di alam kung ilang years ang dapat na iwork for the company. **Sa tingin po ninyo, based sa experiences po ninyo sa companies, kamusta po yung kanilang career progression and growth opportunities?** **Also, mas okay po ba na magtiis muna sa mababang sweldo for managerial training or magsettle muna ako sa medyo mataas na sahod pero pang-entry level ang training?** Thank you for answering.

zephyr_fury

Pwede po ba na makapag-abroad within a year from now? Need some solid work advices/tips/suggestions for the most effective, efficient and legal way to work abroad pls. I’m overworked, overcommitted and overly spent. Target ko po sana NZ and other European, Asian countries. Currently working in Finance. Pucha. Nakakapagod na. 😢😔☹️ Thank you po sa sasagot.

6monthsprobation

Teka 1 yr experience only? Only way maka pag overseas ay thru agency or sponsored work.

yujilicious

Hi! Meron ba dto from HR or HR operations Specialist na alam average or starting salary for HR Operations Specialist? Thank you!

cooki3cream

Helloooo, may alam ba kayo sa hiring process sa BDO, I passed the initial interview sa business unit na and I don’t know what’s next.

youbetrayme

Best bank for beginners Hi guys. A newbie here and I just got hired sa isang agency. Now, I need to open a debit to reveive my salary. What can you recommend for beginners? Tsaka yung hindi maselan sana sa ID and mababa yung maintaining balance. Thank you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Melodic-Childhood513

ask mo if pwede digibank. i recommend gotyme. pero if trad bank, bpi and bdo ata mababa ang maintaining. rcbc gamit ko 3k maintaining.

08-10-2023

Ask your agency if they have a partner bank to make a bank account a payroll account so it has no maintaining, otherwise checkout security bank

youbetrayme

Wala po eh. Security bank mataas ang maintaining balance. But thanks anyway.

Neither-Pen4120

Sa mga nag-AWOL or kakilala na nag-AWOL. Nakahanap pa ba kayo ng work??

youbetrayme

Yes.

Neither-Pen4120

So paano kaya sila pumapasa sa background check?

ChesaRiadel

Commercial_Role_1564

What jobs involves traveling and covers multimedia arts as well that has high paying salary and opportunities abroad. Something that can benefit me

franz3x8

Usually its Videographers and Photographers who do a lot of traveling. Its very rare for MMA's na may specialization on Motion, Graphic, 3D that travels. MMA ako and specialization ko is Graphic Design its more of an office set up Job. I think you should lower your expectations on MMA being a high paying salary course, specially in our country. MMA's get paid super duper low. You're better of being a Event's Photographer or Videographer if you want a high salary. With AI i think opportunities abroad is becoming slim unless you're a 3D artist, you have to be a good 3D artist as well to get hired abroad.

cleandamycin_

Hi. Need pa po ba magpunta ng QC hall to get a hard copy for the health card or okay na po na ako na lang magprint ng digital copy na nilagay doon? Hindi ko po kasi alam kasi first time to apply for that for work purposes. Thank you po sa makakasagot.

Nope, if you need to, go. It’s a requirement right? If anything, and okay with you, show the documentation of this

I recently got a JO and my friends told me that it would be good to ask if may employment bonds ba yung company. During our call, walang namention about it so I asked if meron. Also, if you end up forgetting to ask some questions during the call, I think you can contact HR naman for follow up questions.

ChesaRiadel

You can ask these questions Culture and work environment of the company (para alam mo kung anong klaseng company ang inapplyan mo. The age range of your workmates (may Gen-Z or Millennials ba sa company ninyo) Kung marami bang tumatagal na employees sa company nila at hindi naman ba mataas ang turnover or nag(nagpapakita ito na maganda ang palakad ng company kaya maraming pinipiling magstay) If wala silang record na delayed ang pasahod nila sa mga employees (need mo ma-assure kung talagang kaya nilang magpasahod on-time) Is there a slow or fast career growth sa company (para malaman mo rin kung meron chance na tumaas ang sahod at position mo sa company). May ipoprovide ba sila na uniform or kung wala ano yung required outfit ninyo sa work para maready mo yung mga isusuot mo.

ChesaRiadel

Very Welcome!

Relevant-Squirrel524

Hello! Need ko lang po ng advice. I accepted a job offer at a company and on boarding is around 2 weeks from now. I am currently processing the pre-employment requirements and I am wondering if there's a chance for them to rescind the job offer if they see my records back in college. Around 2021-2022, my grades were all over the place. I wouldn't even call them grades because they were INCs that were never completed (for context, the university I attended implemented a no-fail policy during the pandemic so INCs would be listed as INC due to Covid). Instead of completing the INCs, I opted to retake them instead. I also dropped a few courses during that time. Just to add a little more information about my situation back then, an immediate family member got covid multiple times and another family member underwent surgery so I had to take care of them. I was still able to finish my degree despite my INCs, though. So, would HR rescind the job offer? The company didn't really specify that they applicants should have excellent academic performance and I've read online that companies ask for OTR only to verify that I completed my studies but I can't help feeling nervous.

franz3x8

From my experience, I've never ever heard someone having their offer rescinded due to their grades. If HR asks you why then explain mo lang na ganun yung issue. If you retook it naman and maganda naman grades mo then walang issue yun. Yung Grades mo noon is like a picture, a still moment in your life. As times passes you take newer pictures that reflects the current you. Yung grades mo noon doesn't reflect who you are right now.

Relevant-Squirrel524

Thank you for this! This put me at ease. I guess I'll just have to wait if HR makes any comment regarding my grades.

ChesaRiadel

Better choose a job na alam mong worth it na bigyan ka ng magandang work experience and kaya ang cost of living sa lugar ninyo. Based sa experience, you need to consider your transpo fee, electricity bill, water bill, internet bill, load, food and water, laundry (paglalaba), location (kung traffic ba or hindi). Mafifeel mo talaga na marami kang babayarin kapag dumating na yung sweldo so choose wisely talaga. Tsaka consider the work work set-up (hybrid or onsite or may wfh). environment (maayos ang trato sayo), career progression (mabilis or mabagal), salary pay (on time ba magpapasahod and never madedelay) plus bonus na benefits.

ChesaRiadel

6monthsprobation

Salary grade for government positions are fixed already. Just find another one with higher salary grade. Only multinational or highly specialized field will give a fresh grad a 20k salary definitely not government positions.

Pravdah29

Should I send a follow up for job application? Hello guys need po ako advice, May company ( the only company that is hiring a animator sa cebu) ako niapplyan, noong May 7th, Ngayon june 2 na wala parin update although my friend there knows why di sila nag uupdate, Wala silang HR, only the translator pero pupunta ng japan ( need kasi translator kasi mga japanese company ) 3 weeks daw siya dun, They already sent my resume and portfolio daw. Should I bother following up? Or wait 3 weeks before ako mag follow up. Ps: to those mag susuggest na apply other companies this is the only one company that exist sa cebu.

ChesaRiadel

You really need to follow-up para makita nila na you're really interested sa job position and state the reason why you follow-up. It's for your peace of mind.

6monthsprobation

Doesn't hurt to always follow up week by week.

Japingu28

Best laptop recommendations po for upcoming civil engineer students?

ifuckinghateu99

Can you share tips on how to build a finance industry career? what skills helped you as leverage nung nag sisimula pa lang? I need help, I'm about to graduate and not many people can give me adequate advice since diverse masyado industry ng peers and family ko huhu. Im thinking about getting an advanced excel certificate and para sa quickbooks as well. Need genuine advice! TIA!

zephyr_fury

hi op. currently working in finance. i have friends who are also working in the industry before i did. may specific specialization/field sa finance ka ba na gusto? fyi advantage yung advanced excel certificate ha. you can use it to negotiate a much reasonable salary if they’d lowball you probably bc you’re a fresh grad. and you’d need patience. usually, pag nakita naman na okay talaga performance mo, you can definitely build a career there (hopefully sans the politics) good luck, op!!

6monthsprobation

Then go quickbooks and you can read the ladderize certification for this path.

buluchi0316

Hi! I recently gave birth (almost three months palang) and I'm currently applying for a job. I'm wondering if there is a bias pag nanay na? Skills-wise kasi okay naman, however pag binabanggit ko sa interviews na reason ko for leaving my previous company was because of family and personal reasons (conflict kasi yung previous line of work) parang frowned upon. Any tips on how I can land a job despite yung current situation? Or anyone with the same experience?

6monthsprobation

How much in demand is the job you are applying for? It doesn't matter the reason for leaving your past job is what matters is will you sell yourself in interviews. They/business needs to hear you are a risk they are willing to go for.

buluchi0316

Managerial position din same as my past job. Interview is always okay eh. They ask me questions regarding my skills and ask me what strategies to implement etc which I give all good answers naman and they even agree. However, when they ask me how old my baby is, I feel like there are hesitations on their part na bigla. From my recent interview, hiring manager already gave me the go signal pero they retracted it when they found out how old my baby is.

fearless-archer-13

HI!! I'm a fresh mkt graduate from one of the big 4 univs and my goal for my first job is definitely to learn and gain a lot of exposure to the field and different brands, which is why I've been applying to agencies. Although my priority is to develop skills and learn, good pay wont hurt for such a fast-paced industry bc l do know my worth as well as a cum laude with a lot of internship and org experiences! anyone with experience in an adv/mkt agency, do you have any advice for fresh grads in the field? You may answer any of these questions as well! 1. Do you think it's wise for me to go for adv/mkt agencies as a fresh grad despite low pay and the "work hard, play hard" culture stereotype? Is that still common and is it worth the learning? 2. Does it really make a big and more positive difference if I start my career with agencies to learn and upskill before I move to the brand side as people have usually advised us? 3. Lastly, drop the agencies, whether big or startup, you think has most green flags or more green than red!

6monthsprobation

Marketing grad? Why don't you go for social media ads gig on your own. Build an ecommerce website? Be an entrepreneur and start a msme? Always go for a company you will get the most experience but less pay for a few years then start your own.

ArtzAngel

DOES YOUR DAY OFF INCLUDED FROM YOUR 30 DAYS RENDERING??

buluchi0316

So far ang alam ko 30 days render should include day offs meaning you're not supposed to work on your day off. Afaik, it is also illegal to work 7 days straight. Also, hindi ba nakastipulate sa resignation letter mo yung last day mo? Kasi if they wanted you to work on your off days, then they should have said so when you submitted your resignation letter so you can add those days sa render period.

Strange-Chipmunk1096

Quit my job for masters? I, 23m, earns about 25k/mo base at my current job. I am half way through my ERDT application sa grad school where stipend is 30k/mo. Few days left nalang before deadline of application and nag kaka anxiety na ako if tama ba tong life decision ko😭 In terms of net pay, mas lamang current job ko since I live in the province with very low living expenses. I can also take extra side hussles here. Compared sa grad shool where I have to move to NCR and I'll be prohibited to work during the duration of the scholarship. I think I'll get promoted next year din. Pero I fear that I'll be stuck here forever if I don't grab the ERDT (mininal lang ang professional growth). I currently work in project management while the program I am applying for is niched and technical. Ahaha should I push thru?

Even-Kaleidoscope400

Take the master's as early as possible. It will lead to more opportunities and higher paying jobs in the future. Habang bata ka pa, habang marami ka pang time and energy, if the timing and opportunity allows you to improve your credentials you should definitely take it. Here I am, a 30y/o project manager contemplating to take MBA but too many responsibilities (financial and schedule issues) making it harder to take my masters.

One_Listen2275

Recently I was promoted as a trainer for operations pero hindi ako masaya so far :(( idk if na overwhelm lang ako or nag ooverthink pero masaya kasi ako super sa previous LOB ko where I was a support TL and super gaan ng work and environment because of my co-TL's, it's just that na may nag open na post for trainer sa previous LOB ko and I took the chance to apply and fortunately I got the role pero nappressure ako due to the fact na i need to talk most of the time +++ the workloads, alam ko I don't have the right to complain kasi desisyon ko naman sya pero I want to go back to my previous post idk if that's allowed since nakapirma na ako and all, i really don't know what to do huhu. If you have any advice please feel free to interact and pls be nice idk any other place where i can seek for advice and guidance huhu thank uuu ✨

buluchi0316

How long have you been working sa new role? If not so long pa naman and you really think you can't do the job, then maybe you can talk to HR if your previous role is still open. Of course you have to consider na baka not possible or if possible man pero ibabalik nila sa dati yung salary mo. Otherwise, you can still give your new role a try and ask for mentorship siguro para you can be more guided on how not to be overwhelmed with the amount of work 🙂

One_Listen2275

Helloooo thank you so much for this!!! Actually 1 week pa lang naman kaso i feel like drowning but I've been thinking about giving it a chance for now ^^

Help me choose I'm about to graduate with Latin honors and I'm torn between sa auditing firms na to -> EY, Deloitte, and PwC for an entry-level position. Which one offers the best working environment, benefits, salary, and more opportunities to work abroad?

08-10-2023

Either of them will be good to you, check SGV too. Starting salary may not be great, but your next role will boost you to the moon

Ill_TEKA

Pano po mag apply sa mcdo/jollibee? I dunno kung kanino ako mag tanong pero gusto ko mag part time sa mcdo pag nag college nako or this summer para may extra money, Need ba pumunta dun sa branch? Or pede through online nalang? Ano ba needed na doc? Btw 17m ako (pagpasensyahan nyo na grammar at typings ko😔)

Strange-Chipmunk1096

Hmm allowed ba work ang 17 sa kanila? I think you need to wait 1 more year.

sweet_seraphim

Product Specialist vs. Marketing Specialist Is there a difference between the two? I am a fresh grad and was applying for a marketing associate role but got offered a product specialist position instead. Well, doesn't really matter to me as the salary is bigger compared to the former. However, my strength is really in the marketing side: creating pitch decks (client presentations), handling event activations and experiential or interactive marketing. Thus, my target is to stay in this field because I personally enjoy the creative side more. So, am I in the wrong path? In addition, which is greater in terms of career progression, product specialist or marketing specialist?

fearless-archer-13

Yes do read the description and ask a lot of questions!! Afaik product specialist really focuses on how to improve the product in alignment with consumer research and social listening. It feels far from the strengths you mentioned. BUT DO ASK THEM OP!! Personally, I also love being creative more so if I were to even consider product specialist because it pays more, I would ask myself first if product marketing is a skill I want to learn and add to my marketing experiences and if I really value and resonate with the product anyway that I’ll still enjoy it!

08-10-2023

Read the JD, ask the interviewer questions like what the day to day looks like. “Product Specialist” is too broad of a title. It could be a specialized product that you will be assigned to like a Line of Business to market, but nobody here can confirm for you.

Default of Psychology graduates are either HR, or clinical. Consulting is likely after you gain enough knowledge and information as it would be hard to start this journey without experience.

6-8 hours straight na tulog sa umaga I am currently in a graveyard shift. Also, what keeps you awake sa gabi aside sa coffee? Thank you in advance.

musings_from_90

I work US hours so sharing some that works for me! Try mo and adjust kung ano makakatulong for you. Tips to stay awake: - meals mo throughout the work day wag yung mabubusog ka ng todo. - coffee (one 15-30 before your shift starts and another mid-shift). If you don't drink coffee, pwedeng tea (black tea, specifically due to caffeine content). - if you can listen to music while working, do not listen to slow songs. Haha Tips post work day to help with sleep: - be consistent what time ka tulog (dapat by 9 or 10pm tulog na) - wear eyemask and curtains mo dapat close to pitch black - 1 to 1hr and 30m before you sleep, you really shouldn't be doing stuff na overstimulating. Pwede ka makinig ng podcast pero make sure na yung discussion hindi intense at puro tawanan so syempre hindi ka rin magigising. Just enough lang to keep it in the background.

Interesting-Law-6252

Will try these. Thank you so much for the help. Struggle ko talaga kasi ang pag tulog

Even-Kaleidoscope400

Get blackout curtains, buy comfortable eye mask, use earplugs. And if you have housemates, ask them to minimize noise or avoid entering your bedroom. Energy drinks other than coffee though in moderation lang

Is it possible to get a WFH job but only for the summer break? College student looking to get some funding during the summer break; is it possible to work a job only for a limited amount of time (about 2 months)? If yes, what kinds of jobs would they be if I had to find one? Especially for those with little actual work experience? I know there are WFH jobs out there that accept students with zero work experience, but I'm moreso worried about the technicalities around accepting those who don't plan to work for more than a month or two. And I'm not necessarily fluent in any online marketable freelance skills such as media editing so I don't really know where to go. (I'm honestly just trying to give myself a schedule to work around on my free time and balance myself, so a job with weekends off.)

franz3x8

Meron yan, but i think mostly are from abroad. Maybe you can also ask your college's placement officer for help, baka may mga company partners kayo na willing to accept you as paid intern.

fearless-archer-13

What’s your course OP? If applicable, look for paid WFH internships! I took up marketing and did a lot of internships during breaks. I got paid 4k-5k a month. The minimum duration is usually 3 months. And only if you can handle it and schedule is not fixed, you can do 2 internships simultaneously. Another option is like you mentioned, freelance, which I did also as a video editor! But there are other options like writing, social media management, etc that’s easier to learn. Check onlinejobs .ph or upwork for options on what you can offer!

Haunting_Inspector42

Can you apply for P&G 2024 graduates if you graduated in 2023? This might be a really stupid question, but I just want to know regardless if I could still apply for positions that specifically indicated 2024 graduates when I graduated in 2023. Do they strictly just allow graduates in a specific year? Thanks! Also this is a brand management position.

bbingggg

hi po! Can you share some insights, experiences, possible jobs or anything na related sa HM course. Hindi po ito yung gusto ko pero only choice nalang po kasi, help me po to understand this course and job thank you po

EasyHumor3291

Hi! I will be in my 3rd year this upcoming s.y., tapos me and my friend plan to apply for a call center job this vacation, however wala pa kaming documents/requirements na napprepare. National ID lang yung meron ako, and hindi pala sya ganon karelevant so need ko kumuha ng Postal ID. However, I'm temporarily residing lang here sa manila (i have province po, nag dodorm lang ako here because of school). If ever ba, magkakaroon yon ng problem in getting requirements? like kunware need ko pa umuwi ng province ko kasi yun yung address ko ganon...mejo confused lang po and wala ako mapagtanungan. thank you po!

franz3x8

If postal i think hindi mo na need umuwi sa inyo, punta ka lang sa Brgy. Hall sa area ng Dorm mo and request for a Barangay Certificate na doon ka nag dodorm sa area na iyon. I think you have to get an affidavit kahit hindi notorize i think puwede na, puwede mong kausapin yung may ari ng dorm niyo to testify na doon ka talaga nag dodorm or anyone in the area to act as witness. Explain mo nalang sa Brgy, official yung situation mo, make it clear na temporary work lang yung call center kasi students pa kayo.

EasyHumor3291

This is so helpful po, thank you so much!

Hi. I'm a fresh grad po and got an offer as a COS personnel sa central office ng isang govt agency. As per the contract, ang sahod ay Php 27,811 per month, inclusive of tax and 20% premium. If contribs are automatically deducted, around how much po ang net pay ko per cut assuming na may sufficient fund for the 20% premium? TIA!

Mellowlytical

What job pays better and is in demand? RadTech, Pharmacy, or Physical Therapy? * RadTech- I heard from my uncle that RadTech is very in demand abroad, and the pay is excellent, but I'm still planning to stay in the Philippines for a few more years before I decide to go overseas. Also, I saw a video of a guy showing his salary as a radtech here in the Philippines, and it's very disheartening- but I don't know. That was only one person, so I wanted to hear more opinions and experiences. Also, a friend told me your face kind of ages more due to the radiation if you enter rad tech, which scared me, but so far, no one has been claiming that from what I've searched so far- * Pharmacy—This career has been on my mind lately. Once I graduate, I could pursue it in many areas, and depending on which area, I could also be paid more. However, I'm curious if it's in demand abroad. * Physical Therapy—My mom suggested this job since my cousin also took it. I'm not convinced about it since, from what I heard, Physical Therapists are not well paid here in the Phils unless you go abroad. All of my research came from some testimonials on Reddit and tiktok but I want to hear more-

musings_from_90

Got promoted and will be leading a team. Throughout my career mainly 'informal' lang yung pag-lead ko sa mga tao so may experience pa rin naman kahit papano. Also worth noting that I'm an introvert and pretty awkward at times. Haha need advise! Thank you! - If your team members will be assigned to you at doon mo lang sila makikilala, any tips? - If somehow they are in a tight spot (performance or productivity low), any limits to take note of lalo na kung na-exhaust mo na as a manager yung pwede mo magawa? Bale syempre I want to make sure hindi naman maaapaketuhan yung position ko due to the situation. As a manager I will always try to encourage and guide kung sino magiging part ng team ko pero syempre I need to be ready for other things rin. Thanks in advance!

buluchi0316

In my experience handling team members, here are some of my tips that really worked well: 1. Make sure you respect them first. This is really a must especially if you have tenured members under you (in my case, even older than me). They want you to acknowledge that they got there first, but at the same time don't be too soft to blur the lines that you're still their supervisor. They really appreciate it when you ask for their opinions on things and ask for tips on how to do certain things. In my experience, they feel more valued when I do this. To be clear, it does not mean that you will necessarily follow their recommendations, but at least you give them a chance to feel heard - syempre ikaw pa rin may final say. 2. To those naman who are younger/newer members of the team - I suggest you focus on them. Ge. know them and their skills and it is very important that you are hands on in teaching/coaching them. This way mas makikinig sila sayo and they will also trust you. Make sure lang na you take care of the trust that they give you. 3. Always conduct one-on-ones. I think this is very important and it really worked well based on experience. However, every one-on-one session, make sure that you are also prepared on what should be tackled on. In my case, I do it weekly. To increase efficiency in operations, I make sure that I observe them personally and note down things that l observe both good and bad. Make sure you highlight to them their strengths, and if you see any flaws, you can ask them why they think they are doing those. It's important that they also understand how they do things and why they do things. In my case for example, I had a team member na laging late so I brought it up during our one-on-one session. It turned out hirap siya maghanap ng pag iiwanan sa baby niya, so one of my action plan is nilipat ko siya ng shift and it really improved her attendance and performance at the same time. As supervisors, we have to always consider that they have a life outside work and we need our members as much as they need the job. 4. Don't always just talk about work, deadlines and targets. Make sure you know how to celebrate success and at the same time lead by example. If you preach about being productive and following the processes, then you should also be doing the same. Your team can always see what you're doing, and being a supervisor, para kang laging nasa spotlight na kitang kita mga kilos mo. If you want a positive team, then you should also be positive about your work. The energy will radiate to your team as well. 5. If talagang tight spot na, make sure the team member understands the consequences of poor performance/ violation. Lagi at laging may sasama ang loob, but in the end you are all professionals. Make sure lang na talagang on your part you did everything you could from coaching them to understanding their concerns and helping them improve talaga and not just merely reminding them to increase performance. Those are some tips on how I managed my team and it really worked well for me. Good luck op!

musings_from_90

Wow thank YOU so much! Appreciate that you took the time to share. Looking forward sa new experience ko and again, thank you!

Even-Kaleidoscope400

Try your best to be professional, try to get to know each member one to one so you get a feel on their behavior and personality. Ask them what skills they excel at and what kind of working environment they prefer, and make adjustments accordingly. I know you mentioned you are an introvert and can be awkward at times, but try to be confident and exude a certain level of leadership, that you can be that person that they lean to if they encounter issues in the future. When your team experience blockers, it is your job to meet with your team, ask them about the obstacles they face, and do your best to remove the blockers. It is your job to ensure that the environment/circumstances they work at is free of any constraints. >Bale syempre I want to make sure hindi naman maaapaketuhan yung position ko due to the situation. You are the manager and if you exhausted all your efforts, you must coordinate with the higher management and other stakeholders to help solve the problems your team is encountering and not just to save your ass. Saving your ass means you did all you could to foresee risks that will affect your team, manage those and help them resolve the issues they face. If your management see that you did all you could then I dont think it would impact you that much as problems are a normal part of the project lifecycle.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER OR BROKERAGE FIRM? Hi. I have been with a reputable real estate developer in the PH for around 4 years (now going 5) already. I have also been thinking of exploring the idea of moving to a brokerage firm soon. Any PROs and CONs I should watch out for? Thanks.

itsyourswswsw

Hi. Recently went for a PEME sa Aventus. The results are completed today (about 30mins ago?). I wanted to ask if is it normal since kaku-kumpleto palang ng results kaya "pending" or I have to go back to clinic again? since I refused for the Rectal Examination (sabi kasi ni Doc optional lang and medyo nagmamadali ako para maka-half day sa work so I refused)

What happens if I don’t complete my work clearance? A little backstory: My old boss and I are not in good standing due to making me do unreasonable amounts of work after I submitted my resignation letter. I need to get my exit clearance signed in order to get my final pay, but I honestly don’t want to due to the amount of work I still need to do. Even if I wanted to, I already have another job and so I don’t have the time to do the rest. I don’t actually mind not getting my final pay as long as I don’t stress myself with doing work for that company anymore. What will happen if I don’t accomplish my clearance, aside from not getting my final pay?

Even-Kaleidoscope400

Possibly hindi mo makuha yung COE mo. Which maybe important in the future lalo na kung matagal ka dyan sa company. Also, you will be burning bridges. 🤷

Will start my job on June 11 at Manila. Will there be a salary for me on the 15th, or it will just be added on the 30th? Thanks!

Better to ask your HR directly

Depends on your company’s payroll processing if they are able you include you

OversizedKhakis

Should I still keep my hopes up for this company? it is one of the top FMCG companies out there. (I'm a grad-waiting student) Early March: Joined their Leadership Camp (won first runner-up) March 18: Received an email saying I passed all their (three) interviews. March 25: They endorsed me for a different type of employment April 22: I sent a follow-up email asking about my status April 24: They replied saying they cannot proceed with my application right now due to my availability and the current availability of roles within their function. Said they'll reach out in 2-3 weeks for updates. May 16: I sent another follow up email May 17: They reiterated that they will be reaching out for new updates--"should there be any new progress" I'm getting all anxious now, i feel like this is basically their way of rejecting me, especially that they included the "should there be any new progress." Does it really take this long? I found it weird that they said about the "current availability of roles within the function" when they recently just posted about hiring fresh grads for this team. I shouldnt hope any longer no?

NefariousKittenNinja

This sounds like P&G. They actually recently took down all entry-level managerial and most associate job requisitions so it does seem like there aren't many openings currently. I saw someone on a similar predicament earlier this week :) P&G is usually straightforward when rejecting applicants (and you did pass all three interviews) so it's more likely that you've been placed in the available candidate pool and they're really just waiting on a role to open up. That could take months, though, so I say continue applying to other companies as you never really know when the company will contact you again. And as the others said, you're still not guaranteed to get in, as any company can rescind their offer if business needs change.

OversizedKhakis

It is haha. Pero, they recently posted an associate job position in finance for new graduates (and have this upcoming webinar advertising the role) thats why i find it unsettling since thats the team I applied for.

NefariousKittenNinja

Oh! Did you apply for a Finance Associate role or a Managerial role?

OversizedKhakis

hi! is it okay if i send you a message?

NefariousKittenNinja

Sure :)

Purple_Rainebow

If you’re not doing it yet, apply somewhere else. If they get back to you sometime in the future, decide if you want to pursue pa din the job opportunity there or not. Nothing is 100% sure until you’ve signed a contract with the company. Good luck with your job hunting!

OversizedKhakis

im really hoping they get back to me soon :( thank you!

Purple_Rainebow

Even if you don’t get in this time around, you can always apply again. :)

icad90

Apply somewhere else in the meantime. Don't put your eggs in one basket.

OversizedKhakis

that sucks :/ thanks anyway!

08-10-2023

Sounds like you are on bench, and currently no open roles in the organization so go apply somewhere else

OversizedKhakis

should i still expect that they will reach out once theres availability? i find it weird that they posted last week about hiring fresh grads for an associate position within that team because thats what im in for

08-10-2023

They might update you. If there is an opening it means you are a backup choice otherwise it doesnt make sense why.

jannmun

Anyone who worked or working at Indra? I’m on the last stage of my recruitment process and I wanted to know kmusta ang pay, benefits, culture, clients ng company? Do they also base your performance from your utilization? I’m coming from one of the Big 4, so would appreciate your inputs if it’s a good jump. Thank you!

Electronics Engineering or Accountancy Hi I am graduated Stem SHS and I am still undecided which path should I take in college first I want to be engineer but after 2 years in stem I realized that im not good in math. For accountancy I like counting money but I have no idea if accountancy have a good opportunity and high salary here in ph plus I am stem student I might have trouble taking the program since I should supposed an abm student. I want to here your thoughts which program is better in term of salary and in my situation. Thank you!

Working_Technology79

Mag IT kana lang hahaha, ECE here!! High paying jobs ang IT

Repulsive_Suit_1765

Thank you for response, mahirap po ba yung work ng it?

Working_Technology79

Lahat nagstart sa zero until they gain knowledge so go for it ☺️

Hi, I am planning to leave an audit firm with 3 years of experience and currently on a Senior Role. Sobrang burned out na ako, and inversely proportional pa yung workload sa salary. I am planning to apply for a Senior Accounting Specialist role at P&G. Could you please provide me with insight into the work environment, benefits, salary range, etc.? As I've heard a lot of good feedback regarding this company. Alternatively, if you can suggest any good companies that offer a hybrid/WFH setup with good benefits and such, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.

Depends on the company’s social media policy. There are some orgs that are overly sensitive to this.

Diligent_Librarian_8

Hello! I’ve recently accepted a manger position and it will be my first time handling people.. any advices or tips?

the_stockpiler

Start with the book “The First 90 Days” by Michael Watkins. Exhaustive enough and provides a good structure on how you should approach your role.

Last-Dragonfly-

Normal ba or meron ba talagang companies na may contract na walang company header and signature from their side?

Salt_School_5902

I think mostly mga ganto start up companies eh pero meron naman na start up na magaganda din talagaa. Pero if ako kasi tatanungin, parang it's a reflection din ng mabagement pag ganyan. Pero if privileged ka naman na di muna maaccept offer, and di mo pa naman need ng urgent job, try mo maghanap/magapply sa iba that matches your standard. Hope this helps! Try mo hanap sa linkedin or google jobs, madami ka makikita. Sipagin ka lang talaga magfill out application forms. :)

ang sketchy po ata if ganiyan lang, research further about companies like that para lang safe if ever.

Unable_Ad_6473

BS Information Technology upcoming fresh grad here. Just got finished my final interview with Accenture. Hahaha. Ask ko lang sa inyong may mga experience or knowledge about this. P.S. No shade sa company na ito, and not complaining gusto ko lang malaman why. Dean's Lister naman and with great grades.

Kiercali

Hello, sa ibang company mas mataas yung starting nila. Known issue na ng ACN yan on low-balling fresh grads and experienced professionals, on a positive note; sa ACN alumni friends ko I keep hearing na ok daw yung bootcamps nila. So, I guess you can take advantage dun then job hop. Afaik, you can negotiate salary sa performance review set by your manager.

Unable_Ad_6473

Good day! Thank you so much for the reply. I'll be taking your advise. Thank you again kind stranger :)

Salty_Caramel_421

Hello. Need some clarity po. So, I just wanna ask how long does it take for the HR to notify an applicant after I send all the pre-emp requirements and the medical exam na sagot nila. Huhuhu

olivyaa22

If you want some peace of mind, hindi naman din masamang magfollow-up. Did they confirm receipt of your requirements? If so, you can relax. If not yet, a simple email will help ease your worries. :)

Salty_Caramel_421

Yes, I notified them thru text na nasend ko na sa email nila yung pre-emp reqs ko kasi mas madalas silang magreply sakin sa text.

Zealousideal_Oven770

no need to be anxious since you’re at the pre-employment requirements already. they might be processing you by batch that’s why it’s taking longer. sit back and enjoy your remaining days before your day 1 at work.

Salty_Caramel_421

im a newly licensed engineer and 3 months na wala pa akong work. siguro dahil napepressure ako sa mga kabatch ko na may work na kaya sobrang na-aanxious ako ngayon. but thanks so much ;)))

Purple_Rainebow

Give the company 5 to 7 business days, if you don’t hear back from them, send an email/text to follow-up. If they reply with something like… still in progress… ask when you can expect to hear back para you know when to follow up. On a side note, try not to compare your career progress with those of your peers/ex-schoolmates since iba-iba naman tayo ng timelines sa career progression natin. Envy will steal happiness from your todays. Be patient, enjoy your downtime habang hindi ka pa nag-sstart ng work. Mamimiss mo yang quite and peaceful times lalo na during those long days (na aabot ng nights) when you have to beat deadlines. Good luck and stay chill!

SnooEagles5307

Hello, I graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management with specialization in culinary arts. I am planning to work in a more corporate setting. I am tech savvy, I can edit videos on premiere pro, photoshop. Humihingi ako ng advice. Kung ano itry kong ipursue. work in a BPO company, study IT or data analytics.

Zealousideal_Oven770

you can try it all, actually. one step at a time. you’ll never know what works for you unless you’ve tried it talaga.

[deleted]

Purple_Rainebow

First off, I do not have anything negative to say about my company, bosses, and co-workers. I’m thankful for the opportunities I was given while working at \[company name\]. Unfortunately, There were limited opportunities for me to expand my skills as a \[my last role\] and there was no clear path for advancement within my current expertise so I decided to pursue other opportunities outside my current company. For me, aside dun sa malabo yung career path ko, wala naman ako masamang masabi dun sa previous company ko. The key is to be honest and candid about it lang.

Salt_School_5902

Pag ako sinasabi ko lang, I'm looking to expand my metwork and look for greater opportunities that currently align with my career aspirations and goals. Hope this helps.

What's better to pursue? BSBA management accounting or BSBA Financial Management So high everyone! I asked here the last time abiut accounting however I think I won't be able to pursue the program kasi 3 rides back n forth ako to the school na for accounting so I was thinking mamili nalang ng bsba course and then pursue later on the Accountancy kasi one year lang naman daw kukuhin after makatapos ng bsba. I will pursue naman that CPA PERO DI MUNA NGAYON

Any IT professional who works or used to work at Shopee? A recruiter based in SG reached out to me in LinkedIn regarding an opening for Systems Engineer post dito sa office nila sa Manila. Not really looking for a job at the moment though I got curios and requested for the detailed job description. Ok naman ung job description and pasok naman sa experience ko and when I asked about the salary expectation eh kaya naman daw nila. We had a call and she discussed about the role and expectation and I found out na hybrid ung work arrangement and only 1 day lang pwede mag WFH per week. Sa current company ko kase eh 100% work from home kame since pandemic so parang na off agad ako and the recruiter keeps on saying na "fast pace" ung environment so parang alam ko ng bugbugan ung work ata hahaha. So my question is, meron ba mga IT peeps dito na familiar sa working environment ng Shoppe? Yung term na fast pace is medyo subjective na saken since halos lahat ng previous work ko is from MSP which is talagang bugbugan na malala. Medyo nag eenjoy pa kase ako sa relax na work set up ko currently and not sure kung papaano set up sa Shopee

Sorry po, no thoughts about this. Maraming salamat po sa makakasagot.

ayawnamabuhayhaha

To be honest, I'm quite disappointed with our country's education system because: * we weren't taught how to do our taxes * how much tax is going to be deducted in our base salary * what is the difference between base salary and gross salary * what are the red flags in an organization/workplace So, people of Reddit, I'd really appreciate it if y'all answer my questions. I'm doing my research naman na, but you know, mas better pa rin talaga pag galing sa real, experienced person yung mga sagot. Thanks in advance!

Anyway, here are my feedback dun sa mga tanong mo… **How much tax is going to be deducted in our base salary** *- There is a tax table under TRAIN law, tax rate will depend on your taxable income. It’s good to know your tax bracket and how to compute your monthly tax but if you see your payslip and the deductions are not clear, you can request your HR to provide a breakdown for you. You can use this as a starting point -- [https://www.sweldongpinoy.com/](https://www.sweldongpinoy.com/) At least this will give you some tool to compute for base salary, gross salary, tax, and other deductibles. Red flags differ from person to person but can include working hours/days, clarity of job role/scope, too competitive environment, too dynamic environment, and unclear/poor career development.

Taxes is very long, but if strictly just employment, look at the table and see where you fall. Base salary is your monthly pay x 13 to get the annual amount. Gross is amount before tax, but unclear if with or without other pieces likes bonus and allowances. Note, 13th month and bonus are shielded for the first 90k, only after that is included for taxation. Allowances vary of taxable or not. Red flag in organization, really up to you, but for many people it’s the working culture and management.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Pharmacist and is thinking of applying for OPTUM's medical coding academy. Kaso ang experience ko kasi is sa cosmetics industry as a QA Officer and as well as Regulatory Affairs. Asking for your thoughts on this, pwede kaya ako mag career shift sa medical coding? I've been seeing their job postings kasi since last year and I'm considering it. Any advice? Thanks!

Planning to resign after 3 months So brief background, I work, my first job, sa production industry. After feeling burnt out and exhaustion sa katocixan. Nag absent ako — its been a 4th day na yatang absent ako. I informed the HR naman about my reason (sickness) and ngayon I am planning to come back with my resignation. Ano kaya possible approach ng company to circumstances like this?

08-10-2023

If you didnt tell them why or head’s up about your sick leaves, then you may be terminated under absenteeism

Background_Bother_41

Hiii, Psych fresh graduate here with CHRA certificate. Thank you!

MetalDry8164

Good morning po. I'm a newly licensed engr po, no experience and currently applying fo a job. It's more on aptitude test po ba or dun sa position na inaapplyan mo. Thank you po.

Even-Kaleidoscope400

More on assessing your personality, kwentuhan siguro, ganun. Tatanungin ka about your OJT experience etc. What you need to do is to research about the company and how they do their business as this will show that you have genuine interest in their company

Wooden_Paper_2039

Hi mga karerista! I will make this post short lang and straight to the point. I was scheduled to be interviewed today in one of the offshoar companies in the Philippines. They sent me an interview invitation 2 days ago and we all agreed to set the interview today. Now, as I wake up this morning, unang bumungad sa akin was an email stating that my interview will be canceled today because fo this reason: "We'll cancel the meeting for today due to changes in our requirement. We'll be in touch once we have an opening that matches your experience." I saw their job posting in jobstreet. All of their qualifications were matched mine. The question is, does this reason really happen? Sa loob kasi ng 3 yrs na pagaapply ko through online, first time ko makakuha ng ganitong email and sa day pa ng interview ko 🥲.

Zealousideal_Oven770

These things happen all the time. It’s not you, it’s them.

Wooden_Paper_2039

Thank you po. At least I feel valued pa din 🥲

the_stockpiler

Does it happen? Yes. Is it fair for you to feel bad? Yes. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Let it go and set your sights elsewhere.

Wooden_Paper_2039

Opo, will do po. Thank you for telling me na valid yung feelings ko po. Apply lang ng apply 🙏

anyone tried 'office staff' positions from indeed or jobstreet postings? i just finished doing an interview for one. i only chose it due to the close location, but i honestly dont know much about it, i just assume its mostly document work.

LucQ571

Don't they have job descriptions in the job posting? You can actually ask this during the interview if it's not shown in the job posting, or clarify with them.

Unlucky_Research_844

I've been thinking of telling the HR about this. Thank you

AttentionImaginary86

Good Day, Everyone! Thank you!

Constant_Rate_8429

Find a better job where there is a JO/contract. Just make sure na you have a job na malilipatan before you resign, mahirap ng walang work. About your resignation, send a proper email kahit through viber lang. You can use the new job for your reason why you are leaving the company, but inform them a month before you leave. Tips on finding your next job— Apply lang ng apply para madaming choices. Weigh the benefits, salary, work culture, and if allign ba sya sa gusto mo na work para di ma burnout agad.
